I was prescribed sulfamethoxazole-TMP as a second round of antibiotics to kill off a persistent sinus infection. For the first couple of days I felt fine, but then by the 3rd day out of 10 I had a persistent headache in the evenings. This lasted two days and then went away. Then on the 8th day I woke up with a rash all over my body of small red bumps, which looked like tiny mosquito bites. They don't itch, but I can definitely feel them rubbing up against my clothing. I had some red wine last night, so the extra sulfur in my body might have pushed me over the edge... Also, I feel light-headed and tired. I called the advice nurse and she said just to drink a lot of fluids to flush it out of my body and to take another round of the antibiotic to see if it gets worse! No way, lady! I think I'll stay away from it, thank you very much. My sinus infection is gone enough. I have never had a reaction to any medications before, so this really surprised me.

Hi, ive been on Yasmin now for 1 month and 3 days. A few days after starting it I got a rash on my chest and upper arms which i thought was sparked by the sun/heat. It went away and then a week later my skin slowly started to get itchier and itchier until I was covered in a rash from my ankles to my neck. I looked like I had a weird disease. Even the doctors were impressed, but no one could help. We suspected the pill as it was the only thing that was new to my system, but then it disappeared and we put it down to being caused by stress. Ive just started the next month (like I say 3 days into it) and once again I find myself scratching an feeling basically itchy and very very tired (not that it is unusual the tiredness I have to say, it just seems a little more than normal). I am now pretty sure it is the pill, but am nervous just to stop taking it. I just don't want to go through all that ive just been through with the previous rash, it was HORRENDOUS! Has anyone else had such a severe rash reaction? They were red, itcy spots with a watery kind of top to them........

I'm not sure if this is a side effect but since I've been taking this drug my face has broken out in these small red bumps. After reading this blog I can finally figure out why I was always scratching my arms and legs especially at night and why I'm so tired all of a sudden. Is the drug worst than the heartburn???

Had 8 infusions that helped a lot,but then things took a turn for the worst. During my treatment I GOT BUTTERFLY RASH ON MY FACE(drug induced lupus). I had small red bumps everywhere I have hair. My body then and still year latter always feel tired and ache. In April of 06 I went to have my colon removed, because the Remicade stopped working, and took my immune system down to nothing. My body could not fight off the infection. Four day after the colon came out my doctor had to open me back up. I was full of infection, it poured out of me. They took my innards out and washed them. Remicade and a weak immune system gave me sepsis infection. The infection clogged my heart and gave me a major heart attack. I was put in a coma for 4 days. They had to continually flush me with water and antibiotic. I did not remember the first 3 weeks of the nightmare. I had a respirator to keep me breathing for 3 weeks. Then a track for two more weeks. I had to be feed threw a tube, go to the bathroom using a catheter. I lost a total of 85 pounds and spent 41 days in the hospital, because of infection. My wife and daughter had to help me up two steps to get in my house. I was suppose to have my surgery April 06, get second surgery June 06 to get rid of the bag and use the pouch the doctor had constructed. Its 7 months later and the healing posses, because of the REMICADE has been so slow I am still waiting. I have a scope up my butt every 6 weeks to check the progress. I thank the Lord , doctor and my wonderful wife I am alive today. Remicade can be deadly, as my family doctor said its like playing with fire cracker. By the way I am 42 years old, my name is Mike H. from Lake city, MI. If you are on Remicade please keep a very watchful eye. If you get a infection , REMICADE has lower you body's ability to fight back. I wish the best for all who suffer from illness, GOD BLESS.

I'm on my third day of Biaxin XL 500MG and I have small red bumps on my hands and the bottoms of my feet. They hurt like blisters. The back of my throat has tiny red dots all over. It doesn't sound like the same simptoms as everyone else.

I recently was prescribed the sulfa type antibiotic, smz/tmp double str Tb MPC - and with one left to take, started to itch. I noticed small red bumps on the tops of my thighs, the underside of my arms and some on my belly - all of which have been itching.. So, I am using an Aveeno hydro cortisone. The chest cold/crusted eye syndrome I was experiencing for most of the month of Dec 2005..has now died away. It is the day after Christmas and I feel like I've been attacked by a swarm of mosquitoes. I will be sure never to take this again!

Has anyone had a RASH reaction to Advair?? I began taking Advair a couple weeks ago and about 4-5 days after starting it, I started getting a rash on my upper legs. Small red bumps all over and white patchy-ness, and it itched. Since that was the only new thing that I had began using, I stopped the drug. I don't know how long Advair can stay in your system, but just yesterday, the same rash appeared on my upper arms. Not sure what to think???

I am having Mirena removed today at 1:30 pm. I guess i hopped online just now to reassure myself to go through with it and not to wimp out if the doctor suggests (again) that i try to keep it. I got it inserted Dec 15th last year and have bled just about every day it seems since then. It hurt like hell when i got it. I took 3 days off work. I sweat thru a sweater and jeans on my way home from the appointment. I felt like i was going to die curled up at home by myself. Nobody believed me. I have had the worst attitude and mood swings. I am 29 years old, and don't have kids. I have never had acne in my life and have subscribed to ProActive since having Mirena. One time my chest, arms, upper back and shoulders broke out in small red bumps like i was diseased. I was not using any different perfumes or lotions etc. It went away in about a wk but i will bet it had something to do with my Mirena after reading these other posts. Once i was driving and my right foot cramped so bad i had to pull over and relax it to get home. I have not had regular bowel movements since Mirena. I swear to you- its like peristalsis stopped working on me. I always have to have help. Ive been through countless jars of Fleet suppositories and fiber supplements. And i have been on a constant detox type diet full of fiber foods to help move. I recently took my first trip to Europe. I was very worried because i had started to feel hot flashes 2 weeks prior! Hot flashes! Did i tell you im 29? It was a chilly day in October and i wanted to stip down to my undies in the AAA Travel office. I may have had a couple yeast infections in my life (in college) before Mirena. Since Mirena i have had one every couple weeks. Ive had odor out of this world when i never used to. Nothing over the counter ever worked. The doc actually tested me and found nothing abnormal about my swabs. She gave me a handful of the Diflucan pills. (Why give me that if i have nothing abnormal). I read up on vaginal health and flora. I bought the plain yogurt with probiotics etc. I started using tampons dipped in yogurt to calm things down there. Thats the only thing that felt good (but now 100%). My friends started to joke and call me Fruit on the Bottom (like Yoplait- lol). My area down there was sensitive to the touch and in pain at one point. It actually swelled up and looked super crazy one time and went back to the doctor. She again said she found nothing wrong. I asked for removal because that episode actually scared the crap out of me. My underwear even hurt. The blood and discharge burned. It was like my fluids were toxic to me. She didnt seem to believe me! She gave me 2 estrogen patches. Said to use one for the first week, remove and replace with the second one the second week. I did this and the bleeding stopped. I went for a follow up appt and she said ok- the bleeding stopped, you are ok now. The next day- you guessed it! I started bleeding again. I have been a pretty fit chick (even though im curvy/plus sized) and i pay attn to what i eat. At one point i stopped exercising and would eat anything not nailed down! I would be halfway thru a meal and plotting on what to eat next! I consulted a nutritionist and started losing the 23lbs i picked up from my Mirena binge. I have 3 friends who got Mirena and loved it. Its why i got it in the first place- because i was having abnormal periods and wanted to get it regulated. This has been a learning experience for me. I look forward to being myself again. The birth control part of Mirena is that ive been such a damned dragon that no man wants to come within 10 feet of me. LOL! And even if he wanted to I don't know what kinda mood Miss Vagina would be in that day so i don't risk the bad experience. I am going back to Orth Tri Cyclen. I never ever ever had a bad day with it. It wasn't broke so i never should have tried to fix it. I hope some of this stuff helps you. Im definitely going to my appointment to rid my body of this enemy.
Imagine me as King Leonidas on The 300 kicking Mirena into the dark pit of no return. This is Sparta!!!! :) Make your removal appt today. Im changing doctors after this also. Take care of yourself ladies!
