i have just been reading this site and god am i glad, i took Yasmin for two months and came off as my boyfriend said i was being really nasty, i was also suffering with side affects. But i spoke to the doctor and they said to try and last it out as i have skin problems and she said it would help, so i continued to take it. But within one week in taking it side effects seem worse!! I have now two days left and decided not to finish the pack. The side affects are scary i thought there was something wrong with me . They include ...
* Moodiness*no energy*Pale*tired*muscle pain in legs, arms, hands, neck and the bottom of my back*Very sore tender breasts*no sex drive*thrush & dryness*needing to wee more often*Strange heart beats*itching more often everywhere!!
And there are probably more, im just hoping i loose all the side affects as quickly as possible.

I had a Mirena IUD placed at my follow up appointment after my second child in November of 2004. I feel that I have had excellent results from this form of birth control. The strings disappeared after I had it in for about a year. They had to do a few sono's to see if it was still in place. It was but I had developed an ovarian cyst that didn't go away. I ended up getting it surgically removed and found out that this is a side effect of Mirena. the cyst caused me no pain and the only reason I knew it was there is because of the sono's. I will not have surgery again unless it is highly recommended by my doctor. I just had a new one placed this month. It was more painful to place than I remembered it being. The cramping lasted for almost 24 hours. I have had no periods since before my youngest son was born....he's 5 now. I have had it for so long I don't know if the problems that I have are related to Mirena. I am obese. I have been obese my entire adult life so that is nothing new. I do have a hard time losing weight but I don't believe it has anything to do with Mirena. My hair is thicker since starting Mirena. I do have some skin problems but most of them have been with me for more than 10 years (seborrheic dermatitis and rosacea). I have a history of depression...so nothing new there. I have varicose veins...a result of my obesity, heredity, and working on my feet all the time w/o support hose. I am 34 years old, married, and do not plan to have any more children. I plan to continue using Mirena until menopause. I am EXTREMELY SATISFIED with Mirena and I am sorry for those of you that are having problems with it. I hope you find a method of birth control that works for you. Sexual freedom is a nice thing for a woman to have.

I would really appreciate any feedback for my question which is HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE BEFORE I FEEL NORMAL AGAIN after having Mirena removed... I had it removed around 4 months ago and my periods are sort of back to normal and i thought after i got my period back (well i presumed) that the hormones or whatever it is in the mirena would have gone... BUT.... I still don't feel my old self.. I have had massive skin problems since the Mirena was inserted and even though it is out i still have massive skin problems... The doctors refuse to believe that its from the Mirena and have tested me for EVERYTHING but surprise... They don't know what is wrong with me... My skin flares up before I am due and lasts the whole week that i have my period... I am just wondering how long it can take for this thing to get completely out of my system ..

I was give Levaquin when I had a Prostate Biopsy and had a reaction to it , Hives, muscle pain oral thrush ,I told the doctor about it so he gave me another anti biotic,CIPRO which made things worse, then I find out they are both from the same family of antibiotics, these doctors don't know what they are giving you and he said all that I should have gotten from them was a little stomach problem, Its two years now and I still have skin
problems, joint pain and pain in my neck amd the doctors say it can't be from the Levaquin, Well how come I was healthy until I took it

I haven't gotten the Mirena put in yet but am terrified! I heard such bad things & then I found this site & I just want to get my tubes tied now. I am 24 and my fience is 30. We are trying to be responsible and not get pregnant until we feel we are ready and in the right place in our careers to support a child the way we never were. I did wonderful on Depo (no weight gain, hair loss, skin problems, nothing) but was taken off it due to the potential of lowered bone density after being on it for 10 years. I tried Ortho & Ortho-lo and both of them made me have bad mood swings, headaches, and I gained 17lbs. I tried Seasonique but that made me have migraines and the worst cycles of my life. I just got switched to a Progestin only pill that is supposed to be similar to the Depo but I can't take the every day same time pill thing. I can never find a good time to work with. The MIRENA has been on my mind for a year now and I just want the real honest straight up facts...not the doctor version. Please help me!

My neurologist put me on Prednisone for cluster migraines. I started with 80 mg for 2 days, 60 mg/2, 40mg/2,20mg/2. It was so effective at keeping the cluster attacks from coming. I was so thankful to finally have something to stop the attacks. I have suffered with CH for 20 years and other than pain medication to abort an attack I never had anything that worked as a preventative. After taking the prescribed dosage I stopped taking the Prednisone. My neurologist warned me that this drug can be very effective short term but I would not want to have prolonged use because of the side effects. Unfortunately, when I stopped taking it my cluster migraines came back full force. So I went back on taking 20 mg daily. That was a BIG mistake. At first I was euphoric, on a constant high. I had so much energy even though I would only get about 4 hours sleep because my mind was racing from 2:00 am into the early morning hours. I would wake up with night sweats and needing to urinate 3 times per night. My face got puffy, I had terrible heartburn, increased thirst and a decreased appetite. My family was watching me wizz around like the Tazmanian Devil wondering why I was acting so bizarre. I thought I was seeing things so amazingly clear! The worse part of all is the itchy, red rash that started on my elbows, then knee caps. It has now spread up and down both arms and legs. I went to see my GP and I told him that I have never had any skin rash like this before. Could it be the Prednisone causing it? He of course said it was unlikely because Prednisone is used to clear up skin problems. Now having stumbled on to this site I realize that it must be the Prednisone doing this to me. I am unfortunately going to have to suck up the pain of the migraines and let them run their course until they leave me for a few years. I'm so disappointed that Prednisone isn't going to be the cure after all.

What terrible side effects some of you are having. So far i have been fortunate not to have experienced any of them. However, i was wondering if anyone has developed any skin problems such as severe itchy, blistering rashes on your hands?
Please let me know

Hi There :)
I went to the doctor 2 days ago and was prescribed alesse, but the pharmacy gave me aviane instead, as my mom's health insurance only covers generic brands. Now I have a 3 month prescription sitting in front of me, and after reading about all of these negative experiences, I don't know what to do! this is my first pill (I'm 17 - 18 soon) and I really don't want any negative side effects. My main reasons for going on the pill were skin problems, and that I have horrible cramps that put me out of commission for 1-2 days every month.

I started off taking Tenormin 50 mg 1 x a day and Lanoxin 25 mg 1 x a day about 21 years ago. I continued to have constant palps and skipped beats even though I was on these meds. I wound up developing vertigo after about 5 years that got so bad I had it daily. I ended up with severe sinus problems and was given a cortisone packet of pills (the kind that decrease each day you take them) to take. The vertigo left for 6 months, coming back again with a vengeance. I begged the docs to put me back on cortisone pills again, once more helping to stop the vertigo. However, at the same time I also stopped the Lanoxin. ??? I totally believe that Lanoxin was part of the problem causing the vertigo. I now only have it from time to time, maybe only a few times a year. I still blame the Toprol that I now take for the left-over vertigo. I was taken off of the Tenormin after about 10 years of taking it and put on the Toprol at that time and have been on the Toprol xl for the last 11 years. The docs said that I needed to be on Toprol XL, as it was an extended release and would help me much more around the clock. I did not notice much difference throughout the switch, but looking back I do believe that a lot of the things that I have been dealing with through the years are side-effects of the medicines. I have had irritable bowel syndrome, told I have fybromyalgia, then told I did not have fybromyalgia, hip and back pain, skin problems on one of my hands that started with the Toprol, headaches, tiredness, horrible weight-gain (without overeating!! Honestly.), I have averaged 5 lbs. a year and the docs never even listen to me when I voice my concerns, I have been diagnosed with anxiety, joints ache, ankels, feet, face and hands swell, stomach bloats something terrible, acid reflux, hiatial hernia, and I had a tumor removed that could have been a problem off my rectum (who knows what caused it), I have had CTs and MRIs of my head, twice, for the vertigo and what I was told was probably psuedo-tumor cerbri (because of months of severe headaches), told by my eye doctor that he wonders if I have beginning MS, everything came back fine and things seem to resolve and go into something else. I have been passed from my general physician, to a cardiologist, to a ENT, and a neurologist. No one can ever find anything physically wrong, but they did conclude that I definitely had benign positional vertigo. LOL, that means they could not tell me why I had it. I put a stop to testing when they wanted to do the spinal taps.

Now I am experiencing tightness around my lower rib-cage and feel as though I am sucking for breath, I have a terrible time falling asleep at night, I wake up gasping and swearing that I am dying. My rib-cage is numb around my right side, not so much the left side when I lay down to go to sleep at night. After a few bouts of this I finally fall asleep and sleep all night most times. My blood pressure is now on the rise 150/99 at the highest. I have been working out lately with a few positive effects, more energy, more endurance, less aches and pains, muscles are starting to tone up, however, no weight loss. I thought my bp was starting to lower, but found out it was actually up. I went to my family doc and she listened to me really good, realized at last that I was not shedding the weight despite the efforts I was making. She cut my toprol to 25 mg 1 x a day and put me on lisinopril, I did not tolerate the lisinopril so she switched me to dyazide, lowest dose 1 x a day. I have great positives ...no more swelling, weight loss, lower bp, HOWEVER, I am now having jitters, anxiety (somewhat), no appetite at all, a few muscle spasms in my arms and legs, nothing painful or severe, dizziness, slight headache that comes and goes especially through my eyes. I am also experiencing coughing, and raspiness...but I am also coming out of a bout of bronchitis, which got really bad with the lisinopril. I believe it is partly due to the meds.

I called my doc today to tell her about the twitching and buzzing feeling and to ask about the dyazide. My feelings are that I am experiencing a lot of different things, first the bronchitis, and all the meds I was taking for that...albuterol, musinex, tylenol w/codeine, and biaxin, then the decrease of my toprol xl, the bad effects of lisinopril (coughing and raspiness), and now starting the new drug dyazide (generic form). I really want this to all settle down and work out for the best, but it is getting to me now (after 2 weeks). Last Saturday I would up in the ER with shooting pains through my chest that left me very pale and lightheaded when it happened as well as very tight throug my chest and sucking for air. The ER did chest xray, chest CT w/contrast, bloodtests, urine test, bp's sitting, standing and lying down (it is highest while sitting), everything came back good. No heart attacks, no blood clots, no bronchitis anymore, nothing. Blood work was good, urine was good. I am beginning to think that perhaps my body is reacting to cutting the Toprol xl in half. Sort of a withdrawal. There is really nothing else it can be and I really don't think that the dyazide is that bad of a drug and probably not causing all of my problems now, maybe just a part. Which are the tingling, dizziness, anxiety, twitching, and coughing. I have only had 3 of the dyazide medication. But have read that withdrawal symptoms of Toprol can cause these problems for a while. I am also thinking that the shooting chest pains last week were also withdrawal of the Toprol as it had been 1 week at that point that it had been cut in half.

Any opinions, if anyone can make heads or tails of anything that I have wrote. Sorry for the length and if it is confusing.

I have been on Toprol XL or the generic for over seven years. After the first two months on it I started to notice small, scaly patches appearing on my hands and arms. I was told this was just a coincidence. I had the areas biopsied and was told it was Granuloma Annular. Whatever?? Apparently there is no cure. I have never had any skin problems in my life and I,m sixty seven years old. I also noticed I,m constantly fatigued, cough constantly, still have heart palpitations and seldom get a good nights sleep. I,ve tried to get the doctor to discontinue it or put me on something else and they all act like they are afraid to try it. I,ve been tested and was told my PVC,s are benign, so why the concern? I just want to get off this stuff.

Ive been using YAZ for almost a year now and before reading all these side effects from other women I thought i was falling apart at the age of 24.

Since ive been on YAZ these symptoms have occurred:

Some weight gain, Eyesight from great to HORRIBLY nearsighted, discharge, periods sometimes are twice a month and is a brown gross color, migraines, terrible skin problems: like blisters on my face & neck that crust over and last for weeks, GI problems right before my period, Severe Fatigue, pussy blisters under my armpits, numbing in my fingers and toes, very itchy skin, random sex drives (for months there will be no sex drive then one month ill have a very high sex drive), very mild mood swings (but noticeable), and ive become allergic to deodorant & sulfa drugs.

Before using this BCP : i had great skin, perfect eyesight, athletic & energetic, normal periods, and was never allergic to anything.

Ive had so many doctors visits to try to figure out what was wrong.... i got allergy injections, antibiotics, surgery options...........but no doctor could really tell me what was causing it and its very frustrating to have so many things go wrong and no one can tell know why or how to fix it!. Anyways, im going to call my OB/GYN TOMORROW......

I'm in my 5th month of taking Yasmin, and in my 4th month I developed rashes on my face and all over my body. They look like inflamed skin with heads of pus, and very itchy. I first thought it was some severe skin reaction unrelated to the pill because I've taken bc before (ortho-tricyclen) for many years and that never happened. But after reading this forum, I think the cause is Yasmin. I've never had any skin issues like this before, and what's worse is that my immune system has been weakened and I got a bad flu-like illness with high fever in my 4th month of taking this pill. In fact, I'm experiencing my second rash reaction right now, and I'm in my 5th month. This time I'm heaving as well. I think I will stop this drug tonight. I'm so glad you are sharing your experiences on this forum because reading this helped me figure out why I've been so sick. From what I'm hearing, this drug is awful! Nobody should risk taking it because it is even worse than high dose pills, in my experience.

Yes I too have been noticing recent disabilities regarding brain function. Ive only been on lamictal for 5 mths and there has been remarkable improvement for its intentional purpose but I feel like such a dumbass.
I am a 4.0 student who is obsessed with A's and have been on the deans list for 3 yrs. However, recently I cant spell, take notes without immediately forgetting what my professor said, loose my point, or like just now, I completely forgot what I was trying to say. I have trouble speaking and finding the right words and its extremely difficult to think through anything because I loose what it is I was previously thinking! GGGRrrr.... Does that make any sense?

I am however seriously relieved to find I am not the only one having these issues and that its not mental regression or lack of intelligence.

Also, since being on Lamictal I have never experienced any skin problems, but 3 days ago I started tanning (which I know is already horrible for you) and today I have red blotches between my chest and on my back. These are places I normally burn a little bit when I start tanning again, but now there are welps and they burn and itch like crazy. Does anyone know if UV exposure causes this in Lamictal patients? Could it also possibly be a reaction to the tanning lotion?

Thanks
Itchy in Houston

I have been taking 200 mg. of Lamictal (now Lamotrigine) for 5 years. I have had cognitive issues for probably about three years at least. Memory loss, sudden loss of flow in conversation, completely forgetting words and the spelling issue which was previously impeccable. It's embarrassing and frightening. I can't get through ANY given day without losing my belongings over and over again. I feel disabled (seriously) and I jokingly tell people I need an "aide". The scariest thing was last week I was going to return an item to the store and COMPLETELY forgot my PIN # for my debit card. I have been using the card nearly daily for a year and a half!!! It panicked me but I thought of course I would remember it later. NOT!!! Never again, it's gone!!! That's when I decided to search the internet for "severe memory loss" and came upon this blog. I didn't even think of the Lamictal. And I pride myself on my thorough research!!! Certainly the doctor never mentioned this side effect and I just gave it up to being 49!!! A little early for Alzheimer's!!!

The funny thing is I have also had skin problems (acne) for the first time in my life the past couple of years with it really getting bad last summer. I weaned myself off the Lamictal b/c I had read it could cause acne (another thing the doctor never told me). Well, I was completely weaned and omg, the mood issues were severe!!! So reluctantly I titrated back up to the 200 mg dose and immediately my mood was stabilized.

I don't know what the h--- to do, but something needs to change. The memory thing is terrifying!!! No wonder I am having so many problems with my job!!!

Maybe a new med, maybe not . . . My main issue was severe depression (both situational and chronic) which Lamictal seemed to stabilize. Do the benefits outweigh the side effects??? I think NOT . . .

I feel so grateful to have come across this website, I had mine inserted almost exactly 2 years ago and I take responsibility for the fact that I did not do adequate research at the time but relied on by gynae...I have never really experienced side effects from any medication I have been on so I though this would be the case with the mirena as well...well not so...

I too have battled incredibly to lose my weight since the birth of my son in Jan 2007, despite the fact that I have NEVER been this healthy in all my life, have been running now for the last 6 months and just recently completed a half marathon - so its not like I'm just being a lazy bones, have also given up my chocolate fetish since his birth.

The worst has been my skin problems. Not only to I have acne ALL the time, there is never a day that I do not have a pimple, they are deep-seated pimples which are swollen and hurt like small boils.

Also experience bloated tummy and thought it was too much carbs, have gone a more natural diet route where I avoid combining carbs and proteins and still my tummy is bloated...

Itchy feet drives me crazy, no amount of scratching relieves it!

Low sex drive...definitely

Also aggressiveness which is not like me at ALL to the point where in the last couple of months I have really considered going to seek medical advice.

It now all makes so much more sense and I will be making that appointment to have it EXTRACTED ASAP!!!!!

I have been on Loestrin 24 Fe for 2 years and it is the best BC for me! I am a newlywed and our sex life is great! Previously I had tried OrthoTriCyclen Lo and Yaz. Both did not work for me at all!!!! I felt awful with both, especially Yaz. On Loestrin 24 Fe I might have a very short period or sometimes I do not even have a period at all and it is amazing! My doctor said that is okay and normal. I love Loestrin! It has saved me a whole lot of pain that I used to go through once a month. I had the worst cramps and bleeding in the world. I would have to go to bed I was so sick and take tons of alieve and ibuprofen. Now I take nothing but my multivitamin in the mornings! I feel great. Actually I just went to Disney World and my period was due, but I felt great and didn't even have a period!!!!!!!!!!!! INCREDIBLE! Life has changed for the better. I hope you all can give it a try. I will forever be thanking my OBGYN!

I wish I had never tried Yasmin. Spider veins; increased pigment on my face, leaving me with dark splotches; daily nausea, which became much worse if I got slightly off schedule. I've been off the pill for more than a year and the skin problems caused by Yasmin have not gone away. Worse yet was the low sex drive, vaginal dryness, and bad vaginal pain. I'm worried that I won't be the same as I was before.

I had a Mirena inserted October 2007. I had it removed in October 2008. I am SO GLAD I had it taken out!!!! When the device was in my body, I had instant weight gain. 5 pounds the first two weeks. Put on a total of 10 in about 3 months. I was working out liek a fiend!! I even did two a day cardio sessions for a month and did the Special K diet with it. Couldn't lose a pound. It was awful.

I had horrible acne. Not just on my face. On my scalp, my back, really gross on my neck. I even had occasional zits on my legs. AND I have DRY skin.

I had no sex drive. And just felt generally in a funk and had frequent headaches. I still had weird sludgy periods at irregular intervals. It just wasn't right. It was a grey mucky color. It was thick. I had never had a single yeast infection in my life until Mirena. I can't tell you how awful this thing is.

Since having it removed a little over a month ago, things have gone back to normal. My face cleared up in a week. I just feel better. I lost about 2 lbs. of water weight the first week. I have since lost another 3 that just slipped off (I cardio about 30 min. 5 times a week and lift weights 3 times a week, but that's not new. It is my routine with or without Mirena.). My husband even commented the other day how much healthier I looked.

DO NOT PUT THIS THING IN YOUR BODY!! My new GYN said to me, "If I won't do it to my wife, my mother & my sister, I won't do it to my clients." He doesn't recommend Mirena and won't use it except in very rare cases. He said if you have one you're unlikely to have your pap come back normal as long as it is in because of the strings. Really, don't listen to the sales pitch. These devices are high profit items for the Doctor's so that's why we women are getting the big sales pitch on them. Don't fall for it!!!

I am a 50 year old woman and have been taking Lipitor for about the last 6 months. I have developed a severe case of eczema on my scalp as well as hair loss. Also I have been having pain in my hips. I never would have attributed my symptoms to Lipitor, but now I am thinking that maybe Lipitor is the cause of them. Also I read in some of the comments that it may be connected to memory loss. I have noticed I have a hard time remembering things too but never thought it could be related to taking Lipitor.

I've had the Mirena inserted Oct 2007, it has been a year and a couple of months now and this has not been a good experience at all. I received the Mirena due to having very heavy periods associated with severe cramping (not for a form of birth control). My regular periods before this insertion would only last 7 days and all would be gone. I got this to reduce cramping and get lighter better periods but ended up receiving much worse! Now, I have been having much more cramping, mood swings, acne out of control (face now feels like sandpaper) never had acne-skin problems in my life, and the bleeding has never stopped! It has gotten lighter but it has been a year and some months and no stopping! Constantly buying panty liners...tampons etc. My doctor advised me to take another medication to help control my bleeding which was Premerin and to no end reading up on that medication just floored me! All the warnings about blood clotting, heart problems, cancer OMG! I will be having this removed very soon. I rather just deal with the 7 day pain and heavy bleeding then to go through all of this...

So basically this is my story.. I am 19 and have had severe asthma every\ since I can remember. I took prednisone up until I was 14, and from what I can remember I just stopped taking it around then. Then when I was about 18 I started up again because my asthma got worse. Between the time period of 14-18 I still had asthma, but started working out and became very active and healthy.I lost alot of weight had VERY THICK long hair. Then at 18 I got very sick and my doctor put me on prednisone knowing my asthma history. After being on it for a month my hair has become thin, I have gained weight, my face has rounded, my skin used to get tan very easily but now just flushes. I have headaches all the time, can't sleep at all during the night, then crash during the day. I am constantly depressed. I always have to pee. I can't be at the gym for more than 30 mins and then I just die im so tired. I can go on and on. I have tried so many time to get off but like I have read from the above comments,I become very sick and lazy I literally can't move. But what I need answers for, and what I was wondering, has anyone started to get hives/rash after coming off or being on prednisone. Every time I try to wean off of it I get them all over my legs!! NOTHING and I mean NOTHING makes them go away except when I start up prednisone again. My doctor thinks its okay and no other doctor can figure out why im getting these hives but its so obvious its from that because when I go back on it goes away. This is not a good medication to be on. I haven't seen hair loss as one of the major side effects but has that happened to anyone else. im praying to god i can wean of this drug if anyone knows anything pleaaaase let me knowwwwwww

I am on the third pack of Femcon, switched from Ortho Tri-Cyclen because my periods were too long. I can't say I have any major side effects, no depression, no wackiness etc., One that I do have is breast tenderness, my boobs blew up like balloons and I do have major skin/chin problems that no dermatologist can help me with for the last few weeks. I couldn't figure it out what it was from but I think it might be from the pill. Never had any skin problems, acne and all of the sudden my chin breaks out badly, not pimples more like under the skin red bumps. Anyone with the similar problem???? HELP.

So far I haven't seen anything in regards to my symptoms with Yasmin.

After going the past two years and having only two periods, I was diagnosed with PCOS. My Gyno told me that the only way I would be able to have a period, and delay the harmful side effects of this disorder would be to go on Yasmin. I agree that my mood swings the 1st month were terrible. I almost punched my own mother in the face because I didn't like one of her jokes. That's not me. But that is something common with BC. They are hormones your body takes in to regulate your cycle. And because my body doesn't' regularly produce the hormones needed for menses, I expected mood swings. The catastrophic depression and PMS were the main reasons I stopped taking the pill years ago.

My problem is a bit different. I haven't gained weight. As a matter of fact, I think I've lost a bit. My problem is my skin. Before the pill, I had flawless skin. It was always really sensitive, but because I was cognizant of this fact, I took every preventative measure to ensure its healthy appearance. But now my skin in a mess. I have a rash spreading all over my body. My eyelids have a hard crushed rash of skin folding over, and my under-eyes are the same way. All across my face, I now have raised red patches of skin that burn, and the only change I've made to my daily care regimen is popping that little pill every night. The rash is now spreading to my shoulders and a bit on my legs.

Has anyone else developed skin problems, or could this all just be coincidental in my case?

October 3, 2008...went to doctor and received a Kenalog shot..because 20 years ago I had started with spots on my arms and foot. Of course I have diabetes Type I (25 years today). Also I have been born deaf too. :)
So the first time I have taken a shot. The skin problems i have called is gluc (spelling?) anoroma (I can't spell) anyway. This year few of them came back on my feet. It seems so long time I haven't studied them and I asked my sister about them, She sent to me about website. To see internet about treatment called Kenalog...I feel want to try one. I hope not to see any side effect or more spots come back on my arms and feet.
if you know about this, please tell me about them.
Thanks.

I had mine inserted the first week of July. Yes, it was freaking uncomfortable getting it done and I had cramping the rest of the day, but my OB warned me of that and I made the decision to go ahead. I'm not in a position to complain about it now.
I bled/spot for 2-3 weeks after insertion. Only heavy enough to require a tampon for the first week, but I had it inserted when I was supposed to be starting my period anyway. Again my OB suggested this and warned me about the possibility of bleeding for up to 6 months. Again my decision to go forward!
Since then I have had cramping once a month like I'm going to start my period and never do. Within the last few weeks I've started getting the acne and an oily scalp. It's all over my back and not poppable. I'm hoping it will eventually subside when my body gets used to the new hormone level I'm giving it. If you think about it, it's the same thing in puberty (ie change in hormones) that kicks off the acne so it doesn't surprise me that this is a side effect. If it doesn't subside I'll make a decision then whether or not to have it out.
I have not had any of the other side effects. In fact I had terrible headaches and neck pain before I got this and those have gotten much better.

I was on the pill for 15 years before getting mirena and I had much worse side effects with that (extreme moodiness, loss of sexual desire, bad cramps, long periods, etc). I tried multiple brands of pills and never found one I was 100% happy with. But I dealt with it because I made the decision to go on B/C.
I'll take the acne over those any day! (not to mention I got pregnant on the pill!!!)

I understand that these side effects suck, but you act like it's the company's fault. They specifically list the common side effects and the majority of the ones you're complaining about are listed in plain site Taken directly from their website:
Menstrual changes
Lower abdominal pain (cramps)
Acne or other skin problems
Back pain
Breast tenderness
Headache
Mood changes
Nausea
Ovarian cysts have been diagnosed in about 12% of Mirena® users. In most cases, the enlarged follicles disappeared spontaneously during two to three months of observation.

Did you think that's just for show? Did you ever stop to consider (before getting the product) you might actually get those side effects and what you would do if you did? It is your body... YOU are the only one responsible for what goes inside it. No one held you down and forced you to do this. Mirena didn't hide anything from you or trick you into it. Take some responsibility for your actions! Quit blaming others. This is a great example of what is wrong with our society today!

Take responsibility! Do your research! Make your own decisions and deal with the consequences of them without blaming others!

If you look at the mirena website it gives you the FDA number to call to report side effects. If you're having major ones call the FDA and report it so that more than just people that stumble upon this forum know about it!
