My 17 yr old son was prescribed Prednisone along with Accutane for Acne. His two older brothers had undergone accutane treatment when they were each 17 ish, with no major side effects - no mental disorders at all. They did not have Prednisone along with the accutane. I questioned why my youngest son should go on the prednisone but was assured by my trusted dr. of 35 years that his very low dose of 20mg a day would be no problem. We continued the dosage for 3 months and then tapered off for 3 weeks. That's when my son's trouble began. He felt a change immediately - things didn't seem 'real', he has a hard time describing the feelings. At two weeks after discontinuing the prednisone his symptoms really began to be very frightening. He is athletic and was vomiting for extended periods - probably due to the stress of what was going on in his head. We then saw 2 GPs, his Dermatologist and I contacted a Psychiatrist, His father and I didn't want him to progress to antidepressants and he does seem to be improving - nothing like some of the other stories contained here. I just wish we had NEVER gone on this - even at 20mg - for something like acne. NOT life threatening - I should have listened to my gut and just stuck with the Accutane.

Worst night of my life--woke up feeling filled with anxiety, insomnia, had to get up repeatedly to urinate, felt very agitated, though I felt very peaceful & relaxed at bedtime, feet were swollen so badly I couldn't put on my shoes. I took 10 mg of Benadryl, which did not change how I felt. My internist took me off the Singulair immediately, when I contacted him the next morning.

Despite being on an antidepressant which was recently increased, very recently I felt sad, anxious, and was crying all the time, felt irritable, and was chronically tired. I took 400mg of gabapentin (Neurontin), prescribed for nerve pain, numbness, tingling in both hands & feet at 9 p.m. Just before bedtime at 10:00 I'd take 10 mg Singulair. 1-2 hours later I was wide awake, sometimes not sleeping for hours or at all, even after taking 1-2 Benadryl, without the dyes.

Over the past two years I've had eczema, for which I saw 2 different dermatologists and an infectious disease specialist. Eczema was so bad, I couldn't sleep at night. I consulted with every imaginable doctor, including the allergist who prescribed Singulair & was told it couldn't be the Singulair because Singluair was FOR ALLERGIES. Was diagnosed with fibromyalgia by a neurologist, recently had a repeat of an MRI because I couldn't walk the pain was so bad. My neurologist was unable to find any reason I had pain & difficulty walking, after reviewing the results of the MRI.

I've seen my internist for heart palpitations. When I reported urinary frequency, he had me get a cystocopy (negative) because I had hematuria, blood in my urine, and I had weight loss.

I still have many of the side effects, like the numbness & tingling in my feet and hands, however, I am able to sleep through the night and did so immediately after going off the Singulair. A lot of the fibromyalgia pain I was having has subsided, depression, anxiety has subsided as well.

Where do I begin??? I have been taking Yaz for six months. Migraines! The worst migraines ever, I cannot function for one full day and sometimes more, the pain was so intolerable.

Hives! For the past two months, I keep thinking that I had a food allergy; even my doctor diagnosed it as that. After going to the allergist, I was told that I have developed an allergy to the Yasmin pill. No part of my body has been discriminated with this medication. Hives from the top of my head, in my eyes, right down to the bottom of my feet! This has been the worst experience of my life with this pill.

Fatigue to the extreme! I fall asleep sitting up and never feel rested. Yaz has caused me to go up two cup sizes so far, I went from being a 38C to a 40DD and I can't fit into anything. My boobs are sore a lot.

Weight gain, at least 20 pounds heavier. Nausea; Indigestion; Diarrhea & Constipation; Decreased Sex Drive; and Mood swings; Uncontrollable Rages; Severe body aches; Hot Flashes/Chills; Crying Spells; Blurred Vision; Lack of Concentration; Trouble sleeping; Dizziness; Shaking; Restlessness mainly after 9pm when I should be winding down to go to bed; Terrible night sweats; Never ending cravings for junk food; Inability to cope with stressful situations; Feeling of being inadequate; Can’t concentrate; Gassy; Hate family & partners; Irrational.

My husband has been taking Singulair for a little over a year. It has really helped his asthma. But..... in this year period he has complained of dizziness, ear popping, ringing in the ear. He went through series of tests and all the Dr. could come up with was Meniere's. I guess that's the diagnosis when they can't pinpoint it. He had blood work done this week and the Dr. advised him of elevated liver enzymes. I saw 2 other posts concerning this. Can Singulair be the culprit? It really has helped with his asthma but the side effects aren't worth it.

I was dizzy from euchtacian tube disorder. My doctor gave me 1 shot of Kenalog. I had a bluish bruse and a small indent after a week or so. It has been 9 months and it has gotten very large. It hurts when I do the stepper at the spa. I saw 2 plastic surgeons and they both said it was Fat Atrophy. It will not go away. I was told, I would need surgery. Take fat from one part of my body and inject in the indent. Then, I would have to wear tight fitting bicycle shorts under my clothes for weeks. It was not a lasting surgery. I would have to have it done when the fat went away.
