19 years old; got first shot 09/04/07; became ill on 10/06/07, but did not suspect Gardasil; got second shot on 10/30/07. Symptoms: severe acid reflux, vomiting several times a day (every day for 9 weeks), motion sickness, dizziness, ear pain, recurring nausea, severe abdominal pain (especially just before and during menstruation), diarrhea (several times a day), extreme fatigue, weak/achy legs, muscle tenderness throughout the body, recurring headaches, intermittent back pain, weight loss of 25 lbs in 9 weeks. It was is if she had been poisoned. Unable to function; missed classes and had to resign from part-time job. Underwent numerous medical tests; all were normal. Tried several different medications; none were effective. Doctors believe she had an autoimmune reaction to the Gardasil vaccine. After 9 weeks, she recovered on her own. Thank God, she did not get third shot!!! Residual problem as of 08/08: extreme abdominal pains, cramping, and nausea each month during menstruation. Keeping our fingers crossed that there are no future complications.

Unbelievable... I took a Kenalog shot in March for spring allergies, and have had continuous bleeding ever since, went to my OBGYN, he said it would not have been the Kenalog shot that caused this.. and he scheduled me for a hysterectomy because we couldn't get the bleeding to stop... i'm still bleeding, however I have canceled the procedure. I'm sorry that so many people are suffering from this, and the Doctors keep telling us it isn't causing all these horrible side effects. I hope mine passes soon, cause all this bleeding is about to get me down... but I don't want to have a hysterectomy for just no reason........ GOOD LUCK TO US ALL!!!!

I was diagnosed with severe sinusitis a week ago, and my doctor prescribed omnicef for me since I was allergic to PENICILLIN. After the first day on Omnicef, I felt fine, perhaps a little better. As days continued to pass, however, I began to get some horrible reactions. They started out mild, and now (after taking it for the seventh day) I have major tongue and gland swelling in addition to a horrible headache and weakness. I've felt close to fainting several times throughout the past several days. I went through a random bout of depression a couple days ago, too, and there was no reason why. I feel more irritable, but I've been attempting to control it. I haven't lashed out wrongly at my loved ones yet, but I've come pretty close. I have some pain in my lower abdomen (where the intestines are located) as well, but only when I walk in a quick manner. No diarrhea, yet, but I think that's because I normally have digestion problems (constipation). Some of the joints in my hands are acting funny. They aren't as strong as usual, and they've been going numb/cold more often, causing their movements to be a little slower/stalled.
I'm seventeen, and when my mom contacted the doctor yesterday, the doctor said that "these aren't allergies/side effects" of this medication, and that I need to continue taking them. So I took them again yesterday (the seventh day), and that's when the swelling of the tongue and glands in my throat took place. When my mom called today and notified the doctor of that issue, the doctor said that..oh, how was that worded... That "it's the first time I've had this reaction" (while on this medication), and that it isn't caused by that medication but from something else. I'm sorry, but I'm not taking any other medications, and I haven't eaten anything strange/new that would cause me these difficulties. It's definitely the medication.
I'm done with this medication. After doing research on it this morning, I've learned that at least ten percent of those allergic to penicillin is also allergic to omnicef, and I'm allergic to penicillin. Why my doctor is being so stubborn about these reactions, I don't know. I guess this is just an example of a doctor who isn't well-educated and sticks ONLY to the side-effects/allergic reactions listed on the prescription bottle. If problems persist, my mom will take me to another doctor. For now, I'm going to stick to the Neti pod and nasal spray to try to rid me of my sinusitis. Maybe it'll work out alright and my problems from this medication will go away quickly. I'm sick of being sick all summer.

I have posted several times. My 16 year old daughter took singulair for 4.5 years starting 11-17-03 and ending 3-28-08. She was the dancer, cheerleader who starting cutting her legs with razors and completely changed. Lost friends, depressed, withdrawn, anxiey attacks, headaches, stomach aches on and on and on..... I took her to a Psychiatrist who gave her Fluoxetine which did not help. She is doing much better now that she is off Singulair but will never be the same. She found a lump in the back of her neck and a lump in the groin area. I remember Concerned citizen mentioning Lymphoma(cancer) discovered in some of the Singulair Children because of the reduced immune system connection. I have also found some info on this on line. We are going to the Doctor Thursday and I will have tests run. Concerned citizen are you still out there? Have you found out anything else? Sue

i feel AWFUL reading this. i have on the ring since 16. im now 21. i cant believe how i dealt with this mess for 5 years!(and is now just realizing like TODAY now realizing). Before i continue, the ring usually fall out when when its MIA(missing..). When you poop or pass gas ur lady mussels pushes it down(like givn birth). Also one time i started having pains like my period was coming. That meant i needed a new ring. I just bought one so i knew it hadn't "ran out". I checked myself for the ring. It was gone. Lets just say i found it under the bed from the night b4 lol. i say this b/c they don't get lost in you. neither does tampns but this is NO JOKING MATTER. I know that i WAS a happy OUTGOING energetic young woman. I have thought to myself several times why aren't i going anywhere? It seems for that last few years my life's story is really basic and it includes the following:
random moodiness, fits of crying coming out of no where, terrible PMS symptoms , increased irritability with my boyfriend, white lumpy discharge toward the end of my 20 something days when its time be replaced, itchiness sometimes ,i was told i had bacterial vaginitus last Wednesday , random painful stabbing sensation in the vaginal area, but i haven't really experienced increased dryness during sex, major lack of sex drive, painful breasts and or extreme swelling of the vaginal walls during and after sex. I will tell you guys a SECRET if u twist the nuva like a bow. it will perfectly sit inside you w/o moving and u wont feel a THING! that's how i stopped mine from sliding around. i also noticed when i have it like that no spotting or NOTHING until its time for a new one...
I found this sight by looking for nuvaring lawsuits and i found much more than i bargained for. I never put all of these symptoms together b/c i was a teen and going thru teen things. I am a grown woman and i realized something IS wrong. This isn't me. My sudden outcries and fits of rage wasn't enough for me to realize bc it is hormones that i was taking and i expected that. The headaches and wanting to sleep all day was surely coming from work and school & in my alone time my family and friends thought i was too busy to be bothered... And i was! Sulking in my room about nothing for hours. Now i reflect back as i type. I am more depressed that i missed out on fun and business opportunities b/c of this and didn't even see it coming.i so badly want to go "natural" but i have never been preggo and don't want to be now bc when i do get preggo for the first time i wanna plan my pregnancy. My friends call there babies "patchbaies or pillbabies" b/c that was the method they were actively using at the time!PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE!:Does anyone out there know of anything better? ****** if you do.

I am a 45 year old black female. After the death of my father, I started experiencing blood pressure problems and headaches. I was diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea 2 years ago. Not having bought a CPAP yet has contributed to a lot of the blood pressure and headache problems. But, my GP put me on Toprol in June '08. I am having difficulty sleeping.Every time I eat, I have severe gas and my chest is hurting off and on. There has got to be a better solution. I started exercising and using Isagenix (******). It is simply wonderful - I have lost weight and toxins. When I go to my doctor on tomorrow, I am going to ask him if I can get off of Toprol. I do not like the way this medication makes me feel.

At the age of 17 I was diagnosed with Acid Reflux. I was given a couple stomach medications, in which one of them was Reglan, for my nausea. I then began experiencing "severe" anxiety attacks and found myself very depressed. I was unable to be around people and sadly contiplated suicide several times, when oddly my life was great and pretty normal. I was sent to a therapist in which he also could not resolve the problem. I was put on anti-depressants which partially helped. When I experienced anxiety attacks I was force myself to sleep them off, causing myself a sleeping-disorder called insomnia. I also bagan to lactate milk, when I was not pregnant. I did not know that the Reglan WAS the cause of all my symptoms until the age of 23 when I was hospitalized. I had stopped taking all my medication for over three years and was doing very well. When I was in the ER a nurse seen that Reglan was on my chart and since I was experiencing nausea, she inserted the Relgan into my IV. Within 15 minutes I began to freak out, I was having an extreme anxiety attack. I was yelling I that I wanted go home. I felt like ripping my hair out. That was when another nurse (also a good friend of mine) seen me and said I was having a reaction to the Reglan. The doctor came in and explained that the Reglan was cause of my anxiety. After I calmed down hours later, I explained my passed symptoms and he said that all my symptoms where Reglan related side effects. I DO NOT RECOMMEND REGLAN!!! It's better to feel like or even to throw up, then to feel like taking your own life and not knowing why...

I've been taking Doxy for only about a week now but since I've been taking it I have been experiencing a burning feeling in my stomach and extreme nausea. I came to this site today after throwing up my breakfast. Reading all these posts only to realize that Doxy not only caused my Nausea problem but problems in my relationship with my boyfriend! I had to apologize to him yesterday after blowing up (several times) crying for stupid reason and being extremely depressed. He thought I was unhappy with him and was about to break up but I told him that I thought my hormones were just not in synch. Now I realized that this drug caued my depression...eeesh! I am relieved to find out I am not crazy. I just got off the phone with him and he's relieved too. I'm going to continue my prescription because I only have a few more days left of it. I feel bad for those of you that were prescribed it for such a long period of time.

I've taken Lisinopril (10 mg once a day) now for two months and am reasonably happy with it so far. My BP seems under control. I bought a BP monitor and record the results on a spreadsheet. Since starting Lisinopril in early May, my average BP is 112/64, down quite a bit from where it used to be. I often check it several times a day. I do have some side effects, the worst of which is light-headedness when I rise from sitting or lying down. I also have some tiredness. Lately I've developed itchless red spots on my right forearm that come and go. My big concern is what longterm use of Lisinopril will do to my body. My goal is to continue with a diet and exercise program and, with the doctor's guidance, wean myself completely off this medicine by the end of the year. I would suggest to anyone who hasn't to buy a BP monitor, record the results and show them to your doctor. The doctors treat you on one snapshot of your BP taken at their office, and BP readings can change dramatically during the day, depending on the situation. If your average BP, say, is 135/80 at home and you're being treated for what the doctor sees, perhaps 160/95, questions arise as to dosage and to the necessity of taking any BP medication at all. walterj

Let me just say that like so many other women on this site I have been stressing over the predicament that Mirena has put us in. Yes, I was warned about having not had children that I am not a good candidate for it but I am in my early twenties and don't want children any time soon and I had been on Depo shots for as long as my Dr. would let me, so don't judge. The fact of the matter is that for the past two years since the insertion I have wondered what the hell is wrong with me!!! I have been extremely moody, depressed, and have had several strange symptoms including headaches, acne, weight gain, and the overall feeling of someone in the nineties instead of being 22. I have never been a lazy person or someone prone to acne. I have been to the doctor several times and she keeps saying it's not Mirena; I'm not convinced!!! I have not had a menstrual cycle since I started depo five years ago, you would think I would be a happy person but I'm not. I don't know what to do, I'm afraid to take it out and be wrong about it and get pregnant. But on the other hand I'm severely depressed about the weight gain and the more and more I exercise and diet doesn't matter. I have gained over 20 pounds and gone up 2 dress sizes, because of this I don't feel like having sex because I'm tired or I don't feel sexy. My marriage is suffering from my mood swings, lack of libido, and not wanting to do fun things people my age do. I've lost several friendships by not wanting to leave the house, I feel like it's starting to take over my entire life. I thought it was just me having these problems but the more I read other peoples posts the more I feel like I'm not alone. You don't have to be forty and have 3 kids to know what it feels like to have symptoms like this and be told over and over it's just in your head. Thanks to every one who wrote on this web site, it's comforting to know you're not the only one having problems. When I get it removed I will post again with how it has changed.

I am 24 years old and I had a pulmonary embolism last month. I was on the birth control YAZ for only 3 months, and that's what doctors seem to think caused it. My insurance only paid for me to be in the hospital for three daysand I was sent home with lovenox shots and Coumadin pills.
One month later, my INR is still unstable, fluctuating so much that they are checking it twice per week. My dosage is constantly changing. I have a red, painful rash on my buttocks - it hurts of sit for more than a few minutes. I am losing clumps of hair. I have lost my libido. I am very irritable and snap at my husband several times per day. I have a headache almost daily and frequent nausea.
I hate these side effects!

My son is 6 years old and he has been on and off Singulair for about 2 years. He was off since last Fall 2007, but was put back on in April 2008 for allergies. He began telling me that he was having "dreams" during the day. He would then tell me these totally bizarre thoughts, "dreams" that he was having. They were very strange and perverted and violent. I asked him why he was saying this stuff and he said, "I just can't help it, they pop into my mind." I thought that he was going through a phase because he was bored. He is in 1/2 day kindergarten and I attributed this to too much television and boredom. I was thinking that someone was feeding him this crazy information (kids on bus, class, etc.) and he was repeating it to me. He was too showing OCD symptoms, afraid if he touched his feet- "is that dirty??" afraid if he touched someone's hand, "is that dirty if I touched Tim's hand?" He would also cry and whine often over the simplest things. I thought this was a phase. Our prescription for Singulair ran out and I did not fill. I started noticing a change over a week's time period. My little boy who was coming to me several times a day with bizarre "dreams" had not mentioned them at all. His compulsive behavior has stopped and so has the whining. I feel lucky that I did not fill the prescription because I would not have even thought it was the singular, since there are no side effects like the one's I mentioned above on the label. I am sick about this!!

I am the husband of a women with a Mirena, it is not fun. I am living with someone that I was not married to. I love my wife and in the name of love and a Christian marriage I wil stand by her for better and for worse. I am not saying that I haven't thought of ending it all by leaving home, I have done that several times. But I am thinking of my children and the woman that I was married to 15 years ago.
The lord created women to protect the baby in the womb and that is exactly what is happening. The Mirena is touching the side of the womb, imitating pregnancy, so the woman will protect the unborn and "kill" of everything that come close to the "baby". That explain the low sex drive of all the woman on this site.
I hope Bayer receive all this emails and take responsibility for all the broken marriages they created with this device straight from hell.
Thank you for this site

I am 30 years old and have been put on Depo Lupron after a laproscopy to help with endometriosis. I am 2 months into a 6 month course (one shot every 3 months) of Depo Lupron and my life has drastically changed. I started feeling life altering hot flashes and night sweats two days after the first shot and nearly drown myself in sweat 24 hours a day. I experienced a little postpardum depression after giving birth 6 years ago but have found myself sunk into a sinking hole of depression and anger like I've never felt before. I bawl at McDonald's commercials and become enraged if the dishwasher isn't loaded properly! I am ecstatic one minute and severely depressed the next. I have even had thought of suicide since being on this shot. I am normally a very outgoing, athletic, cheerful, happy person - but since taking this shot, I have become a stanger in my own head. I tell my family all the time that I need to "go stick my head in the freezer" to cool off because of the horrific hot flashes. I have to carry a handheld fan with me 24 hours a day and sleep with ice packs to keep cool. Since the shot started 2 months ago, I have lost all sexual drive, am thoroughly exhausted by 9am and find myself crying at my desk at work by late afternoon because I am so tired. My family thinks I am going crazy and I've never fought more with my husband. My daughter has gone to grandma's for awhile because I'm just so tired and irritable that I feel like an awful mother. Migraines have also come full circle since the onset of the shot as well as blurred vision and shaky hands. I'm a little achy throughout the as well. I know that everyone responds to medication differently, but I'm finding a lot of people with the same side effects as myself and have to wonder why the doctors don't warn patients about these types of problems before prescribing medications such as Depo Lupron. I don't think I'll be going back for the second shot. Could it get any worse?

I am a 56 year old woman and my doctor started me on 10 mg Lisinopril in March. Within 24 hours of starting it I developed a very annoying cough. At my next doctors visit she told me my bp was not down enough and wanted to increase the dosage. When I asked her if the cough could be from the Lisinopril she gave me some samples of Benecar HCT. The only problem I had with that was muscle weakness and some palpitations that went away after a few days. When I got the prescription filled I found that my insurance didn't cover it and it was quite expensive so I called my doctor back and she wanted me to try the Lisinopril again at 20mg and see what happened. That very same night the cough came back with a vengeance, along with dizziness. I decided to try to tough it out but after ten days now the cough is so bad it's unbearable. It keeps me up at night and I cough till I gag and cry. On several occasions I have coughed until I vomited. I couldn't take it any more and stopped taking it two days ago. I called my doctor today and she told me to stop taking it and now we're going to try Norvasc.

I had Mirena implanted June 06 after my second child. I patiently waited the three months they say it takes for the side effects to go away... Well it's been two years. I spot frequently and though I do have much lighter periods I never know when I'm going to get my period so that's not very helpful. I used to run like a swiss timepiece! I've since wasted a lot of money on pregnancy tests. I've been unable to lose weight (1600 calories a day + the gym 4 times a week) My primary physician actually tested my thyroid to see if that was the weight problem. The acne is getting worse - on my back - and I've never had skin problems. To top it all off no sex drive and my husband has informed me several times that since the implantation I am psychotic at times. The Mirena makes pms worse not better! It's coming out in 5 days - thank goodness it's time for another baby!

I have been on Lamictal for about five months for bipolar II. I has been increased slowly over these months and I am now up to 300 mg a day. I have a tendency to sometimes forget things but remembering numbers has never been a problem for me. In fact I can look at someone's tag number driving down the road and remember it for days. Phone numbers of people I have known for 20 years would stick and I wouldn't even have to call them on a regular basis to know the number. However, recently while trying to use my bank debit card at the store I was asked to enter my PIN number and totally could not remember. I tried it several times but it never came to me. I felt like a fool!. At this time, that was three days ago and I still cannot remember it!
This is very, very distressing to me. I feel like something has been wiped clean and that I will never get it back.
My Lamictal dose has been increased in the last couple of weeks and I thought maybe Lamictal or one of my other meds could be making this happen so I started researching and found this site where other people were complaining of memory loss while on Lamictal.
Headaches are another common side effect for me while on this med. It has really helped me emotionally and I need to know if the memory loss is just going to be a temporary thing and it will get back to normal or if I will be forgetting more and more over time. PLEASE HELP!!!

I had Mirena inserted in August 2007. I was diagnosed with High Blood Pressure, and the doctor had to take me off of NuvaRing because of the connection of the hormones in birth control and HBP. My Gyno said that Mirena was very low hormone and would not affect my BP. Since I have been on Mirena, my BP has stabilized, but now I get dizzy spells, often, and I constantly have a headache. I also have cramping, sometimes very severe. I have gained ten pounds, and I have bad acne. I work out religiously and eat very healthy. I kept wondering how I gained this weight, and couldn't get it off, until I found this website. Also, I have never had an acne problem, and at 31 years old, I don't think I should have the skin of a sixteen year old, especially because I had perfect skin at 16. I found this website because I was having spotting, again, tonight, so I decided to GOOGLE the phrase "Mirena Side Effects." The spotting is not unusual since I have had the Mirena. It is one of the side effects that I experience regularly, especially after intercourse. Intercourse has been a problem, too. I have been married, happily, for ten years, and our sex life was great until I had the Mirena put in. Now, I don't want my husband to touch me, and I have even told him several times, since having the Mirena implanted, that I want a divorce. I think this has to do with the physical and emotional changes that I have had since getting Mirena. I have thought about having it removed, but I am finally starting my career after staying home with my three children. So I am torn because I don't want to get pregnant. My husband has said several times that he thinks that the Mirena has caused the problems in our marriage, and after seeing what others have to say, I am sure he is right. Although I have been thinking the same thing for months. Just a couple more points to make: Like some of the other woman, I have insomnia. When I had the Mirena inserted, I think I experienced TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome) because I had an extreme pain where it was place, followed by immense dizziness, nausea, blurred vision and a rushing sensation in my face and head. When I went to get a checkup, I was told that the Mirena was "lost," and the doctor had to do an ultrasound to locate it. I have lower back pain and strong, period-like cramps. And I have an irregular period with spotting throughout the month. (It is getting expensive having to buy new panties all the time.) I think that I have made my decision to have the Mirena removed.

I have had 1 remicade infusion so far for ulcerative colitis. The next day a bunch of spots appeared on my lower legs. There were 30-40 of them, small, roundish, purple/dark red. They looked like blood spots under the skin.
It wasn't a rash and they didn't itch or hurt. My doc had no explanation, and I haven't heard of anyone else having this reaction. They checked my blood for a clotting problem and didn't find anything. The spots faded away over a week or so. My next infusion is in 2 days, so we'll see if they reappear.
I have also been experiencing a weird kind of insomnia where I am so physically antsy I CANNOT keep lying still, I have to shake my body or kick my legs or something. I read up on restless legs syndrome and the symptoms sure sound like what I am experiencing. I don't know if it's connected to the Remicade - I read that iron deficiency can also cause it and I am anemic due to the UC. But since Remicade can disturb the central nervous syndrome, it seems possible. Anyone else experience RLS with Remicade?

I guess I owe my boyfriend (possibly ex-boyfriend now) an apology. I'm in my first week of using the NUVARING and already I've engaged in some erratic behavior. I cry several times a day and feel the urge to throw screaming fits. I am 29 years old and in no way am I a tantrum-throwing type of woman. My 2nd day on NR I became extremely angry with my boyfriend for talking to a girl and I left him to find a ride home from the club. I have been someone completely different from myself these past few days and I couldn't figure out why. I've also been very drained and sluggish. I am so glad I found this page. So I'm not bipolar, NUVARING just makes me crazy.

Depression, foot pain, joint pain, bloating, feeling like I have to have a bowel movement all the time which led to severe hemorrhoids and severe rectal bleeding. Thought I had colon cancer till I underwent colonoscopy and Dr. ruled that out. Severe fatigue, insomnia, blurred vision. I guess you could say if there is a side effect I have it, even my teeth feel sensitive and I have been to the Dentist several times this year and have very good teeth. I'll be getting off this and calling Medwatch to report my side effects, I recommend that everyone else with side effects do the same. They can be reached at www.fda.gov/medwatch
