I began using the loestrin 24 almost 5 months ago. I was having severe cramping and heavy bleeding, which prompted my doctor to prescribe this pill. It was my first time in more than 20 years trying a bc pill and in the past I only used the pill about 2 months, because it caused severe bleeding then. When I began Loestrin 24 fe, I was not sexually active, and only began a sexual relationship within the last 2 months. My boyfriend, uses a condom in addition to the bc I use. Recently, we talked about trying to conceive. He stopped using a condom close to a month ago. I had noticed nausea from time to time, but didn't really think about side effects of the pill. The other day, after getting nauseated again, it occurred to me I might be pregnant. I have spent the last 2 days trying to figure out if that might be the case. I was loving the Loestrin, my last couple of months have been virtually pain free. However, after reading the signs of pregnancy and side effects of Loestrin, I am noticing they are very similar. I have been experiencing headaches for about 2 weeks now, non stop, nausea, abdominal cramping (although nothing compared to my menstrual cramps), fatigue, depression, increased appetite and recently frequent peeing. The only side I haven't experienced that many women above describe is breast tenderness. The tenderness, however, was something I'd experience before BC. I'm getting off because I decided to conceive, but I was very disappointed with the false signs of pregnancy. I don't think I'd like to go through that on a regular basis.

I've been on YAZ for two months now. It's terrible. I'm in my first sexual relationship and it led me to believe I was pregnant for a few days. My period was late, I woke up sick to my stomach, had munchies from hell, and was about as moody as my mother when she tries to quit smoking. I've gained 3 pounds (after being ecstatic for losing 20), had severe pain in my lower abdomen, a vaginal infection, a tightening in my vagina that causes a large amount of pain, extreme breast tenderness, reoccurring headaches, and pains in my chest. I'm scheduled for a pre-op. physical tomorrow. I have a feeling I am going to speak with my physician about switching my birth control. if I get any moodier, I think I may end up running my boyfriend over with my car. :D

Hi I am 21 years old and have been on the Nuvaring for about a year now. I have experienced many of the symptoms you have all spoken about. Hair loss, decreased sex drive( which scares me because i am so young and i am in a serious relationship in which my boyfriend has a high sex drive ( he 22) and he noticed my sex drive dwindling and wanted to know what changed. It has been a huge problem in our relationship.) I have not experienced weight gain that i have noticed. But i experience extreme pain/burning during and after sex. One of the side effects of the nuvaring is vaginitis which has pain n burning as its side effects. I have been to several doctors for the pain as it is disrupting my sex life and making sex unbearable at times. However they all dismissed the nuvaring as the cause and suggested that it may just be a mindset and i need to get into sex more. Which i think is bull im 21 and very much in love with my boyfriend and have a healthy sexual relationship so having a negative mental state word that seems ludacris to me. I have had std sti blood tests and been tested for yeast and blatter infections. Nothing seems to be wrong with me but i know i have never experienced this before and the nuvaring has been a constant through the pain. If anyone has experienced anything like this please let me know.

I have been on Yaz a little over a year. Around the same time I started taking Yaz, I began dating this amazing guy, who I was incredibly attracted to. But I had no sex drive. We are still dating and my lack of wanting a sexual relationship is driving a wedge in our relationship. I'm so glad I found this and no that I am not alone. Another symptom I noticed was that I was always so tired. I thought it was because I wasn't exercising enough, but even now (after exercising 4-5 days a week), I am still tired. I made an appointment today with my gyno to talk to her about it. I am done taking Yaz!

well i have no sexual desire and it is really hard for me to climax which sucks since im only 19 and i have been with my boyfriend for 4 yrs. he is so good to me and is really understanding. i am going to my doctor tomorrow to try something different ... i am only slightly depressed so this is completely not worth it .. it is really taking a toll on me and our sexual relationship. also i feel that with lamictal i am at such a constant experiencing euphoria is almost impossible. i just cant do it anymore ... it is more depressing then how i actually felt depressive wise before i took this medication. and let me tell u i have been on this for a while and it seems that the lack of desire seems to get worse everyday

Hi Guys

I am taking Yasmin since May 2006. I have been suffering from chronic daily headaches since March 2006 and wondered if Yasmin could be a factor in this? For my headaches I have tried so many different things and not been successful and hadn't looked at the possibility that Yasmin could be a problem until I started to google it. What do you guys think? Could Yasmin be adding to my problem of chronic daily headaches? Cos I have the headaches all the time.

Any responses would be greatly appreciated!

Regards
Warda

Wow, I am so surprised to discover that Lisinopril is the culprit diminishing my sex drive. I have been going through therapy (after a messy divorce) the past 17 months and at the same time my doctor has been increasing my dosage of Lisinopril from 5 mg/day to 80 mg/day to combat my HBP. Just recently I underwent a vasectomy and have began to have a sexual relationship with a lady friend and I have been having trouble with my sex drive, it is almost non-existent after one sexual cycle. Suffice it to say that I have been very frustrated and have been wondering if the curtailment was due to my BP med or the vasectomy, now I see that once again I am part of the 1% that has this lack of sex drive issue. I will be scheduling a doctor's appointment this morning.

Thanks to all for being open!
