I am still trying to figure out all this yasmin stuff. I am the one whose 13 yr old daughter was given yasmin as sorta a favor because she was having long periods. It seem to me that yes, yasmin or yaz whatever the difference is works well for lots of people. Thats great i'm glad to hear that. What about the handful of women/girls that it does not work well for even potentially dangerous. I am starting to thinkl that the ones that have had bad reactions to this are the ones that didn't have good followup with thier obgyn. It seems to me that there is sometimes no association made with bcp and some of these adverse reactions. I mean when my daughter started to get sick and stuff I took her to the pediat. not the ob/soccer mom. I just happened to stumble upon this site in my own desperation to figure out why my daughter has been and is so chronically tired all the time. I do wish when I recieved these sample packs of strong hormones that i would have been told of things to look for. Honestly ,I don't think this doctor knew of these side effects. I will say they stopped the bleeding she hasn't been on yasmin since the end of march and still hasn't had a period. I was told this should be out of her system by now. I don't believe that though.

Discontinuing Lisinopril (UPDATE from 06/13/07 post):

It's been about two weeks since I discontinued Lisinopril and there is light at the end of the tunnel! I'm no longer walking around "in a fog", though I still have some problems at times in recalling events, names, etc. The 'medicine mouth'/dry mouth has almost gone away and I can now eat normally. The cough and mucus are totally gone as well as is the major portion of my headaches. Instead of my BP jumping around when I take multiple readings (2-5 mins apart) there is a steady drop in my BP down to 114/80 (taken at work, usually after exertion). I am sleeping much, much better and the fatigue has vastly improved. I am actually looking forward to home projects and working a new part-time job. (When I was on taking Lisinopril, I had an interview that I did very poorly at one interview... I was in a total 'fog' and had problems organizing my thoughts and answering questions in a professional manner). I can once again laugh at life and not merely go through it like a machine.

The bottom line is this... in my case, THERE IS improvement. It may not be evident every day, but comparing it to a few days back, I see more of my old self. If you have gone off the med, BE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR BP AT LEAST EVERY DAY (if not more) and hang in there. Everyone's body is different and it may take a little longer to get it out of your system. Just remember, you are supposed to be feeling BETTER... if you experience signs of a heart attack, stroke, etc., it not the time to 'tough it out'... seek medical help IMMEDIATELY.

Interesting side note... I went in to the MD's office and told three employees including an RN) that I was experiencing significant side effects. All three of them said exactly the same thing, "So, what are you telling me; you want an appointment?" The RN reluctantly said that she would talk to the MD. About six hours later, she called home and left a message to tell me to discontinue the med, monitor my BP, and call back in a week if I wasn't any better.(I'm glad I didn't have to pay for that advice... since I was already doing it!)

Please post how you are doing after getting off the med... it is a big encouragement to everyone.

Good Luck!

well around my period im worse than ever each month seems to be getting better thou which is good i was on yasmin 1 year.

which i lost my 1st babys year as i had all the side effects to this pill and i didnt seen intrested in him at all so thanks o this i lost out on enjoying his 1st year .

but my husband is such a beauty he stands by me to this day each and every day gets better you do have bad days but u are boan to coming of this getting it out your system.
the thing i still suffer with which i aint complaining after most of the effects either mild of stoppped now is the left arm aching now and again i did use to get striking pains in it all the time and in my chest but the chest pains have gone and the arm only plays me up now and again especially when tierd at night so this pill was oviously effecting the heart as the syptoms i was having chest pains etc.. was all signs of a heart attack.
my doctor didnt admit that it was this pill but he knows it was he was really good and advised to stay of it i am never touching any form of contraceptive again in my life apart from the condom.
