I have been on Levaquin over 6 times in the past 2 years for upper respiratory infections. I just came off another levapak 750mg for 10 days and my biceps were feeling really tight. I mentioned this to my doctor but he said it was a common side effect. After researching this today I am shocked about the tendon damage. I have had distal bicep tendon surgery on each arm on separate occasions in the past two years. Now I am terrified this is going to happen again. None of the surgeons could figure out why someone my age (41) could do this twice in under 2 years. Has anyone found a way to reverse this? I am terrified to go back to the gym or even lift anything. My biceps are so sore and I have been off the Levapak for 3 days and my biceps seem to be getting more tight and sore each day. I can't face having another surgery. This drug should be taken off the market.

Hi all,
I've been taking it for a month now and for the last 2 weeks I,ve been having nightmares every single night, severe musle pain in my legs, my arms feel weak and shaky, my mouth and nose are extremely dry. I have itchy skin - the itchiness attacks are so bad - I can't control them, and also I have very strange headaches -at the back of my head and neck - not just a muscle tension, migrating all over the scalp.
I don't have an asthma, but I had a very bad sinus and ear infection, and was feeling dizzy, so my doctor advised me to give it a try. Singulair has eliminated those symptoms in 2 days, but the side effects are even worser.

My significant other took Doxycylene, 100 mg, twice a day for two weeks to treat a swollen lymph node under his arm. During the treatment he experienced nausea, stomach pain, rash and cold sweats, nothing too bad. 3 days after the last dose everything got significantly worse. It started with sever chest pain, so bad we went to the emergency room thinking it was a heart attack or blood clot. They found nothing and discharged him. Over the next 3 weeks he started vomitting, diahrea and developed jaundice. Constant queeziness and chest pain. After numerous tests, ultra sounds, MRCP, the doctor has ruled out various hepatitas's and every other disease he could think of. He's also rulled out any kind of bile duct blockage after the MRCP. Its now been 7 weeks since all this started, my friend has dropped 40 lb's (190 down to 152) and still dropping. Our doctor (gastro interologist) has admitted he's stumped and is currently contacting a professor in Miami as a last hope. The only thing our doctor keeps comming back to is the Doxycyclene and that my friend may have had that one rare acute reaction. We're frazzled and don't know what to do next.

I was on topamax for about 2 years. I took it for frequent migraines caused by my sinus's. I had all the normal side affects but got used to it after awhile. The only one i didn't get used to was the hair loss. During this time I started allergy injections and now i'm up to my maintenance level. So i decided to ween myself slowly off the topamax. I have been off for about 2 months now and I have been fine on the headache side, but i have started to get other symptoms (i think withdrawal symptoms). They have progressively gotten higher in number as the days go by. First my hair loss has not stopped. I gained about 10-15lbs, I am edgy and climbing the walls all day. I have a really hard time relaxing. I recently developed horrible insomnia, and about a week ago i started having digestive problems including water retention, bloating, gas, irregular bowl movements, and acid reflux. And I've recently had bouts of tightness in my chest and throat which make it difficult to breath (lasts about an hour). I didn't have any of these symptoms while i was on the topamax (except the hair loss), nor did I have them before it.
