Firstly I want to mention that I am a simple Turkish guy whose English is not that good; so, sorry for any incorrect or "hard-to-understand" sentences...
I am 20 yard old male who has mild asthma from my 3-4 years old ages...
But since 1.5-2 years, i changed my doctor , a professor, who gave me Singulair...For the first months, it was extremely wonderful...that with this thing taking one pill before sleep everyday, I was just so wonderful and healthy that I even forgot that I had asthma really...
I hardly used Ventolin inhaler once in 1-2 months...
then I wanted to give it up thinking "maybe i got better and my asthma no longer exist as it happens when they age older, so why bother taking more drugs if I have no asthma at all.."
and I tried 3-4 times..to give up Singulair...
however after the 2nd day I have been really bad at breathing every time I tried that...like i needed to 4-5 time of inhaler as i have never needed before...
has anyone experienced this before?..like you are better when you use Singulair, but when you try to give it up, you are much worser then ever before about asthma...?
..and actually the main things is, started after that...like I thought it might be written at prospectus...I looked at the side effects part..(how funny that some pill that I use everyday , that I look at its side effects for the first time!)..
then sooo interestingly, I realized that almost all those psycho logic effects appeared on me...disorder at sleeping, bad and ABNORMAL dreams, restlessness...(but not hallucination or such extremely serious things...)
..and I just can't explain if it's really "there" and if it's caused by that Singulair but...its just always "there"....since I started using Singulair..I just have very weird and unwanted dreams, and especially I REMEMBER them all (which I would almost never remember my dreams before..) ...I am just a bit restless...because of that sleep thing of course...
I don't know, I can't explain exactly...and I am not sure if I am only having this as the psychological effect of reading all these comments here and also at the prospectus of the Singulair...but I am sure that something is wrong about it...and seriously thinking of giving it up no matter what...

I have been on Apri since July 07' and the first 2 months were terrible. I have never had such bad mood swings in my life, I would cry if someone looked at me wrong, and the urge to scream at people is crazy, I have a 7 year old daughter and a 10 year old step son and I have been unable to treat them with the quality that they need, I have been getting mad at them for the littlest things and they are things that they should not even be getting trouble for. My husband is going crazy because if he tries to talk to me about serious things I start crying. I get very gassy and bloated all the time, I have changed my diet and that has only made it worse. I have been on so many bcps because of serious side effects and I am starting to feel like a lab rat. I am just starting the new yaz that has came out, I am starting it today I really hope that I have better results. The only thing that I liked about the Apri was the fact that I didn't gain weight. One more thing the periods were so painful, I have never had this much pain with a period, and I have a past with ovarian cysts and I normally have really painful periods, but with this pill it was way worse. I hope this helps anyone that is deciding a bcp for themselves.

In addition, wanted to mention that Yasmin's ingredients act like a diuretic. I lost about 5 lbs as well but I also had to run to the bathroom constantly. All around, I am quite concerned with having been on yasmin for the last two years. I was exhausted all the time. So much so that I had to take it in the evenings. I also discovered over time, I lost all my energy. I would want to go right to bed after taking it. Per my first entry below, I had substantial vision changes, developed a heart murmur and am still trying to figure out what the squeezing sensations/pain in my upper and across my upper chest are. Birth control pills are very serious things. Although they have come a long way since our mother's time, hormones are incredibly powerful and they come with risks and side effects. I am relieved to be off of this pill now however I am concerned about having the other symptoms checked.

Blueberry-
I suggest that you speak with your doctor (although my doc will not admit to the correlation of the symptoms that I had and my being on Yasmin). The hot flashes may get worse (mine did) as you take more Yasmin. You may develop other symptoms as you take more pills.
Please refer to some of the posts below in this forum. Yasmin does some serious things (havoc) to your system.
I am waiting to have my second pd since stopping Yasmin. Since my pd is getting closer, I am having more hot flushes/flashes and am much more anxious and shaky.
I took Yasmin for about 5 months, then off for a month then on for 8 or 9 more.
Gina - YES, I am still lightheaded and dizzy! It only lasts 1-2 seconds, but it is there. I too gave up both the occasional glass of wine and Diet Coke to "detox" myself. Seems like it is helping a little. I am not back to myself, not even close. I guess that the Paxil CR is helping too.
I am seeing a nurse practitioner this Thursday. Let's hope that she has some answers for me. This has been a nightmare for me. I just KNOW the Yasmin is to blame, it HAS to be.
Take care everybody!

Recently, my 12 month old son was prescribed Omnicef for what the Doctor thought was strep throat. Before the medication he had a steady temp of 102 and was very un-energetic. After five does of 1 TSP my son broke out in a horrible rash all over his face, torso/truck, and upper part of his arms and legs. He also got a diaper rash and diarrhea. He also was very bad tempered and moody. This was such a change from his past behavior, even when he was sick. The doctor thinks this is an allergic reaction to the mediation and put him on another antibiotic. I am very concerned about this medication and it's side effects. It seems that eveyone is experiencing some very serious things.

I have been taking Yasmin for about 6 years. I didn't really have many side effects at first at least not anything I wanted to blame on the pill because I do take other medications, but after reading all of these problems that others have had, I wonder if I've just been overlooking what Yasmin may be causing. Other than the less serious things like major depression, anxiety, panic attacks, zero sex drive, weight gain, bad headaches, etc., about 3 years ago i had a benign lump removed from my breast. My Gyn said it couldn't have been caused from the pill but my surgeon said it definitely could have been caused from the pill. Then last June I had a mini heart attack. I am 35 and don't smoke. I wonder if the pill was responsible for that as well.
