I have been taking Lipitor 20 mg for 4 months. Six to eight weeks ago I developed exema, allergic conjunctivitis and burning/swelling of my lips. I saw a PA at my doctor's office today and we are stopping Lipitor for 10 days to see if it is the culprit. Has anyone else experienced these problems while taking Lipitor?

CBS news just aired a report on the harmful side effects of Statin drugs. It featured a man who had his muscles damaged by a Statin. This man, according to the report was otherwise very healthy, had normal cholesterol, but was given the drug anyway. ( This just goes to show how hard the marketing push is on statins) The ugly truth about statins is now beginning to emerg in the media. The truth has been suppresed by those who have a vested interest in the drug.
I have been studying statins for some time now. Mark my words. Statin drugs will go down in history as the largest medical catastrophy on record.

After studying the side effects of Statin drugs for 2 years, including lipitor, I think we now have a new medical problem.
I call it STATINITIS. Of course I created that word, but what is happening to people as a result of these drugs is NOT funny.
Otherwise healthy people are being prescribed statins like it were candy. Too many people's lives are being turned upsidedown by this drug. Some recover, some don't. Yet some have paid the ultimate price- death.

Folks, Lipitor is the most widely prescribed drug. People are blaming their various problems on lipitor. They should see the appropriate specialist to address their specific symptoms vs self-diagnosing and blaming it on lipitor.
