I was just at the Optomalogist's office 6/19/07 for seven hours and ER for five hours. I was being treated for Acute Angle Closure Glaucoma.
Started with a sneeze on 6/19 a.m. that brought on blurry vision in right eye. As the day progressed both eyes became affected. Pressure in right eye was 51 and pressure in left eye was 50. (pressure should be between 12-15) Eye Doctor tried to bring down eye pressure by giving me Diamox 250 mg and drops of Istalol and Alphagan (ended up getting a full 1000 mg of Diamox) before they set me to the ER for an I.V. of Mannitol to deliver medicine faster, which brought down my pressure to right 32 and left 28. Back at Eye Dr's 6/20 pressure is down to right 20 and left 22.
Will follow up again with them on Friday. This is all due to me taking 25 mg. of Topamax for the last three weeks for Migraines. Surgery would of been my next option if the I.V. did not work. They were talking about using a laser to cut a hole in my eye to relieve the pressure. Still have blurry vision today but it is slowly coming back. I wanted to find out about other people with the same type of problem as me.

Very odd - I seem to have chronic bacterial prostatitis (at 25 years old and in very good shape, it's embarassing).
I tried Cipro, but it screwed up my muscles (I work out alot) and then was prescribed Doxy. Doxy seemed to make my symptoms better, but it didn't eradicate the infection - I've been on it almost non-stop for two months.
Side effects WERE minimal - irritated esophagus/throat, some bloating and gas. THEN - just the other night, after counting 30 minutes, I went to bed. Soon after I felt this chest pain, relatively sharp, somewhat burning. My mouth on the inside started to tingle even - I was scared as all hell that it was my heart, but this really seemed like the drug.
Woke up 6 hours later to go to university (basically seven hours after the pill was taken), and after eating a little food, had the same pains again, though not as extreme. I've stopped the drug now and am scared to go back to it.
Anyone have a similar issue?

Works like a dream for me, as the ads say. HOWEVER, I only take it 1x or 2x/week when needed. If I take it a second night in a row, I find it's less effective, which makes it easier for me to stay off.
Must admit it's tempting to take it every night, "chase that high" so to speak, but I can see it won't work anyway.
What I love is how it gently eases me to sleep, and shuts off all those stress-related thoughts that keep me awake. I think that's the best part- it's like an OFF button.
Night goes by very quickly, though- seven hours feels like a minute. Sometimes diarrhea the next morning and grogginess. So far so good.

I was diagnosed as having Hypothyroidism in 1-07. My TSH was 83 and I was sleepy all the time, moody and anxious, hair falling out, gaining weight, heavy clotting peiods, etc. I was 51 and it was all blamed for a while in perimenopause. I have been on Synthroid .50 since then and some things are better like hair loss and sleepiness. My last check a few months ago was 1.3. What I hate most of all is waking up after a few hours of sleep and I feeing like I am on some kind of speed. My mind is wide awake and jumping from one thought to another, sometimes sweating heavily with my heart racing. I was diagnosed 10 years ago with Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia and was on Beta blockers for a while. I have a new doctor now and never discussed this with her. The anxiety is awful sometimes too . I start to get fears of not being able to swallow or breathe but can keep it under control. An average night of sleep is five broken up hours of sleep and every now and then from exhaustion I will get close to seven hours. I am foggy headed a lot but I never hardly yawn or feel sleepy in the daytime.
