I had my Mirena put in on Oct 18th. There was some cramping the first day but not again after that. The only thing I am having trouble with is the bleeding. I have bled every day since it was put in and I just want to know how long it will last. I'm really tired of it. I have one other friend who has Mirena and she said she bled for the first day and thats it. Can someone please let me know if this is normal

FYI: It takes about 3 cycles of birth control for your body to get used to it and settle into a regular pattern.

I started taking yasmin this month. I am going to see my doctor this next week because my period was two weeks long and I have continued spotting throughout the entire pack. My main concern is that I may be pregnant and having implantation bleeding. I have also been tired and getting bad headaches.
For anyone else that gets bad nausea at night, I found that eating a banana helps to settle my stomach.

I have just brouight my normally laid back husband home from the ER. He is on his 5th day of levaquin for a sinus infection. He has not slept and has been pacing at night, aggitated and anxious day and night. His heart is racing and he is just not himself. He feels like he's coming undone. His sister said she had the same experience with this drug last year. She felt quite altered. Of course, all meds have side effects but the ER folks, though caring and thorough, hadn't heard of these side effects. only of nausea, dizziness and sleeplessness. I suppose onsse persons sleeplessness can be anothers acute anxiety. My husband can fall asleep sitting on a curb in the middle of a parade, and yet he hasn't slept longer than an hours restless stretch since taking this. They senst him home with Xanax to settle him down enough to sleep. He says he can't wait to feel sane again. I can't wait for him to stop being so wired and revved up. Yikes.

I guess you right about not being able to sue the Pharma, that is if they would have listed the worst side effects on the label. Or if my doctor would have warned me, that this medicine could kill me. If all the websites are correct, I should only be taking 250/50 for my copd, not the 500/50 that I have been taking for 3 years. I understand your thinking, that maybe one drug could help you with your illiness, but the cure could kill you. I mean I may not die with a Pulminary disease, but; if I am lucky I could die of one of the side effects. That is what is wrong with the medicine and health fields in this country, why should we have to settle for dying from any medicine, especially when the medicines cost more than a lot of people's mortgages every month. It is not a good trade off. I understand though, 20 years ago, I got lead poisioning, and was told that if I take the med. to cure me, it was only a 50/50 proposition, but; if I didn't take it I would surely die, but; that was 20 years ago. Today we should not have to choose which medicine is going to kill us. If we sit silently by and allow the pharmacuticles to choose profits over the right and moral thing to do then we deserve what they do to us, but; my friend if somebody does not stand up and say enough is enough then all hope is lost.

hi jess, glad i am not the only one with sinus problems,it drives me crazy! snap on the greasy skin/hair. this may just be a hormonal blip that will settle once the body gets back into it's own natural cycle of hormones (this could take a while!) i use the naturally active range by liz earle, not sure if it is available in the USA? i either buy my stuff from QVC or from the liz earle website,i recommend the cleanse & polish and also the super balm concentrate for oily skin, spot on is great for zapping those annoying zits too!

Singulair was a BAD BAD BAD choice for my children. I wish I had never agreed to give it a try. I have three children who were put on it for their allergies to take with their zyrtec that did not seem to be able to keep up. The Doctors all assured me singulair is a very safe and effective drug with very little if any side effects.

Well over the years we have had the stomach pains, vomiting, ear infections, loss of appetite, bad dreams, behavior issues, explosive aggression, unable to focus for long, muscle and joint pains, hair loss, unable to sleep at night because they are restless and cannot settle but unable to wake up in the morning, acting angry about nothing all the time. I was laying beside my son one night because he was sick and I could hear his heart beating so fast like it was going 100mph. He could not settle and when he did he was jerked awake by bad dreams. I gave him a singulair just hours before for his allergies and cough.

The Doctors still tell me singulair does not cause these kinds of side effects. Funny it all stopped when we stopped giving the medicine to them. Now they are eating so much now like they were starving all this time and need to catch up. They sleep like rocks and they are just turning out to be nice children to be around again. And the purple bags under their eyes that the Dr's kept telling me were caused by allergies are disappearing. I am thinking it was caused by not being able to rest. The laughter I hear in my home is like music to my ears. We don't have angry outbursts anymore. The older children tell me they feel so much better now that they are not taking that medicine anymore. My smallest told me his tummy does not hurt anymore. It used to hurt every night but not anymore.

I will never allow my children to take it again. This stuff is like poison to us. The Dr can keep it! I just hope giving this to them has not caused any long term health issues for them that we have yet to find out about.

Merck needs to run a new study on this medicine. I wish the FDA would yank it.

I gave this to my 4 year old daughter and I don't even know where to start. My daughter was pretty sluggish the first two days but I thought it was because she did not feel good. She started feeling a little bit better so I stopped the medication. My daughter is a totally different person. She is so hyper I can not settle her down she is jumping off furniture, and I talk to her and it is like she can not hear me. Her eyes are dialated and she acts like she can not stand herself or her skin. My uncle works for the ER and I called him he said that she is having withdraws from the medication. That it is a family to sudifed and everyone responds different. I would be very careful before you give your children or yourself this medication.

Lisa Here,

just an update went to docs yesterday and my old family doctor has moved to this clinic and i was so relieved to be able to tell him all about this poison. He is going to monitor me for a while with the blood pressure issues and cholestrol, pulse was fast (really) and pressure was up but not as high on lower reading as xmas so guess thats reassuring. He has taken bloods and checking all my level so will get them friday so be sure i will let u all know the results.
He was so shocked by side effects but told me the governments has not put it on its pbs scheme so obviously they are not too sure about it (great huh).
He hopes the pulse rates and blood pressure will drop but said was not sure if this had done permanent damage but from what i can gather most women return to normal levels after a while (am i right). Just finished my period and have no appetite whatsoever and its been 7 days now and am struggling to eat , i noticed Chrissy said something about this , did this settle post yasmin remember only 2mths off for me.
ok any advice will help
Hugs
Lisa

I have been taking Guaifen for 3 days for a sinus infection. . .I feel dizzy and dazed from it, and it is making it difficult for me to consentrate and focus at work. It also has made me feel weak and lethargic. . along with cotton mouth and itching all over. My appetite has been surpressed, and I am having trouble resting. It is like my body is tired, but my mind won't settle to sleep.

My doctor prescribed Methylpred for post operative swelling. Mid-way through day one (of the 6 day course of treatment), I began to have the 'shakes'....... I seemed to become hypersensitive to pain and was unable to rest. In fact I found myself pacing and very restless. If I tried to sit, I would feel compelled to shake my foot....... Very disconcerting.

The following morning when I saw my doctor for my post-op visit, I mentioned my symptoms. Though I likely didn't need to; I was shaking and trembling so badly. He said my reaction was not uncommon and suggested that I skip 'day 2' and commence with 'day 3' level of medication. If the shaking was still bad and inhibiting me from sleeping; to skip to 'day 5'.

I have done so. I'm still shaking though perhaps not as badly. I can discern little inprovement in my swelling. Though I am continuing to use ice packs as he also directed me to do.

Over all I can't objectively say that this has helped my swelling or the expected discomfort cause by it. I will try to following through with the next several pills of Methylpred as my doctor suggested. I'm home now and my husband and I can sort of settle in for the next several days and moniter my situation.

I'm scheduled for my next post-op visit (to remove stitches) in 10 days. I anticipate that by then most of my swelling will have diminished considerably.

Personally I have to wonder if for post operative swelling; if the side effects I'm experiencing are worth whatever benefit the medication my offer.
