I have been taking Singulair for about a year and a half now, and my mild asthma is totally better. I have noticed a decrease in my shortness of breath, coughing, etc. and my allergy symptoms I struggled with for over 30 years are GONE. I also take Nasonex, so I can also attribute the improvement to that drug. But, I have had dramatic cycles of hair loss, which my hairdresser and doctor have attributed to "stress" even though I am not experiencing more stress than normal (except about the hair loss!) and the main thing for me is weight gain. I am a slim, petite 36 year old and I have gained at least 15 or 20 pounds since I started Singular. I have not decreased my activity level ( I am a waitress and walk about 5 miles each shift easily) or increased my food intake. My doctor and gyne keep telling me it's due to slowing metabolism, and implying that I'm slowing down in activity. I am not. I think it's the Singular, but I'm afraid of the allergy symptoms returning. Anyone else with significant weight gain?

I got my Decadron injection on Oct 17th. My period came 4 days late on the 25th and it never left. It has now been 3 weeks of bleeding. Has anyone else had similar experience? The side effects list menstrual irregularity, but 3 weeks? It is not showing any sign of slowing down either.

I've seen alot of info on Kenalog and bleeding long and that is a steroid as well.

This is a nightmare. I have been on Lamictal 200 mg, tab in morning, for approx. 5 months. About 3 1/2 months ago I started getting muscles aches and weakness, muscle overuse problems, fluid retention ( like 12 pounds), stayed in a trance with very little short term memory. Thought it was everything but this medicine....I am an avid athelite, yes, even at 51. So, I blamed myself for not slowing down. Quick exercising totally, for 2 months, iced 3 times a day on leg muscles. Finally after making it to the summer without a mental breakdown, I went to the emergency room and a new internist to get checked out. Blood work, thyroid, hormones,ok.... Really don't care what they think , I can not walk, it hurts like hell. The Dr. did tell me to get off Lamictal....ok 7th day and I have some relief but it is not complete. Called manufactures, interesting, yes- these are side effects!!! But the studies are limited. Listen , unless you have seizures, get off this medicine... you read the full disclosure of side effects and then search yourself......It can ba a huge FOOOOOPA.....And you are the fool that will end up holdling the bag, not the manufacturer. Hopefully I will get better. Right now , I just trying to stay calm.

I also suffer from puffy, irritated, dry eyes and when my dosage was too high, I also had bloating. Hair was falling out but I think it is slowing down some. Most of all I'd like to know what to do about my eyes, I can't seem to get any help from doctor.

Really hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toe's here, but... the big thing that everyone here is worried about is the effect that topamax is slowing down their sex life, along with train of thought.
Not everyone must have migraines as bad as mine, or as often! Mine are everyday , and bad enough that well it's hard to say how bad they are. Anyway mine bother me enough that they effect my thought's, what I can remember (or not), And I feel like a somby with the migraines! Oh and well let's see, sex? hmmm I wake up in pain and go to bed in pain, do I feel like sex? NO ! Thank God my husband is worried about me felling better more than sex.
We own a small business, I try to do the phone and running part of the work. With the migraines as bad as they get, I have a hard time remembering who I was talking to on the phone when I got off. I have to take note's (bad one's at that) just to remember what went on in the blurr of the day. And I have had these for many year's off and on, till the last 4 to 5 months then it's become a everyday non-stop thing. I can NOT live with the migraines. My girl's help me as much as they can and my husband also, but it's hard. Each day we all just pray for help and that I can reclame my life again.
All being said, I have only started the topamax for 9 day's now and am startting to see a tiny little help. But would like to ask those here that are upset about the lack of sex and train of thought, was it better with the pain of migraines? And if so then my thought's are that maybe the topamax is too strong for you, and you should see another doctor for a 2nd outlook on your type of migraines. Beacuse there are so many types, and mild to strong.
Like I said in the start, I'm sorry if I did step on your toe's, but just not undrestanding. Don't mean to hurt feeling's at all, just my feeling's.

I'm 6 weeks post yasmin. I have gained five pounds since I got off the pill and it seems to increase every week. Did this happen to anyone else?

also, while I was on the pill, (2 years) my hair fell out in huge clumps everyday. I had zero libido and my breasts were non-existent. I was extremely irritable and angry for about one week every month prior to getting the period.

Since I've been off the pill, I feel better overall. Even the breasts came back somewhat right away. Minus the one day of terrible headache and nausea. I'm wondering, why am I gaining so much weight so quickly and will they come off? am I just retaining water or is my metabolism slowing down? My diet is the same as before.

did anyone else experience the similar?

Hey Everyone! Today is a wonderful day. like others in this forum, my last pill was on Saturday, Since then I've had my period which was not too bad, really thick but not too painful. Had a few headaches but my complexion is better than ever, I feel somewhat normal, I finally had a full nights sleep last night. I've had to get up and change clothes every night because I sweat so much, It feels like my heart rate is actually slowing down and I am more aware of my surroundings. It's great. I still have the sense that my chest is tight and my throat is somewhat closed off but besides that I am a happier person and am excited to be alive! U an very convinced that BC methods in general are all poisonous, not just Yasmin. I am constructing a list of all BC's I've been on and all the syptoms. I was always healthy as a child and never got sick until college. Well, I finally made the connection that I started getting sick after I started the BC. Stupid me! Why did I ever start it! Anyways, things are good, and I'm sure will get better, keep your chins up everyone.

Oh yeah, I think that there is a correlation with how long it takes to get over the syptoms and how long you have actually been on the pill. for me it's been less than a year and things are disappearing quickly.

I was on Yasmine for about 6 months. I started having hair loss about 2 months of taking the pill. I've never had such an experience while on birth control pills. It was bad enough that I'm off this pill and won't take another pill again after this experience. I called my Dr. to notify of my sympton and was told hair loss is not a sympton listed in the insert with yasmine and to see my primary doctor to have my thyroid checked out. I did that and my thyroid was fine. I do believe it was this pill. After a month off this pill my hair loss seems to be slowing down--I just hope it grows back! I did not feel very good while on this pill!

To jules777(for the last time)
Time to stop the personal attacks on both sides
Anyway, I hope for u, Jules, that everything goes well for u, no matter whick way u choose to get better. Pred. or not, life is too short to argue. No, I am not the spokesperson here, just one who has gone thru such an ordeal that I sometimes overstep someone . I feel for everyone who is on pred. or coming off of it, like I am. I apologize to u , jules. I don't want to visit "your planet" Just hope everyone can see what a sensitive issue pred. is. We really need to be educated on the dangers, and yes, benefits of pred. Being off it now is worse than being on it. The side effects are slowing down in some areas and not in others. I have to wait this out. God Bless Everyone who reads this website.

I started on 50mg for pac's and pvc's.. side effects the first weak were horrible.. slowness, feeling as if I was a train slowing down, tired, and weak.. but after a week all the symtoms went away. I was told to up the medication to 100mg, so I have to go through all this again another wek until I get use to it. One of the side effects that is most annoying is heavy chest... but that goes away after a couple hours. No depression, no problems with sex, it really helps in keeping the palps away.

I am a bit confused. I have many of the symptoms for hyperthyroidism yet I have just been prescribed levoxyl by my physician. For example, I have lost 29 lbs. in the past 2 months and yet I have been eating regularly, my heartrate seems to fluxuate but toward the fast side, not slowing down. I have just started levoxyl 3 days ago.
Email with any insight to this delimna.
