I've taken Actonel 35 mg for about 2 years. I've stopped taking it. I have developed severe hip joint pain and stiffness. It has gotten progressively worse. First the hip tendons seemed to hurt and weaken, severe sharp shooting pain upon some movements. I have times where I injured the hip from simple things, like digging in the garden with a shovel. I am 52, am/was very active. Had breast cancer so the doctors keep testing for cancer in the hip, it's not there. X-ray show arthritis-type changes. The pain is getting worse, so I'm looking for doctors/treatment to help, stop, or reverse this hip pain. Actonel mentions joint/hip pain in the side-effects, anyone else have these problems?

I am a 25 year old, who was perfectly healthy prior to recently when I was diagnosed with Nephritic Syndrome and Minimal Change Disease and possibly FSGS (kidney diseases) I was put on 60 mg of Prednisone for 1 month then I was lowered to 40 mg for one month and I am then dropping to 30 mg. I am also taking Fosamax for my bones and a Vitamin D pill because my last lab test showed low vitamin D levels.
I am dizzy constantly and can not live a normal life, I can not drive or do any activities that I had previously done. My chest is so tight and constricted all of the time, my heart rate is so fast and pounds at my chest. I have no energy to do anything, I can barely open a door at times. I am beginning to grow unwanted hair on my face. My abdomen is always bloated. I have pain in my rib cage, and shoulders. I feel very sore throughout my entire body. I do not really sleep at night, so I look very tired all the time.
I have actually lost weight, I have no appetite at all. I am down 10-15lbs.
Now for the Pro- my Kidney Diseases are currently in remission and this has happened much faster than the Nephrologist had thought.
I am very anxious to getting my life back to normal and getting off the Prednisone.
Has any one else experienced increased heart rate, chest tightness, or rib pain?
I wish everyone the best in their roads to recovery!!

After 3 months taking lipitor, woke up during the night with full body muscle spasms. Emergency crew took me to emergency wherby morphine was injected over a three hour period to loosen the tightened muscles. Use of lipitor ended that evening.
For the next 26months, 8-12 major spasms occurred within a 24 hour period. Methocarbanol was and still is being used as a combative tool against spasms.
Currently determining what should be taken to provided nutrients to the muscles to help them to repair the damage done by the spasms that occurred.
Presently, major spasms have diminished to 4-6 per month, tight muscles persist, and its very easy to have muscle cramps when doing miscellaneouls medium to heavy duty chores. Medium would be reaching out to help pull yourself up and heavy would be snow shoveling with medium size shovel.
In my case, Zetia (non-statin) has brought my chloresterol levels down to an acceptable level & no side effects have occurred.

Hi Everyone. I had my Mirena inserted in September 2008. The first month was constant spotting and finally by November I started getting a "Light Period" but it was every 3 weeks. Shortly afterward I discovered i had an ovarian cyst. I had no prior history of cysts... ever ...and im 40. I was rechecked by ultra sound in December and the cyst had "obsolved" itself. I have had one "normal" period in January which was 30 days between the last one... yay. I'm still waiting to not have one at all and its been nearly 5 months. the mood swings are horrible. And my FACE.. ughh the ACNE... i look like im 16. Its really embarrassing. I'm willing to try and make this thing work. i mean your body needs time to adjust. I don't think i can take the acne much longer. Maybe I need someone to hit me with a shovel !
