Seeing spots symptoms and conditions

I HAD KNEE SURGERY ON 11/02/2009. MY DOCTOR PRESCRIBED PERCOCET FOR THE PAIN. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT OR WHAT EFFECT THE NARC WOULD HAVE ON ME. ALL I KNEW .....IS THAT I WANTED SOMETHING THAT WOULD KEEP ME FROM FEELING THE PAIN. AT 1ST I WAS TAKING IT EVERY 8HRS & I WOULD WAKE UP IN GREAT PAIN. THEN MY SON READ THE BOTTLE & SAW THAT I WASN'T TAKING IT AS PRESCRIBED. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKING IT EVERY 3HRS. SO I STARTED TO TAKE IT EVERY 3HRS & INSTANTLY I FELT A DIFFERENCE. (MY NOSE STARTED TO RUN) I WOULD BE (TALKING 1 MINUTE THEN DEAD SLEEP THE NEXT) MY SKIN WAS (ITCHY) ALL THE TIME (LIKE I WAS AN ADDICT) I STARTED GETTING (ABDOMINAL PAIN) (SEEING SPOTS) VERY PERKY THOUGH. THEN THE (CONSTIPATION) CAME. THIS WAS ALL IN A MATTER OF 4 DAYS. BY THAT EVENING OF THE 4TH DAY THE CONSTIPATION & ABDOMINAL PAIN WORSENED & I DECIDED I WASN'T GOING TO TAKE THE NARC ANYMORE. I DIDN'T TAKE IT YESTERDAY & HAD A (HARD TIME GETTING TO SLEEP) THANK GOD IT WASN'T DUE TO THE PAIN. I DIDN'T TAKE ANY TODAY BUT THOUGHT ABOUT IT SO I CAN GET TO SLEEP BEFORE 5AM. PLEASE KEEP ME IN YOUR PRAYERS FOR I WILL KEEP ALL OF YOU (THE COMMENTS IVE READ) IN MINE. GOD BLESS

I was prescribed this as an inexpensive option to treat a long-term sinus infection in March 2008. I had no prior history of allergic reactions or prior health problems. After 3 days (6 doses) my whole body was in throbbing pain, I felt like my skin was on fire, and I was seeing spots, and had difficulty breathing. I initially had NO RASH or visible/external signs while taking the medication. I immediately stopped taking the medication and saw my doctor, but symptoms persisted for a week. My doctor prescribed prednisone, and had to up the dosage two weeks later when a rash formed over my torso and legs and persisted for 2 months.

im a 26 year old male that is not overweight, but high blood pressure runs in my family. I was put on Lisinopril 12,5 about 3 weeks ago. I have been seeing spots randomly. They usually follow the same pattern. Has anyone experienced this? Its kind of freakin me out.

I've tried a bunch of different brands and types of BC's in the past, and none ever worked well with me... then i started Yasmin. It worked wonders. helped my acne, cramps, length of my period etc... i was on it for about 1 year. i stopped BC and had my son (Nov 18 09) .. my doc told me to get back on the pill about 2 months after my son was born and i have been on it since.. lately I've been noticing that I'm not me anymore... i can't remember the last time I've felt like myself.. depression, lack of motivation, hopelessness, i get irritated over the stupidest things, LOW sex drive, LIKE NONE AT ALL, lack of confidence, loss of appetite, loss of hair ongoing 9 months after birth and getting worse, bad menstrual cramps, bad acne, dark colored urine,strange vaginal discharge before my period, longer periods, migraines, mood swings, irrational thoughts and outburst, dizzy spells, blurred (black) vision upon standing, seeing spots and light headed, etc... i attributed all of this to postpartum hormonal imbalance, stress, etc... but I'm now considering the fact that maybe Yasmin is doing this to my body... so i will stop the pill or switch it, my next appointment is only in a month so no sex till then, but yet again my libido is completely gone so that will be no problem... (ahh my POOR BF) lol

all this to say that if it was postpartum depression, my son wouldn't be the only reason i get up in the morning, i wouldn't get up at all...

i know that this isn't postpartum depression... I'm positive that it's Yasmin causing all this i know at least that some of it is..

What i don't understand is that we all have a bunch of docs that ignore us and our bodies.. this isn't only happening to on person this is a lot of people who have had similar and sever reactions to this pill, it should really be taken off the market, or at least doctors should warn us about the "other" side effects...

anyways I'm DONE with this pill and will tell all my friends.

it at least feels good to get this off my chest... it's hard to talk about this stuff to people who are close to you...

All this sounds crazy but makes sense at the same time...

I recently delivered a healthy baby girl (Feb 9th) in which 1 week later I developed a blood clot on my brain and was hospitalized for 1 week after experiencing 4 seizures. They told me it was pregnancy related and I would be on warfarin for 6-9 months until the clot dissolved. I too am experiencing: fatigue, extreme dizziness, light headedness, I am seeing spots all of the time, I am getting leg cramps and foot cramps a lot, I feel really weak, and just plain old. I will be 37 years old this July, and I feel way too young to be feeling this way all of the time. I can not handle going to the lab 2-3 times every week for blood work, my veins are collapsing and bruising really bad. I cry every time I leave, my husband must think I'm such a loser. It has been almost 3 months now and I just got my first period since my daughter was born. I thought I was going to bleed to death. My husband had to watch me around the clock to make sure I didn't have to be rushed into emergency. This sucks....I'm trying to remain strong, and doing lots of praying these days....Thanks for letting me share my story.....

I already listed all my side effects on the 4th of Feb. I immediately called the doctor and set up an appointment to have it removed. I'm not waiting till my hair falls out before I get it out of me. The doctor said they couldn't remove it for another month so I decided I'd just wait patiently until I read someone's comment saying that you can EASILY remove it yourself! I went in the bathroom, washed my hands, squatted and reached up, found the strings and tugged gently. I'M FREE!!! YAY!!
My side effects were:
Nausea
Vision Loss (seeing spots, and blurriness, pressure behind eyes)
Back Pain
Knee and other joint pain
Headaches
Extreme Irritability (mood swings)
Lack of energy
Weight Gain
Bloating (very rounded belly)
Discharge with an odor
Dizziness
Abdominal pain
Chest pain
Pain in breasts
Loss of sex drive
Dehydration (so thirsty, but very dry lips and skin no matter how much I drink)
Water retention
Anxiety attacks
Ear infections
Sugar cravings
Sweating
I'll update you on whether things change (and how fast)! Fingers crossed, I'm so hopeful!
I have to say that within minutes of removing it I'm dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous and my head is suddenly killing me!

Thank You!!! I'm not the only one! I had the Mirena inserted in 2005,removed in Sept 2008. Painful cramping immediately that continued at odd times throughout time I had it. Bleeding for the first 4 months. Back Pain followed and landed me in the ER. At the ER I was told that I had blood in my urine. Antibiotics had no effect. Back pain continues today but is markedly less. Major mood swings leading to depression. Took Zolft at increasing doses with no effect. Never been prone to any of these before. Rages would come on over the littlest things. Extreme anxiety attacks leading into panic that left me completely irrational. Almost lost my husband and kids due to mood swings. Joint pain came then in my lower back and shoulders and wrists. Saw doctor, no reason ever found. Lumps showed up in my breasts that would swell and receed with my monthly cycle. Extreme sensitivity during sex with bleeding and cramping after. Cysts on my face and large acne bumps on my back that were so painful to the touch i could not even wear a bra. These spots took weeks to go away. Headaches that left me sick and weak on the couch seeing spots. Dr's insisted these symptoms were not related to my birth control.I had tons of fatigue but chalked that up to the depression. I also started having a lot of trouble with dryness in all of my mucus membranes. Even my eyes hurt. Over and over saw many dr's never could find what was wrong. This birth control nearly ruined my life and cost me three important years with my kids that i should have been at the top of my game. I have girlfriends who have received the mirena with almost exactly the same progression as me. I feel deceived by the listings in the information pamplets I received. I expected bleeding and slighter periods but never did they list these symptoms. I even looked at their website before I received it and they are not listed there either. I even had an argument with my gyno about having it removed because he knew of none of these side effects. I have seen a significant change since the removal. Mood swings down, energy back up. Kids say I'm like a whole new mom. I have waited long enough to tell my story. I am a 29 yr old single mother of 3. I started YAZ in Feb of 2008. I took it for 11 days. ELEVEN DAYS. It was about 4 days in that the headaches started. I couldn't stand light, I wore hoodies and sunglasses. I was nauseated. Saw double, black spots. Motion sickness.I could barely make it to work. I was out of control. I did not have control over my mind. I was crazy. My friend almost took me to the hospital to have me committed. There is no history of this in me or my family. The headaches would last from the time I woke up til the time I would go to sleep. Painkillers was the only thing that would keep me asleep through the pain. My dr immediately stop the the pills. I saw an eye doctor and they found nothing. They ordered an MRI. They found T2 Foci scattered throughout my brain. VERY unusual in someone my age. What that is, is my protective covering of my brain cells had been damaged there were gaps in its covering. I soon developed a stutter and a slur in my speech. The pain then moved throughout my whole body. They said fibromyalga and daily migraines. I'm now on topamax daily which gives me breaks in my headaches. I still get them daily. I still have pain in my body daily and I'm on painkillers daily. I have found a new dr who is wonderful. Who has recently taken blood. Who thinks that maybe it could be lupus. So I started researching Lupus...my symptoms and rashes match up. There is also a DRUG INDUCED LUPUS. and ORAL CONTRACEPTIVES is a KNOWN drug that can cause this!!! BUT IS THAT ON THE LABEL???? NOOOOOOOO!!! I was perfectly healthy before yaz, in kick boxing and now I walk and have the memory of a 60 yr old and my brain is permanently damaged. I have another MRI coming up to find out if there is more damage and I will find out the results of the blood work to find out what is wrong with me...but I blame all of this on YAZ and I hold them responsible. I SAY CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT....just have to find a firm with big enough BALLS to do it!!!

I have been on Warfarin since the end of Aug. 2007 when I had my mitral valve replaced with a mechanical valve. I will be on it for the rest of my life. My doctor.'s all assured me there were no side effects other than the bleeding risks. I now know this is not true. The side effects I am dealing with make me sometimes wish I had chosen a tissue (pig) valve, even though I would be guaranteed another heart surgery within ten years. I am 39 years old and a mother of two young kids. Since being on Warfarin I have experienced various body aches that come on suddenly but don't stay long; extreme hot and cold; itchy hands and feet; dry hair and hair loss; seeing "spots" usually followed by a headache; very thirsty; ongoing bowel troubles, possibly developed colitis; but the worst side effect for me is the fatigue and depression. I feel like I traded in my old self for my mechanical valve. Like I said, I'd have to have a tissue valve replaced eventually, and as bad as heart surgery is, I'd rather have 10 happy years w/out Warfarin than this struggle I deal with almost everyday. My brother is a surgeon and even he buys into the "no side effects" b.s. I work out as much as I can, which used to make me feel great, now I feel like it helps me get by but not the positive effect it used to have on me mentally.

I have been taking Yasmin for 2 months and suffer the following symptoms for the last 7 weeks, lack of balance and co ordination, problems walking which consist of shaking wobbly legs its like they are made from jelly , shortness of breath, palpitations, panic attacks, clumsiness, stomach cramp, constipation, diarrhea, clots whilst not menstruating, headache, blurred vision, dizziness, seeing spots, light headed, aching muscles, fluid retention, swollen hands and feet, abdominal pain, lack of period, mood swings, nausea, lack of appetite, sore breasts, bloatedness, tiredness, insomnia, pais in my chest, has any one else got these symptoms?

I was prescribed 5 days of 500 mg of Levaquin for a possible UTI. I had some vision disturbances - seeing spots and shapes that weren't really there on the 2nd day. On day 3 I had a night of complete sleeplessness. On day 4, I noticed a slight soreness in both calves. I thought it was just from gardening. On day 5 (after I had taken the final dose) the calve stiffness/pain got much worse - it was like the muscles had become extremely tight and was centered around the tendons. I realized it was from the Levaquin when the insert and way down at the bottom it said to call your doctor if you had leg or tendon pain. Since then, I have looked at several sites and it's very scary. I can only hope that the leg pain goes away in a few days - I can hardly walk and it hurts with every step. I have always been a very active person. If this is permanent, it will change my life completely, as I walk everywhere and right now can barely get down the street or up and down stairs. My doctor said that only prolonged use would cause tendon tears, but that is not what I am reading. It damages cartilage, muscles, tendons. That's one of the reasons they don't prescribe it for under 18-year olds.

It should not be prescribed for anyone. There are thousands of entries on the web about the sometimes permanent and very serious side effects of this toxic antibiotic. I feel very sorry for all of us.

Girls,

just wanted to ask did any of you expereince the feeling like you were under water with your head???I have had severe blurred vision and seeing spots, is that another yasmin Legacy.....
