My husband was on lisinopril for a couple of years. A few months ago, he started to get a rash. We thought it was a soap allergy so we changed all our bath, hand and laundry soaps to hypo allergenic. He continued to get worse. He felt extremely tired and weak. He felt chilly most of the time. The rash at first peeled and was red but did not itch. Then it began to itch really bad and it spread to his feet. He took his socks off one day and skin from the soles of his feet came with it. He had a rash from head to toe. He was incredibly thirsty all the time.
His Dr. and a Dermatologist got him off the pills and treated the rash with pills (fexofen) and an ointment. Within a couple of days, he was markedly improved. Now, almost a week later, he has healed almost completely.

I am a female taking narcotic pain medication due to a back injury. Those pills make it hard to pee. My doc put me on Flomax to help me empty my bladder. I have had swollen sinus every night when I sleep. I have extreme elbow, wrist and finger pain that lasts all day/night long. My legs and knees are very stiff and sore. If I stand on my feet for more than a couple of minutes, my soles ache. I feel extremely tired and exhausted. DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG!! Now that I am off of it, my retention problem is worse than ever before. I wish I would have seen this web page before starting this horrible drug.

I was on Levaquin in February of 06. Although it helped the sinus infection, the price has been great. I had severe burning and tingling in my lips. Lower lip still numb after 20 months. Soreness and weakness in fingers--sprained two fingers while doing routine things. Stabbing pains in soles of feet, decreased over 4 months. Excruciatingly sore Achilles tendon, especially sore to the touch. Large muscle twitches in arms and legs. Decreased over several months. Ear ringing began--still have it. Dramatic increase in floaters in eyes also during the course of the drugs--still have them. Serious back problems began then also, with 4 herniated discs being diagnosed 5 months later. I have read that connective tissue damage may result from Levaquin. I feel that everthing that stated then is related: back, ears, eyes, numb lips, hands, etc. I checked with my doctors office, told them the symptoms, and I was instructed to keep taking the drug if I wanted to get well. But I only spoke with a nurse. . .shame on me. Good luck to all of you.

I was advised to take Osteophos (Sodium Alendronate) 10Mg. in the morning as I was diagnosed having avascular necrosis of left femur head. I started feeling pain and soreness in my legs. I was taking some ayurvedic medicines also. I could not find out what was causing this muscle pain and bone pain. I stopped both the remedies. Follwing this, I felt burning in the sole of my left leg which lasted for about 1 month. After a gap of nearly 45 days. I again took Osteophos. I again started feeling the same sort of pain, even more severe this time. The whole body was aching. This following sore throat and cough which lasted one week. I stopped the medicine. This severe pain subsided after a week. But now I am again feeling buring pain in my soles, more in the left leg than in right. I also have weakness in my muscles of the whole body which I had never felt before. My avascular necrosis problem is more or less recovered. After a gap of 20 days, I am taking ayurvedic medicines now with some relief.
This is just for information of those who are taking fosamax.

After taking Lipitor for about a year I nticed that the soles of both feet were slightly numb. Have now been taking Lipitor for about ten years and the numbness has increased including the whole foot. Could this be due to the Lipitor? It makes walking with assurance very difficult. Have also noticed that my legs ache and I have increased ringing in my ears.
Would appreciate your observations.

I took only 1 dose of Levaquin, 500mg, at 7pm. Within 3 hrs I noticed tingling in my arms and hands and increased urination. Was wide awake all night, developed rash on abdomin, very red neck and face, ringing in my ears, dry mouth, back and neck pain, clenching of jaw and unable to relax it, and a disjointed/out of body feeling. I called my Dr. the next morning and quit taking the Levaquin. Day 2 and still having insomnia, twitching of muscles at corner of mouth, itchiness on palms and soles of feet, anxiety, abdominal pain and joint pain.

I've been taking Lipitor 40 mg. for over a year. A few months after, I started to notice my ankles were swelling a little bit. I attributed it to the warmer summer weather in Florida. It continued through the winter along with pins & needles on my soles and heels, and my doctor said it wasn't caused by Lipitor. After a 10 hr. flight to Europe in May, my ankles & feet were extremely swollen and painful. It hurt to just touch my ankles and feet. Even my toes were swollen. Bought compression stockings but it did not help. Walking on cobblestones was unbearable. I took my last Lipitor pill on May 30th.
-- By zephyr1334 | Reply | (2) replies | Private Message meAnkle pain is gone and the swelling has reduced a little but the pins & needles feeling is still here. Ankles look good in the a.m. but as the day progresses, the swelling increases. I don't know what to think! My only choice, I feel, is to wait it out and hope the swelling & tingling goes away. Anyone else with these side effects?
