I can't believe what I am reading. My son, who is 10 now has been on this med for 5 years now. The same amount of time that he has been dx with ad/hd. He started a new med for adhd this past summer and was doing wonderful, at the same time I had run out of Zyrtec for a couple of months and was giving him Claritin instead. Well we got a Zyrtec prescription on Oct. 1 and since then his behavior has went down hill. I thought that the adhd med had just stopped working, now I am wondering if it is the Zyrtec. The time the med seemed to stop being effective is the same time we had the Zyrtec filled. I am taking him off of it immediately. He has been angry, smart mouthed, disrespectful. Doesn't listen to anything I say. This summer and even until last month was wonderful. He did what I asked the first time, I didn't have to repeat myself, and he was calmer and nicer. I can't wait to see if this is the cause of a lot of his problems.

Lupron can give you a horrible auto immune disorder. It did to me. I'm not kidding. Get off of it as soon as possible. You can email me for more info. This stuff is toxic and the FDA dropped the ball on approving it for use on us. I got terribly sick using this and I was so active and healthy before. I tried to sue them. Got bullied by their defense attorneys. I'm still sick. All the sickness was drug related. Trust me. Get off this drug. You are better off taking pain meds for any endo or whatever hurts than to put this in your body. Sorry to scare you. Be smart get off the stuff.

Be careful, do your research before taking Topamax. I took Topamax for 5 weeks for severe migraines. The first 2 weeks were fine, a slight decrease in my appetite. The third week, my memory suddenly got really bad, really scary. By the 4th week, my memory was non-existant and I felt slightly depressed. My Dr. assured me these side effects would soon pass. By the 5th week of Topamax, I plunged into a horrendous, suicidal depression. I cried all the time, I woke at 4 am with irregular heart beats. I have never been so uncomfortable in my own skin. I became a stranger to myself.
I much prefer my migraines over the side effects I suffered from Topamax.

Last night I bought 2 new shirts, was completely disgusted with my stomach and mid section. I had went to the doctor about 2 weeks ago for a cold, and when I was weighed, I had gained about 10 lbs in a month. I am completely disgusted with my stomach. I had a pooch down there since having my baby, but she is 19 mos now and since I had it inserted in April, I feel like a growing marshmellow. Sometimes I cant stand to even have my husband see me change clothes. Im about 195 lbs now...almost my PREGNANCY weight and I hate to get it taken out now since I just had it put in - in April. Also I have NO SEX DRIVE. My husband complains about it constantly and Im so tired all the time, I'm always saying how I could fall asleep. I keep attributing it to having a 19 mo old and working full time, but she sleeps through the nights now and I'm always tired. I've also had several dizzy spells that I can not explain. I'm going to keep reading these comments and it seems like I may have found what my problem is! Thanks for the help. I should have done my research before I went through the pain of having it put in. That would have been smart right?

Okay, I recently made a post on July 26th about how I loved Yasmin and have not had a problem with it. I would now like to revoke that post. Since I wrote that I have been feeling totally crazy! I snap at my 2 year old son, my fiance and my coworkers. That is not me! I do not do things like that. I'm usually a very happy person and very strong emotionally. Lately the most stupid stuff has me crying my eyes out. I seem to pick fights with my fiance, which I don't do. We never fight. And it was only last night that I sat down with him and told him that I feel like I'm going insane. We thought about it and the only thing that has really changed in the past 6 months is the fact that I started taking Yasmin. We discussed it and I have decided to stop taking this BCP for at least a month to see what happens with my mood. I'm hoping it works. If anyone has any suggestions about how to do this smoothly, please let me know. And good luck to you all!

My daughter just turned 3 yrs old, and was put on Singulair about a month ago. In this time I have noticed she has been stuttering. She is 3 yr old that has a huge vocabulary & is very smart (if I do say so myself). It is very odd to me that she is stuttering. In asking the DR, he did not feel it was medication related. But may I also add that she is fully potty trained & in the last few weeks has been wetting the bed every night.
Is anyone else's child stuttering?

My 7 year old son was just diagnosed with OCD and has been prescribed Prozac. I am not happy about this at all. I have had him on Prozac for one week now and thought I would check the internet on the effects of Prozac and Singulair on kids and was shocked to find out all of his current problems may be a result of the Singulair. I am taking him off of it effective today! This is after about 3+ years of being on Singulair. I am very disturbed at what I am reading about Singulair and the fact that it may be responsible for all of the terrible problems that he has been experiencing. He is beautiful, smart little boy that has been experiencing terrible thoughts and feelings lately to the point where he has told me that he wishes he was dead. I feel so bad that I did not check sooner. He is off Singulair today. I am notifying his pediatrician and hope this will result in a much happier little boy. I will write with results in a couple of months.

I'm sorry so many of you have bad experiences with Adderall. My side effects went away in about two weeks.
The amphetamines in Adderall have been used for 70 years, so if they were that dangerous, they would not be around today and one of the top 10 most prescribed pediatric drugs in America.
To Spoiled Rotten,
Apparently you can't read all that well or don't know how to do research, maybe you should have been on Adderall as a kid. RITALIN, CONCERTA, FOCALIN, DAYTRANA are all Methylphenidate, which IS NOT AN AMPHETAMINE.
Be a Big BOY/GIRL and do your own research about these drugs. Real research, not a side-effects website where people who know nothing about the drugs themselves hear something from someone, who knows someone's sisters friend who ABUSED their medication.
ALL DRUGS can be bad. You can die of an aspirin overdose. It's how they are used. Adderall and Ritalin are "very safe" when used properly" (Driven To Distraction).
I'm sure 99 percent of you don't even know what ADDICTION really is. This is a huge health problem in America. Yes, the addictions, but MORE so the ignorance and stereotypes of people with them.
African American 47,
You DON'T just get addicted to a drug. You can BE DEPENDENT on a drug, and not an addict. Cancer patients take very large amounts of NARCOTIC pain killers and THEY ARE DEPENDENT on them. For pain relief and physical dependence. They DON'T crave the drugs though.
So with SPOILED rotten's philosophy, the 20,000,000 people on Adderall or Ritalin (NOT AN AMPHETAMINE, similar, but not the same thing) who's quality of life has been improved 100 fold just like mine. I would have benefited GREATLY from medication but did not get diagnosed until 3 months ago at the age of 24.
Medication IS NOT for everyone, as "it doesn't work very well for about 80% of people who take it." (Driven To Distraction, Dr Edward Hallowell).
IF anyone has questions about ADD read "Driven To Distraction". The Author(s) both have ADD themselves and are psychiatrists.
Too many people with ADD refuse medication because they think "oh no, I will get addicted", which is 99 percent of the time not the case for ADD. They miss out on at least an option that could help them immensely.
I am so irritated with the ignorance and lack of knowledge from people who bad mouth things they know really nothing about. It didn't work for me so I am going to demonize the drugs and spread lies that they turn kids into zombies and cause them to shoot up schools..........C'mon, you're how old? I'm probably 1/2 your age and I have twice the common sense.
I'm not saying your a bad parent Spoiled, but your NAME IS Spoiled....you seem to be on a high and mighty chair, and you seemingly have a very self centered mind. Doesn't work for you then it must be the work of the devil.
Learn how to do research, form educated opinions, maybe read a book. Use your rights as a patient to see a different doctor if you don't agree with one. Do something productive.

First off, it is NOT smart to come of high doses of prednisone as some people here are doing. If you come off from a high dose, you can develope something called adrenal insufficency--which can put you in serious danger, and the side effects will double.
I'm on prednisone, 80mg a day (and i'm only 110 pounds), and the side effects are awful. However, if you don't like the side effects of prednisone, or how you're doctor is handling it--change doctors. Prednisone is not a drug to play around with. Please be careful.

OK, I'm back. Day 19 now. I called my doctor yesterday because I am beginning to feel woozy, dizzy and exhausted, I presume from loss of blood. I was told to go to Urgent Care immediately, which I did. When I told that dr. that I believed my extended bleeding was from kenalog, he laughed and said he didn't think so. "Kenalog wouldn't do that". HA. He said it sounds like I am having a miscarriage, (which is impossible lest it be from divine conception.) I said it couldn't be, he said, "Are you sure?", as if I would'nt know. I though doctors were supposed to be smart. I now have to take provera (progestorone) for the next 10 days to "reset" my cycle. Needless to say, I am pissed.

I took topamax for about 5 days and quit 5 days ago (for weight loss). The side effects are driving me crazy! My ears are ringing, my head has a burning sensation, I can't type fast anymore, I can't speak coherently, I haven't been able to sleep (only 2 hours per night) until last night and I finally drank a glass of wine with 2 benadryls! My ankles are burning some, too. I used to be relatively smart, but now I can't even make things connect now.
Will I ever get back to normal???
I can't handle the burning sensation and the ringing in my ears!!!
Why is this so easy to get when it is so bad?
Help! Oh yeah! I used to read allll the time! Now, I can only read for a few minutes and then my eyes and head begin feeling very strange.
I'm so upset about this change in my body. It wasn't worth it!!!

Dizziness, extreme nausea, and disugsting clotted dark red bleeding mid-cycle. General desire to die. Severe depression. VERY heavy periods. Oh, and it's an appetite suppressant which is not a smart thing to give someone recovering from an ed.
Time for me to rethink my contraception!

Having been diagnosed with COPD, I am prone to respiratory infections. I take Levaquin every few months for 10 days at a time and also anytime I am in the hospital by IV drip.
The medication sure does the trick and I probably owe my life to it many times over. However, I do get a rash, mostly on my arms, every time I use it. The rash is crusty and blistery and itches like crazy. I have some ointment a doctor gave me but it really doesn't seem to help.
I was never told anything about side effects of this medication and figured out myself, even after doctor visits for the rash, that it was caused by the Levaquin. Doctors aren't too smart sometimes.
It's a great medicine but, as with all medications, people should be careful and pay close attention to any changes in their body anytime they take any medication.

Hi, Its me again. I am still in severe pain with swelling in hands, fingers, arms & legs (not being able to work everyday) and I took the nuvaring out 3 weeks ago. Many of you seem to have noticed right away. I wish I had been as smart as you all, because I have waited too long. I wish someone could tell me how long it takes to completely get out of your system. My Dr just said a long time. What's a long time? Considering I use the ring for 3 years...I may have to wait longer than the rest of you.
