The cure is worse than the disease is true for me with Yasmine. I started because of heavy periods, very painful ovulation, and cysts on my overies. Stop the periods sounded better than a hysterectomy.
My gall bladder has been very sore, and causing me the classic symptoms of gall stones or gall bladder disease. The ultrasounds, MRI's and blood tests are normal, the pain is always there, and very strong at night. I have seen at total of 6 doctors before someone said," birth control pills cause this type of pain." I have quit Yasmin but true to the British Columbia health system it will take another month before I can see my GYN. All women please check all the side effects of birth control pills, it seems so common, we take for granted that it won't be us that has the problem. Just for all you nay sayers out there, I already have a low fat diet, I am 5' 3" and 130lbs.

Today is my sixth day on the nuva ring, yesterday the symptoms started. I was extremely sick, nausea, muscle spasms, my entire body felt weird as if my blood was not circulating right, I also had this weird pain in my neck and chest and could not sleep last night. Today I have a bad urinary tract infection (which i know is due to the NR because i drink plenty of water and eat cranberries on a regular basis) I have never felt this way before

I have been on NR for almost a year. Each month, my depression gets worse. Today it was unbearable, so I started researching and found this site and many others telling me that there is a connection. Here is my question: My depression occurs during the week that the ring is out. I took the ring out Saturday and would normally put in a new ring this Saturday. I am not going to do that, but I am wondering how long these side effects will linger. I have seen many posts saying the side effects are gone within 24 hours of taking the ring out, but since my worst side effects occur during the week that the ring is out I am wondering when all of this will be out of my system. Does anyone know? Thanks.

Today I completed my first set of pills and I have to say this stuff is great. Last night I was in the denteist office for 2 hours getting a root canal done on a tooth that was infected. I did not get a chance to get my prescription in time last night and had to wait till today.. Last night was the worst night of my life the only time I got to sleep was when the pain made me pass out and it was bad, I could not talk nor move. Today I have my meds and the throbbing has stopped, pain is next to nothing and my tummy is turning a bit along with a few giggles but those are side affects I can live with. I heard this will not let me sleep very well.... well I am very tired maybe due to next to no sleep last night. So if you are on this site reading everyones entrys as this is your first time and you are unsure... remember affects are diiferent for everyone but I feel so much better

My doctor prescribed Singulair for me a couple of years ago. I stopped taking it because it gave me bad/weird dreams (I have a tendency to dream weird anyway). He also told me it works on your "brain" as opposed to an antihistamine. So I went back to Allegra. Well, my allergies became so severe due to Allegra not being covered by my insurance that I started taking a famous "placebo" called "Claritin" that my insurance company says should work for me. A teaspoon of sugar would have better results. Just began Singulair again, as my doctor said it works better on rhinitis and inflammation. Took it for about a week (the weird mind-racing dreams began after a few days). I thought I was just stressed about an upcoming overseas vacation to a non-allergy area. Didn't take Singulair while on my cruise and had no bizzare dreams (other than being VERY anxious the first day of the cruise, once again I attributed to stress). Came back on Sunday and resumed Singulair Sunday. Today is now Wednesday and I don't think there was one moment of my sleep last night that did not contain ongoing, bizzare, mind-racing dreams! And I often did not fall back asleep for quite some time because I would begin to lucid dream which really freaking me out! The really bad news: I ordered 100 pills from a Canadian drug company that I am now stuck with! $175 worth!

Hey Everyone! Today is a wonderful day. like others in this forum, my last pill was on Saturday, Since then I've had my period which was not too bad, really thick but not too painful. Had a few headaches but my complexion is better than ever, I feel somewhat normal, I finally had a full nights sleep last night. I've had to get up and change clothes every night because I sweat so much, It feels like my heart rate is actually slowing down and I am more aware of my surroundings. It's great. I still have the sense that my chest is tight and my throat is somewhat closed off but besides that I am a happier person and am excited to be alive! U an very convinced that BC methods in general are all poisonous, not just Yasmin. I am constructing a list of all BC's I've been on and all the syptoms. I was always healthy as a child and never got sick until college. Well, I finally made the connection that I started getting sick after I started the BC. Stupid me! Why did I ever start it! Anyways, things are good, and I'm sure will get better, keep your chins up everyone.
Oh yeah, I think that there is a correlation with how long it takes to get over the syptoms and how long you have actually been on the pill. for me it's been less than a year and things are disappearing quickly.

Sharp and persistent abdominal pain. I am 54 years old and received an injection of Kenalog at an Urgent Care clinic to relieve the swelling and other symptoms from a possible spider bite to the finger. The doctor warned that the shot would probably cause my period to start, but I've had a hyterectomy so I wasn't concerned. They administered the dose with two injections--one in each hip. Within an hour the lower abdominal cramping started (like what I used to suffer with menstrual cramping). Now after 48 hours of the cramps becoming more sharp and persistent, and after no sleep last night because of the pain, I'm concerned! It's the weekend so the clinic is closed. After reading the side effects on this web site, I've decided I must be suffering from a Kenalog side effect as well! I will never agree to another injection of Kenalog!

Been taking Guaifen(1 pill twice a day) for 2 days. First night I woke up at 2 and never went back to sleep. Last night I never fell asleep. Works great as a decongestant, but give me congestion any day of the week. Got up last night and my whole body was shivering with my heart racing. This cannot be good for you.

I suggest to anyone who is taking Advair, please stop taking this poison! Let me tell you about my life for the past week. First of all, I am 33 years old and in pretty good health except for asthma which I have had since I was 18. I have been on Advair for a little over a year. I was on Serevent before that. I also take Singulair which I love. Let me start with the past week of my so called life. After 3 weeks of feeling extremely exhausted and not being able to stand up without being dizzy, I woke up one morning and thought my heart was going to pound through my chest. I spent an entire day sitting in one spot trying to keep calm while my heart raced and skipped and pounded. Trying to sleep that night was a joke because there was no change . The next day I went to my Chiropractor/Kinnesiologist. His first suspician was my Advair inhaler. I really had him puzzled because my blood pressure was high for the first time ever and he could hear my heart skipping a beat. I did not think he was right about my inhaler because there was NO WAY it could be making me feel this awful.Yet over the entire week that he treated me he was still possitive that I was having a severe "chemical" reaction. On the sixth day of heart palpitaions, skipping beats, and no sleep ( I would try to sleep but every time I would start to doze off, an electrical charge would go through my body) I decided to go to my MD for peace of mind. My heart rate was alarmingly high but my EKG showed a very strong healthy heart! They put me on a holster heart moniter for twenty four hours. I am still waiting to hear the results. My doctor also lowered my dosage from 250/50 to 100/50 which I took only one day until I found this website. My inhaler went in the trash yesterday. I got my first nights sleep last night and today my heart is MUCH calmer. It is still a little shaky and I can't wait for this chemical to leave my system. Over the past year I have gone from a healthy, active 33 year old to a 33 year old in a 90 year old body. I have thought that I was developing Rhuematoid arthritis due to extreme pain in my shoulder, hands and neck. Then I was even convinced that I had Fibromyalgia. I have been so tired. I have had a rash develop that I could not explain on my arms and legs. I have forgotten what it is like to sleep a normal night. I believe that this is all the workings of Advair. I am in the process of finding out if I have any legal rights. This drug has taken a year of my life away since I feel like I have been in a fog. I forgot to mention short term memory problems. I did not agree to be a lab rat. Once again, if I had not found this website I don't know how long it would have taken me to figure it out or atleast believe my Chiroprator (Thank God for him!). Throw your advair in the trash where it belongs!!

Went off of Yasmine because it made me so nervous, shaky, and intense. I felt like I was having a panic attack. I went on mircette for a few days and that seemed better, but was starting to bloat up after only 5 days. Quit for 2 months and adeno came back fiercely and went on Mircette again since it didn't make me nutso like the Yasmine. Have been on five days and hands, feet and legs are numb. Couldn't sleep last night as was so numb. Really scary feeling. I'm just going to have to find another way to deal with the adeno. Disgusted with our lack of choices. Hormones obviously are not worth it. Don't feel like having a heart attack or stroke in my 30's.

I just started Toprol XL on Friday (four full days ago). I was put on it to decrease heart rate and palps, I have Inappropriate Sinus Tachycardia. I am 35 years old. I was prescribed to take 50mg twice a day, and I am on the generic. Almost immediately, stomach upset started with diarrhea. I still had some palps at 25 mg. twice a day, which the MD told me to start with for about two days. So, after doing the 25mg for two days twice daily, I went on to the 50mg twice daily. Last night I slept for twelve hours straight, and then felt like I had a sedative after I got up. After taking my next 50mg dose this morning, I got so sleepy again, and felt like sleeping and was in a fog after the twelve hours of sleep last night! I can't imagine mixing anything else with it that causes drowsiness, you would pass out. I feel like I can't think clearly, and feel more crabby and irritable. I called the MD this am. and was told to go back to 25mg twice a day, and that side effects would lessen over time. I have had this sinus tachycardia problem for years, and got diagnosed with it officially in 04. It is very annoying, with shortness of breath, pounding heart, and feeling like you are running a race which sitting still. I have also had an increase in feeling like it skips a beat. All this prompted the Toprol usage. It does help the heart rate and palps, but now I feel so tired I can hardly put one foot in front of the other. I try to walk for thirty min. at least five days a week, and today it was all I could do to make it. I have to watch my twenty month old daily, and I can't keep up with his energy now for sure. I plant to go back to the 25mg twice a day starting tomorrow, and maybe eventually get to the 25mg once daily. I never would recommend anyone stopped something like this cold turkey, you could find yourself in the ER, never play with any heart meds!! I pray that a slow decrease will be the answer to finding some symptom relief of my condition, yet still being able to function daily. Thank God also I am a stay at home mom for now, starting this and trying to work, I would be sleeping on the job!
