Are there any people who can report good things about this pill? I haven't started it yet, but now I am really nervous because there aren't very many positive side effects. I know everyone responds differently to BC but a little encouragement would be nice. I recently was on Ortho Tri Cyclen- Lo and didn't have a very good expierence I just hope this one will be better :)

I was a very healthy 23 yr old female. I cant believe that I finally found someone going thru almost what I am going thru. My name is Liane and My life changed on July 7th, 2007. I went to the hospital for frothy urine. They told me it was a UTI and gave me Levaquin for 7 days. I took it for only 5 days cuz ( I was allergic too) then were gonna start me on macrobid. Mean time my hands, face, and bottom half began to swell up. Me thinking it was from my period but this was different. I work in a jewelery store and once my rings that are a size 6 DID not fit at all I panicked. I had extremely bad back pain, high blood pressure. I did not feel same. On July 13th (Friday) I went to a hospital here in southern california and talked to a doctor and she said.."sweetie u don't have a UTI, I don't wanna scare u but I think that U have a Kidney Disease called Minimal Change Disease"!!!! WHAT!!!! Am I gonna die? She says no but come Monday u need to see a specialist and confirm. Now here is a Lasix pill to help take some of the water weight that u have gained away. Its already about 1:30am on Saturday the 14th. She says u will not sleep cuz u will be urinating all night. I said well anything to help me, i had went from a very healthy 5' 7" 155lbs woman, I worked out in the gym 5 days a week with my boyfriend who is a Police officer and bodybuilder for fun, so me swelling up and devastated me. I took the pill. and went to sleep. Nothing happened to me. That meant something was wrong. Later that day Saturday I felt BAD. My face kept swelling, blood pressure kept going up, heart racing. I went to E.R and told them I felt like I was gonna die, I think I have minimal change disease I need a specialist now. They admitted me for 5 days. My specialist came in and saved my life. I had a ultrasound and kidney biopsy and they confirmed what I already knew. I had Minimal change Disease. I ended up being allergic to Dilaudid, and compozine in the hospital. I was released on the 20th of july. and now began my treatments. 3 x's a day of Prednisone at 20mg each, simvastatin 20mg once a day for high cholesterol now, lasix 20mg once a day, and omeprazole 20mg once a day to prevent ulcers from the Prednisone., I hate the Prednisone. I broke out so much on my face. And its not pimples it bumps. I wake up every morning at 5a.m with nasty heart burn. then wake up every 2 hours after. Doctor told me to take all my meds at once and it helped a bit but still not completely. I too feel bloated in the mid section. I still suffer from edema in my legs down to my ankles. During the day gets worse but once I put my feet up and elevate them I'm OK. I have bad mood swings I don't know how my loved ones put up me. One minute I cry, 20 minutes I'm happy and wanna go out for a walk. This drug is gonna help me but then Do I really need to put myself thru this? But there is not other way. Just thought of sharing my story.

I'm a 55 yo male, that has been taking Vytorin for 6 yrs. A year ago I was diagnosed with Fybromyalgia, at a very large research hospital in St. Louis.
I entered a drug study, but after 4mos had to leave due to a neccessary surgery. I was able to find out, what the medicine was, and contimued taking it. It was Cymbalta. It provided about a 75% reduction in my symtoms, which were: Major muscle pain, throughout my body, fatique, constipation-diarrehea, memory loss(Fybro Fog), erectile dysfunction, body temp, always hot, with sweating, and just feeling tired and crappy 24/7. I accidently came across this site, about 2 wekks ago, and began reading these and other testamonials, and started thinking, maybe it's not Fibrom, but the Vytorin. So I quit taking it. My symtoms have dramatically decreased, almost by 90%. I hadn't told my Doc, so I'll be doing that this week. And run some blood tests to see what my numbers are doing. But I am convinced, Vytorin has something to do with my condition.

Where do I begin??? I have been taking Yaz for six months. Migraines! The worst migraines ever, I cannot function for one full day and sometimes more, the pain was so intolerable.
Hives! For the past two months, I keep thinking that I had a food allergy; even my doctor diagnosed it as that. After going to the allergist, I was told that I have developed an allergy to the Yasmin pill. No part of my body has been discriminated with this medication. Hives from the top of my head, in my eyes, right down to the bottom of my feet! This has been the worst experience of my life with this pill.
Fatigue to the extreme! I fall asleep sitting up and never feel rested. Yaz has caused me to go up two cup sizes so far, I went from being a 38C to a 40DD and I can't fit into anything. My boobs are sore a lot.
Weight gain, at least 20 pounds heavier. Nausea; Indigestion; Diarrhea & Constipation; Decreased Sex Drive; and Mood swings; Uncontrollable Rages; Severe body aches; Hot Flashes/Chills; Crying Spells; Blurred Vision; Lack of Concentration; Trouble sleeping; Dizziness; Shaking; Restlessness mainly after 9pm when I should be winding down to go to bed; Terrible night sweats; Never ending cravings for junk food; Inability to cope with stressful situations; Feeling of being inadequate; Can’t concentrate; Gassy; Hate family & partners; Irrational.

I have been taking ativan off and on for almost a year. I do not feel as though i am addicted at all. It helps to relax me if i feel an anxiety attack coming on. I take .5mg as needed. Sometimes i take half of that in one day, sometimes i take a whole .5 and some days i dont take it at all. I have never noticed any withdrawl symptoms. There are some weeks i will take 1 a day then go for a week with none. It has been a life saver for me. I guess everyone responds differently to medicine.

I am seriously considering getting BACK on the Yasmin... I only got off of it because I forgot to refill my prescription. (I don't take it for birth control, I take it to level out my hormones.) The side effects I had while on it were headaches, sinus infections, 7 day periods: stuff like that. My issues started AFTER I got off of it.
I've been off of Yasmin since Sept 22. I went one month without any other BC, then started Loestrin 1/20 FE. I just started my second week of it and I AM MISERABLE... I'm eating out of control, I'm weepy, angry, irritable, my boobs have grown at least a full cup size (and they hurt like HELL) and I have funky discharge!!!! I was just fine until I started mucking around with these pills!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm at a loss - I sincerely do not know what to do. I don't have insurance until Dec so I don't have a whole lot of options... Do I stay on Loestrin? Do I go back on Yasmin? Do I stop taking them altogether?!? How do I get back to feeling OKAY?????
Sorry. No one ever responds to my posts anyway and I just needed to rant. I don't know what to do. I have Bipolar disorder so having my hormones out of whack doesn't help...

Hey, question for those who went off the pill mid-pack, I stopped taking it mid-pack on Saturday and today I'm having a bit of spotting, kind of a brownish color, and I was wondering if this happened to anyone else, like a brown discharge or spotting? Thanks in advance if anyone responds.

After being newly diagnosed with diabetes, Lisinopril was Rx'd to increase the function with my kidneys, to slow the protein loss. That is when I began experiencing a non functional cough. It has become an irritating event that begins suddenly and occurs randomly. It is short in duration and responds to losenges or sugar free cough drops. I wish I had this information at the outset! Looking for an alternative to this med as I do alot of public speaking and have meetings and it is quite embarrassing to begin coughing for no reason.

NEED HELP. After experiencing many side effects I stopped taking Yasmin after about a year. Since stopping, I have only gotten my period once, in 6 MONTHS! I am scared to death. Docter said, "Everyone responds differently when coming off BC pills, menstrual cycle should return to normal soon". I am still waiting for it to return. Has anyone else experienced this POST BC pills?

I gave this to my 4 year old daughter and I don't even know where to start. My daughter was pretty sluggish the first two days but I thought it was because she did not feel good. She started feeling a little bit better so I stopped the medication. My daughter is a totally different person. She is so hyper I can not settle her down she is jumping off furniture, and I talk to her and it is like she can not hear me. Her eyes are dialated and she acts like she can not stand herself or her skin. My uncle works for the ER and I called him he said that she is having withdraws from the medication. That it is a family to sudifed and everyone responds different. I would be very careful before you give your children or yourself this medication.

I am new to this site and am so thankful I found it. I was on Yasmin for 3 years and got off in June '04. Anyway I have gained 10 to 12 lbs and now it's October and the weight hasn't budged. I am so MAD!! Also I just started this last month to break out in acne all over my neck and face.
My doctor was so mad that I got off of the Yasmin and made me feel like I made a horrible choice. I do not understand why they think it's the best thing out.
Anyway has anyone lost all of their weight after getting off the pill and how long does it take? It seems nothing will come off!! It's already been 4 months!!
Please give me any advice or information from those who have been off the pill. How long does it take to start feeling like myself?
I'm new to this board and am thankful to anyone who responds!!

My 6 yr old son started taking singulair three weeks ago to help control severe allergies and asthma. Within a few days he started exhibiting extreme agression. He would hit my husband and I every time we disciplined him, It got to a point where I was going to put him in some sort of therapy because nothing I did was working, but then my mom came upon this website. I feel relieved that others are going through this to. He went to the allergist on Wed. and he took him off the singulair. We can already see a difference in him.He continues to take Zyrtec, Nasonex and Advair, but he responds ok to these meds and he gets to start allergy shots on the 27th as long as his asthma remains under control. He will have 2 shots a week for the next 2-5 years. I will never put him on the singulair again, the allergist said there is one med. we can try in place of singulair if we had to use it.

I am 25 years old and have been on Yasmin for almost 10 months now. I was very pleased with Yasmin at first. However, I think this pill has taken a toll on my body that has just recently become evident. I have had many of the same symptoms that have been posted and I attributed them to stress and ignored them---not recommended!
Last year my best friend told me that she had been "spotting" for almost a full month and sometimes would have a thick, clumpy discharge of dark blood on non-menstruating days. She got off of Yasmin and has not experienced this since. Might I also add that she has taken 4 different kinds of BC and didn't have similar side effects with any of them. For the past 3 weeks, I TOO have experienced this ridiculous, ONGOING bleeding/spotting and have ruined most of my underwear collection. I don't think there is anything normal about that! I'm no longer taking this medicine and I hope to regain my former energy and enthusiasm. Everyone responds differently to medication, but life is too precious to spend your days in contortion associated with a sketchy drug like Yasmin.

I started taking Allegra at 8 p.m. on April 8, 2003, for seasonal sinus problems here in Michigan. After taking the second caplet at the same time the following evening (April 9), I awoke the next morning with a lower back ache. On April 10, after my third Allegra, the back pain was so severe I could not stand from a sitting position without assistance. By my fourth Allegra caplet on April 11, I also had a severe headache along with the increasing back pain. I had taken Allegra for approximately one week before I saw a local television ad for the medication stating that "possible" side effects included headache, cold symptoms and/or backache. I thought then that the possibility of the back pain being related to the Allegra was evident. I discontinued taking Allegra on April 15, 2003, and the backache is nearly gone. The slight headache remains, but responds to aspirin. It should be noted that I had a problem several years ago with Allegra-D causing severe head congestion and sinus pain. I would not recommend anyone taking this medication without knowing that the side effects are more than just "possible" .

I have been taking Tegretol 200 mg CR - twice daily for treatment of Jacksonian seizure since last 3.5 months. There is no recurrence of seizure (which happened 4-5 times on single day before I started treatment)but I had encountered for few times some shaking sensation (like one responds when attacked physically by raising hand towards the face!). Also I have observed increased boils on head and armpits, increase in sleep and increase of weight.

um... i think the mood swings are just bitchiness... i dont think its the medicine making u like this... no one I know has had this problem... this pill is awsome and no matter the side effects, it gets the job done... personally, I havent had any side effects... i went on this site before I started taking this pill and it made me so upset... i was so scared to take it but I had to at least give it a try... I'm glad I did... It's awsome and saying negative things like this just scares girls who are researching pills... maybe you should see a psychologist if you have mood swings... be greatful that you have something like this... its better than being pregnant...
