I know this sounds ridiculous, but I completely had a paranoia attack and thought someone close to me was stealing from me, which makes absolutely no sense at all.

I also had vividly bad dreams, and I can't usually remember my dreams.

I feel "keyed up" and not in a good way.

I now have to take the day off and try to calm down, close the blinds, lower the lights, and drink tea.

This is not a good medication.

I have been on Lisinopril for about 6 months now. Was taken off of Labetalol after having side effect of persistent congestion. So now on Lisinopril I'm experiencing shortness of breath, wheezing, hands fall asleep and go numb to the point where I can't even feel my fingers, and starting two weeks ago I had vesicles on my feet that I treated with Elidel and they responded, then I got extremely itchy skin on my ankle and lower legs which is not going away with lotions (I have always had dry skin, but never itchy like this). Is this due to poor circulation due to too low of BP? What's the deal? Has anyone had these symptoms? Is there another drug that has no side effects? Does reducing the dosage of Lisinopril help eliminate side effects? Is it possible that Singular, Rhinocort or Elestat (all for allergies) can cause any of these symptoms? I'm tired of my body negatively reacting to drugs that I "need", especially the BP drugs. A heart attack or stroke is certainly worse, but these "side effects" are ridiculous! Help! Any ideas? I'll check back in to read your responses. Thanks.

constant hiccups. Stops for 20 minutes and comes back again for 2 to 3 hours. It is a horrible feeling. The doctor prescribed it for bad allergies. I feel like stopping this horrible drug. I still feel the same way about my allergies. This is totally ridiculous!

I'm so happy i found this I thought i was loosing my mind, little did i know all my problems had one cause. I've had time were a headache has lasted 3 days, I used to play sport now i'm to lazy to move let alone go outside. I've been depressed before in my life but none quite like this, I'm happy right now but i have days were i look at my partners face and i'm disgusted by him, i don't want to be touched i just want to curl up in a ball and feel nothing at all. What else... as soon as i started on Yasmin my skin went to hell became dry and itchy and blotchy, dead libido, pimples on my chest, it's just screwed with all my hormones, my hair is dry one second oily the next and it used great no effort, now my only option is to have it tied up all the time. I have also had major anxiety attacks and stress about minisucle things like not having anything to do! ridiculous.
I've tried other pills before with no prevail, i've decided to cease use of Yasmin and have given up on all pills...i say unless you allergic to laytex i say condoms are the way. I'd rather give up sex than live like this any longer.

I just switched to Yasmin 3 days ago after being on Ortho Evra (patch) for over 5 years (since I was 15, due to severe cramps). I had continual spotting on the patch, and a bit of nausea but other than that I felt normal. After 3 days on Yasmin, I am convinced it is not for me. The first two nights I took it, I felt mildly nauseous. I have been breaking out in very strange places over the past fews days (my neck and stomach) and I have had relatively clear skin for years. I've noticed I've been quite moody, crying very suddenly and constantly snapping at loved ones over the past few days but wrote at off as stress. Now I know that there is something not right. I took the pill at 10pm and felt find until 1am when I laid down to go to bed and felt VERY nauseous. I was somehow able to fall asleep but at 4am I woke up and vomitted 5 times. Two hours later and I still feel nauseous although I think (hope) the worst of it is over. I even called my poor mom who lives hours away in the middle of the night crying about how sick and sad I felt. Which I knew was ridiculous but I didn't know what else to do! I couldn't stop crying or throwing up! I am hoping to switch to Ortho Tricyclen or back to the patch. I never realized how good I had it!

I have been experiencing problems with the NuvaRing as well. After having my first ring in for just shy of two weeks, my hands and feet started itching a LOT. I just thought it was the change in weather and started lathering them with lotion thinking it would help. It didn't, and in fact, my symptoms worsened to hives on my butt, knees, and hands. My fingers swelled, along with my toes, making it painful to walk. I started researching side effects of NR and found several people having similar symptoms as me. At first I was worried that I was having an allergic reaction to the Gardasil (HPV) shot, which I got on Monday (the 15th), but my skin was starting to itch prior to my shot. After reading up on the NR, I'm starting to think that is what's causing my hives/welts and swelling! I already called my doctor about the swelling, because I thought it was from the Gardasil, but now that I'm almost certain that it's from the NR, I'm going to call them on Monday and tell them I need to stop using it. This is the 5th birth control I've been on in two years...it's getting ridiculous! They can't find one that works for me...the oral pills work for a month or two, and then I start breakthrough bleeding because the hormone levels are too low! I'm starting to think that my body rejects birth control, and that it's not for me! Is this possible?!

This is for all of you out there that are not sure if this is for you or not. I have been on several different kinds of bc pills and I have to say this one is the best one ever. I don't even need to be on the pill, I had my tubes tied after my twins were born (4 children) and I wanted to be back on the pill to regulate my hormones, because I didn't like myself, I was very moody and severe pms. I had one doc put me on antidepressants. Didn't work. I can tell everyone you do need to let this pill as with any pill or medication adjust to your body and eveybody adjusts differently. I have been on it for 2 1/2 months and I feel like a new person. Yes, I do have some nausea, so I take it at nightime. I had an extremely bad headache for the first week as with all the meds I take. My sex drive is better for the first time ever being on a pill. Tender breasts for the first 1 1/2 and I have had this problem for the past 20 years, very very bad and for the first time I can actually say that is pretty good. I have had a little spotting in the second month nothing to bad though. Yes I still get a little moody before my period, however I am a woman and there are no miracle drugs to totally eliminate that. I don't normally write on these sites however, I think everyone should give them self time to adjust to meds (3 months) before giving up. Hang in there and there is one out there that will work for you.

I've been on Doxy for 4 months now and Im lucky enough not to have this tingling of the legs and arm but i do get severe nausea, its ridiculous it gets to the point where i cant do anything but lie down and scarf saltine crackers slowly until it gets to my stomach and the Doxy bonds with it. Lately I've been noticing that I'm more tired, but mostly just in the last week and I've been on it for four months. I like to "pad" the pill, eat most of a meal , swallow the pill, and then finish the meal. I hate how inconvenient it is though, no dairy, or vitamins within 2hours, dairy is in a lot more than i once thought. Ive been sick more lately though and i can tell that just missing one day has a drastic effect on my acne :-(

When a class action lawsuit is filed, let me know....this drug should be taken of off the market immediately. We started all of this with an OB/GYN that prescribed this “miracle pill” and now have had to go not only to our primary doctor, but also a psychiatrist, gastrenologist, college campus counselors, psychologists, psychiatrist, and the campus medical doctors; All the while, accumulating enormous doctor bills. All the doctors say, "No, Yasmin won't cause those problems" (except the college campus doctors..wonder why? Hmm.. could it be that they are not in private practice?)....well, I beg to differ. Everyone needs to give this website to their doctor so the doctors can hear from the patients that have taken this drug, and not listen to the pharmaceutical companies that are pushing this drug to be the "miracle pill". Maybe if enough people complain and go to the media, we can get rid of this drug!
My daughter who is 18 was put on Yasmin because of irregular periods, hormonal imbalance, etc. We were told it was the new “miracle pill”. It will make you loose weight, regulate your periods, clear up acne, you name it, it will fix it. Yeah, right.
She started taking this pill in March 2007. She was off at college but called to tell me she was experiencing horrible headaches, behind the eyes. She complained about her stomach hurting, but we just figured it was the stress of freshman year at college. Then she said she got where she couldn’t eat when she went to a restaurant. When she came home in May for the summer, I noticed a total personality change. For example, she was always a neat freak, and now she wouldn’t clean her room. The first day when she drove home, she started crying she was so mad about the traffic. Yes, she has always had a little road rage, but this was ridiculous.
By June, not only could she not be in crowds, like at a restaurant, but now she is having full blown panic attacks and IBS. We called the OBGYN and they said, “Yasmin won’t cause this, go see your primary doctor”. I knew that the only thing that had changed with her was taking the YASMINE. I knew it had something to do with all of this so I “Googled Yasmin” and this website (http://www.medications.com/se/yasmin) was the first one I looked at. All of her symptoms matched everyone else’s! I am so glad we found this website, it explained everything and I had her to stop Yasmin immediately.
So we went to the primary doctor, explained about the Yasmin and how we thought it was the culprit of everything. Of course this doctor also says, “Yasmin won’t cause that”. We told him to look it up on the internet and see how there are over 3000 complaints on this drug, more than any of the other drugs on the market.
Besides the emotional problems she starting having, her pulse and blood pressure was sky high, so he puts her on medicine for that, and puts her on an anxiety medicine and sends her to a psychiatrist. She is very thirsty all the time, and develops IBS. She can’t eat without having pains in her stomach. So, now we’ve have gone from having just irregular periods, to all of the above, plus a psychiatrist.
The psychiatrist doubles her medicine (and puts her Pamine for the IBS) because the panic attacks are gone, but she still is having a lot of nervousness, anxiety, can’t sleep at night, crazy thoughts, worrying all the time, etc. A month later he changes her medicine again, to Effexor. The first 2 weeks, she does okay, but the packet doubles the strength after 2 weeks. It takes 4 weeks for it to take full effect. Right after she doubles this medicine, it is like her senses are on hyper-mode. She can taste everything that is in her food (chili powder, seasonings, etc…), taste the metal in water, and she can hear someone’s phone vibrating, in another room.
Then she goes back to college at the end of August 2007, and it’s horrible. The Effexor is having bad, bad side effects. We called the psychiatrist that she was using at home and he doubled the dose. That was the worse thing they could’ve done. The side effects were worse than ever. I had her to immediately go to a psychiatrist on campus. She told him the whole story and he believed her! Needless to say we switched doctors. He then lowered her dose back down to ½ a dose and hopefully can slowly get her off of all this medicine.
The newest thing she has developed is being hypoglycemic. The campus psychiatrist sent her to a campus medical doctor and he told her that they would get to the bottom of this. He tested her for everything under the sun. Low blood sugar is the only thing they found. But, she hasn’t taken the Yasmin since May. No telling what the results would have came back like if it was done at the time she was taking Yasmin.
Thank goodness she has counselors and doctors there at the campus that believes that Yasmin can cause all of these problems, and are working with her. From what I have read from the people that have used this medicine, although most doctors do not agree, Yasmin takes like 6 months to get out of your system. I think I am going to believe the testimonials of the people who take this medicine, over a doctor who prescribes it.
If everyone goes to the media, their doctors, the FDA, congressmen, and make them aware of these horrible effects, surely we can get this drug off of the market! Does anyone know a class action lawyer that would pursue this? For my child to have to go through all of this is ridiculous, not to mention costly. What do we know of the long term effects this drug will have if it is doing all of this when you first start taking it?
If you have the same concerns as me about this drug, and would be interested in looking into a class action lawsuit, please email: ****** I would be interested to see how many would want to pursue this.

I had my asthma re-evaluated just recently and was put on advair...that was about 10 DAYS ago, and since I began using it I have been waking up in the middle of the night, having nightmares and disturbing dreams, mood swings and swelling in my throat. Worst of all, I have been having MORE tightness in my chest and trouble breathing! I really felt ridiculous telling my family that I thought my sleep, mood and breathing problems were related to an asthma medication, but finding this site and hearing other stories not only comforts me but convinces me to stop taking advair regardless of what my doctor says!!

I am so glad I found this site. I chose Mirena because the copper IUD was giving me heavy bleeding , so this appeared to be the great solution.
The bleeding decreased but at the same time other symptoms appeared.
After eight months of visiting doctors of all kinds, taking pills for deppression, and going on never-ending diets, I found a doctor whom I have never seen before, and he looked at the facts from a distance.
It was him who suggested that Mirena could possibly have something to do with my gain loss (22 pounds) , mood changes, hair loss, incredible bloating of my stomach after eating and tiredness.
Reading this experiences only made me more certain to have it removed as soon as possible , hoping to get back to my old self soon.

This is not my experience but my mothers; She's been taking this poison for 8 years. Her doctor finally(though her bagering) has her at 5 mgs. a day but it's already too late, her spine has had disc fractures to the point where she is completely hunched over, when she first started the drug she had normal bone density. Now her doc wants her sed rate to be 19 before he even considers taking her off the drug, which is ridiculous since I read that most women over 50 average s hard. My brother and I help with some shopping and things but both of us have other obligations(he works full-time; I have husband and two kids) so my dad has alot on his plate.

Prednisone destroys the body, eventually, and sometimes it makes the original condition look like a cakewalk.

my sister has been on the nuva ring for a year now and she loves it and told me to try it. I wanted to go on the pill to lessen my horrible cramps that i experience during my period. I have been on the NR for 3 weeks and I got my period before taking the ring out and my period was much heavier and I have the WORST cramps ever. Ive also noticed that I have been crying over stupid things and I feel depressed. I took it out today and I will not put another one in. Ill deal with my cramps I had in the past because the cramps I experienced on the NR was ridiculous.

Surprisingly i have been ok on this pill. i was on yasmin, then switched to yaz (which was the worst pill ever! i had my period for over 3 weeks on that pill). I've just started on Femcon, and it immediately stopped my breakthrough bleeding. the only side affect i think im experiencing is the headaches! i've been really stressed lately so i dont know if it has to do with that or the pill. also i have been REALLY tired a lot. i seem to wake up, do something then want to crawl back to bed for a few hours. anyone else get tired on this pill? other than that, the pill is actually working. now if we could just fix these headaches...

I'm glad to know that there are other women out there with similar problems as me. I recently became engaged, sexually active and with that, became a new user of the Ring. It was reccomended to me by two family member s who love it and would never go back to all the other methods they'd tried in the past. I, however, am not as lucky as they are. I put it in on the first day of my period, as directed. My period lasted about 8 days when it usually lasts five and I had brown spotting for the rest of the month. Intercourse became very painful for me from the get-go. It was like a burning sensation and it was horrible enough that my fiance and I have not done it for two weeks. I went in to my gyno and she said I had a yeast infection and that the Ring was healthy for the vagina because the vagina LIKES the hormones in it and that the Ring should improve the atmosphere in the vagina, if anything. So, I've had two UTI's and a yeast infection since putting it in, bleeding after intercourse, maddening headaches, cramps, ACNE (which it is suppose to clear up), and severe mood swings. But, my doc won't switch me to the pill because she thinks that my body will adjust. I guess I'll just give it some more time and, if it doesn't straighten up within another couple of weeks, I'll demand something else because this just is not working for me as I had hoped it would!

I started Yasmin three years ago. It was great, lighter periods, fewer cramps, less acne. About a year ago, I noticed my left arm would kind of be numb. Then two months ago, I started getting light-headed and dizzy. I went to the emergency room, they couldn't find anything wrong. They said I had a panic attack, but I knew that it wasn't that. I'm a very calm, happy person. I went to a doctor, said I had fluid in my ear, prescribed Antivert, didn't help. Went to another doctor, did an ecg, glucose test, nothing. Said I should go to a neurologist. I didn't because I don't have insurance and I suspected that it was probably the Yasmin. In fact, I asked each doctor if it could be the pill, since this was the only thing I was taking and they said no. Went to an ENT, found nothing. Finally, I just decided to go off the pill, got better, but still having dizzy spells and migraines. It's driving me crazy. Missing work, social engagements. I had the brown spots and vaginal discharge. That I could deal with, but this is ridiculous!

Hi all. I was diagnosed 3 or 4 years ago with epilepsy. So far, I have on about 5 different epilepsy meds. I can't recall the first 3 but had to get off them because of physical side-effects. My last one was Dilatin which worked pretty well for a year. I slept great - 8 hours on the dot. Then, I started to have short seizures that began to successively lengthen. So, I was switched to Keppra.

I started at 250mg/2xday on Keppra and now am up to 1000mg/2xday. I also started taking B6 100mg/day. A couple of days after starting Keppra, I started to get slight headaches. These went away after about 2 weeks. I also got a numb patch on the same place on the bottom of each foot. When I went up to 500mg/2xday, the numb patch spread, I started to feel off-balance, and I started to get the "rage" symptoms. I went up to 1000mg/2xday and most of the bottom of my two feet went numb and cold, I began to get slight tingling in my fingers and a mild case of tightness in my chest. I still felt off-balance and the rage symptoms were there. It began to get hard to get to sleep and I would get up unnecessarily early and not be able to fall back asleep. I want off this med. Maybe it works great for other people but for me it I take it at the levels I need to, I won't be able to work or do much of anything.

I started Yasmin 4 days ago, and I cannot for the life of me fall asleep. I feel like my brain is ON all the time. I have heartburn and dry mouth as well. The nausea is ridiculous too. I am on wellbutrin, and have been for months, so I am pretty sure its not that. However, my depressive thoughts are back. I am guessing this is not the pill for me. Ortho-tricyclin did the same thing to me

I am due to start my third pack of YAZ, and I am getting off today. My dr. gave me a three month trial after I switched from ortho-tricyclin low because I had break-through bleeding. I realize with any contraceptive there are going to be side-effects, but this is ridiculous... I have had extreme fatigue, I am sleepy all the time. I also feel like I cannot think clearly, like my head is clogged or something. I also feel very anxious and this feeling like I am going to pass out. Also my eyes feel very dry and unfocused. Nothing is worth feeling like this, and it is very obvious that all these symptoms are coming from this pill. I am scared to try anything else!

I have taken short courses of trimethoprim in the past with no obvious problems but this time was prescribed a longer course of tablets. In my case it was the effects on mood which were most scary, although after five days (-having just discovered this site and decided to stop taking the drug early) I have a very sensitive mouth and tongue- and have also experienced a feeling of fullness and congestion in my sinuses and throat similar to that described by others. The effects on mood were unpredictable but occurred about an hour after taking the morning does and seemed to then wane by the late afternoon. I had feelings of aggression (road rage) anxiety and paranoia. I developed the shakes and cried. I also felt generally depressed for the first time in my life and as though I could not be bothered to do anything. I didnt mention this to my GP when I went for a check up as I thought it sounded ridiculous but will call him asap to report what I experienced and also what I have read on this site.

I was on a 225mg daily dose of Effexor for about two weeks before I started to ween myself off because it was doing nothing for my situation, causing ridiculous dehydration, and possibly causing mood swings. I haven't taken any for just over a month and every day I'm still getting the same extreme light-headedness that I got the first time I missed a dose. I have no idea how long this is going to last, and I'm sick of it.

I urge anyone who is researching this medication and considering starting it to reconsider. Tell your doctor you would rather try something different first.

I have been on Toprol for 10 months now. I have never felt this awful in my life. (I have an appointment with a Cardiologist next month to get off of it.) My BP is currently 180/120 which is ridiculous. The anxiety is so awful that now I have to be medicated for that. I have also experienced incredible itching from the nerve endings in my skin and am medicated for that as well. I was wondering if anyone has experienced that side effect.

I had my first Lupron shot on Jan 22, 07 to shrink an ovarian cyst that measured almost 4 inches. The hot flashes are quite ridiculous and wake me up every hour or so at night. I go from feeling so hot to so cold so fast. Also experiencing some joint paint - but I also have a mild form of Lupus and it could be related to that. Feel nauseous every couple of weeks. No periods. Other than that, until I get my next ultrasound to see if the cyst is shrinking, I have been quite happy with Lupron. It's not been fun, but it's better than the unbearable pain near the end of every period that kept me in bed for 2 days at a time. I've not felt any abdominal pain since early January so I'm hoping that means it's working. I feel awful for those who have had a horrible experience.

I've been on Topamax for nearly a month now. My biggest complaint is I can't remember whether I'm coming or going! It's ridiculous. The toe tingling went away after a couple of weeks. The abdominal pain isn't as bad as it has been. I cannot tolerate taking my 100mg dose in divided doses during the day because it makes me sleepy at work, so I take them both at night. I've had two headaches since beginning this new medication. Good ol' Imitrex injection saved the day both times, but that was after the vomiting subsided and I was able to pack my head in ice. I have been moody, quick to anger one minute and sad and near tears the next. At 52, I've suffered migraines since I was 3. I'm irritated by people who can function, ie: walk around, laugh, joke etc. while touting they have a "migraine" while those of who really suffer are looked at by others as if we are slackers, crazy, or "drug seekers". I just wish someone would come out with something, anything that would work without any side effects whatsoever...but doesn't everybody, for every disease.
