I'm writing for my mother. She was on 20mg of Lisinopril and her doctor insisted her violent coughs was from her asthma. Being an asthma sufferer her whole life and knowing the difference, she insisted it was not. He told her that this drug does not cause violent coughing as she described (but later admitted otherwise). I saw her in October and then in November for Thanksgiving and it looked as though she aged ten years! She was coughing badly, throwing up from coughing so violently and was white as a ghost and was extremely tired from not getting enough rest (from coughing). Everyone in the family told her to STOP taking the medication. She stopped taking it the day after Thanksgiving. It's been about five days and she is still coughing, although it's not nearly so bad, but she's taking pain medication (Hydrocodone) and I believe this narcotic has helped to subside the coughing, plus allow her to sleep, but masked the effects of the Lisinopril. Please, anyone, that has discontinued this medication, can you tell me how long to expect this drug to be out of her body? This has been an absolute nightmare and I'm so worried about her! Please email at ******

It is Fluoride Poisoning that has caused nerve damage!!! Natural vitamins that can be found anywhere are 5-HTP to help rebuilld the seretonin levels in your nerve system and Magnesium pills or magnesium rich foods will help quicken the process of ridding your body of the fluoride. It is mostly a waiting game, but these will help!!! My 26 year old wife was down for 2 and a half weeks before she stopped listening to the doctors and starting taking these supplements and felt better within 3 days and was back to normal within 1 week of starting these two natural supplements!!!

I started taking Lisinopril for my bp about 2 1/2 months ago and even though it did lower my bp, I started having strange side-effects. It started out with drowsiness throughout the day, no matter how much sleep I got. And, waking up feeling drowsy even after 8-10 hours of sleep. Then, I started getting strange aches and pains throughout my body, like I was getting over a stomach flu. My asthma also flared up and I started having to use my inhaler for the first time in almost 15 years (usually I just need it after exercise.) The side-effects continued to get worse over the next months with increased fatigue, drowsiness, coughing, anxiety, muscle aches, poor concentration, feeling like my nerves were "shot," headache, weakness, tightness in my lungs, numbness in my hands and feet, and just plain feeling bad.
I made an appointment to see my doctor because I thought there was something seriously wrong with me. It crossed my mind that I might be feeling this way because of the Lisinopril. I stumbled across this website and after reading everyone's testimonials, I decided to stop the Lisinopril. I haven't taken it in 3 1/2 days, and I am already feeling much better. I would rather try a more holistic approach to lowering my bp then taking Lisinopril.
I hope this helps someone else out there who might be going through the same thing.

After by-pass heart surgery in 2002, my cardilogist put me on 40mg of zocor.
I was in good health with no physical limitations. I had no heart damage. The restriction of heart arteries were found due to my stress test that was performed each year as a part of my annual Physical. After surgery I was on zocor for three years, during that time I experienced a little tiredness, little weakness, a little muscle aches. some tingling in my right arm and shoulder. I went to my heart doctor Jan. 2006 and he changed me to vytorin (10mg zetia and 40mg zocor). about 6 months all of the about symptoms got worse.
By Jan. 2007, my muscles became so stiff, I could not walk, had balance problems, severe muscle aches and cramps, numbness and tingling in both arms and hands, also stifness and pain in my hands, stiffness and pain in both feet, stifness and pain in my back and weird nerve sensations over my entire body. During Jan. and Feb 2007, I was seen by my family doctor, a neurologist, and a muscle doctor. Thanks to the internet, I found info on zocor and zetia, which is the drug vytorin. Warnings described the same symptoms I am experiencing. I stopped vytorin, I am not taking any statins drugs now. My doctor order a blood test to check for muscle damage, It indicated severe damage, a Creatine level of 770. This level should not be over 200. After being off the drugs for 30 days the creatine level dropped to 645. My condition has improved by 25%. I am walking a little better, but I still having muscle problems, there is improvement. I think there will be a very long recovery. There seems to be some evidence that these Statins affect people of age much more than the young. I am 70 years old. PLEASE PEOPLE, IF YOU ARE TAKING STATINS DRUGS, STOPPED NOW! SLOVE YOUR CHOLESTROL PROBLEMS BY OTHER MEANS. Since I stopped my cholestrol has gone from 157 to 280, but I am not going back taking these drugs. I am trying the natural way now. I have read post after post on many web-sites of people with the same symptoms that were using these drugs. The drug companies and the FDA are responsible for the the degradation of people's health taking these statin drugs.

All you are Hypochondriacs. If one person says this medicine is causing this, then of course; you all have the same problem "some how." Isn't this weird? It is called the "placebo effect." Normally all the people involved in the testing are given "Lisinopril" (or some other drug), then the placebo group is given a vitamin supplement, the group receving the vitamin supplement is being told they are receving "Lisinopril." Mysteriously?, the "placebo group" is all feeling better and their symptoms are gone. This is due to the fact that all these people in the "placebo group" have interacted with eachother and have told eachother "I feel better" than of course everybody feels better. So WEIRD!! So, my point is this forum is all your peoples "placebo group." If you guys never heard of these side effects from this forum you would have never experinced them. Hypochondriacs all of you are. This is a very good medicine that is helping all of you make up for your peoples lack of self-disipline to control your diet or exercise enough to lower your blood pressure naturally. So be thankful. Lets not complain about false side effects because John has them. I wonder what the side-effects of that cheese burger are that caused high blood pressure. It is funny, I don't see a forum for that. So deal with your so called "side-effects" that are associsted with "Lisinopril" or go on a diet people. Get over it!!

I went to the doctor on 3/12/07 (Monday) for a cold. I had laryngitis for several days. I started taking Levaquin 750 mg. on Monday. By Wednesday, I had severe pain in my joints in muscles especially my legs. It was so severe I was in tears and ready to go to the hospital. On Thursday I called the doctor and he told me to stop taking it and prescribed a new antibiotic. On Friday my pain started to subside somewhat, but it was still uncomfortable. BY the time I went to the doctor on Friday afternoon I had red blotches all over my arms and face. I wish I had done more research on this drug before taking it! I had to cancel a hair appoitnment that week and my hairdresser said she had the same exact symptoms and they only stopped when she stopped the medication.

My Mom is 57 years old was given Omnicef in November of 2006. She stopped taking it after she began bleeding and diareha within 4 days of taking this medication. Since then she has been in and out of the hosipital and even trips in an Ambulance from her legs swelling. She has had one doctor tell her that they believe it to be caused from the Omnicef. Now they have her on Pretizone because they think that it started Rhumetoid Arthiritis. She is on three other medications for this and she still is in pain when she walks. It takes her over an hour to get out of bed in the morning and for the swelling in the ankles and legs to go down after she takes the medication. The doctors seem to be doing a lot of guess work right now. I would like to find her a new doctor at the Cleveland Clinic but since the doctor's are unsure of what is wrong with her, I have no idead what type of specialist I need to contact to get her an appointment.

I was prescribed Levaquin 500mg for a sinus infection and it has caused me to have extreme nausea and gastric distress. I felt better before I took the drug and have a call in to my doctor for a different antibiotic. A friend of mine took this drug and had bad joint pain that stopped when she stopped the Levaquin. A drug with so many different side effects shouldn't be prescribed to anyone. I never usually have any bad reactions to medication. I felt better before I took the Levaquin - I feel lousy now!

i had constant headaches whilst on yasmin,my friend who suffers from migrains found that they become much worse and she stopped taking it. i think it can be quite a common side effect with a lot of birth control pills and synthetic hormones, another friend of mine has just started HRT and is suffering badly with headaches.

I am writing about my poor Mom who started taking this Fosamax in April of this year and for the last 4 months she has had constant pain in BOTH her upper arms. BUT she stopped taking this medication about 3 weeks and the pain is still there but can sleep better. She had hardly NO sleep for 3 of those months. I would like to know if there is anyone that has had this kind of pain and what help you might of gotten to rid of this pain. I want to help my mom but feel SO helpless. Damn drug if it is NOT good take it off the market.
Hope to hear from someone.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced any "shocking" sensations? My grandmother recently began having strange symptoms which she thinks may be caused by advair. She says that she thought she might be losing her mind because when she layed down at night, it felt like her bed was moving. Come to find out, it was her moving and not the bed; she was experiencing involuntary jerking movements and felt like she was receiving small shock sensations throughout her body. She says that the symptoms have gotten better since she stopped the Advair. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Guest 20168--Guest 20077 here...thanks so much for your response. I am really overwhelmed at all this though... it's crazy how many women are listing their problems with Yasmin. Don't you think there should be something done with it? I do, just don't know how. I'd like to see how many women there are that do not have problems taking the pill. I just found out that quite a few of my friends take the same kind, and one didn't have any side effects...the other didn't have any problems when taking it, but said that after she stopped with the pills, she did feel better--more energized, motivated, more like herself. I am utterly frustrated at everything...and not just because the pills are making me feel that way. You read about the situation I had with the doctor...I have been seeing a counselor/phsycologist about the lack of sleep issue, and she doesn't seem to think it's Depression, as she says that people who are depressed think they are... I'd say I'm depressed, but that's not more than feeling down every day. She says she hopes to find the truth behind my problems... and I said I hope that depression isn't the truth and that it's just something simple, like Yasmin. All this just because I can't sleep. Before taking Yasmin, actually, as far as I could remember, I had a hard time with sleeping. Even as a little kid...but with this birth control, something with many great benefits, I've become exhausted, angry, frustrated, tense, anxious, stressed, overwhelmed, etc. All that. As the Doc has said, "You're depressed. Come back in 3 weeks." Yea, and about those antidepressants...I don't mind taking pills...I'd rather take an antidepressant to feel better than be taking 7 or 8 different sleeping pills in one night just to find sleep. No one seems to understand, or seems willing to understand, besides women who post on websites. Thank Heaven for you ladies and thank heaven for caring families. I wish I could show them Me...who I really am. I wish I could see who I am and feel just like me.

And again you're not alone..... I had and sometimes still have exactly the same feelings as you describe. Even AFTER getting off Yasmin (been off for 10 months now). Those feelings always got worse again around the time my period should start or around ovaluation. Perhaps you can connect your symptoms to those days, too?!?!

After all it seems, that Yasmin enormously interacts your brain. A cousin of mine had such weird feelings after being on Yasmin only for about 3 months. She just had the feeling that "something with her head was not ok" and therefore she stopped taking that poison immediately.

I wish I had discovered as early as she, what this poison was doing to my body and my brain...

So your problems seem to be pretty "normal" (if you can say so......) after Yasmin symptoms. Today I have those symptoms only about every few weeks in a very slight way (always around the above mentioned times), but not at all as heavy as during Yasmin or even 6 months after Yasmin (as you are now)...

A few months ago I had many days a month when I felt like I was about to go totally mad and mentally ill... Everything looked strange to me, I felt dizzy and foggy in my head. Than a few days further everything had gone again and I felt pretty normal. And believe me, all those symptoms will get lighter, too!! You just have to think about that during the hard times. Always keep in mind, that "nothing will stay as it is now and everything will get better again". That was the only comfort through those days, when I thought I'd go completely mad...

I wish you the strenght that you need, going through this "after Yasmin show", but believe me: It's worth it!!!

All the best and god's bless to all of you again!!

Silke

PS: To the ladies giving me some pep talk with the last few postings: Thank you!! It's so good to hear, that you're not alone with all this sh... And I will think about your words, that everything will be fine again in 2006!! Best wishes to you, too!!

My fifteen-year-old daughter was taking Doxycycline 100MG capsules twice a day for about 6-7 months for moderate acne when she started to have a painful constant burning sensation in her upper stomach area. She stopped taking Doxycycline and within a couple of days, the pain was completely gone. Three months later she began to take it again, within four short days the same symptom returned. Once again, she stopped taking the capsules and the pain was gone in only one day. We are absolutely certain that Doxycycline was irritating her stomach and is no way a coincidence.

My daughter took it for about 3 weeks. Dr. started her on 300mg. Suddenly she broke out with a severe case of hives all over. She went to ER twice, once they gave her an IV, the second trip they gave her a shot of Epinephrin. Even after that she noticed new hives for a couple of days. She missed 2 days of work. She stopped taking the Wellbutrin after I read that it could cause hives. Now, even after stopping it, she is having terrible muscle aches in her hands and arms. This morning she could lift her 20month old baby in and out of his carseat. A nurse she talked to recently said she couldn't believe that ER didn't tell her to stop taking the medicine and that she had heard horror stories about it.

My 7 yr old daughter has been taking singulair for the last 2 1/2 yrs for mild asthma. At the end of the summer she stopped taking zyrtec and we noticed that she started having hives on her stomach, arms and neck which we attributed to allergies. A month later she started having episodes in which she would "zone out", and her eyes would half closes and twitter. She has also just recently told her dad that she sometimes her voices in her head. We think this is because of the singulair. We are stopping the medication today. After reading all of the side effects that are posted here, the medication is worse for her.

My 3 year old and my 19 month old are on Omnicef for strep throat. Both have been cranky since starting the antibiotic. My 3 year old son is who is usually very happy and easy going is a monster. Throwing things, slamming doors, disagreeing with everything. My 19 month old daughter has been having a lot of trouble sleeping and has also been very cranky. They took their last dose this morning and right before lunch my 19 month old broke out in a rash, starting on her legs (looks like tiny pimples). When she woke up from her afternoon nap, she seemed to be constipated. She was straining and contoring her body like she had cramps. She was crying and straining so much I though she was going to vomit. We put her in the tub to see if a warm bath would help with the cramps. She rolled around in the tub in pain (crying the whole time). When we took her out, she didn't want to be touch. She didn't want anything to touch her skin (not even a towel). While we were on the phone with the nurse line trying to decide if we should take her to the emergency room, she stopped crying and decided she wanted a fruit cup. This is some bad stuff. Avoid it.

Dear Readers,

I am comfronted with a crazy situation here.

Around half a year ago, my Girlfriend started taking Yasmin (it was her first P-Pill). Ever since, she has experienced back pains, toe pains, headaches, nausea, weight loss, breast size increase and itching vagina.

I haven't howver noticed any particular mood swings untill she stopped 3 weeks ago. Since then, she's been depressed and sad and after a 5 day business trip she decided to brake up with me out of the blue. She is extremely emotional and she can't find a true cause for her detress even though she openly says that she loves me.

I am practically sure that the emotinal changes have take either
a) Just before she stopped the pill and the effects haven't worn out
b) After she quit taking the pill

These aren't rare symptoms (according to other user reports) so please, if you can, stop taking the pill and warn your partner about possible mood changes, most of all, warn yourself.

Best regards,

A. Karpov

My daughter is 13 years old. In October 2003 she had her right middle lobe of her lung removed. She has chronic asthma and other respiratory problems. She has also has 2 sinus surgeries and 5 sets of ear tubes. After her lobectomy she was on several different antibiotics and we had a terrible time clearing her lungs. Finally in December her Drs. put her on Levaquin. She took her levaquin at night due to some of the side effects listed. I didn't want her in school if there had been a problem. It was like a miracle drug for her. For the first time in months I did not hear her say she was not feeling well, no low grade temps and most important of all...she stopped coughing up phlegm. The Drs now have her on another antibiotic...its working well but some of her problems have slowly returned. She is much wheezier, she has started to cough again and she says she doesn't feel as well now as she did on Levaquin. As a matter of fact she has a Dr. appointment in a week and I am going to ask about using Levaquin again.
