Wow, this last few months have been a revelation. My big guy (now nearly 7) was diagnosed with Asthma at 18 months or so. He has been on singulair for as long as we can remember, and then since November 07 on Flovent too. He was such a happy baby, just the cutest thing, but as he grew older he got more emotional. A little high strung, quick temper, and some signs of depression. His eating habits were awful, which we thought were due to him having allergies to some foods. We have noticed mood swings and depression, but it would pass. Leg cramps were a common complaint which we brushed off.
Then for some reason we thought it would be a good idea to put him on Flovent too in the winter, well it really went downhill from there. Violent anger, depression, wanting to die, wanting to kill himself, wouldn't eat at all. You name it, he had it. My wife and I were at our wits end, but we didn't think it was the medicine, never entered our minds, and my wife is a paediatric RN too. I sent an e-mail to a psychiatrist friend of mine desperate for help. Well while I was writing it I saw there was a pattern and the sudden slide began the same time he started Flovent. I researched it on the web and OMG the horror, the other parents could have been talking about my boy.
I took him off immediately, co-incidentally his Doc had failed to renew his Singulair scrip the month before so he hadn't been taking it for a month. Well within 24 hours we saw a difference, by the end of the week I cried as I had my boy back. Never thought about Singulair as really we thought it was the Flovent. However after seeing the news today, and having seen a little guy get less and less happy over the years, we realize that the singulair was also affecting him, and then the combo just ripped him apart.
We had filled the Singulair but thankfully were holding off until we saw a pulmonologist and allergist this next few weeks. We will now not be putting him back on it at all. We removed his bedding, got rid of our cats (labs came back highly allergic to them) and tonight after being outside running around in the 40 F air, he went to bed breathing fine. He still is a little emotional, still a little difficult to feed, but we can negotiate, he listens to reason (as much as a 6 yr old will), and more importantly is happy and chatty again.

Oh my gosh!!!! I am so happy I found this site!!! it's a revelation; I had my coil fitted about 4 1/2 years ago as I had incredibly heavy monthly bleeding/clotting/flooding etc BUT I was slim, happy, enjoyed life, slept well, had no pain in my joints or muscles, led a pretty normal life as much as a woman can do!!! But now... well. All of the above and more. Oh yes, no libido whatsoever! night sweats. anxiety. raynauds. I was even tested for arthritis, fibromyalgia, rheumatism... I had cancer some years ago and even thought that maybe that was back as the pain has been so bad. I am DEFINITELY having this revolting thing removed ASAP!!!!!

Jeez oh Pete!!! I can't believe it took me so long to figure this out! I've been depressed since Summer. I started the new NuvaRing last Summer. This month I've been crying uncontrollably, severely depressed, and feeling lonely and hopeless. A light went off today when I decided to research side effects of the NuvaRing. I KNOW this is the cause of my depression. I am usually happy and content. Right now, I feel like I am "losing it" and out of control. I took the ring out 2 days ago for my normal period. I will not be putting a new one back in. After this revelation, I already feel better. Today I have not cried, the first time in several days. I had good results with the original NuvaRing (once a week) which I was on for a year or so. But this new once a month ring is the pits.

I have been taking Lisinopril for about the last maybe 8 to 10 years. It started with 20 miligrams and has now gone to 40 miligrams. Recently my pharmacy change the manufacturer of their Linsinopril. My face is extremely dry, as well as my hair has dried out so bad, that I am beginning to loose my hair. I honestly just received revelation of this on last night, as I could not figure out why I would stay so dry. I try to drink lots of water, but it seems that I am literally drying out. And to be honest my hair has had so many issues since being on this high dose of Lisinopril. Has anyone experienced dry skin or hair, resuluting in hair loss or extremely dry skin?

At last I feel I have the reason for my problems. Reading this post has been a revelation for me. On Lipitor for around 5 years or so and expecience numb toes and feet. Swollen legs and feet, water retention, vision disturbance and when walking I have to watch where what I am doing and not look about me or will go off balance and have had many rather
nasty falls. Short memory loss and generally don't feel up
to par. I am 68yrs old and a Dr. did tell me recently that he
thought I was stuck with the numbness as he considered it to be a side effect of medication.
I am discontinuing Lipitor as from this day on.
Will talk to Doctor about it on next visit by the time hopefully
I will be feeling better in myself.

I'm 58 years old and I've been on 10 mg Simvastatin for 14 months since I was diagnosed with Diabetes 2. Also Metformin and Glipiside as my bs got up to 499 at diagnosis with high cholesterol.
I had NO IDEA that my suffering the past year could possibly be tied to one of the drugs I've been prescribed. In the first three months after diagnosis, my Diabetes was controlled and I've even backed off some of the meds. My cholesterol also came down beautifully. However, the debilitating weakness and muscle aches (which has increased over the 14 mos.) has become so bad (especially this last week) that I came to the Internet looking for possible reasons for 'body ache'.
And get this: I take a packet of vitamins every day which includes a daily dose of Q10... BUT I haven't been able to take them for about a week and this last week I felt like I was ready for a wheel chair~!!! Worse than it's ever been, knees and feet in horrible condition, hands and wrists unable to open a water bottle. Total body aches so severe it made me want to research something, anything to see what might be the problem.... before seeing the doctor about it!
My shock at seeing my medication here listed with the horrible side effects I'm experiencing has been a revelation~!! I am going to stop the Simvastatinn and see what happens. BTW, I've been an active person all my life, was a 2nd Degree Black Belt and taught Tang Soo Do and know what muscle aches and pains are, know my body (at least I did) and pretty much thought my active life was over.....
Not now~!!! I'm FURIOUS!!
