Shoulder joint symptoms and conditions

I had two Kenalog injections the 5th of Dec. '08, one into my right shoulder joint, the other into a tendon anterior to my right shoulder, - oh, and another one in a trigger point at my right shoulder blade. I have been in agony since 2-3 days after the injections. The night of the injections I had severe tachycardia, my heart rate was around 120-140 for three days. I was also flushed and so hot that several people asked if I was ill. The worst part of these injections started, as I said earlier, 2-3 days later. I have horrible pain in my shoulder blade and throughout my ribcage. I have muscle spasms and such burning that it actual causes me to bend to the right, and I could scream with the pain!! Nothing helps other than to put a hand towel behind my neck and pull each end so hard that it takes the pressure somehow off the muscles. I can hardly hold my head up most of the time due to muscle weakness. The Dr. says nothing other than take Advil. My internist, who did not do the injections, thinks I have what is called RSD from the needle sticks.
I don't see that this is easing at all, and I'm really concerned that I'm going to live like this the rest of my life!

I had been on simvastatin a couple months when the debilitating fatigue started. Since I have hypothyroidism I blamed it on that. The fatigue got worse along with severe depression, brain fog. Numbness in my hands and feet and kidney pain kept me up at night. And then the shoulder pain started. It was excruciating. While pulling a dress over my head, my shoulder literally blew up. Turns out my biceps tendon rupture and filled my shoulder joint with chunks of cartilage. After looking at my MRI the orthopedic surgeon said if I didn't have surgery, the excruciating pain would only get worse and I'd lose the use of my arm.
Now, after stopping simvastatin my LDL has gone up to 300. Dr. wants me to start Welchol. After reading the side effects on this site....um...I don't know.

I was taking Metoprolol Succ er 50mg by manufacturer TASAN
When I went to refill at CVS they gave me same medication by a different manufacturer TAETH - This pill is OVAL in shape and 3X as large as the other pill. The Metoprolol by TAETH was very small and oblong shaped.

I have been having severe pain in my shoulder joint. I am concerned that this is a side effect of the different manufacturer's version of Metoprolol.

I was diagnosed at age 46 with osteopenia and being post-menopausal (altho I never had any symptoms). I was put on Fosamax 1X/week. After a couple of months I developed a painful locked left shoulder. X-rays revealed nothing, and the doctors could not give me any cause except "getting older." I was unable to hook my bra, raise my arm above my head, take an item down from a cabinet shelf, pull a shirt over my head, or put my hair up. I was referred to a physical therapist, and after four months of daily exercises with tension bands and light hand weights, most of the pain subsided and mobility resumed.

Now, a year later, I have developed terrible pain in my right shoulder along with pain in the upper arm, difficulty sleeping due to the pain, and recurring pain in the left shoulder. The right shoulder is not locked as was the left, but it is more painful.

I started doing the shoulder exercises on my own and found that the pain would be better for a few days, then resume with a vengeance--usually on the weekends. After reading this website and many others--voila! I have been taking Fosamax on Fridays. I've been off it now for two weeks and the pain is definitely better.

A few other things that have helped are a good massage to loosen the muscles around the shoulder joints, nighttime application of a heating rub (BenGay), and sleeping with a small pillow tucked under the armpit on the painful side (like holding a baby) to take the weight of the arm off the shoulder joint.

I have also been losing clumps of hair every day; I don't see any thinning or bald patches, but I am amazed at the two handfuls that come out every time I wash my hair. I feel so much weaker, especially in my arms, than I ever have in my life. I have always been quite strong for my small size, able to life heavy things, run long distances (three marathons), and have great physical endurance. Now I feel like a weakling; I have trouble getting up or down if I am seated on the floor or laying down, trouble lifting anything over my head, and trouble relying on the strength in my arms for ordinary tasks such as lifting or throwing.

I will check back on this site often and post an update if I see any significant changes after being off the Fosamax for a while longer. I want my shoulders, my hair, and my strength back!

After about 1/2 hour of using Flonase for the first time, I felt a burning or tearing-type feeling in my left chest more toward the shoulder area. Then after a couple of days use I felt an irritation in the shoulder joint and this subsequently traveled to my rib cage. After about a week's worth of use, I felt a burning-like sensation in a small area on my lateral lower leg. I stopped using the Flonase and after about 4 days, the sensations subsided.

B IN OREGON, THOUGHT I WAS FALLING COMPLETELY APART SUDDENLY. STARTED HAVE SEVERE SHOULDER JOINT AND ARM WEAKNESS AND ARTHRITIC LIKE PAINS, WEAK AND TIRED,HAVE BEEN OFF OF LISINOPRIL FOR 3 DAYS NOW AND ALMOST BACK TO NORMAL, OCCASIONAL REOCCURANCES BUT MUCH LIGHTER AND CAN CONTROL WITH IBPROPHEN

i started Lisinopril about three days ago and have experienced severe shoulder joint pain. I'm glad i found this site. i will consult my physician but i'm off of this medication immediately.

stomach pain, shoulder, joint and leg pain, light headed, heahache and then stopped taking it after 3 days.

Caused problems with my Achilles Tendon and could hardly walk ,also a shoulder joint problem raising my are over my head

Severe and continuing pain in arms (particularly inside elbows), shoulder joint, neck, legs (especially behind knees), ankles and feet. Also tinnitis

Have tried NSAIDS, tylenol without much help. Heat seems to help a little. Exercise definitely makes it worse

Symptoms started on last day of course of treatment with Levaquin

I have had numerous Kenalog shots for allergies over the years with no side affects. I got one in August 2006 in the left arm and in about 3 to 4 weeks I have started getting numbness and aching in my left arm all the way down to my fingers. I have aching in my shoulder joint and into my back between my shoulder blades. I have also lost about 15 pounds. This has never happened to me before ? Has anyone else ever experienced this ?

I was bit by 4 fire ants. Of course I cannot be sure, I was sitting at a picnic table. It could have been a spider, but I'm sure I would have killed it before the second or third bite. One of the bites, evidently was successful with its poison. I was bit on the upper inner thigh. The infection spread on my leg to an area of 7 inches by about 9 inches. There was also a lump forming in my leg. It was at this point when the infected area would turn purple for 20 minutes at a time that I was prescribed levaquin. I am currently at day 11 of 14. I cannot take the itching. There is itching everywhere, my face, my arms, but particularly painful is the orafice for BMs. I put up with the nausea, the sleeping troubles, the acid reflux, the getting dizzy once in a while, the exhaustion in tyring to exercise, my neck and shoulder joint hurting. I just can't handle the anus itching, because you just cannot scratch there. And yet I'm not sure what the trade off is because there is still the lump from the insect poison in my leg. I'd like to finish with this nasty medicine (we'll see if I can suffer the last 3 days) but I will never willingly take levaquin again.

ested. time, after taking the drug, 20 minutes later i am throwing up, shoulder joint is extreme pain, neck pain and elbow pain all on the left side...taking aprox. 3 hours to get all of the med out of my system, the stomach sickness is gone, but the joint and neck pain persists...will this go away?
