Siad symptoms and conditions

Hello everyone: Just let me say that i feel relieved to know that i am not the only one going through hell with the Mirena. When i first heard about this birth control I thought it was too good to be true, and after talking the side effects over with my dr I was assured that this was the right choice for me. I have two beautiful daughter 3 and 1, I do want a third child but not until i finish my Masters. So i decided to have the Mirena put in after the birth of my second baby, she was born in Aug07 and i had the Mirena inserted in Oct07. Keep in mind that i had already lost all my baby weight by this time. Well a couple of months later i had already gained 15pounds, i exercise, eat healthy and those 15lbs did not budge. I began getting these awful headaches and by back feels like i am getting an epidural all over again. Acne is a major issue, i thought that maybe it was stressed related, i have never had a issue with my skin until now, i recently discovered dry patches on my arms. I have a regular period every month, but I have a awful discharge with a horrible odor. I have to wear panty liners every day. I feel dizzy all the time and i have to pump my self up just to clean my house. This is not my idea of living a healthy life. I think a lot more research should have been conducted before this product was put on the market, or maybe we are the research? Depression and anxiety attacks are major for me, i don't sleep and when i do i wake up having an anxiety attack. Memory loss is bad i can be in mid sentence and completely forget what we are talking about, that scared me to the point to where I thought i was going crazy!!! I went ot my doctor and told him everything that was going on and he just put me on an anxiety med and did blood work to make sure my thyroid was functioning properly. All test came beck ok!! So I need an explanation of what in the hell is going on. I had none of these issues before i had mirena, but now i feel like I am someone else. I am calling my doctor on Tuesday to schedule an appt to have this evil device taken out of me. My health is far more important!! And I would rather use condoms and prayer as my contraceptive!!! I'm on 50mg of Levoxyl I'm 42. I have experienced major gas and heartburn. I have no sex drive anymore and just feel like I'm in a box and can't get out. I thought by seeing a specialist it would help. I just don't know anymore. I told my doctor about my side effects and he said this medication has no side effects. Hmmm after reading all this I am printing and giving it to him. Anyone feel the same. Especially the gas and heartburn?

I'm 45 I had the mirena inserted 5 1/2 years ago for heavy and painful periods that made me acutely anemic. I had the second Mirena 10 months ago. Until i read this site and others like it I thought I was going mad. Only advantage for me has been super light periods. Have had weight gain round stomach, thighs and butt and cannot shift it despite doubling exercise and halving food intake. Have constant headaches and reccurrant sinus infections and memory/concentration problems, water retention nearly all month long and feel depressed most of the time. also oily skin libido is non existent! also joint pains and insomnia. Doctor said it was menopause but tests came back negative. Have an appointment next week to have it removed. A bit anxious about how heavy periods will be as they were pretty awful before but can't handle these side effects. Any one else my age whose had mirena removed how long before periods back to normal?

I started taking several medications along with Januvia in January and had mild depression it stopped after a week to two weeks. Because of some miscommunication with my Dr. I went of of januiva for about 1/2 of a month. On March 24 I started taking it again and started felling the mild depression again along with several other side effects that were common. I had one pharmacist tell me it was a side effect another that said no way and yet another that told me that if i had mild depression with it once that i problem was a side effect even though it was not common. Has any one at all had any sort of depression. Please i must know.

I started taking Lamictal about six weeks ago for epilepsy. Now keep in mind, I was on Dilantin which worked great for 17 years and then suddenly stopped working. I have been in medication hell since then. First Topamax made me dumb as a rock. I would space out all the time. Worst drug ever. Then Keppra which was better in that my memory/ability to speak came back but I had these intense ups and down. I had rages constantly. Now I'm on Lamictal. So far, it's better than the Topamax and the Keppra, however the dreams are very intense as are the night sweats. I'm also experiencing much hair loss. Fortunately I have a full head of hair but I'm afraid I will eventually lose it all.

I was just diagnosed with Crohns 7 days ago. They started me on 125 mg of Prednisone for 2 days over IV and now 60 mg a day. So 20 mg 3 times daily. I'm severely tired but I think that is just from being in the hospital for 2 weeks and not being able to sleep and I am just now getting home. The main problem is after I started the steroid I have all this white stuff in my mouth. Like the plaque you get on your tongue but it is all over my tonsils, cheeks, back of my throat and my mouth feels really raw. I cant eat because everything burns. The GI siad to gargle with mouth wash but nothing is working. Is the thrush from the high dose of steroids? or because now I have no immune system so I have a yeast infection in my mouth??? Any help would be great. Has anyone notice rapid weight gain with in the first couple of days of being on th ehigh dose????

I took Levaquin for Strep for 7 days. Durning that time the only real side effects I noticed was a lot of gas and cramps. Since I have been off the medicine I started with an upset stomach and dirrhea that won't go away. It started with a very bad headach and then every two days I feel like I have the flu. I also had chills and muscle soreness. I'm a 31 yr old mother of 3 and don't have the time for any of this. I went to the ER yesterday and they siad it was a backlash from the medicine and put me on another antibiotic. I also have had very wierd vision problems, feels like I'm in a tunnel. I would love to sue the company. People trust antibiotics and can't live like this.

Well, I had my GYN visit today. I told her about the symptoms I have been having since I stopped Yasmin 7 weeks ago- hair loss, dry skin, hair growth (on chin and chest), increased acne, no period, etc. She says that I just have anxiety which is causing my hair to fall out. She says that stopping the pill doesn't cause hair loss and being on the pill should not have caused the amount of anxiety I have. When I told her that while on yasmin my blood pressure, cholesterol and heart rate had increased she said nothing. When I told her that my potassium was low while on Yasmin (the most common side effect due to the diuretuc), she said nothing. She just kept going back to anxiety. How can anxiety cause hair to fall out from my head and grow everywhere else? After a lot of persuasion, she agreed to run hormone tests to check my testosterone and DHEA. But she siad that if they were normal, then nothing was wrong and I should see a therapist. She refused to believe that any of my problems could have been caused from being on Yasmin. I cried for an hour after my appt and couldn't return to work. Am I really just crazy???

I went to the phycologist for insomnia and the DR. siad it was becuase of depression, so he prescribed me Zoloft. I've been on it for 3 months now the only side effects are diarrhea. For me the drug has worked u just need to give it a lil time. You will see the diff.

My Dr. gave me a 5 day sample of Levaquin 250mg for a UTI 4 days ago. I took the 1st dose & almost immediately began experiencing a headache over my eyes. I figured it was just stress. I took my second dose & began feeling lightheaded & kind of dopey & my headache was still going strong. On day 3, I woke up with a golfball sized lump in the center or my forehead. I called the Dr. immediately but he could not be reached for 3 hours. In these 3 hours the swelling in my forhead continued to spread. I rushed to his office yesterday afternoon & he was amazed. He siad hes never heard or a reaction like mine but told me to NEVER take Levaquin or any similar drug ever again. He prescribed me another antibiotic & a 7-day pack of prednisone for the allergic reaction. Today I woke up and my forhead is not as swollen. The golf ball is gone but the swelling is travelling down my face. The bridge of my nose & under my eyes are now swollen. I'm very emotionally sensitive and my headache is still present. Levaquin is an evil evil drug! Take with caution!!!! I'll update when I'm feeling better.....hopefully real soon!
