I lterally just starting taking Yasmin today. I used to take Tri-phasil, but found it just wasn't keeping my mood in check over the last 6 months, not to mention I was suddenly getting 2 periods a month. So, I stopped taking the pill for a month, and after seeiong ads for YAZ ended up with Yasmine after visiting my Dr.
My questions for the ladies with symptoms of anxiety and mood swings: Did you not have these symptoms before starting the pill? If so, are you saying that Yasmin made them worse?
Also, I would be curious to find lout what BC pills you NOW use, and how the hormone dose compares to Yasmin. The Tri-phasil I used to take was stronger than Yasmin. If I begin to feel any side effects using Yasmin, I will have to assume that I just need something stronger and will begin with Tri Phasil again.

I've just started my third month on Lisinopril. The cough I assumed was either caused by either my recent exposure to airbag powder in an accident or allergies that had to go untreated since most medications don't work with HBP. Sometimes I just can't stop. I'll be fine and then the tickle starts and then the hacking. At night, I try to sleep with my head elevated so I don't gag. I insisted on a followup visit with the prescribing doctor because of the strange tingling I was experiencing in my hands. Wake up fine, take Lisinopril and by lunch time my hands felt like they were "fuzzy". Skin tingling like from cold, but hands actually warm. Doctor didn't believe this to be side effect of medication, but it looks like from the comments I've read it could be. I've also experienced the tiredness or lack of energy, but then sometimes at night it's hard to sleep. I really would like to stop the Lisinopril (10 mg dose). I didn't like what I read about Diovan either. Anyone going holistic?

My daughter has been on singulair for about a year now and she just turned 3. I discovered in about January that all through the night she would make weird noises with her mouth because her mouth is so dry. Then came the disturbed sleep. For the last two months she would wake up in the morning crying because her legs would hurt so bad. She wanted me to carry her everywhere. She could never keep up the other kids because she was physically exhausted. Then came the tantrums and crying. She just started biting, hiting and being mean to anyone around her. She also started not being able to remember her numbers and colors. I took her off of it a week and a half ago. The last three days her mood has improved and her memory seems better. The only thing that has not improved is her dry mouth. Hopefully that will improve with time.

Since starting the Zyrtec, my 3 yr old has been crying A LOT, for no seemingly no reason. Sometimes even in the middle of the night which he has never done. He is never really sure what is wrong and sometimes when I ask him to stop crying he says "I can't". Now I'm reading that this is not uncommon!

I am so relieved to read some of these postings! My fiance has been having these spontaneous seemingly "phantom" pains since October. The first was knee pain on the outside part of both knees. He had an MRI and everything--nothing showed up. Then there was groin pain, wrist pain, and foot pain. His doctor said it was not neuropathy from diabetes. Everyone at work thinks he's faking it. The worst is currently left shoulder pain so intense he woke up crying last night, and he has a very high tolerance for pain. His prescription listed a possible side effect of "muscle aches" which prompted me to explore the lipitor issue in the first place. I noticed that the pain is very isolated and his skin is extremely sensitive to touch--has anyone else experienced this? He's seeing his doctor Wednesday for a physical, so I am anxious to see what he has to say about this theory. Thank you everyone for your postings--I feel as if I am not alone now in my suspicions....

Now listen I get so depressed , yes it helped my acne heal up and as I also have been diagnosed with COPD (Chronic Obstrustive Pulmonary Disease) where my asthma that I had as a child came back , I have gone off the Prednisone as of Monday this week (8 Aug 2005) I was on it for 2 weeks and was on 8 tablets each morning to clear up the acute Bronchitis I had that brought on the COPD.
Its now Thursday and I feel dizzy, nauseous and have a mean mean headache, but I realise this.... that putting foreign things like Prednisone into my body is going to ensure that once I am off it, my body tries to naturally get rid of it, so these side effects are just my body's way of getting rid of the extra cortisone. I am not overly worried. I don't want to gain weight because I have spent a long time losing over 25 kg's and I don't want it back. So I walk every day, I quit smoking and life is getting better and better.
I look to Lance Armstrong and his fight with cancer, it was a a physical disease and he survived he fought it with his MIND!!
Any disease that you have can make you feel depressed, unresponsive and as if you have no way out of the seemingly endless array of side effects from drugs etc.
You choose how you feel , its your mind that is the most powerful healer of all. So I may have COPD but its not going to stop me from living and make me wake up every single day with a strength that I never knew I had before.
I won't quit, if I feel depressed I will do something that will make me feel better and I will choose to be happy and make changes that will make me happy.
Disease is not the thing that makes you feel like a victim, You choose to be a victim by the thoughts you think.
Life is what you make it.
Keep strong, LIVE STRONG

I am just writing to post my side effect after taking Kenalog for allergies. This was my first (and last) Kenalog shot. It did help my allergies a little, but it has really messed up my menstrual cycle. The doctor did say that it may cause mentrual irregularity, but I haven't stopped bleeding for 4 weeks straight - with no end in sight. I didn't realize this is what he meant by "irregularity"!
My question is this - how long can I expect these side effects to last? How long will my period continue??? And has anyone else felt dizzy from taking the shot?
Anyone else that has had a seemingly never-ending menstrual cycle after taking the shot please tell me how you made it stop, how long it lasted, etc. Your advice would be most appreciated.
Thanks!

I have been using Nuvaring for about 4 months and am experiencing dizziness at times, accompanied by mood swings, breast tenderness, and headaches (starting low in my neck and seemingly progressing into migraines). I have also experienced a decrease in my desire for intimacy. I am 25 years old and have tried many types of b.c. pills already. I'm very frustrated at how my body reacts to each type of contraceptive I try.

It's been one year since I went off of Yasmin and my cycle is STILL not back to normal. I stopped taking it on June 22, 2004 (a day where I just said I had enough of the crying spells, the numb legs, and the headaches). I did not get a period until August, then I got one in October, two in November, skipped December and January, and had a seemingly normal one in February. Nothing happened until May, where I bled for two days. It's been about 6 weeks. Nothing yet. No sign of ovulation either. I HATE this pill.

After taking Dox for 2 weeks I noticed the seemingly common tingling in the hands but only for 2 days until I was done with the meds. The worst thing though is I have a ringing in my ears even though I stopped taking Dox a couple weeks ago. Anybody else?

my 6 year old son has been taking singulair since may, 2003 for a combination of fall-induced asthma, and migraines. the migraines seem to be less intense, but he has been getting a lot more headaches, in general. about 10 weeks after taking singulair, he began making some extremely morbid statements (i.e., "i wish i wasn't alive..." "would you be upset if i died?" "i wish i was never born..." "i wish i wasn't around..."), and these have only gotten worse as time goes on. he started kindergarten in september, and although he went to a pre-kindergarten class daily last year, he began having panic episodes. as all this intensified, we found a psychiatrist for him to talk to, but he doesn't want to talk to him or anyone else. we're still going, but it's very upsetting for him (and us). he's gone from being a fairly "happy-go-lucky" kid, to this miserable, negative child...seemingly in the time that he's been on singulair. i know these symptoms aren't "known" side effects, but as each person's body reacts differently to a drug, i wonder if it isn't the culprit. it all came on so suddenly, and we haven't been able to find out anything that could have triggered this. the school has been involved, his daycare is involved...and he says he doesn't know why he feels this way (basically, depressed).
so we took him off the singulair just 3 days ago. yesterday, we saw the child we remembered, although today he's been a bit of both. since the drug has to build up in your system to be fully effective, will it take some time for its effects to wear off as well? any information would be so greatly appreciated. there's nothing more heartbreaking than a 6 year old who repeatedly says, "i hate my life, " or "this is the worst christmas ever!"
Thanks! Judy

I had been involved in a research study about Zocor. I had previously been on 20 mg without any seemingly side effects. Had a brief 'wash out' period and was rx'd 40 mg. On 40 mg I have had the eye twitching, face numbness, weakness, especially in my hands and fingers, fingers became sore, and general muscle stiffness. However, the most troublesome side effect was depression to the point of teariness. I have been off the 40 mg of Zocor for a week and a half and the depression seems to be lifting and I am sleeping much better. Hope these comments help others.

It can happen any time not only when I am eating or drinking, even if I am resting quietly. I also experance a sudden increase in my heartbeat, at such a time my heart will suddenly and seemingly without cause start to pound this can continue for some time and leave me exhusted and often with a headache, these two last symtom accure together. Is there any one else with these symtoms (side effects)?

I thought I had some new foreign disease, but now I think it's the Singulair! Thanks to those of you who have posted, I think I have finally figured it out! Since about May, I have had extremely itchy skin (like I am covered with bug bites, even though there is nothing on my skin to itch from), headaches, hair loss, weight gain, bloating, lower back pain, vivid dreams, night sweats, extreme sleepiness (taking naps during the day--I only do that when I am VERY sick), and general anxiousness. I was tested for hypothyroidism (that wasn't it), and went to my OBGYN to see if I had started menopause (I'm 43--she said that's not it, either). I hope if I stop taking Singulair, all this will go away. I hope this really is the cause of the strange and seemingly unrelated symptoms. I was starting to think I had something scary when it might just be from medication!
