Hi All!
I promised to let you know, and it has been 5 months since I had my Mirena removed and I feel GREAT!!!!!!!!! I have energy, patience; I’m a better mother, and a better wife! I sleep like a baby at night, my skin cleared up, and I lost nearly 11 pounds now!!
My doctor denies any correlation to the Mirena, but we all know! I feel better!
I say TAKE IT OUT!!!!
PS: the Sales Rep for Mirena in our area fell pregnant ... with the Mirena still inside!!!! And my doctor told me it is as save as a hysterectomy...!

I had my Mirena removed today. February 24th will now be a celebratory anniversary for me. I'll keep you all posted in a couple weeks on the changes - and I anticipate good changes & things returning to normal :-)

I'm so grateful I found this site. It was a matter of 4 days: from the time Friday when I finally made the connection to my host of issues & side effects - till today - it's gone. I called my doctor Monday (yesterday) and they fit me in today. He was genuinely sorry for all the trouble it's caused me and he said, "Let's get that thing out of you".I was shocked though - he said I was his FIRST patient to have all these symptoms (he's heard of patients having a couple) in all his years of inserting Mirena! I believe him - I adore my OB/GYN. He asked for my permission to share my experience with Mirena with his Mirena sales rep who visits him twice monthly. I said sure - but like that's gonna do any good! They don't care about the few thousand of us suffering....as long as they can sell that much & more to women who do well with Mirena, I firmly believe they won't do anything about it (orn care much) for those of us for had adverse reactions and whose lives basically fell apart.

Things are looking up for me from this forward though!

I was put on Lipitor 10 mg. last Spring about 8 mos. ago. I have never taken medications/drugs other than aspirin or Motrin or antihistamines. Since that time I have had a strange combination of unexplained symptoms arise throughout the months. These sx's included: Headaches, stiff neck and severe neck pain, acute shoulder pain, hip pains, joint pains, severe knee pain (tendon or Ligament problems?) and loss of movement, hair loss, jaw pain and some memory confusion. Initially, I had severe HA's for several months, but attributed them to stress, however, I had never experienced HA's as a common occurrence. Then we went away to our Maui house to get away from stress, HA's continued, along with leg and shoulder pains. At the same time, I started noticing several strands of hair falling out if lightly touched my hair to move it out of my face. The pains seemed to move around my body at different times, for no apparent reason. I am used to daily exercise, living in CO in the mountains @ high altitude, not usually having muscle soreness. Now, given my leg and knee pains have gotten so bad, I cannot hike and have difficulty climbing my stairs. Skiing is out. Snorkeling caused leg cramps. No explained reason for having muscle tenderness or soreness without my usual exercise at present time. When the pain leaves one area it tends to arise in a different part of my body. At the present time, my hair loss has subsided, as also my jaw pain and headaches. However, my leg pains and knee pains are so acute (for no apparent reason) it is impossible to exercise and difficult to walk that I looked up adverse reactions to Lipitor, finding all my sx's most probably might be attributed to this drug. Partially my fault for not looking up RX information prior, especially being a medical professional for many years. My husband kept throwing away the info when purchasing the RX. Too many unexplained symptoms, I decided to obtain the drug info. myself. I tended to make excuses for months, such as: I am getting older, under stress, must be an old injury, not exercising properly, need PT therapy etc.... I am dc/ing the drug immediately and have an appt. with my MD on 1/5/09 to discuss.

Moderately high cholesterol and BP 150/90. Was put on Lipitor 20mg and after a week felt more fatigued than usual but nothing much more than this. Had stress test and angiogram which showed 60-70% block in one artery as well as arrhythmia. Cardiologist bumped Lipitor up to 80 mg which I took for 2 weeks. But by then I was suffering most of the effects described in these postings: aches and pains, giddiness, nausea, extreme weakness and fatigue. I took myself off Lipitor and even after one day my head started to clear aches started to diminish, though urine still a reddish color suggesting a lot more flushing out required. And, best of all, the arrhythmia reduced from moderate/severe to mild (which it always used to be before taking Lipitor). This drug is not for me. I'd rather take my chances without it and rely on strict diet, weight loss, etc. It is surprising that the possible side effects are so understated in the manufacturer's descriptions.

This medication f----- me up! It made me hate my job so much that I had panic attacks before going to work. I've had extreme mood swings and severe paranoia. I am a nurse and I have never been worried about catching anything but all of a sudden I thought I had all sorts of diseases. Also, I was exhausted all the time!! It got so bad that I felt like I couldn't get out of bed. I had no motivation and I couldn't concentrate on anything. Then I started getting a rash that would come and go which only fed into my paranoia. I've never had any of these problems and I couldn't figure out what could be wrong with me until I saw this website. I have been off of singulair for several days and I have already noticed a difference in my mood.

symptoms ---- paranoia, nausea/stomach pains, depression, rash, anxiety

This message goes out to ocexpert. I sent you a private email concerning your post made to me about bc. You did not respond so I will let everyone know that you work for the company. Of course you are going to push your companys product. The more you sell the more you make. Thanks to a tip from another member that posted. She fiqured you out. I WILL NEVER TAKE ANYTHING MADE FROMWARNER CHILCOTT AGAIN. This bc pill loestrin that you so highly speak of has cost me 8.000 in medical bills due to the dpression and everything else I had mentioned in previous post. You have made very hurtful post to not only me to several other people on this board. We are here to share or stories with others. I cannot sleep at night knowing what this pill has done to not only me but to several others. Maybe warner chilcott would like to pay my medical bills now. If I were you I would stay off these boards. If any of you ladies have realized that the doctors offices are stocked with femcon and loestrin. They do not have many samples of other drugs. This crap is toxic. If it works for you great but if not get on somthing else.

After by-pass heart surgery in 2002, my cardilogist put me on 40mg of zocor.
I was in good health with no physical limitations. I had no heart damage. The restriction of heart arteries were found due to my stress test that was performed each year as a part of my annual Physical. After surgery I was on zocor for three years, during that time I experienced a little tiredness, little weakness, a little muscle aches. some tingling in my right arm and shoulder. I went to my heart doctor Jan. 2006 and he changed me to vytorin (10mg zetia and 40mg zocor). about 6 months all of the about symptoms got worse.
By Jan. 2007, my muscles became so stiff, I could not walk, had balance problems, severe muscle aches and cramps, numbness and tingling in both arms and hands, also stifness and pain in my hands, stiffness and pain in both feet, stifness and pain in my back and weird nerve sensations over my entire body. During Jan. and Feb 2007, I was seen by my family doctor, a neurologist, and a muscle doctor. Thanks to the internet, I found info on zocor and zetia, which is the drug vytorin. Warnings described the same symptoms I am experiencing. I stopped vytorin, I am not taking any statins drugs now. My doctor order a blood test to check for muscle damage, It indicated severe damage, a Creatine level of 770. This level should not be over 200. After being off the drugs for 30 days the creatine level dropped to 645. My condition has improved by 25%. I am walking a little better, but I still having muscle problems, there is improvement. I think there will be a very long recovery. There seems to be some evidence that these Statins affect people of age much more than the young. I am 70 years old. PLEASE PEOPLE, IF YOU ARE TAKING STATINS DRUGS, STOPPED NOW! SLOVE YOUR CHOLESTROL PROBLEMS BY OTHER MEANS. Since I stopped my cholestrol has gone from 157 to 280, but I am not going back taking these drugs. I am trying the natural way now. I have read post after post on many web-sites of people with the same symptoms that were using these drugs. The drug companies and the FDA are responsible for the the degradation of people's health taking these statin drugs.

To guest 22405 The pain you have sometimes moves from your breast area (that's where mine started) into your shoulders, knees, ankles etc. I hope that isn't the case foryou but should that happen, you will probably have pain for awhile. Get a lawyer and sue your doctor and maybe he'll be more careful about reading the information that comes with a drug instead of hearing all the good stuff froma sales rep from the manufacturer. Good luck to you

Someone mentioned the their doctor resisting the idea of Zocor causing muscle cramps. Here's why they resist. Believe it or not, and according to a senior sales rep from a major pharmiceutical company whom I know, most physicians receive compensation for prescribing certain medications to patients. If you look for this practice on websites in the United Kingdom for example, it is clearly a well documented, open practice there, however this practice is frowned upon by many in the U.S. so it is not formally acknowledged. I too recently quit years of Zocor therapy realizing that it was causing fatigue.
