I am a 33 year old female who was diagnosed with severe endometreosis after an emergency lap in July of 2009. I had it around my bladder, a mass in my left ovary, and all over 3/4 of my pelvic walls. I have been on Lupron since. I just received my 4th injection. I was in severe abdominal pain that was steadily getting worse until this 4th injection, so I went to get a 2nd opinion. He recommended I stay on the Lupron. The goood news is the pain has finally eased! I am still foggy, forgetful, irritable. I am working out more than ever, am not losing, but not gaining anymore.
To the people who wonder about getting pregnant after this, I have heard MANY wonderful stories of people who were able to after this treatment...so it is a possibility :) I had my son when I was 21, and am hoping to get married and have another child, so I am holding onto the faith that this will work.
I know that this feels horrible with all the side effects, but if there is even a possibility of having another baby, I am willing to go through it. Good luck to you all!

I was prescribed 7 days of Avelox 400 mg for bronchitis. On my fourth day of taking this medication, I began to suffer from severe abdominal pain, cramps and debilitating diarrhea. These symptoms were so bad that I missed a whole week of work. I was taking each pill with dinner in the evening and then I was up all night back and forth to the bathroom. I took 6 of the 7 pills and then refused to take the last one when it became obvious that Avelox was the cause of these symptoms (the only side effect listed on the bottle was dizziness, which I did not experience). I have now been off Avelox for 2 days and I am still suffering from severe abdominal pain and diarrhea. I am afraid to eat anything because it goes right through me and it is very painful.

I am taking probiotics now to regain the good bacteria in my digestive tract, but I am still in a lot of pain. My sister, who is a physician assistant, told me that it should take from 48 hours to a week for this to flush out of my system. She said that Avelox is an extremely strong antibiotic that she only prescribes for confirmed pneumonia.

I am otherwise a very healthy 42 year-old woman with no allergic reactions to any medications which is why it took me so long to make the connection. I would not recommend this medication to anyone and have told my sister that she should not prescribe it either.

These postings have really helped me. I feel lucky that I did not suffer more severe symptoms.

I am only 24 years old and getting married in February. I need help!!!! I am suppose to get my second shot on the 23rd of this month. I am not sure if I should get it or not. My husband-to-be and I would like to start a family right after our wedding. I feel so bad for him I don't want him to have to turn to movies or anything else to have to get pleased. i just wanted to let you know tha I am a RN. I have been on YAZ for 3 months only. In this time frame, I have had severe abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and back pain. I at first blamed it on the hormones but now attribute it to bad side effects from YAZ. I have already had my Gallbladder out when I was 18 yrs old (side effect of BC pills). Anyway, my doctor just sent me for an upper GI and small bowel follow through....but, I think that it is all related to YAZ. The MD thinks I am just being a "know it all" nurse, but I have research this med. I have lost 12# in 3 months (bonus), lol....but I am sick of being sick...my husband thinks I am a big complainer, but its real and it hurts. I would have been in the ER also, but being a nurse, I am a little more stubborn to go to the hospital. I did go one night because the pain was sooo bad but the wait was 3 hrs and I vomited 3 times while waiting, The pain was now tolerable so I left! I have 5 days left of YAZ, I was going to try to last out the rest of the pack, but after getting severe pain, again, tonight....after eating soup only all day and throwing it up...I am DONE WITH YAZ. I am stopping cold turkey...the body will regulate itself. I want to feel better. I hope once this stuff clears my body, I will feel better once again! Good luck!

I just stopped taking Yasmin after 2 weeks. I was previously taking Yaz, with no major side effects other than an increase in mood swings. The Yasmin has felt like poison! I had severe abdominal pain, nausea, fatigue, chest pain and a general feeling of being sick. Since I have stopped taking it I am starting to feel better but I feel like my body is still trying to recover. Do not take this pill, please try something else.

I took my 2nd Avelox pill at 10am this morning, by lunch time I felt very jittery and anxious, and had isolated tingling in my left hand and foot. Tonight I had severe abdominal pain and then the subsequent emptying of the bowels (ok, that's gross!). I am a healthy 39-year old woman who has never had any side effects from medication. This was prescribed for a sinus infection. Thank you all for your posts about your experience with this horrible stuff. I feel better knowing that I'm not going crazy. Unfortunately, because this is a once-a-day pill, this stuff is still in my system. For those of you who are posting on this site saying you've had no side effects and this medicine worked great, you probably work for Bayer in their PR department....if not and you really did not have any side effects, this site is for those of us who HAVE had side effects.

I had my surgery July 16th. Last Lupron shot was June. My period has started back . I think it took about 2 1/2 months for mine to restart. I stop having the severe .irritating night sweats but I still get these off and on hot flashes that are not as severe as they were. I am hoping that the temperature changes will hopefully stop in the next few months. Although I don't like the body temp changes. I feel much better now that I don;t have the severe pelvic pain.back pain . severe abdominal pain . urinary tension and pain . difficulty standing straight and walking and excessive bleeding.

I was given 6 tablets to cure a sore throat. After the first 2 tablets, I suffered severe abdominal pain and was told to take Imodium to relieve the pain. When the pain went off, I continued taking the third and fourth pill but stopped taking it when I felt unwell. Then the chills and the crying started. I couldn't sleep and thought I was going crazy. I didn't make the connection until I read this website. It has been almost a month since I stopped taking the medication and like most of those who had suffered similar symptoms, I have never had any emotional or mental problems and this is scary. Someone should tell the drug company to post a serious warning on this awful side effect which can really destroy lives. Can someone who have found a solution tell me how long will this last and if there is any way to expedite relief of symptoms because I cannot even concentrate on work, sleep and carry on effectively with daily activities. Thank you.

I got Mirena in Oct. 2008 because I wanted a simpler way to birth control. From day one I began to have problems. I had severe abdominal pain off and on, sometimes even waking me up at night. My face broke out severely and never clears up. I could not sleep restfully and experienced night sweats and mood swings. I have also put on about 15 pounds and have not changed my eating habits. I finally said enough is enough and had it removed September 1, 2009. I feel better and sleep better but I'm still having problems with acne. I still cannot get it under control. I still fell like I made the best decision to have it removed. If I would have found this website early, I would have never got it in the first place.

There is a class action lawsuit for anyone that took Yaz/Yasmin birth control. I just saw the commercial the other day from an attorney in Denver and it's nationwide. Please call Nolan Law Group - Valerie Romo at 888-630-9340. They are handling it nationwide.

I had ankle surgery in March 2009. After several weeks of pain and inflammation, my doctor prescribed a Prednisone dose-pak to "settle everything down." Yesterday, day 1, I took 2 pills before breakfast, 1 after lunch, and 1 after supper. About 4 - 4 1/2 hours after taking my supper dose, I developed SEVERE abdominal pain (akin to labor pains) and diarrhea that lasted for several hours. The pain abated during the night and today I have had very sore abdominal muscles and a little bit of an upset stomach. I never took the bedtime dose

I don't care how much pain I have had in my ankle...nothing compares to the pain I experienced last night. I will never take this medicine again. According to all the information I have read about side effects, nothing indicated I would experience pain like this.

I am hopeful that now the stomach/abdominal pain "settles down."

My Name is N. and I decided to go on birth control to help with my PMS symptoms. My doctor prescribed Loestrin 24 Fe. I had a Sunday start. I got my period on the 5 March that lasted until the 12 March. I started taking the Loestrin on the 8 March. I noticed on the 15 of March I started bleeding, not a lot at first, but after a couple of days it got heavier and I noticed I started to clot a lot. I called my doctor and she said this was expected and I should continue. After a couple of days the bleeding continued and the clotting increased. I called the 1800 number and they took my info and tell me to continue, that my body will take a while to adjust. On about the 3rd week the bleeding continued and the clotting got bigger. I had these huge pieces of clots coming out of me, three to four pieces at a time. Never have I clot like this before or seen such large amount of clots. It got so scary that I decided to take picture of the clots. I would have severe abdominal pain after and before these clots. I feel like I am about to pass out. I have 4 more white pills to take but after reading these other side effects tonight, this is it for me. My scariest thinking is where are these clotting coming from and why they are so large. I have been scared to stop taking these pills because I think this might be more damaging than good and since I have a couple more days stopping right now might not be the best thing to do. As I said before I have four more white pills and I am going to stop. I don’t have any children and I don’t want to think what these pills might be doing to my body.

After doing much research on Mirena and speaking with my Dr., we had decided that Mirena would be the best option for me considering my history of blood clots. I had Mirena inserted on February 15th, 2009 and there was some slight discomfort having it inserted and I seemed to be fine for the first few days. But about a week ago, I started having severe abdominal pain and cramping to the point where I couldn't even stand up straight. I also started to have lower back pain, something I have never had before having Mirena. I love to work out and the pain from the Mirena was so bad, that I couldn't even THINK about exercising. The severe abdominal pain returned again and I called my Dr. this morning because the pain was just so unbearable ,and I was lucky enough to be get an appt the same day. So I went to my Dr. at 1:30p.m. on Thursday, March 5th,2009, only 3 weeks after having the Mirena to have her remove it. This may sound silly, but the minute she took it out, I felt so much better. Of course everyone is going to respond differently to these types of things, but I just wanted to make women aware of my experience with Mirena. Be sure to do ALL of your research, good and bad before deciding to get Mirena. I am so glad that I made the decision to have it removed and can now return to a normal lifestyle and being able to exercise again and not having to worry about a foreign object inside me.

My daughter received her first vaccine in Dec. 2007 at 15 y/o. We really didn't notice anything out of the ordinary until she received her second shot in Feb. 2008. In March of that same year she began experiencing severe abdominal pain and an unusual rash on her feet and ankles. We have been through many different tests from acid reflux to testing for Ulcerative colitis to Crohn's disease. We do not have a diagnosis as of yet but I recently realized that all of her symptoms began following her second shot. Her symptoms are severe abdominal pain (more severe while on her period), nausea, diarrhea and spotting between her periods There isn't a day that goes by that she does not have pain. She developed the rash on her feet and ankles and itching under her armpits that comes and goes (one doctor states it may be eczema) Nothing is clear to us as to what is going on. She will not be receiving the third shot! There is nothing worse than watching your child suffer as I have watched her suffer! My heart and prayers to all you moms out there and children going through such a horrible ordeal!

Wow. I am so grateful for this thread re: Gardasil. My daughter is 15 and for the past couple of years every doctor and nurse has advised me to get her vaccinated. I also receive forwarded e-mails from friends that only talk about the horror stories. The doctors say don't believe what you read on the internet. The last time she was in for a physical for her sports clearance, I signed the consent form for her to get the vaccine. I also told the nurse to leave it up to her. If she's ready to get it today, let her. If not, no big deal. Up until that time she felt she should get it. I was surprised (and now thankful) that when she came out of the room, she decided against it for no reason. She is the one that when she get a fever, it's severe and she hallucinates, ends up with the weird viruses and out of school for days, has been to the er thinking she was dying with unexplained severe abdominal pain, and even had scarlet fever last year. She's otherwise very healthy, she just gets hit with strange things. That being said, I have no doubt that she would be one of the girls with terrible, possibly life changing side effects and I just cannot take that chance. So, thank you to all for sharing your experiences and I am so sorry for all the pain and suffering this vaccine has caused you all. My heart goes out to you.

I was given Avelox at my clinic for bacterial pneumonia, the doctor said it was a wonder drug and I'd be up and running in a couple of days. I took the medicine that night and I got very dizzy and started sweating, felt like an anxiety attack so I took my xanax and it helped a bit. The next day I tried to get up and about 15 min. later my head started buzzing and my ears were ringing, I tried to walk up the stairs and dropped to my knees at the top step and fell to the ground. I didn't lose consciousness but I couldn't move or speak for several min. when I started to come to, I crawled to my bed and everything was spinning, I started to have severe chest pain and was rushed back to the clinic. The doctor said to stay on the Avelox and take it before bed and finish all the dose, so I did, and gradually got worse and worse. I went to my doctor the day after Christmas and told him what happened, he said I still had crackling in my chest and my cough was still bad, he put me back on Avelox for 3 days, so I've now been on it for 10 days. I became so weak and couldn't eat, it felt like the food wouldn't go down, I was sweating, dizzy, still had cough so I called my doctor again and he put me on prednisone taper and another 5 days of Avelox. Two days later I ended up in the hospital with severe abdominal pain, diarrhea, muscle weakness(felt like I had lost muscle), severe bone pain to the touch, sweating, extreme fatigue, decreased mental ability, confusion, headaches and chills in my legs. It has been over three months since I first got sick and I feel worse today, my doctor's have no answers or solutions, just let it run its course. I feel trapped in my body, I'm 33 and a mother of two active kids, and I can barely get out of bed most days. I feel like my life has been taken from me and I want it back.

I had the MIRENA inserted 3 months after my second child was born. I had cramping for a few weeks after like my OB warned me. No real heavy bleeding, no acne, no weight gain, depression. I did however develop severe abdominal pain and bloating 3 months later, it was an ovarian cyst that developed and ruptured. The MIRENA has remained in for the past three years and I've been a big fan. However, just a few days ago my stomach became bloated and I'm having some weird periods of mild hip/back pain. Only spotted a tiny bit and have to wait until Monday to see the OB. I'm pretty sure it's the MIRENA....I'll keep you posted.

I was very, very ill with throwing up and severe abdominal pain, kidney issues, high blood pressure, a strange rash, headaches, low grade fever and a few other symptoms. i was in and out of the hospital for about 3 or 4 months until i saw a nutritionist in California named M. This shot has been horrible on my health and overall life but i might be able to help.

Oh, and I was just recently in the hospital with severe abdominal pain. I had been in pain for about 6 days so went in to get checked out. They found that I had 2 massive cysts on my ovaries that had ruptured. I think the Ring may have had something to do with that. I had never once had that problem prior to now....

Only on it for 1 month so far and already having issues. I apparently have the worst case of endometriosis all my doctors have seen, including a cancer specialist that had to do all my surgeries because of the severity. Granted, I am only 31 years old and have had a full hysterectomy. So, after 3 surgeries I am still having severe abdominal pain and bleeding (don't know where that is coming from since I don't have a uterus anymore) so they said try Lupron and I finally gave in. Now I started getting such severe pain in my lower back that I can't stand for longer than 15 minutes and terrible side aches. I started getting headaches (which I already take pills for for years now),and have gotten the hot flashes as well. What are we to do ladies? I am so sick of complaining to the doctors about pain. You feel as if you are a big cry baby. What are my options here and does this ever stop?

I, too, am lactose intolerant and have been taking Lactaid. Just three days ago, I had another attack of severe abdominal pain, constipation, then diarrhea, and the feeling that I needed to vomit. The severe pain lasted for two hours. I still have some discomfort. I nearly called 911. This episode is the third that I have had. I was hospitalized for four days last May. That time and the one previous to it, I was diagnosed with ischemic colitis. No firm explanation was given for the cause other than constipation could cause it. However, the first time that I experienced ischemic colitis, I was not constipated. I now suspect that Lactaid may have brought on all three episodes and will stop taking it. I would much rather have the side effects of milk then those of ischemic colitis!

Ive been on Yasmin for 3 months by which time it shouldve already absorbed in my system. Im 17 and the other day after 3 months of feeling ok but being diagnosed with mild depression and a hormonal imbalance; feeling ok but a little skirmish and over the past week, I got into the shower and nearly passed out twice. This was unusual for me because ive never fainted before and Ive never been dizzy. I got half dressed on the ground opened up the bathroom door and yelled out to mum. If you've ever seen a corpse's face, that's what mine looked like. I wanted to cry coz i was so scared but no tears came out. My legs felt weak and i wanted to throw up and i had a huge headache that lasted probably two-three days; i had severe abdominal/period pain and I thought I was going to die. On top of that I had to miss the day off school and mum had to take me to the doctors. The doctor told me that it was all just to do with Yasmin so she put me on a new pill called Levlen ED. I was so scared and i wouldn't wish this on anyone. If it happens again to me i may have to see a gynecologist. Please if there is anyone out there that has had the similar thing can you please let me know? xx L.

I just posted a side effect on the Yaz page. I know all birth control pills are different for everyone but for the most part I had a lot of success on Yasmin. I was on Ortho Tricyclin for about 2 years in my early 20's and started having severe abdominal pain and severe bloating (all over my body). After several tests (blood work, CT scan, ultrasound, etc.) came back normal, I asked my ob/gyn to switch me to another type of birth control b/c I really didn't feel like myself and when your Mom says "You look like a zombie" then you know something is wrong. He gave me a prescription for Yasmin and I had immediate abdominal/bloating relief and felt normal again. I took Yasmin for 6 years and my only complaint is that I got PMDD the last 6 months I took it. I wasn't sure if it had something to do w/ turning 30 or just being on Yasmin for that long or a combination. I saw a commercial for Yaz and asked my ob/gyn if I could try it. The PMDD went away after the second month on Yaz but next week I'm going to try Yasmin again due to side effects I developed on Yaz (no energy, tired all the time, not feeling alert, feeling depressed). I'm crossing my fingers that Yasmin help me feel normal again and not bring back the PMDD.
