My husband has been taking Lipitor for a year. Several weeks after he started taking it he had muscle aches and when he went for a follow-up we discussed this concern and the neurologist said that it was ok and would go away. He had a stroke several years before and had some damage and he was tired. He complained about him getting weaker and his muscles hurting, he has left shoulder and arm pain. His chest hurts on the right side and doctors told him that he has inflammation between the muscle and chest wall but it has not cleared up after many months and meds. He is so weak now and is dropping things. He has some muscle twitching. I think it is from the Lipitor because the symptoms started after he was put on this drug. Doctor says that it is very unlikely..Has anyone else had these problems while taking Lipitor???

I am a 54 year old, very active female. Had a UTI and was given 750 Levaquin. I have taken 10 days worth and began having a sore swollen ankle, followed by right knee pain, followed by shoulder and arm pain. I have never experienced muscle pain to this degree before. I am scheduled for a doctor appt in 3 days. I started trying to imagine what could be causing this. I took a shot and looked up Levaqin side effects this morning, after another night of no sleep and severe shoulder pain. Well guess what, from everything I just read I think I found the source. The problem now is how do I get my life back???? The one thing I am sure of is it's time to stop taking the poison!!!

I'm a 48 yr male. I've been on lipitor since march 2005. My total cholesterol last month was 110, LDL 56, HDL 39. I had previously been on zocor for since june of 2004. my total before starting on statins was 250 with a high LDL of 185.
For the past couple of weeks i am starting to have right shoulder and arm pain. I am wonder if this is due to Lipitor. I am going to make an appt with another doctor. The doctor I'm seeing now will not take me off the statin due to the fact high cholesterol runs in my family. I feel that I am taking a more aggressive approach to this problem by eating a low fat high fiber diet with walking exercise 4-5 times a week.

after 6 days of taking levaquin I developed severe shoulder and arm pain on both sides. Some days I can hardly use my arms. Lawyers don't want to take my case because I didn't suffer a rupture. What kind of crap is that? It's okay to have severe pain the rest of your life? My Dr. says it will go away. It's not. It's getting worse. Don't take this stuff unless you enjoy pain
