Wow..I have been wondering for awhile now if the symptoms I have been having for over a year now had something to do with the MIRENA, and now I know I am not alone. I had the Merina put in in August of 2007, due to prolonged bleeding after my 3rd child (2nd pregnancy). I had on and off bleeding for the first 6 months, which they say is normal. Since then, I have experienced sore eyes, head aches, thinning hair (to the point that my pony tail holder falls out all the time), thinning eye lashes, and I feel sick to my stomach on a regular basis. My memory is horrible lately too. The worst of all would have to be my mood swings, anger, and feelings of depression. My poor husband and kids. I have 3 beautiful children and an amazing husband. None of us deserve this. I can feel my change in mood come and go. I went to my doctor and had all my blood work done and tested , and it all came back normal. I am 30 years old, I eat right and exercise regularly. There has to be something hormonally going on. I did not have these symptoms before the Mirena, and after reading everyone's experience, I truly believe that the Mirena is what has caused this major shift in the way my body feels. I want to take back control of my body.

Thank you all for sharing your stories. It has helped me to know I am making the right decision in getting this taken out as soon as possible. I'd rather have long periods, and take a pill everyday than have my entire life disrupted just because the Mirena is convenient. I have 2 goods friends that have the Mirena and they love it. I guess it just goes to show that all of our bodies are different, and it's up to us to listen to what our bodies are trying to tell us. Good luck to you all,and I will post once I have it taken out on how it effects me.

******

Yes Seroquel can give you hair loss so I try and keep mine short, but also it is either except this danger or be sitting in the mental hospital never being happy and popping many other pills and never getting to a place of function.
I find if I am very sleepy but highly strung I will take a mild sleeping pill to take the edge of the just sleep mode, where the bad dreams happen or the falling from a building or the monsters come out to play.

The fact others describe some type of experience it shows a common in many of us,
The crave for sugar and fat foods is always on my mind, but this gives me massive head ake's, so even if diet drinks is one solution and still bad for the health, some choices still need to be made over all.
I have been on 500mg for say 7 or 8 years loss track of time but the point is do I want to feel crazy thoughts, I have had to work out what is best Vs the crap of sweating, dry mouth, skin rash's, oily skin, hair loss, sore eyes, not all side effects happen at once they do take their turn and line up to whats next, LOL.
b4 sleep I find a higher sex drive, maybe due to the relaxed state and my mind has no troubles in the world, with out the meds I can go 36 or 40 hours with out sleep, then comes the disordered thinking, so I have to make sure this does not happen much and manage my own mental health of choice to being well or feeling crappy.
When I cant poo for day or 5 days and the tummy is very heavy, I drink 2ltrs of orange juice and hydrate this is a must and many people will find their bodys need more liquids at time's than normal.
The people who get by on 50mg or 100mg for sleep you are so Lucky, I wish I could sleep on this does, but not possible.
I remember some years I went up the dose by 25 to 50mg and my body went into perspiration and feeling horny for hours on end, this went on for about a month so I went back to 500mg as per normal again.
Serquel is a drug and is also a poison either you take it or you don't but the fact is in most cases a sleeping or mental disorder exists.. and your seeking help or being helped.
Yoga and TiChi did not help slow the racing thoughts, So another choise is take the old style meds and sleep 20 hrs a day or take Seroquel and sleep 7 to 9 hours and still play a video game or go fishing more so do something with my life and work on the computer helping others.

Started Lipitor in 1995 after a heart attack.

My doctor's insist Lipitor is not causing, my tiredness, sore eyes, even after 8 hours of sleep I get up tired, loss of memory, loss of words, stammering, stuttering, difficulty articulating words, feeling of hopelessness.

The doctor wont take me off Lipitor , anything else I can do to lower by cholesterol. Without Lipitor it is 240, Lipitor brings it down to 180.

I take 10 mg

I put up with Yasmin for just 10 days because it turned me into a completely different person! I was shocked at how quickly it affected me! The doctor changed me to Yasmin because it would be better for my skin (I've been on Trifeme for about 3 years with no problems other than a recent skin pigmentation) and started taking it one Saturday morning. The next morning I woke up feeling terrible, and snapped at my bf really badly. I was really really angry for no reason at all! I got really dry, sore eyes and wasn't sleeping well at all. I'd be so tired during the day I felt like I could just put my head down on the desk and go to sleep!! These feelings continued and worsened every day, until I started feeling like I could punch something if it stepped out of line... and the tiniest things would annoy me so much, like simply my bf sneezing! After a week I looked up the side-effects of Yasmin (disbelieving that something could effect me so quickly) and when reading the many sites like these I suspected it could be the pill. After a few more anger attacks and crying for no reason (and a particularly bad case where I cut my finger and yelled at my bf because he got me a band aid, locking myself in the bathroom and crying for 30 minutes - go figure?) I decided to stop taking Yasmin. I've been off it for 5 days now and I feel so much better!!! Never again! I'm going to try a pill-free lifestyle for while I think and use other forms of contraception... it's just not worth it.

When a class action lawsuit is filed, let me know....this drug should be taken of off the market immediately. We started all of this with an OB/GYN that prescribed this “miracle pill” and now have had to go not only to our primary doctor, but also a psychiatrist, gastrenologist, college campus counselors, psychologists, psychiatrist, and the campus medical doctors; All the while, accumulating enormous doctor bills. All the doctors say, "No, Yasmin won't cause those problems" (except the college campus doctors..wonder why? Hmm.. could it be that they are not in private practice?)....well, I beg to differ. Everyone needs to give this website to their doctor so the doctors can hear from the patients that have taken this drug, and not listen to the pharmaceutical companies that are pushing this drug to be the "miracle pill". Maybe if enough people complain and go to the media, we can get rid of this drug!
My daughter who is 18 was put on Yasmin because of irregular periods, hormonal imbalance, etc. We were told it was the new “miracle pill”. It will make you loose weight, regulate your periods, clear up acne, you name it, it will fix it. Yeah, right.
She started taking this pill in March 2007. She was off at college but called to tell me she was experiencing horrible headaches, behind the eyes. She complained about her stomach hurting, but we just figured it was the stress of freshman year at college. Then she said she got where she couldn’t eat when she went to a restaurant. When she came home in May for the summer, I noticed a total personality change. For example, she was always a neat freak, and now she wouldn’t clean her room. The first day when she drove home, she started crying she was so mad about the traffic. Yes, she has always had a little road rage, but this was ridiculous.
By June, not only could she not be in crowds, like at a restaurant, but now she is having full blown panic attacks and IBS. We called the OBGYN and they said, “Yasmin won’t cause this, go see your primary doctor”. I knew that the only thing that had changed with her was taking the YASMINE. I knew it had something to do with all of this so I “Googled Yasmin” and this website (http://www.medications.com/se/yasmin) was the first one I looked at. All of her symptoms matched everyone else’s! I am so glad we found this website, it explained everything and I had her to stop Yasmin immediately.
So we went to the primary doctor, explained about the Yasmin and how we thought it was the culprit of everything. Of course this doctor also says, “Yasmin won’t cause that”. We told him to look it up on the internet and see how there are over 3000 complaints on this drug, more than any of the other drugs on the market.
Besides the emotional problems she starting having, her pulse and blood pressure was sky high, so he puts her on medicine for that, and puts her on an anxiety medicine and sends her to a psychiatrist. She is very thirsty all the time, and develops IBS. She can’t eat without having pains in her stomach. So, now we’ve have gone from having just irregular periods, to all of the above, plus a psychiatrist.
The psychiatrist doubles her medicine (and puts her Pamine for the IBS) because the panic attacks are gone, but she still is having a lot of nervousness, anxiety, can’t sleep at night, crazy thoughts, worrying all the time, etc. A month later he changes her medicine again, to Effexor. The first 2 weeks, she does okay, but the packet doubles the strength after 2 weeks. It takes 4 weeks for it to take full effect. Right after she doubles this medicine, it is like her senses are on hyper-mode. She can taste everything that is in her food (chili powder, seasonings, etc…), taste the metal in water, and she can hear someone’s phone vibrating, in another room.
Then she goes back to college at the end of August 2007, and it’s horrible. The Effexor is having bad, bad side effects. We called the psychiatrist that she was using at home and he doubled the dose. That was the worse thing they could’ve done. The side effects were worse than ever. I had her to immediately go to a psychiatrist on campus. She told him the whole story and he believed her! Needless to say we switched doctors. He then lowered her dose back down to ½ a dose and hopefully can slowly get her off of all this medicine.
The newest thing she has developed is being hypoglycemic. The campus psychiatrist sent her to a campus medical doctor and he told her that they would get to the bottom of this. He tested her for everything under the sun. Low blood sugar is the only thing they found. But, she hasn’t taken the Yasmin since May. No telling what the results would have came back like if it was done at the time she was taking Yasmin.
Thank goodness she has counselors and doctors there at the campus that believes that Yasmin can cause all of these problems, and are working with her. From what I have read from the people that have used this medicine, although most doctors do not agree, Yasmin takes like 6 months to get out of your system. I think I am going to believe the testimonials of the people who take this medicine, over a doctor who prescribes it.
If everyone goes to the media, their doctors, the FDA, congressmen, and make them aware of these horrible effects, surely we can get this drug off of the market! Does anyone know a class action lawyer that would pursue this? For my child to have to go through all of this is ridiculous, not to mention costly. What do we know of the long term effects this drug will have if it is doing all of this when you first start taking it?
If you have the same concerns as me about this drug, and would be interested in looking into a class action lawsuit, please email: ****** I would be interested to see how many would want to pursue this.

I am a very athletic and active 37 yo male. I suffered a shoulder injury that required surgery and I needed to get cardial clearance before my procedure could go ahead. I have really no medical history other than Mitrovalve Prolapse. The doctor diagnosed me with hbp and put me on 10mg of Lisinopril the first week of January 07. all was ok until after my surgery. I started experiencing the side effects in the last 2 1/2 weeks. Here is a list of symptoms Ive experienced in mostly random, erratic times.

-Mild Cough(thankfully)
-Loss of motivation
-Heart beating out of chest with elevated blood pressure(huh?)
-Pangs of anxiety and mild panic
-Hot flashes (like hearing shocking news)
-Weak in the knees (after flash)
-Mild headache (like caffeine headache)
-Shaky hands
-Irritability
-Cold and hot sensations in hands and feet
-Slightly cloudy vision and sore eyes
-Cramps in calves and forearms
-Random muscle ticks
-Sore neck (could be from my arm sling)

I went to the ER 3 days ago after an episode and got an ekg and it looked fine. The doc thought maybe I was withdrawing from alcohol from the way I was fidgeting. I was a mess. I felt like crap the rest of the day. I called my cardiologist and he (his nurse) suggested Atenolol in addition to my Lisinopryl. I cannot wrap my mind around that. Are they really trying to poison us? Since then I have been eating better and drinking plenty of liquids but I still get the pangs, just not as bad so far. It is affecting my daily life and I dont want it to affect my healing. After reading thru endless posts on this site I feel angry and truly feel I should find an alternative. Thank you all for posting!

i have just come off Doxy after about 4 days with severe heartburn ("im going to die" kind of bad), nausea, loss of appetite, headache, sore eyes, extreme fatigue and weakness, confusion, constipation and stomach cramps (felt as though i was getting my period..badly..)

When i first started taking them i initially noticed a feeling in my throat, somewhat like when you swallow a large pill without water, that didnt go away but proceeded to "move" down my throat for about three days, making swallowing uncomfortable. I then stopped taking them for unassociated reasons (social commitments involving alcohol-antibiotics and alcohol not a good mix) and felt fine. Once i began taking them again the feeling returned and on the third morning (2am) i awoke with incredible heartburn and it all went downhill from there.
