My dermatologist recommended and gave me a sample of Neutrogena Healthy Defense SPF 45 after I had a treatment for a pre cancerous spot on my nose. I first purchased the SPF 30 as the SPF 45 was not available. I used the SPF 45 sample and the SPF 30 for two weeks with no problems. I then found the Neutrogena Healthy Denfense SPF 45 with helioplex and purchased it. Within two days of use I broke out in a horrible itchy, burning, red rash with watery looking bumps and dry skin all over my face and neck where the helioplex had been applied. I do not have sensitive skin and have never experienced this reaction to any other product. I reported this reaction to my dermatologist who recommended I discontinue use of the SPF 45 (duh!). I am on day three of the rash and it has not diminished although some of the bumps have scabbed over. I saw no warning on the packaging of side effects. I agree that the helioplex needs to be researched for these side effects and the consumer needs to informed.

After taking Topamax for six months, I found my self different person.... I started feeling this way just in the first few weeks after I started the medication, but the simptoms incleased with the time....Anxiety, nervousness, panick attacks, negative thinking and depression....crying, making up problems from nothing, hair loss also....I decided to stop it, slowly and without any concequences I thought I am out of it....But just a couple weeks I stop it is I noticed some red spots on my skin on the lower legs, soon they became more and stronger..... Two months later I was in abnormal stress that I am going to be sick from a terrible desease... Read so much on Internet.... I can explain how terrible I felt and even though I did blood tests (everything was in normal range!!) and spoke with so many doctors, nobody could tell me what exactly is wron with me. One Dermatologist named the skin problem as Progressive Pigmentary purpura and gave me a cream for that. Thanks a lot for that because the spots started desapearing, but it may come again.... nobody knows for sure.... I think this is another side effect of Topamax, that nobody had before..... Please tell me if somebody else had the same situation... I will feel much more relieved....

Received script for 300mg 2x per day for 10 days to treat ear infection and sever chest congestion. At the time the only side effect was sensitive skin & lots of itching, combined with a very mild diarrhea. Here is the crazy thing: now that it has been 30-40 days since I was on the antibiotic, my toe nails have grown out and you can see that it has killed the old nail in front of the new growth. My brother is a physician & he said it is weird, but not out of the question.

I was on Loestrin 24 for about a year, but had to stop and try another because it seemed to not be working for me anymore. I gained 1/2 a cup size (which I don't need), experienced bad mood swings and increased swing emotions, and I developed a rash underneath my breasts, behind my knees, and in the crease of my elbows. I had thought that the rash was my own sensitive skin reacting, but it was not the case. This pill was not good for me, and I hope any woman who is considering it reads these postings and declines it. I now take Yaz, and so far so good! Sex drive has returned and no more bleeding.

My husband and I have used the Neutrogena Summer Glow daily moisturizer w/Helioplex. Within the first two days we both broke out in a rash on our faces and necks along with bumpy skin. It feels dry and almost burnt in spots. I would not recommend this product. Neither of us have sensitive skin. Has anyone else experienced these symptoms and how did you cure?

As a teenager I had minor Acne and blackheads. Some red bumps in the back of my arms and my thighs, blackheads around my forehead and nose and one or two acne bumps around my chin that would go away and come back. Compared to many kids my age, I had great skin. The problem started the day my mother said I should start using beauty products. My aunt recommended Clinque (3 step regime). I was typed with t-zone skin and bought that package. I followed the advice of the counter assistant and after a day, red painful spots appeared in my skin. I went back and they said it was normal and to keep using it. I did and the red spot errupted to full sized cystic acne. I could feel the huge swells deep within my skin. I stopped using it right away, but it was too late. The damage was done. My skin was inflamed and sensitive and the condition of my skin just fed on itself. I went to the dermatologist and they told me to wash with Cetaphil and to be gentle with my skin. That relieved it a bit and over time (a long time) my skin calmed down. But it was too late. I had horrible acne scars and breakouts were more common than they were before I started.

Over the years I tried to find the cause of my break outs. Tried different products (with caution) and realized that a common ingredient (Salicylic Acid) caused my break outs. Well, almost all acne products contain this ingredient so I had to find other ways around Acne. I still have red blotches on my left arm where I tested a bit of a product on it. The inflamation is gone now but i'm left with scars. I still see acne products out there with Salicylic Acid in them. A couple of times when I change Doctor's, they would recommend me over the counter products that have Salicylic Acid in them. As you can tell, I no longer trust doctors advice.

I haven't found one article out there mentioning anyone having my symptoms when using Salicylic Acid.

I have been recieving no problems with boroleum because it seems like it is a natural product. I was experiencing rashes on my face and I am a type of person that has very sensitive skin. I tried every medications but it just kept making my face in worst so I became self-cautious about my face. Until, my mother told me to use petroleum and from then my skin is lookin extremely wonderful, no rashes, scars, redness, burns from my previous prescriptions.

My daughter (now 4 1/2) has been on Singulair for two years. It has completely controlled her asthma but I was unaware of the serious side effects.

She had trouble sleeping after taking it. Looking back now she had what I would call "night terrors" where she woke up crying with vivd details about a dream. At the time I did not connect the two.

Due to the sleeplessness we now give it to her in the morning.

She also complians of itchiness, which we thought was sensitive skin. Now that I am connecting the dots seems like this only would occur right after taking the meds.

Lately, she has had severe behavioral problems. I am now wondering about hallucinations with some of her complaints about the "noise" etc.. and not being able to control what she does.

I was this close to seeing a behavioral psychologist but looked into the Singulair instead. The company's website even lists these side effects. When I called the doctor he WAS NOT EVEN AWARE of them.

We are off it now and the improvements are immediate. Today was her first smiley face day at preschool in a couple of weeks. It saddens me that she (and the rest of the family) may have had to suffer needlessly.

Be very careful and watch for these symptoms.

I am a an active, healthy 42 yr old female who was taking 60mg every day for 5 days. Medicine was prescribed to me by my doctor to help with the pain from an injury that aggravated back surgery that I had in January. I am done with the medication but am feeling flu symptons (i.e. sensitive skin, achey joints, spinning sensation, general fatigue). Is this normal? My appetite has tripled! Whats up? This medicine is awful! Just say no!

The skin around my waist has become very dry and flaky. I don't see this happening to anyone else... is this a normal side effect??? I took doxy twice a day for five days about eight to ten days before this developed.

I have noticed a few side effects after 18 months of taking he pill:

NEGATIVE: constant depression, tiredness, irregular bleedings, vaginal dryness, no sexual desire at all, constant headache, hair loss, sensitive skin (feeling very uncomfortable/ tickly when someone touch my skin)

I must however point out the POSITIVE side effects that made me conitnue using the pill (hoping the others would go away!): clear skin, no acne, bad facial and hairline psoriasis totally gone, loss of appetite (weight loss)

Reading this page has made me realise that the negative side effects aren't going to go away, and so I am quitting this pill - and all others for that matter. I am 36, have never taken any other BCP's in my life and so I know my body reactions very well. It is not worth jeopardizing a happy family life with husband and 2 kids - all because of the above negative side effects. There are other natural remedies that regulate hormonal imbalances that can sort my skin out - and my husband has agreed to have a vasectomy...
