I am just about to burst in tears from reading all this information. Our daughter is 4 years old. She is been in Singulair (for her Allergies) since she was almost 10 months. It been quite a rollercoaster for us. We have been told she is ADHD (although can't be diagnose until 6), she has almost all the characteristics. hyperactive, mood swings vary between days, now leg pains, nightmares, etc. Two years ago our allergist took her off Singulair but our pediatrician didn't agree, so we went back.
It has been very painful because our daughter is such a bright girl; we don't want her to suffer, not to be accepted because she is acting like this. From reading all this information my husband and I decided to take her off Singualir. Hopefully we see some changes that can give us a sense of relief. Any words of wisdom?

I have just read all of your comments on the Yasmin birth control pill and would like to state a few of mine. I have been on Yasmin for about 2 1/2 years, the first side affect that I experienced is my heart rate felt out of control at times during the first 3 months or so that I started taking it that went away thank god! I also lost about 5 pounds instintly, can't complain there. The only side affect that I am a little conserned about is my horrible mood swings and depression about 4 days before I start my period. I will take a small problem amd make it into a huge deal and I feel like crying my eyes out. Unfortunatly the one that I take this out on is my husband poor guy! Do any of you girls feel your mood swings and depression only during certain times of the month? I am honestly starting to wonder if I should change.

I can't thank you enough "Trailblazen"! I spoke to my Doctor today and she said she doesn't think that there would be side effects after 3 weeks. (Of course she is the one who put me on pred. only to find out a week later that she misread the mri - and I never needed to be on them) I never had these problems before the pills so I will calm down for a while. My heart goes out to you and all the others who have been on pred. for a long time. I can't even imagine how you did it and I hear the longer you are on them, the longer the side effects last after getting off. Have you thought of accupunture? I started going about a month ago and they have done many things to help that the doctors didn't do. I went this morning and they took away 80% of my ache in my legs in one visit. Best wishes to you - and you are in my prayers!

Well I just recently went off YASMIN more because I was not seeing the weight loss I normally would with my regimented workouts. I have been on it for a year and finally decided I needed to get my body and hormones back to normal. I lost 20 lbs about 16 months on the same workout I have now been doing for 6 months and have seen NO change in my body. The only difference then was that I wasn't on the pill. While on the pill and not working out I had gained most of that weight back and that's why I started working out 6 months ago. I never really have had the big anxiety attacts that most people on this site have talked about. And hopefully I don't!! My sister is a doc and she is the one who recommeded me to Yasmin. After coming across this site I'm definately going to have her read some of the postings.

If anyone else out there has experienced the trouble with weight loss please let me know.

Also when sould we expect the side effects of stopping yasmin? 2 months?
