Hi,

I have hot flushes (feels like my body temp is out of control, with profuse sweating).
Morning aches and stiffness in joints).
I used to have sexual dysfunction before I started testosterone decanoate injection.)
I also used to have horrible fatigue and apathy.
I still have depression.
Since methadone has a negative effect on the various endocrinal mechanisms in the hypothalamus and pituitary, it makes sense that it would interfere with body temperature homeostasis.
I am on 100mg a day.
APC.

On Tegretol for bipolar. My wife feels my BP is improved. I only note improved in my manic side. Depressive side still unpleasant and dangerous. When started and when dosing changed, I had grogginess, with abated after a few few. Am on many meds, Haldol and clonazepam (for Tourette's) and lithium and now Tegretol (for bipolar), and feel this combination of meds has resulting in debilitating sexual dysfunction. Do not believe E.D. caused by any one med, but by the combination. Do not know what to do about this as I need this meds. Ain't life fun?

Geodon - Weight Loss, Mania Anyone?
________________________________________
I've been on Geodon for 5 wx & have lost 15 #'s. I usually weigh 130, now 115. looking anorexic, but my depression is a lot better now, I'm happy, first time in ovr a yr. nothing else could break the barrier except the Geodon, but it makes me manic, on top of already being manic…can't sleep. as I was about to crash & burn (thu), before I went running to the ER, i found my stash of 4 mg Risperdal that I just weened myself off of 3 mos ago, due to the long term side effects I was having (td, slurring, twitching, sexual dysfunction...). it took the edge off, til I can talk to the pdoc on tue.

like many of you, i’ve tried everything. i’m at my wit’s end. This bizarre combo seems to work for me. It puts a muzzle on the mania, allowing me a more hypomanic state where I can function & still feel really happy. although I’m going to try 40 vs 60 mg geodon. & try going down to 2 mg risperdal or try another a/p. adding the risperdal allowed me to sleep, along w/the lorazepam. but, I prefer not to be on risperdal

So, as of now…i'm on 60 mg geodon, 675 mg lithium, 4 mg risperdal & 1 mg lorazepam X 2/day.

has anyone else had this experience? Especially w/the mania & weight loss?

Hi I'm Link! I'm only taking 40mgs of Geodon after taking 120mgs for 6 years,I also take 1200 mgs of lithium,600mgs of Depakote and 2mg of Klonopin for sleep. My only side effects that stand out to me are very bad dry mouth and sexual dysfunction which is mostly caused by the Geodon since I did not have these problems since before I started on it,but my doctor sees a mark improvement in me and feels confident that we can go off the Geodon soon.Hopefully the ED will go away since I am a married man. This is my biggest concern because I know the dry mouth will certainly lessen even though I do take a lot of lithium, but my doctor says he only went up on that to go down on the Depakote so I may switch from Depakote to Lamictal because the Depakote gives me harsh tremors in my extremities and then I will go down on the lithium on the amount I was on before.

Hi all,
I stopped taking the lisinopril as my heart felt strange all the time. I also noticed sexual dysfunction. Has anyone else had that side effect?

My fiance' has been on Lipitor for the past 2 years. Over the past 6 months, he has experienced extreme back, muscle, joint and wrist/hand muscle pains. He also has a very mild patchy rash around his mid-section (comes and goes). His hair has dramatically thinned over the course of his treatments and he has very little energy. Now, he is now experiencing sexual dysfunction. This is very concerning to both of us. Did I mention he's only 35 and clearly got the raw end of the gene pool? What is an alternative?

Impotence, etc:

I have been on Geodon for about 8 months to treat my schizophrenia. It has given me sexual dysfunction: decreased libido, impotence, decreased sensation and excitement, and premature ejaculation. I did not have these problems before I started antipsychotic medicine. I had my testosterone and prolactin levels checked and they are normal, so it is most likely the medicine. I am rather angry that I wasn't warned that this could happen from my medicines.

Other side effects I have experienced are dizziness and teeth clenching. The dizziness went away after my dose was increased to 120 mg. The teeth clenching went away after a few months. Geodon also seems to have affected my sleep. I would sleep about 12 hours a night. However, the long sleeping has decreased over the months to about 9 hours of sleep per night.

Despite these side effects, the Geodon has successfully treated my hallucinating and delusions. I occasionally experience anhedonia and it isn't clear yet whether or not the Geodon treats this. It certainly doesn't treat it on a lower dose. I hope this information is helpful to other people.

Wow. I don't remember when my doc first gave me Yasmin, and I have no records since he's always given me samples. Hopefully it's in my charts. I've taken it on and off over the last year or so. Last October/November I had horrible anxiety/insomnia - never had anxiety before in my life. Then in April I started with IBS. I also get mild migraines (like right now). I never thought it would be my birth control until i noticed a precipitous drop in my libido and vaginal moisture - it's been low for months but lately I can't even "have relations" with my SO because I can't get lubricated at ALL. He thinks it's his fault. I finally started looking into Yasmin as the reason for my sexual dysfunction (I'm only 27 btw), but never expected the anxiety and IBS to enter the picture.

Jeez. And of course I just took the first pill for this month. If I stop taking it now, even after just one pill, I'll just get my period again, won't I?

My husband is on celxa and since then, he sweats alot more, needs a nap almost everyday, is extremely nauseous, and has a bit of sexual dysfunction. His libido is fine, but there is some eractile dysfunction. His mood is a lot better, but I'm worried about the side effects.

I am 42 and have been taking Toprol XL for 8 months now for control of hypertension. Started at 50 mg, went up to 100 mg. Side effects have been almost constant cold hands and feet (especially at 100 mg); occasional fatigue; difficulty exercising within 3 or 4 hours after taking it (heavy, tired feeling when running); sometimes very low heart resting rate (ll see how irritable I get in the transition.

Atenolol effects everyone "slightly" differently I imagine but it is relatively side-effect free and, with the lower dosages, there are almost none. Definitely no depression, tiredness or sexual dysfunction. No heart racing. My only problems with it is that it dropped my bp too low. So the recommended dosage of 50mg to 100mg is way to much for me. I'm on 24mg now and it drops my bp from about 150+/90+ to 117/80 (ball park figures, of course). Before the pacemaker, it was taking my heart rate into the low 50's and even 40's during the night. So it's a very strong drug, good for lowering bp, with none of the Lisinopril nonsense. I'm feeling much more optimistic about life after just a few days of cutting my dosage in half. I've gone from 5mg to 2.5mg a day; even brought some new clothes today and suddenly don't feel like killing myself. Am soooo glad I found this site!!!!

I have a sexual dysfunction from neurontin (I think). I started taking the drug 3 years ago for anxiety and it worked for the most part however, I just was married. I am unable to enjoy sex and this all began when I started the med. I am 33 and don't think my sex drive is supposed to diminish now. I have been lowering the dosage but I am still having the same problem. Anyone else have the same?
