NOW I SEE I AM NOT CRAZY. I JUST GOT OUT OF BED AT 3:30 A.M. - another sleepless night. I thought, I wonder if it is the singular - let's get up and do research. So here I am writing this is the middle of the night. I am a 56 year old female. Have been taking allegra for years, no complaints. History of smoking caused asthma-like symptoms which disappeared about a year ago due to improved lung function. I no longer need the albuterol, inhalers, etc. Two months ago I went to the dr. primarily to talk about depression and anxiety. History of depression and I've been taking welbutrin for the past six months. I decided not to change presc for depression. He suggested that I take singulair and switch to zyrtec.
WELL I CAN SEE THAT THIS IS JUST GREAT! I'm ill with everyone, depressed, have loads of anxiety, have three uncompleted projects in my house and was considering a fourth when I realize - now this is a problem! Wake up! So I find these postings and I am angry that all of this suffering has occurred, esp to children who can't explain that they feel different, etc.
So now I am going cold turkey, going to stop singular and zyrtec immediately. I am retired so I can take benadryl most times if I need to and I look forward to getting some good sleep tomorrow. (Will it leave my system that fast.) God bless you all and your children.
OH I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT MY MIGRAINES - WHICH WERE LONG GONE - HAVE COME BACK WITH A VENGEANCE. The nausea has been slight. OH - I'VE HAD TERRIBLE THOUGHTS WHEN I PICK UP A KNIFE IN THE KITCHEN WHILE PREPARING A MEAL. I INTENTIONALLY SHAKE IT AND WONDER WHY IN THE WORLD I WOULD HAVE SUCH A THOUGHT. I am so upset with dr. and pharm. companies. We need to take ownership of our own conditionsl.

I've been on it for about 2 months, the first month nothing really happened...but the last month its just been getting worse and worse. Light headed, sweaty hands, cold feet, tinglinging in the fingers, heart palpitations, etc...the worst are the heart palps, and light headedness (I feel like I might pass out right now!). I stopped taking it today, my last pill was yesterday morning, so hopefully the side effects will subside today or tomorrow.

for those who went off the drug, how long did it take for the side affects to disappear?

I was on 10 mg of Lisinopril for 2 weeks. After quitting, major side effects of the drug gradually subsided (including ringing of the ears, headache, sleeplessness, nausea, fatigue, general flu-like symptoms, panic and anxiety). I'm now 2.5 weeks off the med and was feeling fine but suddenly had a flare up of sleepless night followed by 2 days of nausea, dizziness, irritability and depression. This spell came just after I played an aggressive soccer game. Does vigorous exercise trigger recurring spells?
Has this happened to anyone? How long should I expect symptoms?

I just completed my last Lupron shot. It really did wonders for the extreme pain. But the other side effects were extreme such as the anxiety, depression, sleepless night and have just been dealing with the high blood pressure. This decision to take this shouldn't be taken lightly, do what works for you. But always research for yourself!

I only had my mirena for four days. I had it put in last Friday as the wonder cure for heavy, long and painful periods and I was very excited that my life was about to change for the better. (I do not need it for contraception as my husband has had a vasectomy). The moment I came off the gynae's table I had terrible lower back pain and immediate abdominal cramping. It hadn't helped that the strings had been left too long and the one that wasn't hanging out (!) was stabbing me internally. That was soon rectified early on Saturday morning after a sleepless night of severe cramping when the emergency clinic trimmed the strings for me. I felt immediately better as I was more mobile, but during the day I became aware of an odd, occasional, but familiar pain in my hands and feet. This developed into a constant pain (with occasional shooting pains) over the next few days. I had had these pains during both my pregnancies and they had been diagnosed then as carpal and tarsal tunnel syndrome. I also developed the severe "fanny ache" where it feels like your pelvic bone is going to split in two (another reminder of pregnant days) and sends shooting pains down the thighs. I had a permanent headache - sometimes manageable, sometimes unbearable (bear in mind that the whole time I was dosed to the max with nurofen too!). I was incredibly thirsty all the time, drinking gallons and gallons of water, I had a metallic taste in my mouth (same as when pregnant) and my saliva had become very thick. I think it was this that made me feel as if I had something stuck in my throat. I had bouts of nausea that were similar to morning sickness only more unpredictable than my pregnancy sickness - things like the dishwasher powder was OK but walking past the butchers was not! My boobs grew but were not tender, my waistline grew too - probably as a result of all the extra fluid that I was taking on. I felt thoroughly miserable - although whether that was just because I was feeling like crap dealing with all of that or whether it was a hormonal thing, I don't know. I did eat more but I do that when I'm miserable anyway! I went to see my GP Tuesday morning - he was very understanding and agreed with me that the phantom pregnancy symptoms were due to my body's response to the hormone. When I mentioned that my bleeding had changed and seemed to have become quite watery, he took a swab to check for infection (I don't think that there is/was one - results due later in the week). He suggested that I wait for the results to come back before making a decision. I thought about that for about an hour and took myself to the FPC and asked for it to be taken out. The doctor I spoke to there was unsympathetic, repeated all the side effects that are listed on the leaflet and steadfastly refused to acknowledge any of the ones I was telling him about. He said that the bleeding and the sore breasts would all settle down with time. I explained again that I was geared up to bleed for the next six months if that's what it took - that wasn't the issue, my breasts weren't sore and it was my pregnancy symptoms that were alarming me. He reluctantly agreed to remove it (in fact he was, in my opinion, extremely rude and dismissive once I had asked him), and spent the next few minutes banging on about what contraception I should now use. I referred him to my notes as I got off the table to dress. As quickly as it had come with its insertion, my lower back pain disappeared with its removal. I was astonished. The doctor didn't believe me. 24 hours later, I am still cramping and am still slightly swollen, still bleeding the watery blood but I have no hesitation that I have done the right thing for me in having it removed. My head is in the right place again and I will never complain about my periods again....

I am on Femcon right now and today is my fist day of my brown pills. I have been nauseous for the past three weeks consistently. The hot flashes during the night started a few days ago and culminated in sleepless night filled with waves of emotional surges such as fear, sadness, and of course anxiety. My mouth has been dry for the past couple weeks. I have not gained or lost any weight, but I am also quite careful of what I eat. I have been spotting for the entire month. I would say my energy levels have also decreased and I have been more irritable in general. I will no longer taking Femcon and feel that I have been given a medication that caused my moderate to great difficultly. I am almost tempted to head up a class action law suit, as I have lost sleep, missed work, and struggled with too many issues to just forget about this. If anyone else is interested, please keep posting. I read the Femcon website and I do NOT see any of these side effect listed anywhere. Did I miss something?

Male, age 39, bp at worst 148/88 in Dr.'s office, 137/78 at worst at home, both parents had history of heart disease before passing away at age 67, 20 mg. of lisinopril.

Side effects experienced during the 9 months on this stuff: Anxiety, CHEST PAIN!, tingling in hands and feet, pounding heartbeat at night, drowsiness, stomach discomfort.

First, let me say that the medication worked in keeping my blood pressure down. I was in the 115/65 range at best, 130/80 at worst (rarely).

BUT, this stuff made me feel like absolute crap and led to many sleepless night due to anxiety. I would have chest pains along my rib cage. The pain wasn't usually in the same spot, but moved around. These sharp, stabbing pain episodes lasted anywhere from 2 minutes (pain coming every 30 seconds or so) to the entire afternoon (resulting in two trips to the ER where the EKG was normal).

With a history of heart disease in my family, I'm very aware of chest pain of any kind, and this drove me nuts until I found this website. I thought I was having heart attacks! My doctor had no idea that chest pain could be a side effect of this drug and when I told him it was #4 on the list of most side effect complaints, he was shocked. He thought it was well tolerated.

I went off the 20 mgs for about a month and then the doctor talked me into going back on 10 mgs after a doctor.'s visit and a 148/88 reading. I was fine for the first day, then the anxiety and chest pains returned along with the drowsiness (couldn't make it past 7 PM without falling asleep in the lazy-boy). Enough of this crap! I threw out the bottle. No more.

Hi. I just wanted to let everyone know what has happened since I stopped taking Yasmin 4 days ago. (I only took it for 2 months.) I'm still having heart palpitations, feeling of a lump in my chest, and still a bit dizzy at times. My ears kind of feel like when I'm on an airplane coming in for a landing when the dizziness comes around. I'm also still having an occasional urge to cough. I still have shortness of breath and it's very noticeable when I'm talking and saying a long sentence. I thought the symptoms would really decrease but it seems to come and go. I feel the palpitations more frequently during the evening hours. I don't know why that is though. All of this makes it really hard to concentrate a work. I was reading one blog that said to take extra magnesium and zinc. Has anyone tried that and is it effective?

i have suffered from severe leg and feet pains getting progressively worse the pain kept me awake every night and i had great difficulty walking and even buying shoes was a nightmare because they all hurt.my doctor gave me all kinds of anti inflamitory and other types of drugs for pain, all to no avail. I have been taking lipitor for a few years. Last year somebody mentioned to me about leg pain from lipitor but i did not take much notice. Two weeks ago I just remembered about it and decided to stop taking them and see what happened, after a couple of days my legs have certainly improved I still have pain but nothing like it was and i have not had a sleepless night since stopping the tablets. I am still afraid to believe that this improvement is permanent so I decided to try the internet for information about these drugs and I am absolutely flabbergasted to find that other people are suffering in the same way as myself. Now i think I may have found the answer to my problem and I wonder will the pains improve more or will I be left with some permanent damage as I still have quite a lot of pain although not near as bad as before.

I have been on Yasmin for about ten days. Doctor prescribed for painful periods and also promised me clearer skin. Since day 5 I have been sick to my stomach pretty much constantly, my breasts are killing me, and I cannot sleep. After stumbling across this site, after another sick, sleepless night, I have decided to quit taking Yasmin today. I was going to try and gut it out for awhile to see if symptoms improved, but it does not sound like that will happen - and I don't want this to get worse! My husband does not understand how severely I am being affected by this. Thank goodness I found this board!

Started taking Advair in 2003. It helped, I stayed on and off of it for the first year. Then found myself growing more reliant. Last month I added Singulair and Flonaise to the mix. Kaboom! Last night I took myself to the Emergency Room! I was sure I was experiencing a heart attack this time. Blood pressure soaring 198/120. Chest, head, jaw and back pain. Indigestion intesifing signaling all the nightmares. Restless, sleepless night anxious days. My voice has changed, sinusitis increasing, even sleep disorders.

I feel like a Macy's Thanksgiving Baloon stuck in the electric wires (inflated and electrified) Over the last 3 years I've gained 50lbs, and started having occasional anxiety attacks. Personal circumstances brain washed me into thinking that I was bringing it all on myself. Yeast infections, yep gotten them and given them.

I'm done! Over! This purple disc is going to kill me~ going to see the allergists this week.

I have been on "Yankmearound" for 4 months now. I was on it about two years ago and don't remember have the same side effects as I do now. In fact then I remember only really having anxiety which I am predisposed to, breast tenderness and loss of libido which I thought had to do with my relationship. Well this time my anxiety is pretty bad despite the fact that I am willfully unemployed and exploring a creative direction in my life- I should be much more relaxed! I have also started to notice a sleepless night aroung the start of menstruation each month since I started that has gotten noticeably worse. This month it lasted for the entire duration of my period and seems to be continuing on post starting a new pack! I have never had such problems sleeping thnakfully before taking this poison. I'd really like to know if anyone has experienced such syptoms of insomnia though because of course it is hardly discussed in the Package Insert. I am looking to go off this and looking for non- hormonal options that are not scary like the IUD which can cause pelvic inflammatory disease and infertility! Have anyother methods worked out there ie. female condom, diaphragm, cervical cap? For the typical "no can do condoms man" that I always seem to date.

So my symptoms this time were: breast tenderness, marked loss of libido, anxiety- sometimes creeping up and intense with no conscious indentifiable cause, and this wretched insomnia and ssleep disturbance ie: can't fall asleep maybe until late mornig hours, or wake up after every few hours or wake up early in the morning.

I am sitting up at 1 o'clock in the morning reading all of your entries because I am experiencing yet another sleepless night since starting Yasmin. I have been taking it for just over 2 weeks now and cannot tell you how glad I am that I have stumbled upon this information.

My side effects have included: Extreme lethargy, extreme muscle fatigue (think noodles), dry eyes, irritability and bipolar mood swings, extreme anxiety, constipation, upset stomach, BLOATING (I look and feel 6 months pregnant), insomnia, constant peeing and urinary spasms, shortness of breath, lower leg cramping at night, constant hunger

I am going to stop taking this pill immediately. I don't understand why the doctors love it so much. My doctor couldn't say enough good things about it. He really did make it sound like a miracle pill. It was definately not for me!!

Hi everyone
I just wanted to say thank you for all of the posts you have put up. They are the only thing that have kept me sane in the last month. I have been on Yasmin for a year already and had almost no noticeable symptoms with the exception of shortness of breath from time to time. It did clear up my skin and increase my breast size as well.

It seems like every negative side effect of the drug has just hit me recently. It all started after my first pill of this pill pack with nausea and an odd tingling in my breasts, something that I have never experienced before. Then it progressed into the worst cramps I have ever felt that came on 1 1/2 weeks before my period was due to start, complete with lower back pain and a weird chunky white discharge. Then the dizzy spells started. I could hardly go to work. I felt I was in a fog the entire day. In addition to this all I was extremely depressed and had odd leg cramps.

The whole time I thought I was pregnant because I had never felt this way before and pregancy seemed like the only explanation. I went to the doctor and had a blood pregnancy test which came out negative. After reading this site one sleepless night, I found out it may actually be Yasmin that was causing me so much pain. When I called my gynecologist, and mentioned to her that I thought my symptoms might be from Yasmin, she told me I was crazy because no way would it start to affect me after a year of being on it.

Well, I am on my placebo pills now and I feel MUCH better. I am not sure what to do next. I do not want to go on and off birth control. I am thinking of trying something new, but am a little scared. I want to let you know that the symptoms may strike at any time regardless of the length of time you have been on the pill. Good luck everyone!

My husband took his fourth levaquin earlier this evening to fight a urinary tract infection diagnosed earlier this week. He is now having his second largely sleepless night, feeling headachy, anxious, and like he is on the verge of a nervous breakdown -- not at all a characteristic state for him to be in. He is now forcing even more fluids to try flushing the levaquin out of his system -- I wish we had checked this page before he started taking it -- this is not the kind of information included in the material from the pharmacy.

Unable to sleep, headache, loss of appetite, don't know if I'm having hot flashes or feeling is caused by Guaifenex. Called pharmacist after first sleepless night, was told to just take one pill in the morning and discontinue the second pill. Still not sleeping. Am stopping medication after three days.

I have taken Levaquin several times and I got s sleepless night with the first time. I learned to take it in the morning and drink a fruit glass of warm milk before going to bed so I could sleep. This last dose of Levaquin I am taking, I have nausea and burning stomach as well as back aches. I don't know what to take for my burning stomach as the directions from the pharmacy says not to take anti-acids with Levaquin.
