I was prescribed Ultracet/Tramadol to manage pain from a MVA. It relieved the immense pain in my back and the chest wall with good effect. I was also feeling euphoric and helped to relieve anxious mood, aside from negative side affects of itchiness, slight dizziness, and diarreah. I tried to stop taking this medication in fear of becoming dependent. The day after, I noticed my mood changing, feeling anxious, restless, and depressed. I think I will stop taking it, if I can manage my pain.

Well, I have had my Mirena since June/08. I had my son in May/08. I was 7 weeks pp when I had it put in. After my son was born I felt ok, no pains besides my c section scar
NOW...since insertion I have had a mess of problems. I have been a healthy woman for a long time and never had issues like this until July-ish. I am 27.
1. I had horrible back pain and my legs felt like I walked in 7" heels the night before (the tight muscle cramps, etc). My PCP told me I could possibly have a slipped disc and wanted me to go to PT. I had all my blood work come back fine btw. Since I knew in my heart I didn't have a slipped disc I did not waste my money on PT.
2. I have NO sex drive. The thought of sex makes me gag. No joke. I had sex 6 weeks pp and had a libido with no sleep. My son sleeps 11 hrs a night and I still don't want sex. As I type, I could go the rest of my life with no sex. THAT IS NOT ME AT ALL!
3. Extreme tiredness. Like I said my son sleeps 11 hrs a night and I sleep 8 hrs a night.
4. Light-headedness- I do have a BP of 110/70 so if I get up fast I get dizzy, but more now than before.
5. Started to have SEVERE pelvic pain right above my c section scar. It hurt so bad I was about to go to the ER. I was home alone with my 6 mo old so I tried to wait it out. I called my OB and they got me in. In his exam he felt a huge knot in my pelvis and it hurt like a MF! He suspected a hernia so he sent me for a CT scan.
Got the results yesterday and they came back normal. He said maybe I bruised something. But why do I have a big knot in my pelvis?
I feel like I am crazy. My bf takes my pain issues with a grain of salt now days. My OB did say since there is progesterone in the Mirena that my leg issues could be from Mirena and he was more than happy to remove if I wanted.
I still have it in and more and more I am thinking of getting it removed. My issue is I am so bad at taking pills and didn't like the Depo.
Anyways ladies...please let me know if you have had these issues. My email is arizonaequine@yahoo.com
Hope this can help someone feel less crazy!!

I had 2 surgeries at once last week and was prescribed Meprozine 1-2 capsules every 4-6 hours. The first 4 days I took 2 at a time and within 20 minutes my pain was gone, I felt relaxed and a little drowsy and was able to nap, which I needed for at least the first two days after my surgery. Twice in 4 days, one of my legs twitched and once my arm twitched. After the first 4 days, I would take only 1 as needed, usually in the evening after I has been up all day and was in a little pain. I had slight dizziness when I first stood up the first day only when I would get up to go to the bathroom. Other than that, I had no nausea, and I have to eat something before I take any medication, no stomach pains, no allergic reactions (I am allergic to medications with codeine in it), no depression, no emotional swings (in fact, if I wasn't sleeping, I was so relaxed that I was able communicate normally, laugh, make my normal jokes, etc.), I did not hallucinate or see things. I was also on an antibiotic, which my pharmacist said would make me very thirsty so I attributed my dry mouth to that. Last year, I was prescribed several different strong pain medications for severe chronic headaches and they did nothing. I would recommend Meprozine for short term relief for pain management. I do know someone who got addicted to Meprozine after taking it everyday for several months because a doctor kept prescribing it to her, so it is definitely only to be used for short term use. If I ever have to have surgery again, dental work, or need something for pain management, I will be asking my doctor for a one time prescription for Meprozine.

Update and a question:
I posted about a week ago about some of the side effects I was experiencing from lisinopril:
-lightheadedness (including one fainting spell)
-some discomfort and tightness in my chest
-difficulty breathing (when this happened, I would force myself to breathe deeply and usually found that I was breathing OK ... just felt like I wasn't always getting enough air)
-feelings of panic
-muscle pain in back and neck
-diarrhea
I stopped taking it a little over week ago and my doctor wants to start me on diovan. After my experience with lisinopril, I want to wait a little while before starting a new med.
So my question is, how long does it take to get lisinopril completely out of your system?
I've felt some of the same side effects recently (slight dizziness, some discomfort in back and chest area). But that was after working in the Texas sun for a couple of hours in the morning. (I've heard that lots of sweating and dehydration can increase some of the side effects of lisinopril.)
Can anyone tell me your experiences after getting off lisinopril?

I began taking Micardis two weeks ago to control my high-normal BP. Started out with 40mg doses taken each morning. The first side effects I noticed were a slight dizziness and a feeling of disconnectedness plus an upset stomach. An irritating background headache then developed along with some shoulder and back pain. By day three, I had numbness in my left pinky finger and palm and slight numbness extending up to my elbow. All of these side effects have become very annoying and have made it hard to concentrate at work and have really decreased my motivation. Two days ago while skiing, I missed my dose in the morning and didn't realize until later how normal I felt throughout the day. Upon returning from skiing, I took a pill and an hour later I felt poorly again. I haven't really noticed any benefit from the drug with my BP either as I do monitor it almost daily. I'm going to stop taking the drug tomorrow and see how I feel the rest of the week. It's just not worth for what little, if any, benefit I'm receiving.

Have been on Lipitor for a year. I'm fighting fatigue and depression, difficulty sleeping and slight dizziness, a generalized backache, and a sensitivity to touch. After finding this website, I'm going to try going without it. I hate having no energy, I used to be very active and am now too tired to do anything. I hope statins do not turn out to be the hormone replacement scandal of the 2000s.

I originally posted on 3/16/08. I visited the Dr. on Monday about problems with 40 mg Lisinopril such as shortness of breath, slight dizziness, fatigue. He said that I "need" to be on this medicine and that if I feel that the 40 mg is too much, to cut them in half and see how I do and come back in 30 days. I really feel like he is an honest and caring Dr. so I;m going to follow his advice and see how it goes. Any thoughts?

I had Mirena in for 3 1/2 years. The first year was basically a fog. I started spotting, moodiness was ok, bad acne. The next 1 1/2 years I experienced light bleeding, acne , slight dizziness, some fatigue. On the third year that I was on mirena that's when things began getting worse. Around a month after my 38th birthday I started getting really bad symptoms. The worst part was the Dizziness. I got severe headaches, major dizziness, moodiness, less patience with everyone, weight gain, increased appetite, depression, fatigue during day, nervousness, panic attacks, some hair loss, bleeding gums. The dizziness was the worst. I would get panic attacks along with the dizziness. This especially got worse around time of period. I noticed just before I was scheduled to get my period I would get these crazy dizzy spells and anxiety. I have had numerous test and gone to Cardiologists, Nuerologist, Gyno. The gyno's are the worst. They deny that it is the mirena. However, I have been doing some research by myself and have come across many websites like this one. Most of the women who have been on Mirena have had the same symptoms that I have had. The one symptom that I did not here of was bleeding gums. During my pregnancy I noticed that I would bleed when brushing my teeth. Of course this is normal because of hormones. However, about a year after I gave birth to my daughter my gums were still bleeding. I was on mirena for about 6 months already. The dentist had me go in 4 times a year, because he was concerned. They thought it was bizzare that I had this promblem at 38, Wanted to know if anyone else experienced this? Also, wanted to disclose that in the early years of mirena I was taking Prozac. Around the second or third year of mirena I started to be a little forgetful about taking the prozac daily. This may be a reason why my panic attacks came on strong around third year.

I started taking Yasmin august 07-took it for 3 weeks, 2nd week I felt pressure on my chest, 3rd week there was this day I started feeling pressure on my chest and bad palpitations, I got a little worried and they told me I was having a panic attack, it took 20 minutes for me to calm down. I stopped taking Yasmin that day and have continued to feel sick since. Symptoms since Yasmin have been:severe nervousness, shivering, racing heart especially with activity, chest pressure, pain by me heart, huge decrease in appetite, panic, thoughts I will die, body aches, headaches, slight dizziness sometimes. I've been to ER twice I've also had 2 d-dimer tests positive but no blood clot in my chest or legs and been to doctor about 7 times-she just sent me to psychiatry even though she knows I say the pill caused it. I also have an appt with cardiology tomorrow- and I'm sure they will tell me its in my head as well-its been 5 months I wonder how long my sickness will last.

I posted a question to anyone who used Tri-Sprintec before, but now it's been several months & I'd like to let everyone else know how it's worked for me! Tri-Sprintec has been the best birth control I've ever taken. I have been on other birth controls over the years, and up to this point Yasmin was good but I still had some side effects. I've just started my fourth month on Tri-Sprintec, and I feel more like myself again. I don't have any crazy mood swings, my skin has cleared up, my periods are regular again & my appetite has gone back to normal. I recommend Tri-Sprintec to anyone who is looking for an affordable & reliable birth control (it's offered at the Wal-Mart pharmacy for $9 a month if you don't have insurance.)

I am a 34 year old and have been taking Yaz for almost a year.
I had some minor side effects until this past month when everything came apart at the seams. I do not know if yaz is the culprit - but the number of women with the EXACT SAME SYMPTOMS as me listed here SCARES THE HELL OUT OF ME.
My "minor" sude effects were the following:
* No period for 5 months
* No sex drive (was not the case before taking Yaz)
* Panic attacks / anxiety (no history fo this. My doc has now put me on Zoloft.)
* Bloating / weight gain
* Brown blotches (like age spots) on one side of my face
This is NOTHING compared to the last month of my life. Basically my life has sucked for the last month. Roughly a month ago my symptoms started with a red rash on the left side of my face and pain in my left ear that led to a migraine that has not gone away at all. (The pain level goes between a 5 and 10, but never lower than a 5.) The rash went away in 2 days, but my ear still hurts today (a month later).
My vertigo began roughly 5 days after the onset of my rash and ear pain and has been non-stop since. I've taken phenergan, valium, etc. - but they are not working. I get spinning/dizzy every time my head moves (up, down, left, right) and with up and down eye movement. It seems like my migraine pain intensifies when my vertigo hits me. If I lie completely still - I have no vertigo - but my migraine is still there. To make matters worse, I have become very disoriented, like I am in a fog all of the time. I am only 34 years old and feel like I am losing my mind. I cannot remember simple words at times and have a tough time completing sentences.
All of these symptoms coincide exactly to the day I began a new packet of the birth control pill called YAZ (Yasmin). I had taken this brand of pill for a year, and though it has worked (not pregnant) I have had some minor side effects up until the last month. The biggest side effect is that I have not had any period at all for the last 5 months. I have also had anxiety (no past history) and have no sex drive (not my normal self.) I stopped taking the pill about a week ago - after reading literally thousands of people with the same side effects I am experiencing on a website called medications.com (My neurologist also told me to stop taking it.)
I am NOT having ringing in my ears or loss of hearing. I mention this because I know other ailments have these as symptoms.
I have already been seen by my dentist, physical therapist, ENT, 2 neurologists and a gyn. So far - they are not helping. I have even been hospitalized for 5 days and all they really did was try and dope me up to sleep and had me take a very potent anti-migraine drug called DHE that must be administered over a 36 hour period via IV. Guess what? It did not work.
The most scary thing is that even though I get severe vertigo any time I move my head (even to the point of waking me up while I sleep) - NOT A SINGLE DOCTOR EVEN MENTIONED I MIGHT HAVE BPPV ( BENIGN PAROXYSMAL POSITIONAL VERTIGO) and they did not test for it at all. They were all interested in treating my month-long migraine with anti-migraine drugs. They all swore up and down that my vertigo was related to my migraine. They also said my fogginess was because I was "tired and sick" and many migraine sufferers are that way.
After my husband and I searched the internet and found dozens of websites, we are pretty much convinced that I have BPPV. We are going to get in front of a vestibular specialist ASAP.
So you know, I have been through a CT scan, two different MRIs, basic blood work on my white cell counts, thyroid levels, potassium, etc.
They have ruled out a sinus infection, brain tumor, pituitary tumor, stroke, blood clots, etc. They have simply treated me with anti-migraine medication - and it has been worthless. I have taken Topomax, Frova and DHE (the drug mentioned above) and my migraine is still there. These drugs have not helped one bit. My neurologist swore that the DHE would do the trick. Guess what? He was wrong.
I discharged myself from the hospital yesterday and am now at home.
I just want my normal life back. I cannot drive, work, take care of my family, etc.
My two biggest questions are:
DOES ANYONE KNOW IF BPPV CAN CAUSE MY MIGRAINE? The reason I ask is that the doctors all think that the migraine is causing my vertigo. All along they have been treating my migraine (with zero success) and have been giving me valium and antivert to simply mask my vertigo (no success there either.) No one has tried to really diagnose and treat my vertigo. Is it possible if I get my vertigo fixed my migraines will disappear?
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INFORMATION ABOUT BIRTH CONTROL PILLLS CAUSING BPPV? I saw woman after woman on medications.com have the same symptoms of vertigo, migraines and brain fog while taking the birth control pill Yasmin. I also know that my avalanche of symptoms eerily coincided with my first pill from a new pack. If they are related, I am most interested in what to do to get my hormones back on track in an effort to stop my vertigo.
This is all driving me crazy. A month ago I was absolutely normal. Now I am 100% disabled. I just want my life back.
Please help!

I was prescribed 750 mg. for 3 days of Levaquin for a UTI by a doctor (not my regular) I did notice the slight dizziness but wasn't too concerned. I also had some insomnia but didn't connect it to Levaquin. Then in the a.m. after 21 hours of taking the first dose, I had elevated heart rate and blood pressure along with nervousness. Scary! I've taken 250 mg of Levaquin for sinus infection previously (3 days) and never had any side effects. I even asked for this prescription...can you believe that. It's New Years Day so I can't even contact my regular doctor but I am stopping Levaquin and requesting to not ever prescribe this drug to me again!!!!!
