hi guest 36372,
i set up the new forum precicely so that people could chat and carry on personal correspondance and leave this site for posting factual information and personal stories as well as seekng advice as i agree that the site has become very hard to find answers from if you are a newcomer. i have been "advertising" daily to keep the link where regular visitors and newcomers can see it because it was only set up on friday and many people are not aware of it yet,as time goes on it will not be necessary to post the link. we have quite a few members already. i am sorry if this has offended you in any way but a lot of ladies on here just need some support and understanding and maybe just someone else that understands how they are feeling to chat too. i do not make any money from the new site,it is not a business it is just something i wanted to do to help people who want help and understanding. i am glad that the information you have found in the guests long postings have helped you, that is precisely the point of this site,if you want to chat about what you have discovered then please come to the new site. i won't post the link as it is on this page already.
I thought that a new site was needed to share personal experiences instead of clogging up this page, kind of like a yasmin support group...as the TV advert says it's good to talk!
once again,i wish you all the best,if you find out anything that could help all the other ladies please post it here and the new forum,we should all be doing as much as we can to help each other get through this nightmare.
Oh and in answer to your question about the chest pain,i get that too, especially before my period, sometimes it goes into my shoulder too and i feltl i am having a heart attack! my pulse races for a while then calms down but skips a few beats here and there,i had an ecg done and was told everything was fine,it was just anxiety, but my doctor would say that as he does not believe that yasmin caused any of my problems anyway. There are lots of reasons why your heart may feel this way but no definative answers,it is all if's but's and maybe's. it could be to do with dehydration, could be to do with lack of magnesium or it could be a surge or lack of the correct hormone peaking at the correct time. the truth is only time will tell, hopefully it will start to improve soon.
best wishes.
sarah

I am using Lupron for treament of prostate cancer. I have had radiation and radioactive seeds. I get hot flashes, joint pain is almost unbearable and skips around all over my body. I am tired most of the time and today, it even settled in my hands and wrists to where I can't pick up a glass. I am supposed to be on this medication for 1 to 2 years. I don't know if it is worth it or not.

After reading this (I have been taking 25 mg. of Lisinopril for three years or more), I'm beginning to question whether or not it is right for me.
I have begun having strange side effects that match many of those written about here. Odd tension in my neck; occasional breathlessness; fatigue; cough; heaviness in the chest that is NOT related to my heart; inability to lay on my left side without discomfort; and this very annoying sensation as my heart "skips" (actually an extra beat) which started a week ago and has not left yet.
On top of everything else, now my blood pressure is very occasionally SPIKING.....the night before, it might be 137/72, then I wake up and it's an astounding 189/105!! If this drug is supposed to LOWER my blood pressure, why is it swinging so wildly?
The doctor's answer? He is pushing hard to get me to try beta blockers, actually arguing that at lower doses, I probably won't have the associated risks! That is pure garbage! If you take a beta blocker and then suddenly discontinue it without weaning off, or miss a dose, you risk a HEART ATTACK or a severe STROKE!!
Drugs, drugs, drugs.....there's got to be a better way. I'm looking for it right now.

This may answer alot of questions. I've been using neosynephrine for 40 years. One to two bottles a week. Started with 1/2%, I think that's what it was, and graduated in no time to 1%. I've never been able to get off for more than a couple of days. I have had a skipping heartbeat for 33 years, which may or may not be due to the neo. Sometimes is skips pretty steady, and other's just occasionally. I had a stress test last week that came back positive, and went for a heart cath. It showed no blockage whatsoever, so it was a false positive. Due to all this, I decided to stop last Wed., so I diluted my nosedrops in half with Saline Nasal solution. Since about the 3rd day, Sat., I have had all kinds of symptoms, including low blood pressure, fuzzy in the head, and not able to think straight. Today it is mainly the fuzzy in the head. Almost like you're somewhere else looking in. I will continue to try and get clear off, if anyone knows anythink else about getting off, would appreciate knowing the symptoms.

I recently posted about having tons of heart flutters while taking Yasmin. They have stopped for the most part but I am still experiencing skips once and a while. I agree that if you focus too much on it, it can sometimes make it worse. I am slowly starting to feel better and I know it's because I'm not taking that dumb pill anymore!

I hate prednisone. I was given it in bursts for the last 10 years for asthma and for some reason I thought the Dr told me to stop at 10 mg and when I did my adrenal glands didn't kick in and I have been stuck on the stuff for the last 2 years since. I wean down to about 17 and then end up in the hosptial. this has happened multiple times. I was down at 17 a month ago and ended up in the er where they jacked me up to 40 and now I am at 23 but I am only able to wean at 1/4 a week at the most. I now am in menopause at 38 I have constant hot flashes rapid cycling mood swings. panic attacks. my heart races all the time I have cushings and possibly addisons now. I can't drive anymore my weight has gone up over 100 lbs my vision is constantly changing. I have pseudotumor cerebri and am now diabetic. This stuff is POISON> I also keep TONS OF FLUID ON face legs chest etc and now have to take lasix> I have tried to wean faster for the last 2 years but end up back up higher than before. I hate this drug. Don't let the Dr put you on it if you can avoid it. Also I would love to know if anyone knows of any type of inpatient facility to help with the weaning. My heart constantly skips and races on this stuff I am really afraid one day I will Die from being on prednisone. But I can't find a Dr to help me. This has ruined my life with my family if anyone can help please let me know

I am so glad I found this website. I have been on Yasmin for about a year and a half now. I never had any problems before I started the pill. Shortly after I started taking it I started having galbladder problems, and eventually had to have surgery to remove my galbladder. I also have experienced heart fluttering. My heart feels like it skips a beat and i lose my breath for a moment. I am getting off it at once! Thanks to everyone who took the time to share their experiences. You have no idea how much they helped.

I have been on Synthroid for 6 weeks, dose .05 MG. Just the past three days I have developed an irregular heartbeat (skips beats every so often). After it skips a beat it thumps real hard and actually feels like it is coming out of my throat. I have also been pretty jittery as well. Just kind of shaky all inside and stomach feels like it has butterfiies in it sometimes. Has anyone had this sort of experience? I went to a regular doctor and he doesn't think it is from the Synthroid but I read one of the side effects could be this.

-- By zlynz | Reply | Private Message meMy husband is 49 and has peripheral vascular disease which causes him to have ongoing problems with leg/ankle edema and cellulitis. He is standing and moving all day for his job and this increases his inflammation and edema. The doctor put him on Levaquin 750 mg./day for the cellulitis.
SIDE EFFECT: Hard pounding heartbeats, skipped beats, fast heart beats. He has gone off the medication for a few days, then just took one a few hours ago. The hard heartbeats started up again, as heard through my stethoscope. Heart rate in the 60s, but many skips and hard pounds. He will not continue this horrible medication and contact the doctor. This is a "dangerous" medication.
