I don't know if the lisinopril is the cause but I have had may things going on and something caused them. My feet and legs itch until they feel like there on fire. My hair seems to have just died. It's crisp and breaks off when I comb it. I have used all kinds of products trying to strengthen my hair but no luck. My pinky finger and the ring finger on my left hand have been nump for several months. When I comb through my hair I hit a spot that shoots pain to my right ear. My doc said the numb fingers was from proping my elbo on my desk. He said it would go away if I propped it on something padded. So for several months now I have used a foam pad about an inch thick to prop it on. There still numb. And the muscle in that had has weakened. In Aug. I was rushed to the hospital. my potassium was very low. My colon was infected. My kidneys were infected. My temp was 104. My whole body was shutting down. Im still taking the lisinopril 20/25. I am calling my doctor tomorrow and tell him im not taking it anymore. Im so glad I found this site. Now I at least have an idea why im falling apart.

Wow, wish I had read this a long time ago. I have been on Vytorin 10/10 for 2+ years. Have many of the same complications as posted by others. Numbness in the hands and arms and severe joint pain in my elbows(I am not a tennis player, or anything remotely close to that) has just started to increase over the last month. Never made the connection until now. And the sleepiness!...I just feel like I could sleep all day everyday!...Now, this is one that I haven't seen in other posts, and am curious if anyone else has noticed capsule shaped things in your stool? They are almost a yellowish color and I would say about the size of a ring finger tip from the top joint to the tip of your finger? Part of me just assumed it was the Vytorin taking the cholesterol out of my system, but now I am worrying it could be something more. Any replies are appreciated, and last night, I took my last dose of Vytorin!

I have had my Mirena in for about 3 years, and I HATE it!!!! I'm getting it taken out this month. I have sever cramps when I'm supposed to be having my period, and then I have a milky brown discharge for my period. I'm 28 years old and I feel bad for my husband, because I have absolutely NO sex drive at all. I'm always moody, I get so angry I cry. When I met my husband 4 years ago, I was 35lbs lighter, now I have put on the 35lbs almost 40lbs back on. I have pimples that are like mountains and I can't get rid of them. I never want to do anything, but sleep. I sleep all the time, when I'm not a work. I don't have any children and I don't recommend having it put in when you haven't had children. It's a pain that I have never had before. My hands and feet have swelled, so much that I have to buy a size bigger in shoes, and my ring finger has an impression from my wedding ring now.

If you have the Mirena get rid of it!!! It's horrible. I have noticed that I shed a lot more, my hair comes out a lot. I have to just my lint roller on my car seat all the time. My back hurts all of the time, even when my husband has given me a massage, I have tired several medications for back pain and non of them have touched the pain that I'm in all the time.

i had my mirena taken out October 08 as i am 40 this year and wanted to have another child.i had suffered with terrible back aches and tiredness with the coil in so was revealed to finally have it taken out thinking all would go back to normal and that it would only take me a short time to conceive as i always had done in the past. now i find that my cycle will only last about 3 weeks and a couple of days. after i have ovulated i find that i feel very sicky really really tired, i feel dizzy and find it hard to focus sometimes my boobs will stay very tender right up until my period has kicked in and i can feel very low for no reason. i never had any of these symptoms before the mirena and i am still trying to fall pregnant. i no my gp will say its my age but i don't believe that i am still very young for my age and take care of myself. this is all since having the mirena.

My father was prescribed Avelox last week. This is the second time he has had this medication. The first time was when is was coming home from the hospital in May 08 with pneumonia. This time..a week ago same illness. The first time it was given to him he suffered inner ear swelling. That was not so bad. However, this time, he moved his foot to the side and when doing so felt a "pop" on the top of his foot. He could not stand on his foot....swollen and sore. Could not walk without assistance. Next, his ring finger on his right hand woke him up hurting. The finger was red, swollen and could not stand being touched. It ached and the other fingers swelled also. Took him back to doctor and he said very bad reaction to Avelox. Not sure yet if tendon is ruptured, however he was given a cortisone shot and seems to be helping with reaction. Pneumonia is gone. So is this medicine. He will not be given this medicine ever again. Very bad drug with very bad side effects.

I am very glad I found this site. I have been taking Prilosec OTC for 3 years now and it took care of my acid reflux. I woke up 6 months ago feeling like my "funny bone" got hit but never subsided. I then learned it was possibly my ulna nerve. Burning sensation in my left pinky finger and half my ring finger. Anyone experienced this? I switched to a generic Omeprazole at Walgreens a couple of weeks ago and I have experienced the most excruciating sharp, shooting pain in my neck, shoulders and lower back and sometimes other joint areas. Anyone experience this with the generic brand? I am going off of it and see what happens. The pain is intense!!! Thanks for this site!

I am so happy to hear this from all of you!! I am 26 years old and was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease at 17. About 2 years ago my doctor switched me to Levoxyl and my whole life has changed. I got really irritable around my best friend's kids, sharp pain in my left ring finger, TOTAL LACK OF SEX DRIVE (which everyone thought was psychological), and I've become a total couch potato. My relationship with my boyfriend of two year has been up and down because of the lack of sex and laziness. I'm calling my doctor and asking to be switched from this. I am so happy all of you have written about this. Please keep me updated if changing meds has helped at all?

I have a question to any and all of you who have posted. I have similar symptoms to just about all of you minus any rash but mostly I have pain and some weakness in my right side particularly my shoulder and arm with some tremors in my pinky and ring finger and some pain and weakness in my right thigh. Insomnia and anxiety have also been a big part of the symptoms. Additionally when I take a hot shower my fingers twitch really bad then subside after about an hour...weird. My question is to some of you who have been going through this for some time is does this subside or even better go away over time? I have been off this stuff for just about a month now and things seem to be a little better but it might be that I am just getting used to the symptoms. Thanks

I had my mirena placed after my 2nd son was born and have had irritability on my ring finger-like an eczema almost- where the platinum irritates the area so much that I cannot wear my wedding band.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

I took Toprol for almost 2 years then in Aug generic came out Metoprolol and I switched over. I was taking 25mg. After a few weeks, I noticed numbness in my index finger and middle finger. Then it happened in other hand. Doc said I had tendinitis in one hand and slept wrong on the other...I was also depressed and having panic attacks. From the onset of taking Toprol my sleep was disturbed, but thought it was age related. Once I went on Metoprolol insomnia set in. Then my feet went cold and numb and my arms were so heavy and tingly and my joints hurt. My right shin hurt to touch as well. Vision was cloudy and had trouble adjusting to light changes. Finally it dawned on my that the changes occurred about the time I started the generic. I went back to doc and he pretty much told me I was crazy, prescribed Xanax and a session with a psychiatrist! He switched me back to Toprol and I felt no better then he switched me to
Atenolol with same result. By this time, my chest was on fire and I had extreme difficultly breathing. Called doc and he told me to stop cold turkey. I did and thought I was going to die one day. Throat closed up blood pressure soared. He stopped me on Nov 11 or 12th. I have been on nothing. Blood pressure is not leveled. When I first sit down it is like 140/93. If I wait a few minutes it goes down to 120/80 or a little lower. I was expecting to feel a lot better by this point in the game. I still have numbness in my pinky and ring finger and in my toes. If I take Advil it lessens to where it is not so bothersome. Anyone know how long this stuff takes to get out of your system? I am shopping for a new doc since mine know things I am a hypo. I am a 39 yr old female with no other health issues. Was originally put on for stress related palps.

At age 71, in excellent health and rarely seeing a physician except for minor skin irritations, I experienced a mild TIA and to be on the safe side, checked into the Emergency room. Among the medications recommended were Lipitor which I began taking regularly. Within less that 6 weeks, I'd developed a heart murmur, had an echocardiogram and was told that I'd developed a severe stenosis. The murmur was not present at the time of my TIA or a month later.

After about another month, I was walking the dog and began to experience fatigue and muscle soreness. At the same time, my left little and ring finger began to 'fall asleep' with tingling and loss of a sense of touch. That has continued for several months.

By the following day, the sense of fatigue upon any moderate activity was like being hit by a truck, it was sudden, unremitting and would only relieve with rest. Any attempt to walk more than 100 yards was out of the question.

I talked to 3 different specialists, none of them were willing to listen to me when I suggested that the cause of this was linked to Lipitor. By now, I had taken myself off of it and have not resumed.

I believe that the Lipitor also caused renal insufficiency which I'd only begun to experience after taking it.

The most difficult part of dealing with this problem is finding a physician who is willing to listen. Presently, the neuropathy is 24/7 but the generalized weakness has not gotten any worse and seems to be permanent.

As I read others complaints, mine are limited to the physical, there's been no effect mentally other than insomnia.

Hello,
My journey with Minera started in September 2005, two months after the birth of my second daughter.

Previous to the insertion of Minera and the birth of my daughter I was under the care of a rheumatologist for chronic knee and foot pain. I was never diagnosed with any specific disease or disorder. When I became pregnant with my daughter in May 2004 all of my pain vanished. I stopped seeing the doctor and had a normal pregnancy.

My pain symptoms started to return shortly after I gave birth and in September 2005 I decided to have Minera put in. I had no problems with the insertion and after bleeding for about 6 weeks my period stopped. I had some cramping here and there but no more period. I felt great!

My pain symptoms worsened over time and I developed more problems. none of which I related to Minera. My problems were:

Terrible joint pain and swelling in my knees
Pain that radiates from my lower back to my feet
Pain in my right ring finger
Stiffness
TMJ
Insomnia
Hair loss
Weight gain
Irritability
Mood swings
Scarring acne
Fatigue
Lack of interest in sex
Swelling in my feet

I started to believe I had something really wrong with me. I did research and found a lot of my symptoms were in sync with Fibromyalgia. I started seeing a new rheumatologist who did tons of blood work and x-rays on me. After all the results came back she said I did not test positive for anything. She diagnosed my with rheumatoid arthritis because I had all the clinical symptoms. She prescribed prednisone and placqunel (sp?) for the arthritis which seems to be helping.

I was on a parenting forum I frequent the other day and I saw a post form a woman complaining about all the side effects of Minera. I did some research and found this site and another
http://curezone.com/forums/f.asp?f=713
It's like a light bulb went off. All of these things that I have been suffering with seem to be related to the IUD.

So I would like to hear from some of you ladies that have had Minera removed already. Do you feel better? Are your side effects gone?
Also has anyone removed Minera themselves?

I have been on Wellbutrin for two weeks. About four days ago I began having joint pain and swelling in just my left hand, middle and ring finger knuckles. It is swollen and getting worse, not better. Has anyone experienced joint pain in just a specific area and not all over with Wellbutrin?

I was put on Lipitor over a year ago. I began having memory problems last Sept. and even asked for an Alzheimer's test. Thing got worse, I now have constant pins and needles in my middle and ring finger of my right hand. My hands ache all the time, and I am constantly on pain killers for the severe pain in my shoulders, thighs and lower legs and my feet.

I have also developed the shuffling walk, and sometimes I cannot decide which foot to put forward first, which is as I understand it a sign of Parkinson's. Today I saw a Neuropath specialist he used a machine which gave me little electric shocks, I will not learn the results of this test until I go back and see the specialist who has diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia. I am also severely depressed mostly because I stopped taking the Lipitor several weeks ago and I am getting worse not better. I feel about 30 years older than my age of 65.

I printed out some of the material I found on the net about the dangers of Statins and gave it to one of my doctors, but so far none of them acknowledge that Statins are responsible. Oh yes and my memory is still as bad. I am seriously thinking of making arrangements for my funeral.

When I refused to take Lipitor the doctor tried to prescribe a different drug but the pharmacist told me that it has the same effects as Statins, so refused to take the prescription.

I have already started taking CoQ10 and Vitamin C.

I've been on simvastatin for about 8 years - recently increased to 20mg pd. Side-effects seem to match up very closely with other posters. Back and shoulder pain, often quite acute. Pain in left side under ribs. Various stomach pains and a general feeling of being unwell. Recently had treatment for trigger finger on right hand.
I'm fairly certain that the longer one takes this medication,
a/ the side-effects gradually get worse and
b/ the side-effects last longer when you stop taking the drug.

I developed a twitch in the left side of my face and I think it is from Fosomax. It started after I went on that drug, but I also went on other drugs and didn't know which it was. I also have hip and joint problems but had attributed it to arthritis. My right hand is a problem and I can't bend my ring finger. Suspect all of this is Fosomax.

After my first Zometa infusion, I experienced flu-like symptoms for the following day: fatigue, overall achiness. I stayed in bed. A prominent doctor advised me to take Decadron and Tylenol prior to my next monthly infusion. This took care of the flu-ish symptoms, but kept me up at night for a couple of nights. Next time I'm going to try going without the pre-treatment and see if it was just a one-time thing.

However, after 5 or 6 treatments I've developed a new side effect: my left ring finger is stiff and achy in the joint, most of the day, slightly painful, and it "clicks" when I bend it. Have others experienced this? Do you have a cure?

Adrienne
