Yes, I have been taking Vytorin 10/40 for about 10 months, and it did reduce my cholesterol and triglycerides to 'normal', however, I slowly developed (initially) some 3 months back, problems in my left solder, diagnosed eventually as 'rotator cuff' ligament damage, however, it came on slowly and progressively worsened. I had not done anything strenuous to develop such a condition. It became so bad that I was basically redd to using my right arm. On top of this, the muscles in my lower arms became sore and felt strained even lifting a glass of water was painful. My Doctor was informed of increasing on-going muscle problems, did an emzine muscle test, which turned out to be 'clear'. And I also lost my sexual drive gradually.
I went off taking Vytorin a week ago on my own gut feeling, and my arm muscles and left shoulder have improved. I am also hoping no permanent damage. I am moving to a much higher exercise regime to 'burn' cholesterol and reduce triglycerides, and in the mean time look for 'natural' solutions as well.
I am not impressed with the medical responses I got, along with miss-diagnosed muscle / tendon supposed 'rotator cuff' serious problem that developed in my left shoulder, which I suspect may never be the same functionally. I recommend looking at other alternatives and natural remedies, this is my course of action. MM

I am a 60 year old male with lung cancer but in other wise good shape. I was given Propoxy 100s for extream pain in my left sholder and muscles in lower right back. I took the pills every 4 hours as directed from 8am on the first day and by evening had some mild light headed feeling and very slight bluring of vision. On the second day I started at 8am with no problem and took another pill at 12 noon and apx. one half hour later went to mow the lawn. While mowing on a cool day I started to sweat profusely, very dry mouth and became mildly nausious with some light headedness. This cleared up slowly in about 5 hours. There was no sign of blood pressure or heart problem.

I have been taking 300 mg lithium for a few months. For some reason I never even considered it to be the reason that i feel terrible and throw up a few nights a week.
As for my weight, I lost 10 lbs when I started wellbutrin last december. So when i started the lithium i may or may not have lost a few more pounds. The scale has said about 111 the whole time, but everyone keeps telling me more and more how great I look as time goes by. Probably the lithium is causing me to lose water weight. Though I now carry a water bottle with me at all times!! Actually, I started to doing that with the wellbutrin and my cottonmouth has improved since the lithium. I use to wake up in the middle of the night over a nightmare about dying of dehydration because I was so thirsty.
I guess I am very lucky with regards to side effects of drugs. There are other bummers, like I dont drink anymore, and there is definitely a STIGMA attached to lithium. Even thought I technically have not been diagnosed as bi-polar. In all of 2005 I was extremely depressed and even jumped off a second story window and shattered my sholder. Then I went bankrupt. All I ever did was think about dead all the time.
I was so happy (and shocked) when Wellbutrin allowed me to stop thinking about death. Then we added lithium to keep me from crying all the time. Well my point is
1. Wellbutrin can counter the weight gaining effect of lithium (Or at least it did for me)
2. Does anyone else get sick at night all the time? How about HICCUPS?
3. I agree with the previous posting... I dont care if my family and friends think I am crazy or if I start to gain a lot of weight when I get a little older, I never, EVER want to be that sad ever again.
Best wishes to everyone reading this. I understand your pain. If anyone ever gives you a hard time such as because "others have it hard too", or "it's all in your head" tell them that I said for them to shove off. This is our only life, no one should have to be unhappy.
I know I wrote a lot. But hopefully at least one person finds this helpful. I use to spend hours on the computer trying to find answers. (The depression was so bad I couldn't leave the house to work.) I check ******weekly if anyone has any additional questions.

I don't have any problem with Celexa. It's been great for me - I lost almost 50 pounds, my depression and especially the anxiety are way down. My problem is with the generic for Celexa, Citalopram. I tried taking it once before, a few months ago, and I started getting sore spots in my mouth, mostly on my tongue. I was in agony, and finally talked my doctor into changing the prescription back to Celexa, although she argued that generics are virtually the same as the name brand, and it would be impossible to have a reaction to the Citalopram and not the Celexa. I did go back on the Celexa, and after a couple of weeks all the mouth soreness was gone.
Recently, after a meeting with my doctor, she came to the conclusion that although the Celexa was working, for various reasons, she changed the dosage. When I got the new medication, it was the generic, but I thought this would be a good way to test whether the Citalopram really caused the mouth sores. After 3 days, my mouth hurts so bad, i can hardly eat or talk. I haven't found anyone else that has had the same experience.

I was prescribed Cipro because I had bleeding in my seman and the Urologist could not find out any reason, even after surgery. I almost immediatly could not get out of bed because my back and left sholder hurt so much. I did not relate it to Cipro until later when I was looking up something else on the internet and stumbled onto a site that listed problems with the fluoroquinolone class of anti biotics. I have spent time researching the subject and have been taking it really easy and am getting better. I still have the bleeding (almot three months now) and now will tell doctors that I am alergic to Prozak AND Cipro.

I STARTED ZOCOR 40MG ABOUT TWO YEARS AGO. DEVELOPED SHOLDER AND MUSCLE PAIN IN MY UPPER ARMS. PASSING GAS WAS ALSO A PROBLEM. I STOPPED TAKING THE DRUG FOR A FEW MONTHS, AND FELT BETTER. MY DOCTOR TOLD ME THE PAIN WAS NOT CONNECTED TO ZOCOR. I STARTED TAKING IT AGAIN AT A SMALLER DOSE 20MG BECAUSE MY "NUMBERS" WERE UP AGAIN. THE PAIN RETURNED IN MY SHOLDERS AND ARMS, AND NOW MY RIGHT LEG ALSO HAS A LOT OF PAIN. (MY LEGS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN STRONG, I COULD RUN FOR MILES, NOW IT IS HARD TO WALK WITHOUT PAIN.) ALSO I HAVE STARTED TO TO HAVE PAIN IN MY PROSTATE, SEEMS TO GET WORSE AFTER SEX. I HAVE HAD 3 EPISODES OF WHAT MY DOCTOR CALLED PROSTATITIS SINCE TAKING THIS DRUG. ANY ONE ELSE HAVING PROSTATE TROUBLE WITH ZOCOR? (LET ME KNOW AT bigbucks17@msn.com )I AM THINKING ABOUT STOPPING THIS DRUG. (I FELT JUST FINE WITH NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER (EXCEPT HIGH NUMBERS) BEFORE TAKING THIS DRUG. IT DOES BRING ALL MY NUMBERS BACK INTO RANGE, BUT AT WHAT COST??

I have experienced, avascular necrosis of both hips (resulting in total hip replacements) and avn of both solder (this time it resulted in partial shoulder replacements) Not to mention as everyone else has the thin skin, the weight gain. I have been on prednisone for 8 years - it is part of my immune suppressant cocktail that I take everyday. I have been on 4mg for approximately 5 years. It's very hard to lose the extra weight, the moon face lessens after a time but it is hard to tell because of the weight gain.
