this might help anyone who is looking for more information. This site is trying to get the FDA to investigate more into this drug:
******
Under the "documents uncovered" area, it lists SEVERAL woman who have been hospitalized from this shot from Jan. 2008. Very scary stuff.

also, a post the one of my friends sent me from a news story:

10 deaths have been linked to Gardasil since September 2007, and there have been 140 reports so far this year of serious side effects such as miscarriage and Guillain-Barré syndrome.

Well. We’ve already lost 18 girls, some as young as 12, in the effort to spare them from the mere possibility of cervical cancer later in life. Others have developed debilitating and potentially life-threatening ailments within weeks of being vaccinated, and others still have had spontaneous abortions or given birth to babies with birth defects.

Also consider this: Cervical cancer usually develops in your late 20s to mid 30s. The protection period of Gardasil is estimated to be 5 years. That means, if you receive your first set of shots when you’re 10 years old, you’d need at least 2 to 4 additional booster shots to make it through your 30s. And THAT means you’ll have to expose yourself to the potential side effects of Gardasil over and over and over again.

But now to the real clincher, and I want you to read the following section as many times as you need to let this truly sink in…

U.S. statistics show there are 30 to 40 cervical cancer cases per year per one million women between the ages of 9 and 26, which is the age bracket that Gardasil targets (and was tested on).

According to Merck, Gardasil was shown to reduce pre-cancers by 12.2% to 16.5% in the general population. So, instead of ending up with 30 to 40 cases of cancer per million, per year, in that age bracket, the HPV vaccine can potentially bring it down to 26 to 35 cases of cervical cancer.

What that means is that you would have to vaccinate one million girls to prevent cervical cancer in 4 to 5 girls.

Further, about 37 percent of women who develop cervical cancer actually die from the disease, so vaccinating ONE MILLION girls would prevent 1 to 2 DEATHS per year, at the bargain-basement price of $360 million per year, plus potentially lifelong suffering for an untold number of women, which has no price tag.

Is this REASONABLE?

I went on the ring a couple of years ago.I never had a problem with feeling it inside me or falling out. My boyfriend cant detect it either. It is convenient and easy to use. Around the same time of starting the Ring, I felt like I was starting to lose myself and sense of personality. I have experiences almost all of the above symptoms: major depression, acute anxiety, sleeplessness, weight gain, acne, fatigue, loss of sex drive, and now I'm learning that NuvaRing is linked to 12 deaths. Blood clots. Scary stuff. I am getting off this thing strait away and hopefully I can rediscover myself and my health. I guess I'm lucky my boyfriend stuck with me thru this. It can only get better from here....

I started on Yasmin a year ago because I believed the TV advertising. I had no noticeable side effects for several months, then began heart palpitations, anxiety attacks in the middle of the night, crying for no reason, severe headaches, and my blood pressure, which has always been low, skyrocketed to as high as 160/130. I asked my gyn if Yasmin could be the cause and he said maybe, so I took myself off it. I had to go on blood pressure medication, but I'm hopeful that after that poison pill is out of my system I can get off the meds. The doctor's office called yesterday to say my cholesterol was so high they wanted me to go on medication for that. I last had cholesterol checked in Nov, and it was fine. I've been off yasmin for two weeks and already feel more hopeful and less anxious.

My daughter is 12 yrs old and has been on Singulair for about 2 yrs. on and off but since her last Dr.'s appointment and with her breathing results the Dr. told her that she NEEDS to take the SINGULAIR every day. She's been taking it now for about 5 months straight and in the passed 2 months I've noticed a change in her attitude. I, too attributed it to a "pre-teen" thing. It was kind of gradual though, one day I was talking to her and she just blew up at me, which is not like her at all, she started crying and saying that she knows I wished she was never born and so on....I was devastated, this was so shocking to me because she is such a good kid, will help anyone and her and I could always talk with each other. I couldn't believe she thought any of these things because we have such a great relationship together.
Then I noticed that she has put on at least 20-25 pounds since she's been on this and she isn't doing very well in school...I laos attributed this to "the age", she's in 7th grade and I've had numerous meetings with her teacher's who told me that it's just the grade, and how it's a big transition for 7th grader's...now I'm not so sure.
I'm afraid to take my daughter off of this because she has the lungs of a 70 yr. old person...and that scares me. I'm going to have to wait until Monday morning to call her Dr. before I take her off. We've been to the E.R. several times in the last 5 yrs for her asthma and each time has been during the middle of the night, which you would think seeing as though they aren't active at that time that the asthma wouldn't act up until during the day. So as a precaution, I need to keep her on this 2 more days to see what the Dr. says. I'm not a bad mother and if I could, I'd take her off the medication right now, I just hope there's something else they can give her that's safe. I don't want to lose my daughter!

I am 41 years old; I've been on several different birth control pills since I was 19 (never had any problems with any of them). I took a break for 2 years recently while trying to get pregnant. After two miscarriages, I decided to go back on the pill until the genetic tests come back.
I am into my 3rd pack of YAZ pills & all I can say is they are by far the WORST birth control pills I have ever taken. After reading all of the side effects that are posted, I am discontinuing immediately. It also eases some of my worries that I am not the only one suffering. These are the side effects that I have experienced since starting YAZ:

1. Daily migraine headaches.
2. Throbbing pain in my head if I turn too quickly.
3. Sensitivity to light.
4. Frequent cramps in my feet.
5. Clouded vision & sharp pain in my eye sockets.
6. Sinus pain.
7. Constipation.
8. Ringing in my ear.
9. Insomnia.
10.EXTREME mood swings.
11.Depression.
12.ZERO sex drive.
13.Fatigue, along with constant neck & back pain.
14.Painful cyst-like acne on my face.

With all of the birth control pills out there, there is no reason to have to take YAZ. It is the only pill on the market that contains drospirenone, which leads me to believe that drospirenone is causing the side effects I am experiencing.

Thank god for the internet-I don't know what I would have done if I had to feel the way I did from taking Yasmin any longer without knowing why. I took Yasmin for two months. In the third week of my second month I suffered from severe anxiety and panic attacks along with irrational fears and obsessing on random thoughts that wouldn't normally bother me. When I would somewhat calm down, I would then feel so depresses because I didn't know why I just couldn't go back to feeling like myself. I am a worry-er, I admit, but never to this extreme. I was so nervous, I had no appetite and the anxiety really began to take its toll on me physically. Now that I look back on it, I was more nervous than usual in my first month, I have lost my sex drive, I have had small dizzy spells and blurred vision, random pains in my left lower abdomen area, but I never put these all together. When I found not only this website, but tons others with women writing about all of these side effects, I already started feeling like myself again. It's been 4 days off the pill and I still get a little anxious, but nothing like it was last week. I can't wait for this stuff to get out of my system. I did take the pill at 7:45 every night and I do notice I'm more nervous in the morning when I get up and by late afternoon, I start to relax and feel more like myself. Synthetic hormones are not natural and I really feel like we shouldn't put this stuff in our bodies. We are messing with scary stuff. God only knows what would have happened if I had to endure any more of that physical and mental pain!

I was given seven days worth of Levaquin for a bad strep throat infection. I was frightened reading about some of the side effects, but I've had strep before and had a very hard time getting rid of it. The doctor at urgent care said Levaquin was "primo" for getting rid of infections, so I took a chance.

About the third day on the drug, I started to have minor tingling, burning, and "pins and needles" feeling in my hips and ankles. My knees were also slightly affected. I quit Levaquin after five days. I'm recovering, but my achilles tendons are still stiff and sore. I've definitely lost a step or two on this drug and wish I'd tried something else.

My doctor said joint pain was a "rare" side effect of Levaquin, but it sure doesn't sound like it reading this and other boards on the subject. This is scary stuff and should be avoided if there is any possible alternative.

I read a ton of scary stuff about Levaquin. My doctor prescribed a 7 day dosage of 500 mg for a severe tonsil infection. I went on a vacation trip and didn't want to take the Levaquin due to the scary things I read on this site. I got sicker and sicker.

Finally, I decided to take the Levaquin. It helped the infection and pain in my tonsils and ears within a couple of hours.

I wish I took the antibiotic sooner and didn't get scared from the websites.

The only side effect I had was a slight loss of appetite and a little stomach upset.

The benefits far outweighed the consequences.

Levaquin was fine for me. BTW I'm a 29 year old female.

Please be careful when using this drug!!!!! My daughter is 4 years old and was on Singulair for a 1 1/2 years to control allergies and Asthma. She was also on 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of Zyrtec. She lost the last year and 1/2 of social and emotional growth. She became angry, aggressive, hyperactive, disconnected from reality, uncommunicative. She was deliberately hitting, scratching, etc. unprovoked. She retreated into a fantasy world where there was alot of "killing" and other scary things. The other kids were scared of her. Her teacher, who has over twenty years of teaching in a University Laboratory school (she knows what she is doing) said that her behavior was the most extreme she had ever seen. I took her to the Pediatrician, to a child Psychologist, and to a Physiciatrist. They were thinking ADHD and maybe Bi-Polar or ODD or worse...we were very scared. The Pediatrician said, no the drug could not be causing this. This site helped me to realize that maybe it was the Singulair. Psychologist, physiciatrist and allergist all said, yes it could be the drugs. We got her allergy tested and she was extremely allergic and started allergy shots. We took her off the Singulair and Zrytec and starting seeing changes in her behavior within a week. It has now been 5 weeks and our little girl is back...she is smiling again, happy!! and communicating! We can have a conversation with her now! It is amazing. Everyone has noticed the difference..her teachers, Dr.'s, etc. She has had a few outbursts and some hyperactivity since but they are diminishing as time goes by. I just wonder how long it will take for all the effects to be gone and how much work we have to do to teach her all the things she missed developmentally over the last year and 1/2 while her mind my blocked by this drug. They should take it off the market. It is frightening. Please beware!!!!!!!!

I took levaquin for 30 days for a bone infection in my toe as a result of an injury. I began to notice that I had joint pain in the morning when I first got out of bed. I thought it was strange, since I'd never experience that before. I then noticed that the pain continued all day long. I then started having trouble sleeping, had weird dreams when I did sleep, and starting feeling anxious. I read the side effects and found out that these are all side effects of levaquin. I was taken off the drug and after about two weeks the pain began to subside. I'm now experiencing some weird sensations in my arms and legs and wonder if this is somehow related to the Levaquin. Scary stuff.

sabresgirl123, I had the same problem where my BP escalated to 140/110 after being on and off Yasmin for 12 months total (on for 8, off for 1, on for 4). It was so frightning to have my BP go so far up the scale and I had a panic/anxiety attack, which hit me in 12/05. The Yasmin caused me severe side effects. I am not going to ever take another BCP/hormone/Mirena etc.... I can't risk it. I had leg cramps and all kinds of scary stuff.
I am now on 37.5mg of Effexor XR to counteract the anxiety and hopefully rebalance my brain chemistry.
I have been posting here for several months and found it very helpful. I hope that you will keep us posted. Stay well.

My 16 yr old started taking Sulfameth for acne, by the 2nd day she was extremly nervous, sick to her stomach, had a slight fever, headache, and was very shaky. By the 4th day she had gained almost 8lbs and started hallucinating!! on top of all the other problems. When we put two and two together and realized it might be the medication and not the flu we took her off it immediately. She is now back to normal after being off it about 5 days.

This is scary stuff!!!

Have been taking for only 1 day (3 doses) and right before lunch, I started feeling like I had extremely low blood sugar. By the time I got downstairs and stood in line to get food, I felt shakier and shakier. As I rushed to sit down and eat something as fast as possible, my hands were shaking as if I had a nervous tick or Parkinson's.

After eating the shaking gradually subsided, however, I have been feeling weird pressure in my eyes as if my pupils are extremely dialated. And I am also feeling a little detatched from my surroundings and a little nervous.

I don't liike the way this medicine makes me feel at all! I am calling my doctor right away to switch meds.

This is scary stuff!!!! How long has this drug been out?! Thanks, FDA!

Ladies - I am 41 yr old female. Took kenalog 1-2x yrly between 16 and 22 yrs old for extreme hayfever. Yes, it was a miracle, but I did experience non-stop bleeding. (about 9 months worth - spotting) Noticed that this happened if I got the shot while on my period. When I received a shot when NOT on my period, I skipped several at times. Now, I have a herniated disk (L5-S1) - and what a total miracle this was. I was in excruciating pain for 2 months, got a shot and within days the pain was gone - except for little "reminders". This shot was an epidural (directly in my spine) SCARY stuff, however, I'm not a big fan of surgery. Anyway, the first shot, I was just finishing my period and it went on for 2 weeks longer. This shot, I am mid-cycle, so we'll see what happens. As far as other side effects, after a shot, about 2-3 days later, I am very tense & irritable, quick tempered, but that fades. My appetite wanes and I get supercharged - get a lot done, but I think I re-injured my back because I was feeling so good! Does anyone have a problem with ears ringing constantly????? I'm wondering if this is a side effect as well.

I told her of all my side effects, she now has be on another birth control. I just rather not, It is not worth. I have no energy anymore. When I first started taking the pill, I felt like I had the flu, nausea. I had to start taking the pill in the evening cause my stomach could not handle it. I am on my fourth month of taking the pill, my husband & I feel its just best to go off, and let your body be natural. This is some scary stuff, I wish I would of done some research first before messing up my body.

I have been on 150mg of Wellbutrin XL for about 4 weeks. I cannot tolerate caffeine at all while taking it. It results in an inability to breath. I feel as if each time I exhale, it is my last breath. Went to the hospital experiencing shortness of breath and chest pain. They could find nothing wrong. On that day, I had 4 cups of coffee. Today I had only 1 and have spent the night struggling to breath. Am starting to wean my way off Wellbutrin. Not being able to breath is scary stuff.

STRONG HEART PALPS, RACING HEARTBEAT
I've been getting some really strong heart palpitations. Also I sometimes wake up at night with a racing heartbeat. Scary stuff. I'm on Singulair and Flonase. Can't say for sure it's caused by Singulair, but after reading these posts and doing other Net research I'm going to stop the Singulair and see if these very scary heart palps go away!!
