To voicesi or anyone that has been off of yasmin longer than 5 months:
Have any of you decided to get on anxiety medicine and if so what did you get on? I am really starting to get impatient on this healing process. I really wanted to try to get this stuff out of my system naturally but I am getting really sick of being sick. But I am also nervous to take medicine after seeing what this birth control has done to me. After 5 months am I still supposed to be this emotional and have anxiety? Just having a really lousy day and need some advice from some of you...Thanks to all who respond =)

i have been on yasmin for three years. the first side effect i noticed was the dizziness. i used to have awesome balance (i was a gymnast), but now can barely stand on one leg with my eyes closed. the week after i started taking yasmin, i got in TWO car accidents and messed up my perfect driving record. i attribute it all to the dizziness.
i have PCOS...severely. my doctor perscribed yasmin to help control the disease and slow the facial hair i was slowly but steadily accumulating. PCOS also caused a me to develop muscles incredibly fast. i had a very boyish phsyique...broad shoulders, square waste, lots of muscle definition. i hated that so much that i felt the yasmin was my savior. he also put me on aldactone (spironolatone - the drug they say not to take with yasmin), but this caused me to become so exhausted and my hair to totally dry out. i went of the medication, but stayed on yasmin.
suddenly, i am experiencing horrible nausea and stomach problems. i can barely stand to eat anything other than yogurt. this has been going on for about a month, and i am so sick of being sick! i am also experiencing fluid retention to a severe degree. i am trying to flush it out by drinking tons of water, but i dont' think it's working. i have water in my ears as well. no one has been able to determine a reason that my ears hold water constantly. it's the worst pressure headache you'll ever experience. i believe yasmin is responsible for my nausea because when i had my period last week the nausea went away. sunday came around and I am back on the pill, and the nausea is back with a vengance. last night i dryheaved until i couldn't stand it anymore and just gave up and went to bed. i didn't sleep very well because of the numbness in my arms and legs. it's been keeping me up all night lately.
i scheduled a doctor's appointment tomorrow. i asked if they thought yasmin could be responsible for everything i've been experiencing, and they said not if i've been on it for 3 years. i'm so happy to have found this website. it makes me think i am NOT crazy and the pill is really messing me up.
i went of the pill for a week and lost five pounds previously. i'm hoping that going off for a while will be the right thing for me to do and i'll have relief from all of these horrible symptoms!

I am only 38 and I have extreme about of hair loss, hungry all the time, dry skin, no sex drive, no memory, the shakes, weight gain and can't lose any. I have been the same weight since the removal of the tumor. Ihaven't lose a pound and haven't gain a pound but I sick of being fat and can't lose a pound. No matter what I do. And I am always tired . I sleep about 90% of a day. I am to young to feel this way everyday. I feel they should of left the tumor in there so I could of still been myself for a little longer. Than to live like this each day. I just want to know what will happen if I quit taking this Levothyroxine?

I am at college and I am sick of being sick. I am going to tell my doctor that I do not have time for this! I questioned whether or not to go home to see if i just need good rest and time off. I thought i might have monno because i am feeling extremely fatigue and have swollen glands. I actually still have all these symptoms. Now that I have knowledge of what all of my sickness is most likely from, I think I will try stop taking this GREAT pill called singulair!!!! ....I want to tell everyone to not trust doctores when they tell you how great this drug is your going to take

I've been using Advair for 3 months, after a week or so major headaches and insomnia started. After one month I had constant upper respiratory problems, rhinitis, post nasal drip, then I got really sick supposedly from a common virus doctors insisted had nothing to do with Advair, I was in bed for 2 weeks, had a 104 fever for 4 days, major ear infection, muscle pains that made me feel like I was being beaten, stomach pains that come in waves and still persist on and off with no apparant cause, I am very itchy, my face is patchy and very dry, my ankles and feet often get very sore, this is all very unusual for me. Normal tasks make my feet feel like I've run a marathon. I've now stopped the Advair as of today after having gone yet again to the doctor with a sinus infection and my ear is hurting again! I'm sick of being sick! My back and breasts seem swollen and very tender. Doctors insist it can be something else but never the advair. I am going back to my turbo inhalers and herbal teas. I now have to take Mometasone furoate monohydrate (Nasonex) to help my nose and ears drain. I have been experiencing some blurred vision and almost every side effect listed on this web site. I do find "Respirease" herbal liquid formula helps but it gets a little expensive, I think its better than poisoning myself with Advair!

I began taking this drug on May 31, 2002 but stopped it a couple of times because I felt I probably didn't need it. All together, I probably didn't take it for 3 or 4 months during the 14 months that it was first perscribed. I did relatively fine for about 5 or 6 months, when the following December, I had my first upper respiratory infection. Since then, I have had 5 serious infections that lasted two to three weeks, one cold, and 4 flu infections involving the gastro-intestinal tract. It has been a horrible year for me, as I seem to get sick about every 4 to 6 weeks. I am a runner and I study voice--both physically demanding activities that I haven't been able to participate fully in. In fact, I haven't run since last year, and I can't sing with a sore throat , fever, and infection in my repiratory tract.
Today, July 25, 2003, I am recovering from another 2 + week upper respiratory infection that antibiotics have not touched. I have been in bed since July 14.
I too have gained a few pounds since last year--7 or 8. But the main thing for me right now is the illnesses--it's overwhelming.
What I want to know is, if this drug is indeed causing my health distress, after stopping it, will I return to normal??? Or have I permanently caused harm?
I'm sick of being sick.

I have been taking Lisinopril for abut 8 months plus 2 other blood pressure medications. The side effects I felt were not the ones I saw on the list I received. It was not until I read side effects others had did I realize what my problem was. I have had the dry cough so have to carry water or cough drops with me at all times. Never before did I have heartburn but it is frequent now and my medicine cabinet now carries Alka Seltzer and Pepto Bismol plus antacid pills which I carry with me at all times. I see my blood pressure went down but like others my heart rate has gone up to the point where I went to Emergency Room in hospital thinking I had a heart attack. I had the worse sore throat I have ever had which was short lived. I was diagnosed with bronchitis which I doubted as I had no fever. Right afterwards I was diagnosed with a virus as I had no appetite and was so lethargic. This lasted 3 weeks and still happens now and then. I get dizzy and then sick to my stomach. The worse thing is lack of sleep. After I read others had the problem I was so relieved to know that it indeed was Lisinopril. I would go to bed and had a hard time getting to sleep only to wake up again after only 1 or 2 hours of sleep. Getting back to sleep was also hard. For 2-1.2 months I have had miserable nights, waking up about 4 times and having a hard time getting back to sleep. Tried everything imaginable to get some sleep and wandered around the house alot. Decided to cut the pill in half and see what happened. The last two nights I only woke up twice instead of 4 times so that proves it was Lisinopril. Knew I should not quit it cold turkey. Have an appoint with a cardiologist in 2 days as I hope he knows more about side effects than my doctor. I had my house tested for mold and even thought my water may be contaminated. Now I see so many others had the same problems as me. Thank goodness for this website.
