I have been on Loestrin 24 FE since February. For the first few months I was very irritable, overly sensitive, and just plain moody. I hardly get any mood swings now, although they do occur sometimes and quite randomly. My contacts also bothered me a lot for the first 2 months, then they were fine, but recently they've been irritating me again. The thing that I don't like about this pill the most is that I get two periods. One at the end of the pack when I am supposed to (it lasts 6 days but is significantly lighter than before) and then another one two weeks into the pack (lasts about 6 days too, is very light, has a brownish color..quite frankly, just more annoying than anything). The second period comes with cramps too. The two periods started coming about 3 months ago, I am not sure if it's just from stress or something, because I started college or if other people are experiencing the same thing.
All in all I think this pill is alright, if the two periods continue to occur for another month of two I'm going to have to switch though.

I am sitting here is shock as I read the posts here. I have been taking Toprol XL for about 5 years now. It was 50MG and went up to 100MG when I had some heart arrythmias. Except for some dizziness at first no other side effects were noticed. For some reason my cardiologist switched me to me metprolol. I am currently scheduled for colonoscopy, a look into my stomach as well as blood test and stool test and on a strict diet.. why?, because I have been having serious gastro problems for 2 months now. (Diarrea, gas, stomach pain, blood )I told m first gastro guy about my meds and he said Metoprolol would not cause it. Yet I have just read here and on a side affect site, that gastro problems happen to 5 out of 100 people!!! This problem started very soon after I switched meds. Yesterday I skipped m meds accident. I went 48 hours without meds. NO problems! I took m meds last night and this morning my stomach is in turmoil. Tomorrow I cut my meds in half. Then call my cardio guy and change back to Toprol. There is an obvious difference in the drugs.

I was put on Lipitor in 2004 and didn't realize what was happening to me-I thought I was just getting old. (I'm now 66) I went from a very active person to one who struggled to get out of the car and my entire body ached. I was constantly tired, I had trouble putting thoughts together. I would sit at the kitchen table and cry because I felt so awful. I started losing my balance and falling down. In one of my falls in December 2006 I injured my left hip. I went to a chiropractor to see if he could help relieve the pain in my hip. While going over my symptoms and medications he pointed out that the Lipitor I'm taking could cause most of my symptoms. He suggested I call my doctor and talk to her. I did and she said that Lipitor could cause severe muscle aches-she wanted to do a blood test and said that I could just go off the Lipitor. My blood test was normal. That was in March 2007 and I have been off the Lipitor since. The fatigue and muscle aches have gone away. I still have the hip pain (bursitis) and have been going to physical therapy for that. My memory is improving but I still have to concentrate, repeat names and write things down trying to remember. I'm trying to lose weight (most of it gained around my middle). I go to the gym and exercise to try to build my muscle strength. I'm not tired all the time, I've read that the symptoms can last a long time and sometimes may never go away. I've been told by the doctor that if my cholesterol is up at my next visit that she wants me to go back on Lipitor. She also said that if it had been the Lipitor, the symptoms would have gone away right after I went off the Lipitor. I will absolutely refuse to go on any Statin-I cannot take the chance of feeling so badly again.

I have been taking Estrostep Fe since 2001. Before that I had tried other pills and had horrible side effecgts including nausea, extreme personal dryness and digestive problems.

Once I began taking Estrostep, I expereinced no negative side effects. The side effects that I expereinced were all positive. Before Estrostep I had severe cramping, back pain and moodieness during periods that lasted for 6-7 days. While on Estrostep, these menstral symptoms have significantly decreased or disapeared and my periods only last three days on average.

I've only been on singulair for 6 days and it is now 4:23am. I just couldn't sleep tonight. I've been having the strangest dreams and I commented to my wife about them. We just laughed it off. Anyway, at this time of the morning, my EARS are "Hissing" so loudly, not ringing, however I do detect a slight pulsating tonal sound in my left ear, that I just couldn't sleep anymore. I've a history of Tinnitus but something has exacerbated my tinnitus dramatically, so much so it is keeping me awake. I think I'll be needing something to help me sleep now. Perhaps I will stay off the Singulair for now just to see if life returns to some kind of normalcy. Could it be a side effect of Singulair. I don't know but I felt like driving something through my head to stop all the loud noise. Has anyone else experienced elevated levels, or a new development of "Ringing in the Ears", commonly known as Tinnitus?

I have had months of mysterious symptoms, evolving worse and worse, over time. I didn't even remotely suspect that it was my Mirena. Which I had put in over a year and a half ago.
Until, after literally because over the last couple of months. It was as though I was having extreme morning sickness. I threw up every day. Always at the same basic time. It didn't seem to matter what I ate. It felt like 'morning sickness'!!!
I've slowly, but steadily, despite increasing my exercise significantly. As well as eating far better, not worse, than before. Gained about 40 lbs.! I was 60 lbs less, just about 4 years ago. All the weight is concentrated around my middle.
I am on anti-anxiety pills. And they used to help, but now barely get me through the day. I have insomnia regardless of my sched., activity level, or mood. I had an extremely painful insertion, and months of constant bleeding, after getting it put in.
My sister was so stunned w/my symtoms recently, she made me get a pregnancy test.
I look pregnant. Feel pregnant, but alas, not pregnant. Birth control pills never agreed w/ me. I am furious these aren't presented as possible side effects to women. I had it removed yesterday at no small cost. Just hoping I can return to something like my old self soon!

I started taking Yasmin a year ago to help control my acne which the dermatologist described as adult acne or hormonal acne. It worked and cleared it up. Since then I have gone off of it twice, but the acne returns, so I go back on it. I went to the regular doctor this past week, and he diagnosed me with depression. The depression symptoms started around the same time I was put on yasmin. Could they be linked? I don't want to go off of it because my acne will come up, but it seems to have totally changed my personality. Thoughts??

I started taking Lisinopril in October of last year and at first I thought it was great. It reduced my blood pressure significantly and stopped my migraines and stopped my ankles and hands swelling. However, in January of this year I started to experience very painful, itchy swollen eyelids and a general feeling of itichiness all over my face and neck. As I have suffered from eczema on and off for years, though never on my face, I put it down to that. The itching and redness does respond to steroid creams and antihistamines a little and it clears up for a while, but then is back with a vengance a few days later. It's very embarrassing and I have to stop wearing make-up when it's bad. I've only just realised after six months of this that it could be the Lisinopril. I've also had a bit of a dry cough but not enough to really bother me. However, whilst making breakfast one morning this week I nearly fainted so now after reading everyone's experiences on this website I really think I need to visit my doctor and have my medication changed. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this site - it's really helped me to know about the side effects of Lisinopril.

it has been a month since i stopped taking levaquin (10 days 500 mg for a UTI infection). The excruciating pain in my upper arms shows no signs of abating. This drug has significantly affected the quality of my life.

I was put on 500 mg of Levaquin for 5 days on April 12, 2007 for a urinary tract infection. I had already been on another antibiotic two different times, which did not help. I noticed on the third day, today, that I had a severe pain in my right hip. I have also experienced some itching. Those are the only side effects I have encountered with this drug. The infection has improved significantly.

I have been taking 50mg for the past month for postpartum anxiety. My only complaint is that it makes me feel sleepy. But my anxiety has decreased significantly. I wish I had asked for something months ago.

Just got off of lisinopril a few days ago under doctors orders after taking the drug for about 6 months. Was having bouts with itchyness with skin writing all over the body, went to a dermatologist and suggestion was made that lisinopril was the culprit. Itctyness is subsiding now. Still coughing with a little phlem once and a while that I hope will subside within a few weeks. Was getting shorness of breath wich seems to be getting better as the days progress being off the drug. On the plus side it had lowered the blood pressure significantly. Am now monitoring and recording blood pressure at home till drug diminishes from system and something else can be prescribed if needed....

I have used advair for about 5 months and it has significantly imporved my capacity to breathe without the usual symtoms of my asthma controlling my life. On occassion I still have to use an inhaler. I brush my teeth and rinse with Listerine after each enhalation and this seems to control the thrush. I have, however experienced some soreness in the right Kidney and my urine has a strong order to it. this comes and goes.

I received 2 intra-muscular injections of Kenalog (60mg total) on April 11, 2006 for an allergic skin rash that I had. I have been experiencing almost constant uterine bleeding ever since. My OBGYN has done every imaginable test and can find nothing wrong with me (thank God) so we think it is the Kenalog. It has already been over 4 months. When is this ever going to wear off? My blood pressure also went up significantly. I am so mad that I got those Kenalog shots. Kenalog is horrible! It should only be used for emergencies and not for a skin rash that would have gone away on its own.

My daughter is 8 years old and has been on Advair since she was 4 years old. In those 4 years she gone from a normal, healthy weight child to significantly overweight. When I discussed this with her Pulmonologist he said that there wasn't enough steroid in the Adviar to cause this. And to put this in perspective she has put on 30 lbs in just one year. After reading some of the entries I was relieved to find out that she is not alone. As of today I have taken her off the Advair. Thankfully she has the type of asthma that can be handled in another way. I just wish I had found this website earlier.

I just stopped taking Yasmin because I became depressed and my sex drive dropped significantly. I had no interest to make love to my husband and being a newlywed, it scared me to death. Its been a few days and now I'm starting to feel normal again. We're not ready for children at this time so, I'm unsure what to do about going back on a pill. I'm afraid the same thing happen to me even if I switch to something different. I've tried the Patch, and it gave me the worst mood swings possible and I gained 12 pounds the first month I took it. The ring worked best for as far as little to no side effects but, my husband was turned off by the increased discharge. Other than that I would have stayed with the ring.

My daughter is 8 years old. She has been on Advair for about three years (maybe four) and I have noticed over the years that she seems very irritable. This symptom is getting worse as time goes on, and I think it will develop into depression if I don't do something soon. Another symptom is weight gain. When my daughter started Advair she was at a normal weight for her age and had a normal appetite (her father and I are both normal weight). Now she is significantly overweight and never seems full. She is always saying" I'm still hungry". I have discussed these problems with her Pediatrician and he tells me not to worry, and that there is not enough steroid in Advair to cause the problems that I am concerned about. I trust her DR. but I am worried that he is ignoring significant problems. Has anyone else had these types of side effects or am I indeed the overimaginative mother that the Dr. thinks I am?

lisinopril has weakened me.Lisinopril causes a tired feeling in my stomach and chest that is unatural--makes my breathing difficult- and has not significantly changed my BP which is in the average range of 160/50--with or without the pharmcueticals-For the past 30 years I have relied on a diet high in seafood consumption-broad range of vegetables-vitamin and mineral pills (a long list, including fish oil) and as much physical activity as a 75 yr old man feels comfortable with. no more lisinopril for me thank you very much,,,,

Asthma has improved significantly though.

I have a prescription for topamax now for 3 weeks and I have been scared to death to start it just because of the side effects of nurontin. Those were nothing compared to what I have been reading for topamax!! I have badly damaged nerves, plus I take many other meds such as oxycontin, norco, soma, baclofen, phernergan, levid and xanax. I am waiting on my nuro doc to tell me if taking topamax is ok. My memory is my life....I have a great ability to multitask about 12 things at once and do them all at 100% and have a memory like an elephant...I dont want to lose that and from what I have read, topamax will do it to me. I can handle the nausea and anxiety because I have meds for that. I wear strong glasses already because of my bad eyesight...I am afraid of making it worse. Please give me your opinions. I have a home to take care of and a husband and 2 young daughters...my husband does so much for me and the thought of this drug making me hate him or treat him bad is more than I can handle. He does it all for me, get me out of bed, take me to the bathroom, get me dressed sometimes..I am scared. Someone please give me some advice.

Yes for sure the bad cough is the side effect. It was the only drug I was prescribed and took in the last month and could be the only cause. Really bad knowing you have a cough and cannot do a @##%^%^& thing about it and then the mucus stuff to deal with for the next hour!!! Forget about a long sleep!!! Forgot to take that drug and hence lesser cough... Stopped the pills altogether and changed diet significantly and blood pressure has stayed normal...

I was taking Diovan 80mg for about 4 months and was told prior to taking it by my physician that it had little to no side affects. I experiencined a great deal of weight gain, fatigue and bloting. I found it almost impossible to loose weight even with everyday running and dieting. In addition, often heart rate surges during sleep, and great swings in mood/depression. It assisted in bringing my blood pressure down significantly but ultimatley stopped working. I am now on Lotrel.

GOOD:

I lost weight (about 5 pounds) and my acne (which always seemed weird and hormonal--not the typical T zone stuff) was helped significantly. I also had decreased PMS symptoms.

I tried Alesse later and had breakthrough bleeding and returned acne. My university physician suggested it because they didn't offer Yasmine. It's not the same at all though.

My regular gyn said other patients had lost weight on Yasmine too.

Works for me!
