My husband has been taking TriCor 145 for app. 1 year. He is a marathon runner with no history of heart or other health problems. When his doctor first prescribed TriCor, my husband was asymptomatic. His doctor prescribed TriCor to help raise his good cholesterol levels after a brief attempt to correct HDL levels through diet and exercise. Recently, he was hospitalized for three days due to high blood pressure (136/100--no previous problems with blood pressure) and slow heart rate of 37 BPM. His primary care physician has failed to return numerous calls to discuss titrating him off TriCor so he will discontinue use on his own.

Hello folks - thought I would post here as well.........I am on 20MG of LISINOPRIL 1 time daily. I notice during regimented times of the day I get the side effects. I take it when I wake up in the morning. I have been on this for about a year now...........it has lowered by HBP from 150's/80's to about 130/80..............regular........I am a 37 year old Male
Problem is the multiple side affects:
1. Tiredness - comes and goes all throughout the day - almost like I could just close my eyes and go to sleep anywhere.........feels like someone threw sand in my eyes.......
2. Shortness of breath
3. Sore Muscles - everywhere - it doesn't discriminate!!!!
4. Pain in the chest mostly the left side but sometimes the right
5. Headache in one spot in the head - doesn't last long
6. Wake up often in the middle of the night with dead hands or legs
7. Sometimes I just have a total memory blank on things I should know right away - usually only occurs when I'm getting tired.
8 Of course the panic from thinking something is wrong with me!!!
Anyone else with these set of symptoms????
Drop me a note!!!!

Took Avelox - one dose - two years ago for a chest infection. Within two hours, experienced acute weakness, dizziness and bizarre (and frightening) sensations of falling/collapsing/sinking. Changes of vision and loss of acuity of hearing followed. In the ensuing days, severe neck pain, inability to regulate body temperature (feeling constantly cold), involuntary muscle movement, acute diarrhoea, confusion, low blood pressure, low oxygen levels in the blood, crushing chest pain, slow heart rate required hospitalisation. In retrospect, I would have to say that those first few weeks were terrifying not just for me but for my husband and small children. It took several months for these symptoms to resolve completely. The peculiar sensations in the neck persist intermittently. In my opinion and experience, Avelox is a dangerous drug, which should be withdrawn from use immediately. Notably in this episode, the specialist/consultant who prescribed the drug refused to accept that Avelox caused any of these problems. The GP was far more aware of this drug's potential to do damage. I would strongly advise that anyone visiting this site never, EVER, give fluoroquinolones to anyone in their family. Wishing good health to all who have been damaged by this drug. MM

I have been on Atenolol (only 12 mg a day) half a pill, for 4 months now. I have had dizziness most of the time, ice cold hands and feet, numb feeling in my legs, severe pain in my chest, which turned out to be costachondritis. Very slow heart rate 50 bpm. Low blood pressure 98/54. Dull pain in both my sides and back. I did not have any of these symptoms until I started Atenolol I hate the way I feel. However, when I try to stop it, my heart starts racing. I have been taking it only for my racing heart (as the Dr. says I have atrial fibrillation.) I wish there was a better med without these bad side effects.

This drug has been horrible for me.
Waves of rapid pulse and high blood pressure.
Waves of shakyness and anxiety.
Cold hands/feet, sometimes numb fingers.
Chronic mental fogginess and depression.
Some weight gain, slow heart rate, pulse in the 40s!
Heart missing beats.
This @ 25mg 2x daily.
I was told to not take it for 24 hours before my stress test,...
while in bed, asleep, about 4 hours after I should have taken it, I began to feel a buzzing throughout my body and noticed my heart racing. My bp was 170/105 120bpm. I took my missed dose and my heart started to slow back down in about an hour and a half.
I told my Dr and he said to double my dose. I did not!
I weaned my self very slowly down to half a dose (12.5mg 2x daily) and felt 50% better.
I tried to go off completely, at 1/3 dose, with my new Dr.s consent. I was good for two days then my bp and pulse rebounded. I am back on it, but now down to a quarter dose and mostly feel like myself :)
I was told by a cardiologist that the side effects (rebound bp and rapid pulse) can linger for up to 6 weeks.
Every other test I have taken has come back fine so far.
I am 30yo male and athletic.
I am sure this drug helps many people.
But for me it has been a 3 month nightmare.
If your story sounds like mine, hang in there, find a Dr that will listen to you and work with you.
You are not the only one.

I have been on Toprol for about a month now. I started off on 25mg twice a day. After I had severe palpatations and very slow heart rate (which resulted in a trip to the ER) i called my doctor and he cut me back to one 25mg tablet a day. I still have weird palpatations in which i feel as though my heart gets startled and i believe i can feel the blood drain from my head and out my arms. not fun.
I have also recently developed a cough around bed time as well as a weird tingly feeling throughout my body and slight insomnia. I called my doctor today and he told me I could stop taking Toprol. He did not reccommend that I ween off, simply saying I should just stop taking it as of today.

-- By fraulein | Reply | Private Message meI lasted 2 days on Lisinopril 10 mg.~after feeling pressure in my chest (which I had never experienced, EVER), feeling very emotional...wanting to cry all the time & just generally feeling ill. I was never comfortable knowing, the med was made from snake venom. I was borderline HP for several years 140ish/80ish or lower but recently went 152/98 @ the doctor's office @ home it is usually normal with a couple of spikes. My doc. switched me to Atenol 25 mg., I seem to be tolerated the drug thus far. I do feel tired & feel some fuzziness in my head, slow heart rate, & more difficult to exert & I'm more emotional. I'm not sure about this yet....
Keep writing all your experiences, it's important~
