I took Levaquin in March of 2004, for a spider bite. I had a 5 day dose pack. After the 2nd pill, I started having nightmares (I usually never remember my dreams), but attributed them to the spider bite. By the time I finished the meds, I had swollen hands, almost fell over when I got out of bed one morning, as I have no sense of balance, was having nighttime chills, along with many other things. Three and 1/2 years later, I have had to make my rings bigger, and my muscle pain still exists. I believe it is getting worse. I have been tested for Lupus, RA, and other autoimmune diseases, all neg. I still have an abnormally low platelet count which stated shortly after the levaquin too. I am thinking of contacting a lawyer, as this drug needs to be taken off of the market.

Stomach cramps, night sweats which stopped when I forgot to take them on a long weekend away.

A lot of gas, strange yellow stools, very dry skin and the allergies that I have are even worse (sort of like my immune system is in over-drive).
When I first started taking Lamictal, I experienced A LOT of hypomania/mania and irritablity. I occasionally do have problems staying asleep if I do not take Benadryl along with it at night. For some reason I have started chewing the insides of my mouth - no, no sores there and this was a mild habit before the Lamictal that has gotten worse.
All of this being said? This drug is fantastic. I am experiencing a sense of balance and clarity that I haven't had in 25 or 30 years. It's like I don't have any mental health problems at all - I feel normal and it's wonderful. It does, however, take a long long time to ramp up to an effective dosage - hold out, it's worth it!

Hello all,
I myself live in Canada, but a brother of mine, who still lives in Germany, seems to be suffering from the typical statin-drug adverse effects. He is off the drugs now, but the symptoms persist. What can he do to rehab himself.
Here the symptoms: impaired muscular coordination impaired sense of balance... can walk only with a stick. Impairment of finer motor skills - he has difficulty writing and he experiences difficulties swallowing. Slurred speech. Listening to him you'd think he is more than a little drunk. He feels dizzy, disoriented; pain at the back of the neck; pain in abdominal muscles
and in legs. He has trouble raising his arms to reach for something up a little higher than his head and experiences intense pain if he tries to hold an arm up in a horzontal position for more than say a minute.
He was on two German statins, one called "Zokor" and the other "Baycol" for some five years. He went to see half a dozen doctors and came away with half a dozen different diagnoses till finally one took the time to find out what drugs he was on and suggested he go without the statins for a while.
Has been off the drugs for more than a year but the side effects, though somewhat improved, persist. What can he do to rehab himself faster?
Thanks for any suggestions.

I am freaking out with this website. I have had Mirena going on 2 years and i love it! As soon as it was inserted, my periods became lighter and then altogether stopped. I haven't had a period in over a year, and i love that! I have not had any weight gain.. i have 2 kids and look the same as i did before i had them. I feel exactly the same as i did before it was inserted. I am not depressed, hormonal, nothing. When the 5 years is up, you better believe i am getting another one! I wish more people would put positive comments on the Mirena.
