Muscle weakness, pain, tingling
After taking levaquin, I still suffer from muscle weakness, pain, and tingling several years later. My doctor who is one of the top specialists in New York has seen what this drug has done to me and is doing research for an article in a medical journal to put the word out of the horrible side effects of this drug as well as increasing the knowledge to hopefully figure out how to counteract this.
If you are/have suffered similar results, please contact me at ****** and we can discuss how you can send your case information to my doctor for the study and medical journal article. We need more scientific studies and literature out there about this drug and the side effects.

I took Lipitor for about 2 years- 5 mg.
Leg cramps-soreness throughout my muscles- very sore buttocks-
my legs are shaky- if I use them too much; (as in walking 3 miles)
I am (was ) an avid body builder that could squat with 100 lbs- and now ( I am a health conscious -non drinking- NO other medication 104 lb slim female) have quivering legs if I stand for too long. I even had a muscle biopsy- and it cam back negative- I have not had a statin for 6 months- but I still have cramps- and abnormal liver values- and I have NO other conditions-I have been scanned from head to toe - open MRI- closed MRI -but the muscle stiffness- soreness- especially legs- continues-
does anyone know how long it lasts? I have also been tested for liver cancer- thank God-negative.
I really feel that Lipitor did this- has anyone else gone from fit as a fiddle to a quivering -achy person- I have gone through 5 doctors- internal - gastrointestinal - neurologist- hematologist and all is negative- just high liver values and muscle pain. Thank you so much.Maxine

This is in response to guest #36367. I am also wanting to know about any class action lawsuits. I have been off of Zocor now for four months. I am still left with my problems such as muscle twitching (I would say it is about 75% better), sore legs and shaking. My doctor told me she has another patient who has the same symptoms as I do, and after a year she still has problems when she is stressed, sick or tired. I don't think this problem will ever go away. My neurologist couldn't find anything wrong with me and said he thinks I had a neuromuscular reaction to statins. I have always been in good health and felt good, but not anymore. I hope someday I am 100% better, I was shooting first for one month, then was hoping maybe at two months, now I am hoping at six months I am back to me. Good luck.

Originally diagnosed with PMR and was taking prednisone in high doses for 2 years with ok results, except that as I lowered the mg of prednisone the PMR symptoms returned. New doctor diagnosed RA instead and put me on Remicade. After 4 infusions I am having severe muscle pain in my upper right leg. And on occasion the beginning of the same problem in my upper left leg. Affectsmy mobility and I am taking large doses of tylinol & motrin for the pain. Doctor says this is not a side effect of the Remicade. At first I believed him, but now am having doubts. Anyone else have this side effect?

To the last few posters:
yes, sore legs is one of the symptoms that can be brought on by Yasmin! I had them, too, during taking Yasmin and even a few months after getting off!! And so are the leg cramps!! Yasmin can cause a lack of magnesium in your body (and many other minerals and vitamines as b-vitamines and so on). So perhaps it might help you to take a magnesium supplement to help against the leg cramps.
But first of all and after all I went through I would recommend to get off this pill as fast as you can!! There are so many other and better ways for bc!! Please read through all of the stories here and seriously think about what you perhaps are doing to your body with taking this pill!! Be careful all of you out there!!
The very heavy symptoms hit me after 2 years and my life was about to end (because I didn't realize, that it was all this pill!!) after about 5 years taking it!!! So don't think, that if you're doing well with Yasmin now after a few weeks or months, that it will be all the time that fine!! I thought so for about 5 years until realizing the harm I was doint to my body!! I don't want anyone of you to go through the torture I had to go through!! It nearly ruined my life, I'm serious!! And everything gets better very very slowly (off the pill for 8 months now and still not as fit and healthy as I was all of my life before Yasmin!!!).
The heart palpitations and the rapid heartbeat is also a symptom brought on by this wonder pill!! I went through every day with a heartbeat about 90 to 120 for about 8 months!!! And it took the whole amount of 6 months (!!!) AFTER getting off Yasmin, until this symptom stopped and my heartbeat went to normal about 70 to 80!! So please don't worry!! It will get better. Give your body time to recover after putting this Yasmin poison into it!! And even if you were taking it just for one month... !!!
Take care and don't give up!!
Best wishes!!

I took Levaquin for 14 days in January of 2004, and a month later, I took Avelox for 15 days. My ADR appeared on day 13 of the Avelox (a drug in the same family). It first started as lower leg pain in the calves and shins. Then I had sharp pains in my wrists. The next day, I developed carpal-tunnel like symptoms in the hands (pins and needles). I went off the medication, but a couple days later, a burning rash appeared on my palms, and I began having pains in my solar plexis.
5 weeks later and I still have sore legs, Achilles tendons, numbness in my toes, carpal tunnel syndrome, bilateral unlnar neuritis, runaway anxiety, and termination insomnia. The hands have improved a bit during the day, and the rash has diminished about 95%, but I still wake up with numbness. Both my GP and neurologist suspect the medication to be the cause of this, but it is difficult to prove.
My quality of life has been affected, since I can no longer exercise or type for lengthy periods of time.

I was taking Lisinopril and had severe leg cramps. I took myself off the drug. The doctor encouraged me to continue, but to cut the dose in half. This I did. I began to have sore legs at night which I attributed to being on my feet too much. Recently I took myself off Lisinopril and my sore legs vanished.
