\ i had mirena 9 months and that was enough i know myself very good, so when i started changing i knew it was mirena. i almost ruin my marriage, with my bad moods. but what worry me later was that if YOU BREASTFEED IT WAS WOREST, THIS IS WHAT I FOUND ON BEWARE REPORT ON MIRENA. I WAS VERY UPSET CAUSE I BREAST FEED MY CHILD AND MY DR. DID NOT INFORM ME THIS!
could find that followed breastfeeding infants exposed to levonorgestrel (Norplant) was done in Norway and found that they had higher incidence rates of respiratory infections, skin conditions and eye infections than the control group, and later were found to have a higher proportion of “neurological conditions.”
To me it’s unthinkable to even consider exposing a nursing infant to any type of progestin. I would call this a form of corporate sociopathy—marketing without a conscience to unwitting, under-informed women who are just trying to responsibly avoid an unwanted pregnancy. Since the FDA is unlikely to take action against this practice it’s up to the rest of us to spread the word.
IF YOU BREASTFEED AND HAVE MIRENA READ THIS ABOVE

I'm a 31 female. I was diagnosed with bronchitis/sinusitis on 5/28 and was given Biaxin which did not help. I was instructed to return to the doctor if I did not feel better within 2 to 3 days. On Monday 6/2 I returned to the doctors per instructions because I was not feeling better. He switched me to Levaquin 500mg 1 a day. I took Levaquin at 8pm Monday evening. I was unable to sleep that evening so I researched the medication the following morning and saw that Insomnia was a side effect. Starting at 10am today 6/6 I begun severe hip pain in my right hip. I called the doctor and they instructed me to stop taking the medicine for 24 hours and begin treatment again if the pain reduces. After reading this information I'm now reluctant to start "if" the pain subsides.

I suffer from sleep apnea and use a C-Pap. I have a long history of chronic bronchitis and pneumonia. My sinuses are usually congested. It is imperative that my airways be clear at night when I am sleeping. I have been using muscinex for a few years now and it WORKS. Since I began treatment with this drug I am able to sleep through the night as I am not congested. Nasal drip and mucus stays thin and does not collect in my throat and lungs like it used to. Since beginning the use of this drug, the incidence of respiratory infections, bronchitis and pneumonia have become infrequent. The only side effect I have noticed is dryness in my nose and throat. We run a humidifier at night and this takes care of the excessive dryness. I have only seen an improvement in my quality of life.

Just a follow up- I have been feeling sooo much better since I stopped NuvaRing. When you're on it, you think- "Can this really all be related to a little hormone ring?" The answer is yes! I was having sinus problems, respiratory infections galore, and crazy hormone stuff, the doctors had a hard time believing it was all relate- even though it's all listed as side effects and just as soon as I went off, I got better. You know yourself and your body and you know when things are not right. NuvaRing may be for some people, but it definitely was not for me!

I started on Singulair about 7 months ago and I tell you I've been sick all winter with asthma. I've had respiratory infections, bronchitis, etc. I don't smoke at all nor am I around smokers. I've found myself depressed and having suicidal thoughts. My mood swings have been off the charts. I get mad about the most insignificant events and sometimes I even get violent. I've broken dishes and even kicked the garbage can into pieces. I am by no means ever violent but after reading everyone's testimony about Singulair, can my symptoms be a result of taking this drug for 6 months now. If so, Merck needs to be held responsible. I lost out on a 5 year relationship because of my behavior.

I had my MIRENA put in 2 months ago. Since then, even with the holidays, I have lost 11 lbs. (bringing me to 15lbs underwt.) I have had no appetite, acid reflux, extreme nausea, esophageal spasms, diarrhea, stomach cramps, headaches, and weakness. I am also still breastfeeding, so my once fatty milk now looks like water. My husband's starting thinking it was the MIRENA, because my body must think I'm pregnant again. I am going to the MD tomorrow to talk about have it taken out.

I was a 2:42 marathoner. I used a synthetic varnish containing isocyanates, pentanedione, organic solvents, in one 7-hour session; the company-recommended respirator did not in fact prevent transmission: Severe chemically- induced asthma, plus neuropathy, plus, plus.
I've used Advair 500/50 for six years. There have been many diverse effects from the chemical exposure; I'd not questioned any being Advair side effects. But the raised blood pressure was not initial, and certainly not a priori. Diminished hearing, diminished eyesight, anxiety. Again, not to lump in, but these questions are new for me. But the point I'd like to bring before this group is this: In August I was diagnosed with ehlichiosis , and was prescribed 28 days on doxycycline. They recommend eliminating many possible antagonists to the doxycycline. My respiratory capacity had been continually diminishing. My ongoing physician said this was to be expected and recommended only the next more powerful steroid. Not a good solution. Before all this I was strong; repaired myself. In the absence of constructive answers, wondering if the Advair was weakening me, making me dependent, I quit the Advair as well on beginning the doxycycline. Today is eleven days post-doxycycline. Eight days ago there began with increasing severity, a terrible wracking deep cough producing dark yellow mucus. Painful. No fever. Grevious throat from the wracking, but I question whether this is a cold or infection. It's just in my lungs. Maybe it's as though I've thrown off an epithelial coating. These past two days the quantity of deep yellow mucus is not as ready, but the wracking and coughing is more severe. And my lung capacity, my respiratory capacity, is frighteningly diminished. Until these past two days I'd considered this an infection, especially post-doxy. But it doesn't feel like an infection. And I'm scared. Is this because I quit the Advair abruptly after long regular use? Have any of you had a similar experience. Can you discuss the effects of abruptly discontinuing Advair. Have you stayed off it. What's happened to your respiratory capacity. Have you any professional studies, trials or experience to recommend. Thanks.

I love Levaquin. Because of some lung damage from an asthmatic childhood, I get recurrent bacterial respiratory infections about every 90 days, and the Levaquin is the only thing my doctor can find that knocks out the bugs. Sometimes he rotates in Bactrim, but it takes a lot longer to work. Not everyone has these bad side effects, I just get a little restless.

My son is 3 years old. He suffers from nut allergies as well as asthma. We put him on Singulair since in the first month that he started school, he was sick for 4 weeks straight with cold after cold. Each time he got a cold, he also got respiratory infections as well.
My son is exhibiting aggressive behavior, more severe than normal. He is a normal 3 year old, who sometimes lashes out, but since taking the meds for the past 2 weeks, he cant stop himself. He is hyper and and doesnt know limits.
He also has been waking up all night long and coming into my room. One night he woke up 5 times in 2 hours. He is very sleepwalkish and then afraid to got back to sleep alone.
ANyone else have this?

I have been using Advair on and off for a while now. I notice that it does more harm than good and I am going to discontinue using it. I have been suffering respiratory infections, tingling and numbness in my hands and feet, aching bones and muscles, horse throat and other various flu-like symptoms. I also notice loss of appetite and that my mood becomes agitated. It is unfortunate that there are no really good drugs for asthmatics on the market that do not have adverse effects.

I started taking Advair about 6 months ago and during that time I have experienced 2 severe respiratory infections that developed into bronchitis. It has just dawned on me that Advair may be responsible for them. I have also gained a good bit of weight during that time and am now also attributing that to the Advair.

Chronic sinus infctions. They started out occuring every so often, nothing to be alarmed about yet right before I stopped taking singulair I was in at the doctors at least every 4 weeks for sinus infections. I was on antibiotics for almost one month before I stopped taking it and it was a factor in my coming down with bronchitis. I have stopped taking the drug when I realized it was making me sick. It's been 8th months and I have been to the doctors for a regualr check up and one infection. It feels great to have figured out why I was so sick. I had undergone CAT scans and saw an ENT and I was about to undergo more tests and see another specialists. I have researched online about possible side effects and infamed sinuses and respiratory infections are listed as side effects. The ironic part was I was taking singulair to prevent the sinus infections which my doctor and I thought were caused by my severe allergies when in reality it was actually making me sick. I cannot describe how much I loath this drug and feel that Merck does not do a proper and good job in making all the possible side effects know. My life health wise was...I don't know how to describe it- I was constantly sick and missing school and work and feeling terrible- I guess the word would be terrible. I strongly reccomend a person who is new to taking this drug to research it and know all of the nasty side effects.

I am 35 yr old female and have been on Singulair for at least 3 years, maybe 4. I stopped taking it 3 weeks ago and I am feeling better than I have in ages. I had no idea there were so many side effects until I started reading the posts here. I had read on packaging inserts about the higher incidents of Singulair causing ear and respiratory infections. I have had numerous infections in the time I have been on this med. I have also had problems with nightmares, teethgrinding, tension in the jaw area and severe headaches. Now I read that others taking Singulair are experiencing the same! The nightmares are terrifying and vivid, something that had not troubled me before. I recently found out I have elevated liver enzymes which the dr cannot figure out why. I now suspect it might be the Singulair or even the combination of taking it with Zyrtec. I really wish I could get off Zyrtec, but I sneeze non-stop and itch like crazy the three times I have tried to stop. Help!

Having been diagnosed with COPD, I am prone to respiratory infections. I take Levaquin every few months for 10 days at a time and also anytime I am in the hospital by IV drip.
The medication sure does the trick and I probably owe my life to it many times over. However, I do get a rash, mostly on my arms, every time I use it. The rash is crusty and blistery and itches like crazy. I have some ointment a doctor gave me but it really doesn't seem to help.
I was never told anything about side effects of this medication and figured out myself, even after doctor visits for the rash, that it was caused by the Levaquin. Doctors aren't too smart sometimes.
It's a great medicine but, as with all medications, people should be careful and pay close attention to any changes in their body anytime they take any medication.

I am on prednisone frequently for respiratory infections as I have a chronic lung condition. I was just hospitalized for a week and on 80 mg per day IV. I have tapered by 5 mg every 3rd day. I have a rash in my hairline and actually in my hair. I have blurry vision, insomnia, cravings for food, weight gain, puffy face, swollen stomach, and pain so bad in my left hip joint that I can hardly bear weight.
-- By cynthe | Reply | Private Message meIn Aug, 2008, I had my right hip replaced from avascular necrosis caused by steroid use for my lung condition. I am worried that AVN is now also in my left hip. The steroids take the swelling down in my lungs so I can breathe, however they are destroying my bones. I am so scared of another hip surgery. I realize that I need to be thankful that my joints can be replaced, but it is a horrible side effect of this drug.
