I have been on Lisinopril for (3) months and was coughing to the point of throwing up in the morning and at night. My hands and feet are extremely dry to the point of being severely chapped. I went to the doctor because I though I had and was told to stop taking the medications. I have been off the medication for (2) days and the tickle in the back of my throat and coughing have decreased dramatically. This has taught me to always pay attention to the sheet that I receive when receiving new medication.

I'm on my 3rd ring and i am miserable. The first week i put the ring in i noticed a differance. My symptoms are: extreme paranoia, anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia, shaking, nervousness, diarea, loss of appetite, fatigue, flu symptoms. I am normally an anxious person ut not like this. It is worse since starting the nuvaring. My doctor told me to just give it more time but i'm geting to a point where i feel hopeless. My family can see the change in me. I just put the 3rd ring in a couple days ago but all i wanna do is take it out because i'm so scared. I'm not concerned about pregnancy because i am not sexually active at all. My doctor prescribed this med because of my PMS. I'm using the ring every 3 weeks so i don't get a period at all. I'm afraid of how my body will react if i take the ring out and suddenly get a period again. My pharmasist advised me to leave it in until you would normally take it out but i don't know if i can stand using it anymore. Does anyone have any advice. I'm afraid to talk to my doc about the emotional symptoms because it always seems they never believe the med can cause them. Thanks for all who read this, wish me luck or send me a prayer. Everyone else who's miserable on this BC you're in my prayers :)

I have just started taking Yasmin for a month. So far, I have not found any of the side effects mentioned here. Previously, I had been on Ortho-Tricyclen for over 2 years..However, I never thought that birth control pills could have such so much side effects until my doctor asked me to consider taking Yasmin and I went online to research this pill before I started taking it.. and then, I realized that Ortho-tricyclen gave me all the side effects mentioned here. Ortho-tricyclen made me severly bloated, I was constantly craving for food (which of course contributed to weight gain), I had a lot of acne on my cheeks (I have always had great skin), on top of that I had mood swings, felt depressed, and fatigue most of the time. I could barely get myself to wake up in the morning while I was on Ortho-tricyclen. Now, that I switched to Yasmin, things are much better for me. I didn't feel any side effects mentioned here so far, and I managed to get my skin to clear up and lost some weight too but as far as I know it could take a few months until the side effects kick in so, I will keep observing for symptoms for the next few months.

Mine reaction was to Avelox, which is a fluoroquinolones flor-o-KWIN-o-lones) just like Levaquin. Within less than 5 minutes, I began to feel pressure in my chest. Shortly after that, I began to feel as if I were shaking severly on the inside. (From the outside I appeared to be normal.) I finally had my husband call 911. The paramedics were VERY reassuring that I was going to be ok; however, I didn't feel like it. I had a very difficult time comprehending what they were saying to me - had to keep asking to repeat themselves. All vital signs were totally normal. I went to ER later. I was scared to . Anyway, severe nausea had developed, so they treated that; however, same story - vital signs are all fine. When I got up the next am, began having pressure in chest again. Stayed in bed most of day. Around 24 hrs after taking this medicine, I finally felt normal again. FYI - CIPRO is also in the same family of . Had taken a couple of months prior for Bladder Infection and began itching from that. I will NEVER take another fluoroquinolone medication again. You must be very careful when your doctors prescribe these NEWER medicines. I am sticking to the older from here on out!

Diflucan cleared my yeast infection within hours and I felt great but did experience itching over most of my body but most severly in my vaginal area mainly after urination. I figured out that if I would cleanse myself with just a cotton cloth and cool water it felt better and the itching subsided until the next time I went to the restroom.

Im from Cork,Ireland.I was put on Seroquel to treat my Body Dismorphic Disorder.I have really disliked the way i look for years.Hated the way i look in fact.I was very badly bullied all through my school life and teenage years because i was very heavy at that time.Needless to say i ended up hating myself with a passion. When i left school i went on mission to lose the weight and i lost about 6 stone by eating healthy and fast walking.I can't tell you how proud i felt and iv never felt proud of myself in my life. Then the effects of my teenage years started to creep up on me.I needed to face them. That was a very, very painful time and to make a long story short i got severly depressed and BDD set in.And guess what?I was put on a drug that put the 6 stone back on again and even more.Even though the Doctor's have noticed this they have continued to keep me on this drug.Every time i bring up the issue with my doctor's there response is 'Oh you need to watch the diet'.Now I tell you, I DO NOT eat alot nor do i eat rubbish. And this drug is ment to make me feel better. Now how stupid is that.

I have been on Yasmin21 for 10 days. As soon as I started taking them I noticed that I was feeling different. Spotting came first and has not stopped for the 10 days I've been using them. A couple days ago I started noticing that my breats are severly tender to the point where just walking hurts them. I feel bloated and like I need to eat every couple of hours. Just yesterday I noticed my feet were looking kind of swollen and my leg has cramped up real bad which resulted in limping today. It also changed my mood from the usual happy to on the verge of tears. My sex drive is also gone and I was wondering if this happened to any other women. I decided to stop taking them until I can see a doctor in hope that he will prescribe me a different pill or another method of birth control. I will not be going back on this pill and I am still a little bit sketchy about going on any other birth control pill. All in all this pill made me feel terrible inside and out.

Let me just say, if you are thinking of starting Toprol then you need to consider this. It works great at lowering your heart rate, but it also with make you gain weight, have anxiety attacks, severe shortness of breath, insomnia, and a low libido. Your doctor's are not going to tell you this and will blame all the side effects on other things. At least that was my experience and what seems to be many other experiences according to this site. I was put on Toprol due to an elevated heart rate (186 beats per minute) that was caused by being severly anemic. Now other than being anemic, I was a completely healthy and fit 29 year-old female without any other heart problems. After being on 100 mg of Toprol for 4 days I would periodically feel a dull pain in my chest and would get extremely pale. On the 6th day, the pain was so bad I went to the emergency room, they told me that it was just an anxiety attack. Up until this point in my life, I had never experienced any sort of anxiety or depression and could not think of anything that would cause it (no stress in life, great marriage, etc.) After the visit to the ER, I decided to reduce my Toprol down to 50 mg a day to see if that helped my problem any. After reducing my meds, I felt 85% better. No chest pains. Well, I'm not one to take medication for long periods of time (I think in the long run they can sometimes cause more harm than help) and since I was only to take the Toprol until my anemia was under control, I decided recently to start to wean myself off (without doctor's consent.) I am currently down to 25 mg a day, which hasn't been easy. I've tried to move down to 12.5 a day, but have trouble sleeping and feel very anxious. I've been on Toprol for 2 months and I have gained 10 pounds (eat like I always have...fruits, veggies, whole wheat and lean meat) and have a low sex drive (never a problem before). I'm too young for this crap.

5 years ago my left vocal cord was paralyzed. Doctor felt this was caused by virus. I had surgury to fix then. In November 2006 my allergy doctor changed my allergy medicine to Advair. Soon after my voice starting giving way and I started choking, coughing and had severe phlegm. I passed this off as a bad cold and did not catch the connection. My wife noticed my voice was getting worse through the holidays. By January this year I starting gagging and choking for no reason. My center of my chest felt as if it was severly bruised. I had the gurgling, trouble sleeping at night and I could not breath. It felt like my throat was blocking after coughing and I could not get air in. Constant nasal drip. I made an appointment with my specialist thinking something with my vocal cords was going on. They did not see any major issue with my vocal cords but could tell my voice was in bad shape. I go for more testing end of February 2007. I have a constant metalic taste in my mouth. We saw the post made here after I could not breath. My wife was almost ready to call the ambulance. This stuff is REALLY SCARY. I went off Advair immediately. We called the specialist to tell him. I feel better now but know that something is wrong here. I'm still choking some but not like I was.

I took meprozine for pain after a root canal. I suffer from restless leg syndrome, so the effects of the medication severly affected this condition. My legs were jumping like crazy! In addition, I experienced a hallucenigenic affect which was similar to a reaction I have had from codeine. I stopped the medication immediately and took prescription ibuprofen which eased the pain from the dental procedure -- with no side effect. Will never take this again!

I was only on Nuvaring for a month In the first week I started getting sunburn looking hives all over my body. I thought it was the new detergent. So I swiched back. I stuck it out for a month and the hives came and went. It also made me severly depressed and I would blow up over anything. I've been off it for a month no more hives and I don't feel depressed.

I took it for a while 2 years ago because I was depressed from using drugs. I was anxious and severly depressed. I would get hot sensations all over my head and my ears would turn bright red and have a burning sensation I also couldn't get an erection and my penis felt tinngly. But the first night I starte the trazodone I was able to fall asleep and I had an erection for about 20min. that kinda scared me. I was on I for a few months and I think it worked very well. Side effects included sleepiness, dizziness(not that bad just when I would walk down a flight of staris), very tired or druged feeling in the morning(goes away after an hour or so). Over all I thought that I would never be the same but I think the Traz. had really helped. Now that I'm off I pretty much feel like the same old me except for the drug promblem. I don't think I had any bad sideffects coming off except for a little bit of dizziness.

Unfortunately, I had a severe side effect on Yasmin. I was on it for three straight months, pretty happy with the result. Lighter, shorter flow. Weak cramps and headaches were easily dealt with. However, I noticed an occaisional shortness of breath, and my heart would seem to skip a beat. Figured it was normal. It got worse, a whole lot worse. Turns out that I have severly elevated potassium levels in my blood, and I was well on my way to having heart problems.

I have NO history of heart problems in my family, and I am ONLY 21. Talk about being turned off of BCPs for Life. I encourage everyone to get off it.

Hello,

I am a 24 yr old healthy male. I took a levaquin for an infection from a spider bite. I took the 750mg pill at 11pm and about 2:23am I woke up w/a racing hearth beat and felt like I was going to dye. Me heart felt like it was going to fly out of my chest. I was really frantic and went outside to get fresh air. I had to wake up parents and tell them what was going on. After the severe panic attack my heart was still pounding. I was terrified and didn't know what I should do. My blood pressure severly dropped and I got the chills. I was dizzy and couldn't even walk straight. I felt like throwing up and couldn't sleep. I was restlest throughout the night and had major anxiety. This is the worst antibiotic ever. I am stopping my dosage and calling my Dr. to change my medication. Do not take this medication! This has some serious side affects. www.medlineplus.com is the best place to read about side affects of all the drugs in the world.

Today I feel a little bit better but still am a bit anxious.
If you need another antibiotic I would try Amox-Clov 875mg.
I was taking Amox and never went through any of this shit that I had to go through with Levaquin

Hello Guest (msg 31031)

I went throught the exact same thing your daughter is going through and am still suffering (5 months so far). It always seems to be cyclic getting better than worse...

Is your daughter more estrogen based (softer features) or more testosterone based (masculine, etc). It seems that girls who are mroe testosterone based have the worst times getting off of Yasmin.

I don't know what the best advice to give you because if I say to wait it out, the lenght of time to get better might severly affect her mind and cause other problems.... You might want to discuss with a gynocologist to put her back on a pill that is opposite of Yasmin... more progesterone based.. then as she improves I feel that she might have a much easier time to get off this type of pill rather than Yasmin.

For me, I am trying a low dose of Prozac (10mg) to help with my severe digestion problems. I absolutely refused ssri's before thinking that time will heal everything but now at a point where I need to try something and I know that ssri's will not affect the hormone balance as much as bcp's.

Good luck and I will let everybody know how Prozac works on me.

I recently missed 2 doses of my Effexor and became severly dizzy, irritable, very sick to my stomach and extreamly tired. It was by far the absolute worst I have EVER felt missing a drug of any kind. I switched to Effexor about a year ago from Prozac. I NEVER EVER felt this terrible if I missed a few doses of Prozac. Why are the side effects of missing a dose sooooo severe?

I'm a 55 year old male who was prescribed Omnicef for a twice yearly sinus infection. I almost died using this drug. Within 5 dosages, I not only went into a whole body infection, but developed Vasculitus (huge purple, sores and eruptions) all over my legs, elbows, scalp, etc. I developed arthitis so severly that I was forced to walk with a cane for weeks. Lastly, I now have diabetes. In short, I almost, died.

Be careful of this drug!!!

I had a total thyroidectomy last year...long story short, after about 4 months my surgeon said the scar was turning into a keloid ( I now wish I would have just left it alone) So he recommended kenalog injections. I had 3 total over a 3 month period. After a few months the scar had severly indented & it looks horrible...when I swallow it looks like my throat is mangled inside. I hate it & I don't think there is anything I can do about it. I wish I would have been advised about the possible side effects!!! I can 't stand that people stare at my neck when I talk to them...it's very depressing. Not to be so vain, but I'm a young woman!!!

I through out my second very exp. bottle so I would never be tempted to take this horrific drug again. I feel sorry for the little ones put on this medication. I should have been warned and I am 125 lb. woman - not a 25 lb. child

I, too, have suffered side effects from Prednisone. Being severly asthmatic, have been on "bursts"...which consists of taking beginning dosage of 60 milligrams a day for three days, then tapering off.

Have also had massive doses of this blankety blank drug while hospitalized for asthma.

Before the onset of adult asthma, I weighed 105 lbs. Now I weigh 200 and have that "pregnant" look. I have warned all I know not to pay attention to me while I am on the drug...I become argumentative and overly assertive and thank god, I have not become physically agressive.

My feet and ankles swell to twice their normal size as does my fingers, face, etc.

Appetite is completely out of control...eat, but never fell full while under its' influence.

During taper-off times, I have absoulutely no energy for days...even walking to the bathroom is a chore...weak and exhausted.

I now use an steroid inhaler. Supposedly, this does not enter your system, but I question that....how can it not enter your tissues and your bloodstream, if it is entering your lungs? And the same side effects are there, though not as severe, and not as easily apparent. I have gained another 10 lbs, and find I am depressed because of more weight gain and breathing is more difficult because of the extra weight.

I suppose I should be thankful it has saved my life, but the quality of my life due to this drug has been severly affected.

Can you tell I hate the stuff?

We can send a man to the moon, but science can't or won't (for whatever reason) find an effective alternative drug...sigh...
