I was taking lisinopril and as far as my blood pressure goes, it worked great. However, after taking this drug (and Diovan and Benicar as well,) over time I developed Gastritis and GERD. I've switched to Micardis recently. Day 5 today and I don't get the sharp stomach pains I would get 20 or so minutes after dosing Lisinopril. IMO blood pressure is important to control. There's 100's of these type of drugs out there. I suggest to keep on trying different ones until you find one that works for you. This is number 5 for me (I tried Tekturna, which did not give me the digestion side effects, but was not effective for my bp.) I went with Micardis next because it's formulated differently than the Diovans and Cozaars and Lisinoprils, and so far so good. Wish me luck.

I took yaz for maybe two weeks. after one week my breast blew up a cup size. they were so swollen! then i started noticing i was gaining weight but my diet hadn't changed. i started to swell all over within the next week. but what made me quit taking this pill was that i started getting these sharp intense pain in my upper abdominal region. it would come and gnaw at me for like 2-5 seconds then it would just go away. there was also like this temperature sensation anytime i would eat or drink anything. i've been off of it now for 5 days! i still have not got my period, my breast are still swollen, and my stomach pains are still there. i know im not pregnant, because i haven't had any sex! when is this going to get out of system or has it done something to me? i would imagine if you skip your period in one day and you can get pregnant in that one day... the pill should be out of your system! anyway- anyone else have this same situation?

I used nuvaring about 2 years ago but stopped because i wasn't intimate with anyone and i wanted birth control to clear up my skin which the nuvaring did not do. Now I'm married and I was using yaz bc pills but I would forget to take them so when I went in for a pap smear I asked the doctor to put me back on the nuvaring. I noticed the brown discharge which i know is common but doesn't seem healthy to me. Lately i have also gotten sharp stomach pains and a foul smell and itching. the odor and itching made me think i had a yeast infection because i remember going to the doctor frequently 2 years ago and being treated for yeast infections but my symptoms didn't go away until i stopped using the nuvaring. i went to the doctor yesterday and he sent off tests for everything imaginable... including stds... he also told me he would bet the nuvaring is whats causing all these problems. i should get my test results by next week and will update here. the only thing i am worried about is taking out the nuvaring yesterday b.c. my husband and i had sex about three times last week and since im not on any type of birth control now, i don't know if i might get pregnant... does anyone know the chances of pregnancy in my situation?

Oddly, I'm seeming to have the opposite experience. Omeprazole 20 mg was working great for me for two years, no acid reflux, no weird side effects. Then I ran out for a week or so and started taking Protonix 40 mg that my mother had, and I've been having upset stomach, sore throat and sharp stomach pains since. I'm stopping the Protonix and taking nothing at all until I can get some more Omeprazole, and just hoping I didn't do any permanent damage by switching back and forth between the two.

I've been taking omeprazole for years and all this time I've been getting worst from my condition, my digestive system shots down by 3pm and I don't feel better until I wake up the next day. Headaches, fatigue, joint pain, my heart feeling as if it were in my throat when I go to bed, depression, nausea, very sensitive to smells, excessive gas so bad that it makes my lower back ache, feeling like I need to use the restroom all day long but not being able to use it until my normal time in the morning and having no sex drive at all, these symptoms are part of my everyday life. 5 days ago I stop taking it but, I'm beside myself the heartburn and the reflux is worst than when I started to take it. I don't think there's a cure.

When my wife takes an OTC medication containing guaifenesin, she experiences sharp stomach pains that almost totally incapacitate her for a number of minutes. She also experiences dizziness and an intense desire to "either throw up or poop," in her words. We've known for a while that Mucinex has this effect on her. It wasn't until today, when she took some Robitussin CF and experienced the same side effects, that we looked up the name of the active ingredient. Now we know that she needs to avoid guaifenesin.

My son is 9, has been on Singulair for 3 years. He has been complaining of sharp stomach pains for the past few months. He doubles over when this happens. It lasts about 30 minutes each episode. At night when he is trying to fall asleep, he complains about a feeling he has that something just isn't right and something is "missing." He has frequent nightmares. Otherwise, it has not affected his school work or concentration.

Wow - I just found this site and am relieved to know that I haven't been imagining all these symptoms. I started on Crestor because my doctor had samples, then when those ran out I started on generic Zocor. The day after starting the Crestor I felt like I'd been hit by a truck by attributed it to overdoing it at the gym. I have horrible pains in my hip joints and my knees and have recently been experiencing unexplained fatigue and sharp stomach pains. Does anyone know if drinking alcohol will increase these side effects? I've been on the Zocor now for a few weeks, and the Crestor I started mid-December.

I started Yasmin about two years ago. My doctor put me on it to regulate my period. After I started taking Yasmin I started to get sharp stomach pains in my lower right side, loss of appetite, and nausea. I went back to my OB/GYN and he told me that it might be my appendix. I went to another doctor and he told me that it was not my appendix but I needed to go though some tests. I have been through upper and lower GI, colonoscopy, endoscopy, and many catscans. Now I am back to my OB/GYN and tonight I go for a sonogram to see if I need a histerectomy(please excuse my spelling). Something told me to check the side effects of Yasmin first and I'm glad I did.

34 year old woman with UTI. I was placed on Macrobid and this is my hird day taking it. I was feeling sooo bad that i started doing searches and found this site and Im happy I did I thought I was crazy. extreme nausea (feels like morning sickness) the thought of any food makes me ill, headaches, sharp stomach pains, extreme fatigue, I generally feel like I have a terrible flu without a fever. I have never had symptoms like this before while taking an antibiotic. I feel so drained that I've been taking 3-4 hour naps during the day. Will call doctor to change prescription. I would rather suffer with the UTI than this!!!
