I used lipltor for about 6 months. I started to get pain in my arms and legs. My arms and legs became weak and I could barely walk up the stairs at night to go to bed and also started getting leg cramps that were vissible under the skin. It has been about a year since I stopped taking the lipitor and most of my problems went away fairly quickly after stopping. I still have pain in my legs especially the left leg. This has not gotten any better for months. Are there others who have had a similiar experiences?

I have been taking warfarin for over a year now. I'm not sure if my symptoms are from the meds or not. I have a very itchy scalp, and I occassionly have difficulty swallowing. Right now I have a pinched nerve and right shoulder pain, have had it on and off for 6 months, my right index finger was numb and tingly for a month. I am currently seeing different doctors to see what the problem is, so far nothing. I'm hoping to go off Warfarin soon, against my hematologist's advice. Has anyone had any similiar symptoms while taking warfarin?

I am currently taking Levaquin for the first time; just finishing a one week course @ 500 m.g. / day. Had a bacterial infection on knee similiar to an insect sting (one hole). Not only cleared up but also helped with a undiagnosed condition in the lungs which has caused a chronic cough for at least five years now .... now gone. Never had any indication of side affects.

so glad to read these comments as most of my doctors have told me warfarin has no side effects. mine are increased sensitivity to cold, foggy brain, memory problems, persistent itchy rash on my leg, clumsiness, lightheadedness, frequent fatigue.

on 9mg, Protein S deficiency. my INR also bounces all over the place too.

Hi!
I had an Ulcer last December & was told to take Prilosec. After several weeks, I developed extreme leg cramps or soreness from my kness down. I thought maybe I had a blood clot or something. I stopped taking prilosec & started taking randitane ( same as Zantac 150) Ulcer went away......

well, I have been told I have acid reflux -I knew I always had it but took medication as needed, instead of daily. My EN&T Dr. put me on Aciphex. Sure enough, about 2-3 weeks after taking it daily( meaning up to a few days ago) I once again developed those awful leg cramps....I called my pharmacist to see if it was similiar to Prilosec & he said yes!!! - I stopped taking Aciphex about 3 days ago. Legs are still crampy - but not as bad - I have to find another solution - the GERD is pretty bad - but I can't handle the leg cramps to - it has definately caused some anxiety being so sensitive to these medications.

Anyone have any other suggestions? The pharmicist mentioned prevacid. I am just so tired of these aches & pains & complaining everyday ( sorry to take it out on you!!)

By the way - I always have frequent chest pains and a sore throat - I have had everything there checked out - I couldn't believe what I am feeling is GERD.

I have been on Yasmin for three months. I love the fact that my skin has cleared up, my hormones are stabilized, etc. I have PCO and this is a very good pill for people with PCO (the have a lack of progesterone). My headaches are gone, I have more energy and NO depression.

However, I also have IBS and in the last month, I have been having the MOST HORRIBLE IBS problems. At first I thought I was having stomach flu problems or food poisoning, until it started happening once a week. I am not sure if it due to the pill or my diet. But it appears that other people are also having this problem. I am not going to stop the pill. Instead there is a new pill out for IBS and I will try that first and see if it calms my colon down. I am also going to look for something similiar to Yasmin because I love all of the other positive side effects.

i thought my life was over. not even fourty years old and ask my doctor to write an order for a toilet lift. thats how bad my muscle hurt. getting in and out of cars, as though i were a 90 y/o. horriable! and we didn't know why. doctor did not make any refference to 'statins" . In addition to muscle death, restles leg syndrome found me as well. really thought i was dying from an unyet diagnosed disease. and where did that come from? all of a sudden everyone has it.
this was nonexistant not that long ago. similiar to the " bi -polor. every other person seems to have it or someone they know. I'm still mad. iwill never be the way I was prior to all this. I want to sue the shorts of the maker;'s and or the F.D.A.
don't they approve these drugs first? all comes back up the drain pipe . Does it not?. the cost alone from ill considered passage of such drugs does more harm than good. not only suffering but death. millions of dollars from the side effects. all these costs are passed on to the state and or one pocket book.
my cholesterol is o.k. now but with each blood test and blood donation i give mentions enzymes.. now i willl also check reports for(cpk) lookin to sue you ZOCOR..

I am so glad I found this site!!! I started Yasmin last month and had some weird side effects that at first I blew off. Right leg muscles cramping, severe indegestion, and shortness of breath. Along with a heaviness in my chest and breast area. The leg pain and cramping was the worst---although I did lose over 20 lbs. the first month. I started having pain in my left arm and went to the ER afraid I was having a heart attack! Everything checked out, no clot in the leg and my breathing eased. Then my cycle came(lots of bleeding and clotting) and the migraines started.....my gyn said all was ok.
So I restarted the pill and felt a lot better(thought it was just the first month sdjustment). Turns out I realized I'd started the pack wrong side up and been taking the placebos pills...feeling like an idiot I started the pack right last night and within hours the cramping returned and the heaviness in my chest returned! I was afraid I was having a heart attack! I am done with these pills and am seeing my doctor on Monday to check for any heart damage! Has anyone ever filed claims against this pill? All these forums with women and their horrible similiar side effects seem like a reason to recall the pill.....?

I have been on only 50mgs of Topamax for migraines and love what it has done for me. The only side effect that I have experienced that I do not see posted on here is that I get these purplish/red spots on my feet and bumps under the spots that have inceasingly gotten worse over the year that I have been on the drug. If anyone else has experienced this could you please notify me. ONe other has notified me with the same type of experience, and when she weaned herself off the topamax she got rid of the symptoms. Im in the process of weaning myself off, and the symptoms are slowly going away.....please let me know if you have experienced anything similiar!!!!

I have been on Lisinopril for a year now, and I think I have been experiencing some of the same things others have written about here. I am on 40mg dose and it idoes a mediocre job at controlling my blood pressure.

When I lay down, which is alot because I think I am getting fatigue from the Lisinopril, my heart is pounding so hard in my chest...it keeps me from resting peacefully. When I am standing or sitting I rarely ever notice it. Like I wrote I think it causes fatigue. I would like to know what kind of rash anyone has developed. I have one that comes and goes on the inside crease of my right elbow area. I think it does does a fibromyalgia, as well.

I am glad I am not the only one....I am glad I found this site and know that other people are experiencing similiar things. I am NOT crazy afterall.

Dizziness, nausea, vertigo, tiredness, weakness, muscle aches and a dr. that keeps telling me it must be a coincidence ann that i probably have the flu, even though i've been on lamictal for 6 weeks and have just raised my level to 50 mgs. a day .wanted to go on lamictal because dr. assured me it would not have the cognitive side effects depakote has.she definitely has not been truthful since i've been reading alot of postings by others who have alreadytaken lamictal and they're having alot of difficulty withfinding theright word when speaking, trouble concentrating and reading and just plain old fogetfulness and associated confusion.and she wants me to happily subject myself to this!help-i'm scared to death!

Andiegags:

I had such a similiar experience to yours even though I am much older! I had taken Yasmin w/o problems for a couple of years. Or so I thought. I did have nightsweats, and leg cramps, but I thought is was my age (40). Then this winter it was like a switch went off. I had terrible migraines, panic attacks, heart palpitations.. I saw All the doctors... Neurologist, cardiologist, ER. I stopped the pills 2 1/2 months ago at the neurologist's suggestion and things are getting better. I have had some BAD days, (major anxiety and ugly moods which I have never had until this) but this site has helped me feel less crazy. I do not know if the month back on the pill for you will matter. But you cannot let that worry you. Just know you are not crazy and you will get better day by day.

I am a 44 yr old male and I have been on Lipitor for several years. I started getting muscle weakness but thought nothing of it other than getting older. I am starting to feel fatigue, pain across lower back and buttocks legs and arms. I have also started to notice memory loss both short term and long term which has effected me alot lately. I am going to stop my Lipitor after reading all these articles with similiar side effects. I will report my progress when I see a difference. I can only hope that the memory loss goes away so that it doesn't effect my work or ability to work.

My wife died from the effects of Mivacron during minor surgery to have a pin removed from her arm. The Mivacron caused paralysis for several hours after the surgery. A few days later she developed an unknown hepatitus. Then her liver failed and a few days later (on Christmas 2005) she was brain dead. The Dr.'s took her off life support on New Years Eve.

The death certificate lists the causes of death as
1. Acute Liver Failure
2. Hepatic Encephalopathy
3. Probable Reaction To Anesthetic Agent (Mivacron)

Still haven't got a complete pathology report. Pathologist indicates cause of death as "chronic liver failure".

She was 60 years old, in very good health. non-smoker and didn't use alcohol.

If anyone has had anything similiar happen please email me

My mother's symptoms were similiar to ada's. My mother who has been on Lipitor for a number of years has just been hospitalized twice, to the doctor 8-10 times within a two week period and has been to the emergency room three times for severe back pain. All within a two week time period! After doing every test known to man, CT Scans, MRI, x-rays, bone scans, they were able to find absolutely nothing wrong. Yet her pain is so bad at times that she requires injections of morphine as well as percocet by mouth! The doctors have finally come to the conclusion that she's experiencing muscle spasms/pain which could be caused by taking lipitor! I am hoping that by stopping this horrid medication she will begin to recover from this awful experience. How can such a drug continue to be prescribed to people when side effects such as this occur? I am shocked to read all of the posts here about this drug. Does anyone know if the muscle pain ever goes away once the person stops taking lipitor?

My son is currently 3.5 years old. He was diagnosed with asthma, but not without doubt. The doctor informed us that to be sure the patient must be given a drug for asthma and if the patient doesn't exibit any symptoms of asthma they must have asthma. So havin a broad background in science I thought, what a horrible way to decide if someone needs meds. So of coarse they prescribed singulair and this should stop any out breaks if he has asthma. Well I disagreed with the diagnosses and mentioned that his outbreaks are spreading out and only occure with a severe fever, and in addition I determined that the best treatment was to get the fever down as fast as possible. This had a much more dramatic effect than the nebulizer. The doctor said that was just asthma and that he needs to be treated chronically not accutely. After much debate with my wife about the prescription (I was against, she for) it was dropped, so it seemed. He has had no problems since early spring 2005 and none to date feb 2006. Although we have noticed that is behavior has becoming more unpleasent in the last few months with fits that he never had before? This morning I noticed a bottle of singulair chew tablets that was filled in late Aug. 05 and had one pill left. My wife dicided to put our son on this without my knowledge. This prompted me to find info. on singulair which led me to this web site and wow look at all the similiar side effects. What a world we live in when a parent that is concerned about what and how a doctor decides to prescribe to your child is questioned. I was made to feel like a none caring parent by many, to even question the advise of a doctor. So now the big ? he has not had any symptoms so is the drug to be continuely given or do I stand up for my son and take him off of it, and possible suffer being labeled the bad parent or worse??????????????????

Hi,
I'm not sure if I should be posting this on the webpage for Yasmin or Seasonale but I'm just looking for someone else who has had a similiar experience because I feel like I'm losing my mind.

It all started back in March when I realized that I was going to have my period for my May wedding. Well, I called my gyno and the nice nurse gave me the best news ever! She told me to keep taking my active pills (then on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo) until after the honeymoon and then let myself have my period. Well this sounded as good as living happily ever after.....just without the period.

It worked for about 7 or 8 weeks and then disaster struck. I got my period and it wouldn't go away! No matter how many active pills I took, my period just wouldn't go away. So now it's at the end of April, my wedding was for May 29th and I was severly bloated due to endometriosis, my period and stomach problems and I was so big that i could barely fit into my gown. Panicked I called up the gyno and they gave me a new script for a new birth control. I waited the week and started the following Sunday. After another week of having my period I walked into the gyno and just sobbed to the doctor telling him that I was so bloated and that I couldn't wear my dress for more than 15 minutes without wanting to rip it off and put on some sweats. (wedding in 20 days now)

Seasonale was our last hope and my savior. I started Seasonale the following Sunday and finally my period was gone. The wedding was beautiful, but by the time I had come home from the honeymoon I noticed that I was considerably heavier. Thinking that it was because of the way that we ate on the honeymoon ,I dismissed it and went back to the normal workout that I had been doing all year. (Last year was the thinnest that I had ever been)

After another month of being fat, I attributed it to the Seasonale because no matter how much I worked out or tried to eat better than I did pre-wedding, I could not lose any weight. I tried water pills and I couldn't lose anything.

I asked my doctor to switch me back to Ortho Lo after being on Seasonale for only two months and I lost maybe a few pounds and then hit a plateau. After one month on Ortho Lo and starting to lose my mind, I decided to go off of BC and give my body a rest. I let my body rest for one week and then started Yasmin as my best bet because it's supposed to have some sort of water pill in it and I know a lot of woman who have lost weight on it. I was doing well for the first month or so and now I'm on my 4th month and i feel just as big as when I was bloated on Seasonale. I'm going to the doctor on Thursday but I haven't read but on review for Yasmin that said anything about weight gain and I believe that I'm at the end of my rope.

Has anyone else had a similiar situation go on. I would love to feel that if I go off of Yasmin that the weight will just shed, but because no one really complains about Yasmin except for being nervous and having panic attacks which I have anyway because I'm nuts (lol) I'm not sure if I should go off of it or give it some more time.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Good luck to everyone on Yasmin and congrats to those of you have shed a few pounds on it!

I have never been able to have an orgasm during intercourse or orally with my husbad EVER until Topamax. Now I do FIRST every time. It is SO strange. It usually occurs within 3 minutes of sex. I am a 35 year old female who is taking 100mg for Migraines. I also take 100 mg. Zoloft. I have looked ALL over the internet for someone with similiar side effect and haven't found anyone. Thanks

Please everyone who suffers from any of these symptoms, I would love an email asap as I feel like I am going crazy.
My dr prescribed buproprion sr 150 mg along with lexapro 20 mg about 3 weeks ago to help combat a major bout of postpartum depression. She had to wean me off of 40 mg of Prozac first from previous depression issues.
Since then, I feel as though I am losing my mind. I cry all of the time, I have pain in the middle of my right abdomen area that feels like a burning/indigestion feeling, I have no appetite at all, totally anxiety, terrible fatigue with even worse insomnia. When I do finally get to sleep, I experience HORRIBLE nightmares that last for hours. In addition, I have had multiple headaches and a few vomiting episodes.
The depression was so horrible that I feared the way I was feeling. Yet the buproprion has given me all of these new feelings and I am really affraid I will never feel normal again.
Should I give these new meds more time to take effect? Has anyone else used them for postpartum depression and felt these symptoms? Please email me at ****** I feel very alone in the ways I am feeling and would love to chat with someone who has had the similiar experiences.
Thanks
Trisha

To the last post:
Anxiety is a major withdrawal side effect once off Yasmin. It has now been close to 7 months for me and I am now feeling ALOT better, but I admit it has been a very slow road to recovery. Be sure to explain how you're feeling to those close around you, as they need to be able to support you through this. You feel like you're 'losing it' sometimes when in fact you are the same old you, but just effected by the low level hormones.

The anxiety is due to your low progesterone level now you are off Yasmin. I'd recommend you have your levels checked out. I am now on Agnus Castus to help re-balance my hormones. I wished I hadnt waited until now to do this, as I may have speeded up this whole process.

You will find you will have good and bad days with this, according to your cycle. The important thing to remember is that you will get better, and the anxiety will go.

Like I said, see a doctor (preferably one that specialises in womens health, and therefore will not ignore your symptoms or disregard them).

A message for voicei...Hi, I've read your posts alot, and we have been leading very similiar lives for a long time it seems with all this (I too have posted alot). I just wanted to ask you how you have been once on the Agnus Castus...did any of your symptoms get worse before they got better? I have only been on it 10 days and on the whole have felt ok, but just wanted your thoughts about it so far...thanks.

Big hugs to all.

In Feb. '04, I had a kenalog shot in my arm for sinutitis, and had the similiar side effect of "pitting" or atrophy. After 16 months, the pitting is beginning heal (but not completely). Since the shot, I have had decreased energy for exercising (I am easily out of breath and can't sustain my running pace). A
physical last year revealed I had a slight heart murmur, which no one ever told me. I'm wondering if that is a side effect of the kenalog.

For the desperate boyfriend.....

Something similiar happened in my relationship when I was taking ortho tricyclen. I had a great boyfriend, but about a month into the pill I became very discontented with my relationship. So much so, I broke up with my boyfriend. After the breakup I stayed on the pill and I started having anxiety attacks about events that happened years earlier, and I started developing some obsessive behaviours. I stopped the pill, but not because of the side effects. You see, I wasn't aware that there was any. Those feelings I had about my relationship were very real to me at the time, and It's only in hindsight do I realize that those negative feelings were hormone induced. I got into another relationship and I decided that I was going to try a new pill, Ortho cyclen. Well, the same thing started happening! I became very discontented, and anxious - but this time I put it together and realized what was causing it, and stopped. Now I'm on Yasmin, and things are great. I'm back with the original guy that I broke up with - who incidentally is a saint for putting up with me.

These feelings your girlfriend has are very, very real to her. They may be justified, or they may be hormonal - There's no way to know. I just noticed similarities in our situations, and I thought you might like to know a different point of view.

Had an aching testicle...for unknown reasons. Doc put me on levaquin for 13 days...no symptoms. About a week after taking it developed a 102 fever (but only at night), aching joints, blood pressure went up, pulse increased, rapid weight loss (16 lbs in less then 3 weeks). Doc gave me another perscription for 30 days. Six days into it I called and complained of symptoms. Took me off it and ordered a blood test. All was normal except alkaline phosphatase (slightly elevated). Doc was concerned about the rapid weight loss saying that it is attributable to cancer however acknowledged none of this started till after I started taking levaquin. Now I'm going for a battery of tests. I'm 40, no health problems, no other meds, and was very active. Something shut me down! I hope this is the problem and I hope the reactions subside. Anyone similiar...especially with the weight loss?
