I've had cortisone injections for my ruptured disk at L5-S1. They have been extremely helpful to me. I don't think I'd be around if they hadn't have helped me like they did. They are my saving grace. Although, it is important to note that not all doctors are the same at giving the shots. The first few I had never worked, then I went to someone else who specializes in the shots and has a great reputation for them and he has helped me every time.

I would always be extra stiff for 2 days to 1 week after a shot, and sometimes it would take me 2-3 weeks to feel the full effects.

I have what looks like Cushing's Syndrome possibly brought on by the 2 injections I have had. I was also hospitalized with viral meningitis. I haven't been able to work or travel in more than a month and I am still home on the couch recovering. Can anyone help us get justice for this? I can't believe the Dr.'s are continuing to use this drug! Mine was given in the epidural space which is not recommended according to the drug label itself!
I have a list of symptoms 2 pages long including the irregular periods. After the second shot, given 4 weeks after the first, I had a 15 day period, and these strange, dark, periods are continuing on and off even today.
If anyone knows about web page design, maybe we can get enough of us together to contact an attorney and change some laws. This CANNOT continue! Enough of us have suffered the effects of this.

The doctors say it's not from the steroid shot. I take a sleep aid pill to help me sleep. Good news is my pain is gone.

My husband had back surgery in June of 2005. They were suppose to operate on L4,L5, and S1 but instead they operated on L2 and L3. After surgery mu husband was referred to pain management. They did epidural lumbar injections with 80cc of Kenalog every 2 weeks for 6 months. The doctors just told us that we are going to give you injections. They didn't tell us anything else. These injections were given in the L4,L5 and S1 region. On top of all of the injections my husband has heart disease and high blood pressure which the doctors knew this before the injections. NOW we have been told by 3 different doctors that there is nothing that they can do. Also, they have told us that my husband is on limited yime and they only trying to make him comfortable. But we can't get no doctors to put this in writing so I can get help at home for my husband. My husband on only 52 years old. My husband has developed a rash, skin flaking off, muscles lost, weakness, can't walk, and etc.

I had an injection of Kenalog on Tuesday, Feb.21, 2006, between L5 and S1, right and left side. The following day I had flushing in my face and neck. I had also hit the back of my hand on that day. When I looked at my hand it had a small round bump on it. I didn't think too much of it until I looked down about 15 minutes later. The small bump turned into a VERY large bump, taking up about 1/4 of the top of my hand. I immediately put ice on it and it did not get any larger but it didn't get smaller either.

I called the Dr.'s office and was told that I was having an allergic reaction to the Kenalog as far as the flushing went. He prescribed Vistaril for the flushing and told me to put hot compresses on my hand the next day.

The hot compresses was supposed to break up the blood clot but so far it hasn't. Yesterday I noticed that the skin below the clot is very discolored (kind of red and kind of purple.

He said that the combination of Kenalog with the Plavix and full dose of aspirin I take daily made my blood vessels very weak and one broke.

I also experienced chest pains the night of the injections. As yet, I am still not feeling very well.

I had no clue there would be so many adverse side effects and wonder if I should continue with treatment. He told me they would not use Kenalog again but they would have me take Benadryl before the next injections and take Vistaril afterwards. If I do this, how will I know if I am allergic to the next drug?
