I to can say that Lisinopril has caused me to have the worst coughing ever. I work as a receptionist and sometimes I have to but the call on hold to be able to cough. This is terrible I spoke to my doctor and he just gave me a prescription for another medication. My sister in law told me as well that Lisinopril made her cough. I have not taken it for 3 days now trying to clear up before starting the new medication but I am still coughing from the it, hopefully it will stop soon as this is driving me crazy. I now find myself having this ugly white flem that at times when coughing spits out of my mouth. This is so terrible, doctors must tell you this when given you this prescription not after the fact. Good Luck to all.

My 18 year old daughter had a terrible allergic reaction to omnicef 2 weeks ago after a 10 day regimen. Sadly, it happened 2 weeks after my nephew had an allergic reaction to the same medicine. His situation did not end so well. He was taking the medicine for strep. The allergic reaction started with hives and got worse. After some aggressive research on my brother and sister-in-law's part, my nephew was diagnosed with an allergic reaction to omnicef followed by rheumatic fever. I should have refused the omnicef for my daughter, but who knew.
My daughter is 2 weeks into annoying hives that continue to pop up in different places. Her feet are swollen and we are very concerned. She has taken steroids, Kenelog cream, benadryl, as well as prescription strength antihistamines. Tomorrow she is going to see another doctor to find out what is going on. Cefdinir/omnicef is no longer welcome in our extended family.

This website is a joke! After I had my Mirena inserted 4 months ago I started reading on the internet about possible side effects. I was furious with myself that I hadn't Read up on this before the appointment. There were so many horrible reviews involving hair loss, weight gain, acne, and mood swings! I was so scared and actually thought about removing the Mirena that week. I then found multiple reviews on websites not owned and operated by other drug companies that are trying to scare people in order to prevent the sale and use of the Mirena and the side effects listed here were a 180 degree difference. I have not experienced any weight gain, in fact, I recently was able to shed 5 pounds from picking up running again (so it is possible to LOSE weight on the Mirena as well). I have had zero hair loss, have not had a pimple anywhere or any random hair growth. My live in boyfriend and I have discussed if we've noticed any mood swings or changes and my mood which is usually optimistic and positive has been the same since I had the Mirena inserted. My periods are much lighter and although they can last an extra day or two more than what I was used to, they are light and I have not had any cramping. I'm writing this review not because I absolutely love the Mirena, I think it's a fine form of BC but who LOVES their BC, isn't it all kind of a pain. The Mirena is by far the most convenient form of birth control and I don't worry at all about missing a day and the chance of getting pregnant. I'm writing this review because I encourage everyone to talk more with their doctors about the side effects and look around on the internet for REAL websites.

I have been on prednisone for 8 weeks, the first two at 40 mg., then 30. I have sarcoidosis and had a cough for several years, then shortness of breath, a fever for three weeks, very low energy, headaches every day, vision problems, mental fuzziness, fatigue, leg cramps, weight loss, a host of symptoms that were impacting my life. With the prednisone, I have had some jitteriness and occasional insomnia, though not bad. I have had increased energy, clearer mind, no cough, the sarcoid symptoms have almost disappeared. I do have increased appetite and have gained maybe 5 pounds. I occasionally have a day when I have low energy and am depressed, but most often, my energy is a lot better since taking the prednisone. So, for me, prednisone is most definitely NOT a devil drug. In fact, I believe that thinking of it this way is very harmful both to the person thinking that way and to others who come to this site looking for help. It is helpful to know that there are other people having similar problems to yours. But focusing on all the negatives without acknowleging the vast array of positives can only hurt. When I take the pills, I remind myself to be grateful that there is something that can help me fight the sarcoid. When I start being fearful of the side effects (from reading these internet sites), I remind myself of all the many people who have taken prednisone and gotten better and lived a long, good life as a result. My sister-in-law took it years ago for Crohns and loved it. My friend's daughter took it and had a few side effects, primarily the moon face, but it helped her and she now is as thin as ever and doing well. Focus on the positives, people! Where your mind goes, your body will follow. Be aware of the possible effects and work to offset them. Exercise, eat less, find reasons to laugh and be with people. It sucks to have any disease that would cause you to have to be on prednisone, but we are lucky to have medicine and people to help us. Be thankful for what is good in your lives.

hi i had the mirena put in me on april 30, 2009 and to be honest i really don't like it. when i start my period i bleed for about 20 something days and just recently for the past couple of days i have been bleeding just a little tiny bit its really nothing though. i should have started my period a couple of days ago... but with the mirena you don't really know when... anyways i went to the doctor on June 5, 2009 so she could check the mirena... guess what? she couldn't find the strings so i had to go get an ultrasound to make sure it was in the right spot which it was... my doctor told me that since my strings weren't there then it was going to be really hard to take it out... it hurt going in and im scared about how much it was going to hurt. i do have cramps from time to time... acne is bad mainly on my forehead. i want it taken out. i do have headaches at least once a day. heres some advice to any of you women who are thinking about getting the mirena... don't get it!!! My sister in law got the mirena but somehow it got lost in her uterus she got pregnant and had a little boy. the doctors were surprised that she didn't have a miscarriage because usually the mirena will cause a miscarriage. anyways the mirena came out of her because it was embedded into the placenta... again like i said if you want to save yourself trouble don't get the mirena!!!!

I had the mirena inserted Dec. 4. 2008. I't worked really well the first couple months i thought i really liked it. until a couple of weeks ago i started getting really dizzy i thought i would pass out. I also got really tingly in my feet and my arms the most. and i have gained a lil weight that i just can't seem 2 lose no matter what i do. i thought something was really wrong with me until i googled dizziness with mirena. just 2 see if that would have anything 2 do with my symptoms. and yes apparently it does. i called every doctors office in town and nobody believed me that it was the mirena doing this 2 me so they wouldn't remove it. so i'm having my sister in law remove it 4 me today since she's a nurse. i can't wait. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE 2 FEEL NORMAL AGAIN??????

I have been on 100 mg topamax for a few months now, and i was actually having people try my drinks bc i thought they was flat, and i would feel my fingers and my toes go numb and tingle. I honestly never thought for two seconds it was my medication. The only side effects i was warned about was weight loss (which hasn't occurred with me) and that i would be very thirsty, which i am. But i have NIGHTMARES about things im not even afraid of, and i have trouble spelling words i didn't before, and sometimes i can't even remember what i wore last week to school. Im starting to rethink this whole topamax thing, does anyone know any other prescriptions that will help headaches without the crazy effects?

i had the mirena inserted in sept of 2007 after m son was born. this was a good option for me because i can't remember to take pills regularly, and my OB said that she's seen people gain a ridiculous amount of weight with the shot...but i needed something that was going to be easy for me (and as a plus sized woman already, weight gain isn't an option). THIS was easy,. i had no problems...insertion was easy, bleeding stopped after about 5-6 weeks, and i haven't had a period since a couple months after that!

i was talking to my sitter (close friend of the family) and telling her how my hair has been falling out lately. i had chalked it up to stress at work, but she said her sister in law had the same problem, and that it was a side effect of the mirena. i started to think back, and i've always pulled a few hairs out after a shower, and it's gotten worse in the past year, but the last few months have been insane! i got out of the shower the other day and my hair had parted funny while i was drying it, so i was running my fingers through, and found about a quarter sized bald spot! after further inspection of my head, i found two smaller spots...very thin, but not completely smooth like this big one! i was horrified! and of course it's right on top of my head, just off the center...very difficult to hide unless i wear a ponytail...which then cracks the rest of my hair off! i can't win!

so then searching for other side effects i was unaware of, i find this site and a whole bunch of other stuff i've been experiencing, not relating it to mirena. i have no sex drive, my arms tingle at night (which had me thinking i was becoming diabetic), lack of patience and mood swings (which i blamed on my husband being an idiot), headaches (blamed these on the high blood pressure. why was this prescribed if i have high blood pressure?), leg pains (blamed this on the new shoes)...everything had its own excuse. but putting it all together...it's likely because of mirena!

i have my annual appt tomorrow, where i will be discussing this AT LENGTH with my OB/GYN.

I just came from my Dr. and he prescribed Singular for my allergies. He really convinced me to take it. So it's day 2 and I haven't taken it yet. I told my Dr. that the commercial on T.V. said a list of side effects that out weighed the symptoms of my allergies. This website has totally convinced me that I just threw away $135.00, cause I refuse to take a medication that has so many awful side effects. thanks for everyones input on this medication. and I hope for the best of luck with the people that are having such a difficult time with their medical problems.

Hey I see Im not the only one with problems that the doctors blam on other things!! I have always been so healthy UNTIL I had twins in Feb 06 and had Mirena put in Oct 06 and almost immediately started having side effects.I started to read up and realized the ones I had were all listed as side effects with it.The first side effects weren't that bad but OMG now I am horrible.I have so many side effects and am wondering if anyone is in the same boat??Mine are:weight gain, hair loss, facial hair, migraines, irritability, fatigue,NO sex drive, anxiety, depression, fluttering in my stomach, back and joint pain, pain during sex, stomach spasms, the list goes ON and ON, oh and lets not forget they say I have PCOS!! Now I wish they could tell me how I went from perfectly healthy to THIS!! I have been to 3 different docs and asked to have it removed but surprise surprise they all did not want to remove it and now I have NO insurance..I am to the point if I could take the thing out myself I would!! I am SOOO miserable and if I say I want it out who are they to tell me no?? Can anyone else relate?? I AM GOING CRAZY!!!

Well on 2-15-09 my sister in law died just shy of turning 39. She had severe depression, As of three years ago she began starving herself. She would go weeks without eating or drinking anything. She was in and out of the hospital through out the years. She started taking Lamictal six days prior to 2-15-09. The Dr. said she had made a mistake and wrote 100mg where it should had been 25mg. The doctor's later stated it didn't matter if they wrote 1mg it would have happened eventually.

Now we had called her on her birthday three days prior to 2-15-09, and she said the medication made her feel weird. That night she fell to sleep and did not wake up but for only a brief minute in the hospital. After being asleep for a day she was rushed to the hospital were a battery of test were run. She had begun to have liver failure and sepsis. The doctor's had her airlifted to a hospital four hours away where liver specialist were available. She arrived there and withing a few hours her lungs collapsed, her kidneys began to fail, and she had two heart attacks where she finally died at 11:10 pm on 2-15-09.

So I am here to make you aware. This is the side affect no one has talked about yet. Now she had no rash. She had weekend her system by not eating. Other than her depression she was OK. The doctor's don't know if she had an allergic reaction or not. The autopsy will be arrive in 40 days. With just some fatigue and weird feelings she continued to take the medication for the six days. I read on and on and I see so many symptoms, this would be a great time to evaluate with a profession because lets face it we really don't know the long term affects. It could be doing damage to your internal organs, or not. I feel if your body is showing you signs that are not normal than it is a good indication that your body is telling you that is cant tolerating it to well. So at least your getting the signs you might want to see what else is out there. As God is my witness we wanted her healthy and to not suffer so I really do have only good intentions for you all.

The funeral is today.

I am 20 years old and I had no fear about the Gardasil shot until I received my second shot. I had my first shot July 7, 2008 after my sister-in-law convinced me to have to. She swore by it. After I received the shot I immediately noticed that I was having headaches and nausea. I figured it was just a small side effect so I put it out of my mind. I was known for having migraines also. This was on my mother's birthday, I couldn't enjoy it with her. Later in the week I started becoming very ill and I thought it was due to stress and lack of sleep. I was working a night time job as a manager so the stress was normal for me. On Sunday, July 20, 2008 I went over to a friends house because I was depressed and needed to be with some on when I noticed the I had been getting dizzy. My friends boyfriend was giving me a ride home while he was smoking a cigarette and the smell made me feel very nauseated. I thought I was pregnant because my boyfriend and I had recently broken up not even a month before. After I got home all hell broke loose. I started vomiting. For the next 2 weeks I had been vomiting and I was not able to hold anything down. I couldn't eat and I couldn't drink anything. I was working full time while being sick. I had no energy at all. Finally, July 31, 2008 I was admitted into the hospital. I was complaining of stomach pains and a late period along with the nausea, severe heartburn, and exhaustion. After doing x-rays, blood work, and urine tests they came back and said I was not pregnant, but I was dehidrated. I was on a drip for 4 hours making me late to work. I finally was released from the hospital after lying to them telling them that I was feeling better. I felt worse than before. I went to work that night completely out of my mind because my boss refused to work for me. In weeks to come I started feeling better. I got my second shot September 12, 2008. Once again I immediately noticed a headache and nausea and this time I knew it was from the shot. I still didn't think much of it even after I heard about what the shot was doing to people. I noticed a red mark where the injection site was but I figured it was normal. I went through my weekend without a care in the world when I noticed on Sunday that I wasn't feeling well at all and I was starting to get another headache. This was on my brother's 23rd birthday so I put on a brave face and went through the night. I went to bed early. Last night I was sitting on the couch watching my favoraite show when I noticed I was getting another headache. I didn't want to say anything to my parents because there was nothing they could do about it. Later in the night I noticed my headache was getting worse with a sudden sore throat with no cold symptoms. I once again went to bed early. I woke up this morning with the same sore throat and headache only they were both worse following nausea. I was supposed to take a college placement test, but I had to cancel it for the second time due to being sick from the Gardasil shot. After I did that I came online and looked at possible side effects vs. side effects people are really having. Panicing I called a line called "My Nurse" and spoke with a nurse at my local hospital. She told me that since I am on birth control to try to regulate my period that it might have something to do with my headache. I told her about the times before when I was not on birth control and my hospitalization with the dehydration and headaches and she told me that I was the second person today calling and complaining about a headache after receiving the second shot. She informed me to try to take ibuprofin and if my headache was not gone within the next hour or two to go see my family doctor and ask him about the Gardasil and if I should receive my 3rd shot in January. So far it's been an hour and every time I swallow I feel like I'm going to vomit and my headaches only gotten worse since taking something for it. I will not be receiving my 3rd shot and I suggest to anyone who is getting the Gardasil to carefully consider it before getting it. I was perfectly healthy before receiving the shot and now I'm a mess.

Hi Guys

I am taking Yasmin since May 2006. I have been suffering from chronic daily headaches since March 2006 and wondered if Yasmin could be a factor in this? For my headaches I have tried so many different things and not been successful and hadn't looked at the possibility that Yasmin could be a problem until I started to google it. What do you guys think? Could Yasmin be adding to my problem of chronic daily headaches? Cos I have the headaches all the time.

Any responses would be greatly appreciated!

Regards
Warda

My daughter was born in August of 2007; when I heard about Mirena, I was really excited. My sister in law has the copper IUD and loves it. I thought the Mirena was basically the same thing but with a different name. Boy was I wrong. I had the Mirena inserted in March 14, 2008 and ever since then, I feel like my life is slowly falling apart. I have gradually gained 6lbs despite being an avid running and eating well. During my cycle (I tend to gain anywhere from 3-4 lbs of water weight). For the first month, I bled for about 14 day straight, which was not a good time (ruined lots of nice pairs of underwear).
The worst side effect, for me, has been the mood swings; I think I'm psycho; I want to kill my husband most of the time, the poor guy. I have ZERO sex drive, which is also a huge problem for my relationship, so if I keep going at this rate, I think I can blame Mirena for a divorce. Fortunately, I am having this thine REMOVED TODAY!! I cannot wait! I feel as though I was "talked in to" getting the Mirena because I orginally said I wanted an IUD with NO hormones; for some reason though, I left the office with this horrible product. Something needs to be done about this product!
The insertion was not horrible, but it wasn't fun either.
Mirena is the devil!!

Does anybody have anything GOOD to report about Mirena?

I got my mirena a week ago today. I'm not sure if i'm just being a Hypochondriac - or if I just have a lot going on in my life, but I feel that fog that other women are describing, and I swear I feel like i've gained 5 lbs in a week because i'm so bloated. ?? I scheduled a follow-up for exactly 2 weeks to discuss symptoms with my Dr. I'm scared now! I wish I read these reviews before I got the mirena!!

I've been a pill taker for twenty years (maybe more). I switched to loestrin FE in November. I realize that any bc takes the body some time to adjust but this has been pretty brutal. I gained 12 lbs and I cannot get it off no matter how much I work out and/or don't eat. I'm depressed too yet I have a beautiful life. My doctor says you sometimes need a year for your body to adjust to a new pill... I don't know if I can wait that long. My kids think I have lost my mind because I cry so much. I too think irrationally a lot more than in prior years. I will ask my doctor about this next week. It seems like this pill might have serious effects on the thyroid? Most of the symptoms described are also associated with hypothyroidism.

I love Yasmin! I've been taking it for over a year now (I'm 31). I have little to no pms, super light periods, perfect skin, and no weight gain from taking this. My only complaints would be that I do get mild, dull headaches in the temple areas of my head more often than I ever remember. They're not bad though, and they don't ever last long. They're just annoying. Also, I noticed my period doesn't show up til day 4 of the placebo pill, which can be a little nerve wracking.

My 3 close friends, 2 sisters and a sister in law of mine all take Yasmin and none of us have ever had any major complaints about it. :)

Hello- I am having my yearly physical tomorrow with my doctor. I am seriously considering having my Mirena removed. I have had it for 4 years now and thought that everything was going good. I have just been prescribed antidepressants for the third time in the four years. I was told that i like a lot of people cycle through a depression but now I am thinking that it is due to this. In the last year I found out that I have Crohn's disease. Could somehow this IUD have caused this? I wonder. In the last year i have gained 45lbs and cannot lose it no matter what. I have had no bleeding other than a little spotting now and then but nothing major. I do have headaches very often. I cannot believe that I was not told of these side effects when I had it inserted. My sister-in-law, who is now pregnant, plans use this birth control after she delivers. I will point her this way and let her know what I have learned. I am so glad that there are sites like this one. I will learn more about my birth control before I begin using any now. Thanks to everyone who has posted.

My son is 11 yrs old. I can not believe what I am reading. My son has been taking Singular for about 3 yrs for asthma and allergies. My son was always
happy and the most confident child I know, he did great in school. All of a sudden about 2 years ago everything has changed. He is always moody,
upset, has fits and argues about everything no matter where. My husband and I could not understand it, he was never like this. His grades have gone
down dramatically. One teacher told us she taught he had hearing problems
and that I should have him tested. We did last year and they said he had no
problem and that he needed his adenoids taken out that were swollen and compressing his ear drums so we had them taken out. I do not see a difference we still believe he has problems hearing at times we have even
kind of test him at home at times and he can not hear well, he has even
been talking very loud as if he had a hearing problem. His academics still
continue to drop. We taught this is just a phase he is going through.
Recently at school the teacher told me he might have ADHD and that maybe
I should put him on Medication. I refused !! You see I have a 16 yr old
that has ADHD and had all the symptoms from an early age. But my other
son never showed the signs he was alway attentive and did well in school.
He has been complaining of headaches and stomach aches we had him checked out and nothing we taught maybe he does not want to go to school
or wants attention. He is also depressed at times. My question is will this
go away when he stops taking this medicine. I have not given it to him since
3/21/08 that my sister in law told me about the news. I have an appointment
with his doctor next week. I feel so horrible for not even considering that this
medication might be the problem.

I have a 12 year old son who has been on Singulair off and on since he was 10 years old. It wasn't until he started taking Singulair on a daily basis in 2007 that I saw a change in his personality. I thought it was due to him starting Junior High. He has always been a loving and mild manner kid.

He started having strong mood swings. Yelling, crying, back talking and being very rude and hateful. Then he would go through periods of depression. He wanted to sleep all the time. Wouldn't come out of his room for days.

He complained of Headaches and Stomachaches all the time. He said he had bad dreams and he couldn't sleep.

He even told his dad at Halloween he wish he could be like his costume (which was a skelton) DEAD!! Hearing those words come from my child's mouth broke my heart. Knowing that he could feel such sorrow and pain.

It wasn't until I read the Singulair article that things started making sense to me. I can't believe as a parent that I was giving my child a medication that could have caused him to take his own life. You could imagine how I feel right now. I stopped giving the Singulair. I'm hoping that he will go back to the loving and happy kid he was before this medication took over his body and mind.

And it's not only my son...My nephew who is 6 has been on Singulair for 2 years and he has become very emotional. He has outburst of anger and he is very short tempered. He has bad dreams and cries for no reason. I shared the information with my Sister-In-Law and she stopped the Singulair as well.

I hope my story helps all you parents that haven't heard the truth about Singulair yet. Be Safe!

I can not believe I found this web-site. I honestly felt like I was going crazy and that this was in my head. I was prescribed Levaquin for a sore on my finger to fight infection. I was taking 750mg every morning, once a day. The morning of the 8th day, I woke up and felt like I had been ran over by a truck. I felt foolish telling my family even the "back of my knees hurt." By the evening of that day, after laying in bed for just 45 minutes, I couldn't put down my right leg or put any pressure on it. I haven't taken the Levaquin for 24 hours now and it still hurts to try to open doors because my hands are so cramped. Does anyone else feel dizzy? All of sudden I just won't beadle to focus and my head hurts, only last a few seconds, but it is definitely there. Does anyone feel they have long term pain or affects of this drug? This is unbelievable that so many of us fell this way. Just yesterday I was at the doctor because of the pain. He instructed my to stop taking the Levaquin and told me, he has never hear of anyone feeling this way, but it is listed as one of the side effects and is very rare. Apparently it isn't that rare!! Glad I found you guys.

My sister-in-law started taking Advair about 6 months ago and since then she has been going down hill. From Dec. 20 2007 to today 1/16/08 she has been hospitalized 3 times. First time for pneumonia. Second time for swelling of ankles, feet and belly. Also serious diarrhea. Third time for difficulty with breathing and continued swelling of feet, ankles and abdomen. I am beginning to suspect Advair.

I took the horrible drug for five weeks. I have been to the doctor 3 times. They gave me anti-biotics and said I had brochitis. I have a terrible sounding cough and mucus, I missed over two weeks of work and sent alot of money on medicine. I stopped taking Lisinopril 10 days ago, I feel better but not 100%. My doctor says that if will take a while for the cough to go away. I so mad because I really believed I was dying and took chest x-rays and a TB test. My boyfriend has been giving my dirty looks, and guess he think he going to catch somethimg This medicine has ruined my summer and my vacation, because I'm afraid that I will gave a coughing attack so I stay close to home or if I do go out I keep cough drops and cough syrup in my purse. I feel like a drug addict.

My sister in law has been taking topamax for at least two years now for migraines, I think 50mg a day. She has developed serious issues, which she nor her doctors believe is from the drug. She has back pain, moodiness, sleeplessness, extreme muscle cramping. Most recently, her legs have become extremely swollen, larger than any pregnant woman I have ever seen. The skin on her feet is breaking open and peeling. The doctors can't find the cause, but I think it is the topamax. Has anyone else had this swelling?
