I've been on Singulair for a few weeks now and just put 2 and 2 together. Since starting this medication my nighttime asthma has improved but I have been very irritable. I have always been a stay at home mom and wouldn't have it any other way but lately I can't stand my children or my husband. They have been driving me crazy. Every little thing they do makes me want to scream. I just want to get out of the house. My husband also tells me I'm losing my mind. He says he has told me things and I have no recollection. I am currently breastfeeding my 10.5 month old who has also been very cranky lately. My 4 year old started Singulair around the same time as me and has been whinny all day and cries a lot. We are both stopping this medication today. I wish I had researched it before we started it.

I have been on Singulair about 3 weeks and have been having mood swings, irritability, depression and nightmares. My doctor prescribed Singular after I complained about weight gain from Advair. I was diagnosed with asthma after having a bout with pneumonia last December 08.

Although Singulair has helped with my asthma symptoms, I have decided to stop using it after reading some of these postings.

Welcome a board singulairsurvivor. I received back an email from the woman at the lung association, she was of course sorry for our experiancr, and went on to say the scientist that reviewed the data were some of the best, and the association has no ties to any product.then as i am watching the updates on the hurricanes,i am inendated with singulair commercials as once again it is allergy season,so what a windfall for Merck that this article came out this month and not next....Coincidense i think not shame shame shame on you.To all those unsuspecting people about to get their prescription .i am sorry

Ladies(and some gentlemen!):

I'm sure many of you have seen my posts describing my personal experiences with YASMIN, so I won't fo through them all again. Sufice it to say, mine, like many of yours, has been a totally unpleasant and nervewracking experience. I am writing today to encourage ANY of you who have not to PLEASE call Berlex Labs and report your experiences with Yasmin. I spoke with a rep today and was told that until a certain number of complaints come in(she did not give me that number), then they would take no action. So, we need to GET ON THE PHONE! I made my report about 2 months ago and it was arduous, to say the least, to reach someone because of their corporate phone system. The person I spoke with this morning told me the reporting system has been STREAMLINED apparently due to the high volume of complaint calls they've been receiving. So, please, PICK UP THE PHONE AND CALL!

The number is 1-888-berlex4 . The prompt will then direct you to "report adverse event".

Also, I found it interesting that this person told me there was no way they could provide me assistance because I am no longer taking YASMIN. I INSISTED that the MAJORITY of my problems started after I stopped, which is why she encouraged me to get all of you on the phone. With enough complaints, including those with adverse effects AFTER coming off YASMIN, they will eventually be able to do something, if only to change the labeling.

So, I'm on a MISSION; how about YOU?

Rita
:-)
