My daughter received her second gardacil shot in August and has been steadily losing about a handful of hair each day. She has had bloodwork done and her thyroid checks out okay as does her complete blood count so we know she is not anemic. The doctor feels that her hair loss is stress related.There have been many other times in her life that have been stressful and she has never lost hair. I feel the gardacil vaccine plays an important role in her hair loss. I fear that she will become bald and that her hair may not regrow. I found this site 12 months after beginning Doxycycline for acne. A year ago I was the happiest person that I knew. I was a junior in high school and was very involved, liked sports, and had many friends. Me and my girlfriend were happy and to be honest, I had literally not felt happier.

A week ago I had come to the end of my rope. I literally decided to commit suicide. I finally reached out to God for help and I feel like he has saved me. About half an hour after praying for help from where I was I found this site. I broke up with my girlfriend because I would sit at home and think for over 12 hours at a time that she hated me. As a result of this racing thoughts, when I saw her or went on a date, I would have nauseating anxiety for literally no reason... This anxiety continued for about a year until I had almost lost every friend I have ever had. It wasn't their fault, just that no one else knew how to respond to this sudden change in me.

Racing thoughts were terrible. I couldn't sit in a room without thinking thousands and thousands and thousands of negative thoughts from hell. I would think of how my family, and my friends, and my girlfriend all hated me. Now, after discontinuing this medication, i realize that it is all a lie.

The depression was horrific. I would literally have rather had a serious physical disease for the past year instead of feeling like this. I wouldn't go to parties, I would sit home and cry. Mind you, NOTHING happened to make me feel like this. Absolutely nothing. I thought about suicide about once a week (at least). I honestly didn't know what to do.

Mood swings were awful. I would change life goals and life core beliefs within minutes. Everyday I would become a different person at least 10 times throughout the day. I would go from nice, to sad, to motivated to start my own business, to thinking about signing my soul to Satan all in one day. These are just a few of the horrific thoughts. Dark thoughts, thoughts from hell.

I can report no physical side effects, but honestly I have been through so much that I can't stand it with this drug. I would like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for helping me realize that this drug can absolutely ruin lives. I think everything happens for a reason, but people, hear me. I write with tears in my eyes right now and I look back on all of the lost time and all of the friends and all of the opportunities that have literally flown passed me. Just know that you are not alone. Stop taking this drug! And start raising awareness!

I have been taking Januvia for a year now and my blood sugars have been great. However I came to this site to see if anyone else has experienced extreme hair loss with Januvia. Since being on the drug I have lost more than half my hair. I had lost over 40 pounds a several months back and been very ill with a bowel infection and the Doc thought the hair loss was due to that. Now I think the bowel infection, the weight loss from that and the hair loss were all due to the Januvia. I was on both Metformin and Januvia until about 3 months ago when the Doc took me off of Metformin due to the fact I had lost so much weight and my sugars were so good. I believe now I will go off the Januvia and try just the Metformin! Calling Doc tomorrow!

Hi everyone my names Vanessa..I am 20 years old and was prescribed doxycycline for mild adult acne in Jan..5 months ago...and never knew how much the side effects change someones lives. Experienced: insomnia, nightmares, hot/cold spells, difficulty breathing, paranoid, swollen face and tongue, crying spells, severe mood swings, inability to concentrate, weakness, fatigue, suicidal, shakiness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, irritability, feeling outside of my body.....it wasn't until I started to stop drinking coffee and drinking loads of water and exercising..that I realized it was the doxycycline side effects. I would wake up have a good breakfast....and water....than take the pill and start to get blurred vision...shaky..feel depressed. and confused...than I would start drinking more water and trying to sweat (knowing that water flushes toxins out of your body and sweating) and by 2 ish? the side effects subsided...and I could see clear. Today my first day not taken the pill...and from what I read it takes a few weeks to get it completely out of your system. But I get a kick out of doctors who prescribe all of these medications to people thinking it cures things..not realizing that it really can disrupts someones lives who's sensitive to medication.

HAIR LOSS: I was on the Yasmin Pill for 2 and a half years. I have now been off it for 2months. In the past year i had been experiencing hair loss, but in the past 6mths i have gradually lost half of my hair. I feel so disheartened as my hair was my glory. Its not just the loss, its the condition, each strand has thinning out, and my hair is long with no movement and just a clump. I have heard about people taking VIVISCAL for hair loss, has anyone taken this? Please advise me on whether this works. Does anyone have any other advise on how to bring back my hair and prevent further hair loss through natural remedies?

ANXIETY: Since i have come off the pill, i have noticed myself thinking silly thoughts, and fallen into anxiety, which i have NEVER experienced before.

SWEATING: I have also noticed that i am sweating alot more, and suffer hot flushes, especially at night.

BREASTS: My breasts have reduced a cup size :( - but a very small loss after every other symptom i am experiencing

MOTIVATION: I have lost my motivation, i feel lazy and not proactive at all in my usual interests

How long do the side effects stay with you?? I have been off for 3 weeks now and still experience light headed and fogginess. Is this normal? Everything else has tested normal. Please Reply

Adderall has been an excellent drug for the treatment of ADD. It took me from a lethargic, disorganized adult, to a more productive one who finally could finish her work and leave her desk organized at the end of the day. Unfortunately...
...there are many side effects to this drug which has, reluctantly forced me to quit taking it. The weight loss was a welcome side-effect as was getting rid of the lethargy I have experienced on a daily basis since the age of 11 (anti-depressants did nothing). However, my infrequent migraines became daily and excruciating after starting Adderall and its generics. My insurance could not keep up with the coverage of the migraine meds I needed. I began experiencing ear problems (primarily in my left ear) that felt like I constantly had the pressure associated with a cold. After visiting my doctor (who told me nothing was wrong), an ENT doctor, getting a hearing test, and an MRI of my ear canals and Eustachian tubes, I finally found out it was due to the Adderall. The worst side effects, however, was a gradual increase in dermatitis (dry, itchy, scaly, skin). My complexion looked sallow and my back and neck broke out in horrible cyst-like acne (not typical AT ALL for me). My eyes became so dry (not to mention the cotton mouth), that I began trying to reverse this effect with pills from a Lasik eye center (helped, but didn't solve the problem). Perhaps the worst side effect, however, has been the hair loss. Long, beautiful blond hair, has been replaced by very thinning hair (comes out tons at a time in my shower), which is now brittle and breaks all the time. I have finally decided to quit this medication despite its benefits. I only took 15mg 2/day. Once my body recovers, I hope to take on an as-needed basis for important work projects or hectic weeks where productivity is necessary. Other than that, I won't take it any more. The side effects are too severe, even for me.

I am almost done my first aviane pack (28). it is my first time taking birth control so i am not sure what is normal. i have been spotting since i ended my period...soo i have been constantly bleeding for almost a month now!
i have increased sex drive.. and this mild bleeding is really bugging me.. does anyone know when it will stop.. or if it will?

im 14 and take 50 mg of adderal a day for ADHD and Bipolar, and i am unsure of it. I weight 96 lbs.... and i am almost 5 1/2 feet tall... so i am very underweight... and i do notice that when i take it, after it kicks in i seem more aditated, and cranky, and i obvleisuly dont eat.. and my mouth is always dry. i am just unsure about the whole crankyness change after i take it... does anyone else seem more agitated when they take this meds and it kicks in.../ plz reply. thanks

Thank God for the internet or I would have thought I was as crazy everyone else. I too have experienced the horrid hair loss and no one can tell me it is due to pregnancies as I have had thick hair following both my children's births and now 4 years after my last child was born I have had major hair loss (have had iud for 2 years), and all this time I have been having nightmares of waking up completely bald, and it's the Mirena. Have had terrible headaches and depression, mood swings too. I would rather be pregnant til I croak than keep this thing in one more day.

I'm 22 years old... I'd been off of birth control for 2 years when I started NuvaRing in October. My gyno said it was great with very few side effects. I have always had really clear, pretty skin, but since I have started NuvaRing, I have had awful breakouts. I am constantly nauseated, have terrible headaches and the mood swings are unbearable. My fiance thought I was losing it - I'd be high as a kite one minute, then rock bottom the next.
Luckily I found this site... does anyone have any recommendations as far as other options? Is OrthoEvra (patch) worth it? Please reply... thanks, ladies!

I have been experiencing a flu like symptom for over a year now. They started about 2 months after I began taking 350mg of lamictal a day. Symptoms include exhaustion, headache, soar/achy throat, post-nasal drip, TONS of nausea, lack of digestion & regurgitation of food. I am tired and feel warn out all the time... I have had everything checked by doctors and they've found no health reasons to explain these symptom's.

HAS ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCED THIS????

I have had a severe case of polymyalgia rheumatica and was initially put on 60 mg of prednisone a day. It was wonderful! Within hours my pain level dropped almost in half. From there the pain has gradually improved even more. I went to 40 mg per day to 20 mg per day to 15 mg per day. Have been on the 15 mg for 2 months now and want off as soon as possible. Yes, I too have the moon face, camel hump, slight weight gain, nausea, digestive problems, cramps, depression, etc. Not fun! My question is - does anyone experience burning/stinging in their face, arms and legs from the prednisone? I wonder if it is the polymyalgia rheumatica or if this is a side effect from the steroid. Thanks for your comments.

I have been on 50mg of Zoloft daily for about three years. Lately, my breathing is very laboring when laying down. Is this one of the side effects of Zoloft?

Also, I am on 50 mg of Provigil daily which helps me concentrate. Could the combination of these two drugs cause my shortening of breath when laying down?

I just started on Yasmin 5 days ago and have been experiencing terrible stomach pain and also lots of gastric.. Has anyone had similar side effects? Pls do reply..

Hi...I took my last Yamin pill the end of August, had a period, and it stopped normally. Then i didnt have a period again...until December becuase I took Provera for 10 days. I had a pretty light period for about 5 days. That was in December. Now it is almost March and no period. I was on Yasmin for about 5 years. I was on other BC pills before that. I am 26 years old. I just got married. I am not pregnant. Have any of you experienced no period after going off this hell pill? I still have a bit of anxiety, but not as bad as it was. So girls, look forward to the future. I am 6 months off and it has gotten better! I still take 0.5 mg of Lorazapan every morning, and I still see a psych. once a month. But it has gotten so much better, just not perfect. Anyways, I am freaking out about this no period thing---please please help me! I just made an appt. for next week with a different gyno for a second opinion. Please reply! Thanks!
